I think that everyone should take a moment to think about just how fucking weird Malleus is. Like, he rlly isn’t the super OP, suave, mysterious bad boy trope that he frequently gets boxed into. That is literally in universe propaganda- that’s what his classmates (who are too afraid to talk to him) have like. Made up abt him. He’s actually rlly fucking odd (seemingly even by fae standards) and that is so cool of him. Like. He has a fixation on one particular architectural feature and shows up in your back yard on a weekly basis to infodump at you. His handwriting is basically calligraphy. He does not know how to work a cell phone. He has the most offputting sense of humor known to man and god, yet somehow does not always understand sarcasm when it’s directed at him. The only person who understands him is his equally weird yet socially adjusted 600+ year old adopted father, and even he was so concerned for Malleus’ social development he tagged along with him to school with the goal of making some sort of social connection happen. He’s so odd and I think we should all take a moment to think abt him as a weird little freak

Malleus: Well, I assumed that given your living situation and expenses you sadly had to use a pretty rock you found instead of the emerald

Malleus: As soon as you walked into the dorm doors

Mc/Y/N/Yuu: I thought that was a paper to see who came?

Malleus, worried tone, happy face: My, dear, you really should read something before you sign it 😊

Malleus: The outfit of garments I sent to you the day before our wedding and the ring I'm assuming you thought was a "simple" gift 😞

Malleus: Yes, I must say you looked positively gorgeous/beautiful/handsome and I chose the ring very well, it suits you tremendously

COMMENTS: It kinda bothered me that everyone in the A Firelit Sky event was like "Malleus!??!?!?!" like he wasn't allowed on the trip? LIKE I GET WHY but I kinda just want MC to be like "omg HORNTON!!!! :D" and be genuinely happy to see him because I think that's cute.

Silence fell over the mirror hall as Malleus stepped towards the ground, his arms crossed over his chest. It was only broken by the sound of Jamil’s sputtering and the loud “BWHA?” from everyone else.

“Lilia invited YOU?!” Jamil yelled, his voice raising in volume.

Cater opened his mouth to add to Jamil’s comment, but was interrupted by a blur of black throwing itself at Malleus. Grim yelped at the sudden movement, looking like he’d just seen a ghost.

“Hornton!” you cheered, arms wrapped around his torso tightly, “I’m so glad you’re here!”

The scary expression that had been forming on Malleus’s face immediately vanished as your warmth encircled him, his glare shifting to a soft smile faster than any of your watching classmates could comment on it.

“Hello, Child of Man.” he said, returning your embrace with even more gentleness.

“Aww.” Cater fiddled with his hair, “That’s so sweet.”

“Prefect? Are you sure you should be hugging Malleus?” Trey shook his head, smiling at the unexpected turn of events.

“Yes. I’m sure.” you pouted, tightening your arms around him, “You guys need to be nicer to Malleus!”

“I don’t have a problem with their affectionate gestures.” Malleus said, lifting one of his hands up to pat your head.

“I’m so happy you’re coming Malleus! So Lilia invited you?” you beamed, attention entirely taken by the student in front of you.

“I can’t believe my henchhuman is coddling Hornton.” Grim grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest.
