I miss the era where Batman Dick would always freak out when he hears that Damian is fighting someone alone and everyone assumes its because he's worried about his safety, when in reality he's worried about the safety of the people fighting him.

That was before they chose to visit the arcade and play the most advanced game of laser tag in Gotham and got completely stomped by a team of three with the name ‘knock-off ghost busters’ in neon green equipment.

There’s no way these people are normal civilians.

Bunch of dc story ideas because I keep forgetting to write them down and they're not fully fleshed out anyway:

Captain marvel gets 'deaged', either through klarion or something he ran into doing duty around the Rock, and flees to the first safe place he can think of - the watchtower. Unfortunately, Billy assumed the curse would simply revert him to his mortal form, or close enough... But the champion of magic form turns out to have been a disguise in more ways than one, because this new body most certainly isn't human.

Similarly, cap gets deaged to Billy's age, but he's still... The champion of magic form. Now Billy batson has full access to his full set of powers and skills, but in his mortal shape. This is going to really help his secret identity :'). Especially because the villains KEEP ATTACKING PEOPLE PLEASE KNOCK IT OFF.

Meta!Batman. His rare power transformed him into a monster on the scale of killer Croc or man bat, and also enabled him to turn into a human. A completely normal. Baseline human. It's infuriating that a normal person has to worry about meta blockers or inhibitor cuffs, especially after his (slightly fudged to keep the traffickers out) statistical announcement of 'no metas in Gotham' got presumed to be a demand, because he had to call in the league to help with a fighting ring and now he's hiding in a dark room while superman tries to coax him out. Man bat already stole the niche, it's just embarrassing.

Possessed doll au! When an 8yo Bruce falls into a cave under his house, he had nightmares about tea parties and flapping wings and wooden limbs for years. Nearly a decade later, he returned to find a sprawling system of tunnels and cracks, through one of which lies an abandoned, life sized marionette tea party, with empty porcelain tea cups and old, outdated gowns. The torch lights upon the doll at the head of the table, a tall, imposing man with chipped paint, dressed all in black, his joints rusted and head lolling. Bats screech from the darkness as he approaches, and when he touches its hand the world goes black. It's terrifying to wake up in a body of wood, hearing it creak and twist, hearing it scream as he cries. He wakes up back in his own body, sprawled on the floor, and runs. He's back down in a few months, this time bound and determined to figure it out. It turns out whatever it is, it has no malice. Indeed it makes for a wonderful, powerful body once he's cleaned it up, able to move and bend in ways no human could. He can hollow it out carefully and fill it with whatever items he might need. A body that doesn't need to breathe or eat, one that can take a beating, night after night. It takes him a long time to wonder why the dolls have precisely as many people as the manor eventually does. In the meantime the people of Gotham are 90% sure their protectors aren't human. And the jl is terrified of the cave. (cryptid, cave is haunted au?)

Venom!dp x dc twin au. Danyal and Damian were the league famous demon twins, the dual gems in its crown, until Danyal is killed. Raas, furious and refusing to lose his other grandchild, starts pushing Damian harder and harder while his brother is taken to the pit as a last resort. To the adults' knowledge, it didn't work. Danny's body dissolved in the acidic waters. To Damian's knowledge, his brother returned as a desperate, animalistic thing one night, seeping through the cracks of his room. Refusing to let his brother go again, Damian demands they be reunited as one, and Danny fuses with his very skin. Once his mind returns, Danny returns the sentiment, both deeply terrified of being pulled apart again. They communicate through reflections and whispers, sharing control of the body by transforming between human and ghost, sharing powers and instincts equally. When they're sent to Wayne manor, they're restless and defensive. They have each other, no one else can discover Danny, no one else can separate them again. Their father must never find out.

Thanagerian!Danny. He's a couple generations removed on his mother's side, so he doesn't even realise until his ghost form appears with two gorgeous wings. It really adds to the psychopomp symbolism, at least? He has a lot of questions when he meets the justice league. No wonder vlad never successfully managed to clone him!

Shapeshifter captain marvel. Please. He's apprenticing under tawky ^^

Pre-Damian Wayne, I'm curious who the writers envisioned carrying on the Batman legacy.

Obviously Dick took the mantle in Prodigal, and I can think of several instances where Tim pushed for him to be Bruce's successor. I don't think Dick wanted to be Batman, but we've seen that he was willing to do it if he thinks it's needed. And he's certainly a popular character, maybe enough to satisfy Batman readers.

