hello! i was wondering if i could request something tim drake x gn! reader, where the the entire batfam (mainly the batboys + bruce) is trying to set them up (since they've been good friends for a long time), but tim and the reader have already been dating for a few months and the batfam finds out because damian and jason caught them making out in the library (you can change the library bit to them having a date and they catch them)

The library's temperature must have risen twenty degrees since their lips first met. Sitting on the couch, books forgotten beside the couple, y/n having slip onto his lap, legs on either side of his thighs, one hand rooting itself at the nape of his neck, digging into his hair, while the other held onto his shoulder. His hands had been wandering too, never staying in one place for long. Moving from their waist to cupping their cheeks, to gripping their ass and pulling them even closer to him. Small gasps and moans being muffled by each other's mouths, they were unaware of anything outside of their little bubble of ecstasy. Their self-absorbed bliss lasted only until a shriek and a "Really, in the library?" came from the doorway. Pulling apart and stumbling away from each other as quickly as humanly possible, the pair looked over to find the source of the intruding noise. There, in the doorway stood Damian and Stephanie, one looking particularly more shocked than the other. Another shriek, much more resembling a squeal the second time around escaped the blonde's mouth.

"Oh my god! How long has this been going on? How have we not known? Holy shit, you're so cute!" Before any of her questions were met with an answer, she had already pulled out her phone and made a call, yelling into the speaker, "abort! abandon mission! abort!" Someone on the other line had begun to speak, cutting her off, and while she nodded along furiously, after only a moment she began spitting out words again. "Mhmm! Yeah! Cancel the plan, Jay and I just walked in on them making out in the library, there's no need! Ok, ok, yeah, mhmm, bye!" Turning on them once more, she demanded her answers. Only to be met with more questions.

"What the hell? What was that about?" Tim asked, face twisted in annoyance.

"We've been trying to set you two up forever! How long have you two been together??"

"Uhh, three months now? It'll be four months on the twenty-first." Tim spoke. "Wait. you've been trying to set us up? Who was in on it?" Damian had been quiet for most of the interaction, typing on his phone. It was then that he started to talk.

"Everyone has. Though, I'm not surprised you've been ignorant to their attempts, being the inferior robin and all."

"Shut up, brat."

“Asmi Danyal.” Damian says.

“Asm- asmi Danyal.” Danny repeats.

There is a sharp jab to his leg.

Danny thinks this means he’s winning, and he grins goofily.

(He’s not, he did the pronunciation wrong. He has to say it again.