Parallels have been drawn between Tim and Bruce as well (both in and out of universe), and of course we have the appearance Evil Batman!Tim from the future. And if Damian's not too young to be considered a hypothetical Bat-successor, then neither was Tim.

I know that people think of Cass as the most similar to Bruce when it comes to the mission, and you could think of Helena's run as the Bat in No Man's Land as a test run for a female successor.

And of course there's Terry McGinnis, but he was never a part of the mainstream comics universe pre-reboot...

The Trinity universe is just the most recent time we've seen a possible future version with Damian as Batman, so that seems to be the direction writers have been leaning pretty much since Damian was introduced. Not sure how I feel about that overall, but I do like that it suggests Dick sticks with Nightwing instead of giving it up to be Batman, and that Damian's Batman is clearly very different from Bruce's. Still, I'm curious about what we could have had.

I've been binging Batman Beyond recently (Terry ily so much) and thought about how- bc of the JLU twist which I think isn't even canon to the comics BB verse but shhh bare with me- he'd technically be Damian's half brother??? Which is just so ridiculously soap opera to me. I need them to interact in a silly time travel adventure so bad you don't even understand (ID in alt)

I’m basic but it’s gotta be when they first admit their feelings in JLDAW.

Damian, who had lost most everyone that he cared about or that cared about him, learned that Raven had feelings for him too. For him, it showed him love and humanity after two years of feeling like he had none. And Raven, who had spent these past two years feeling weak, both in her own mind and power wise, gets told by Damian Wayne how incredibly strong she is. It’s love during tragedy and a brief moment of happiness during the otherwise despondent film. Most of my other favorite moments of theirs have sort of an undercurrent of sadness, and while this one sort of mourns the two years they lost, it’s ultimately hopeful, or at least provides them with an emotional reprieve from all the darkness. And also that hand touch??? 10/10

it's hilarious to me that the "best" era for any given Bat-affiliated character is usually either a) 1999-2004 or b) 2009-2011.....and then there's Jason, who's living his best life right now in the Infinite Frontier era, and Damian, whose "best" era as a character so far has arguably been 2011-2016 even though he was fridged and dead for two of those years

What would jon get damian for Christmas and what would damian get jon for Christmas?

I was going to wait to answer this until after my polls were completed because I didn't want to effect the outcomes...but, I got impatient 😁

Jon wanted to get something really special for Damian for Christmas but there was one problem. Jon didn't have a lot of money like Damian and the amount of allowance he made would never cover a really cool gift in time. So, he wandered around the mall with his parents for hours before his parents finally made him leave empty handed. He was absolutely distraught, Damian was obviously going to get him something really cool and he would have nothing to give him. He cried on the car ride home, so his mother offers him some advise, 'is there anything you have that he might not?' That seemed silly, Damian was a rich kid he had everything! Then one day while Damian was sleeping over at Jon's, he complains that he is cold. Jon hands his hoodie so that he could wear it, it was something he did all the time, so didn't think much of it. That night he thought to himself, 'Damian is always cold, maybe he needs a hoodie!" ...but then he remembers he's rich, he must have hoodie. It was then that he ralized that maybe it had nothing to do with not having a hoodie, maybe that Damian liked his hoodie because it was his hoodie. That year for Christmas Jon wrapped up his hoodie and nervously gifted it to Damian. When he opened it, he said nothing but he gives Jon a big hug. 

Damian had never been one for overly sentimental gifts but that all changed one winter. There was a day leading up to Christmas when Jon let slip that he listens to Damian's heart to fall asleep. Jon was super embarrassed because Damian said it was weird but later. Damian feels really bad about it, especially because he actually didn't hate it, he just got embarrassed and didn't know how to react. So, he wanted to find the perfect gift to make it up to him but he couldn't figure out what to get him. So, he called Dick and his brother just tells him to 'give from the heart'. It was cliché but it gave Damian an idea, he remembered going to build-a-bear with Staph and Cass and how you could record any sound you wanted to put inside a bear, and while Damian considered himself too old for stuffed animals, he was sure Jon would probably like it. When Christmas morning finally came, he was really nervous, 'what if Jon was too old to for stuffies?' or worse, 'what if his comment had made Jon stop liking the sound of his heartbeat?' When he nervously gave Jon his gift though he quickly found that he had been worried for nothing, Jon loved it, he almost cried.  Jon now sleeps with it every night.
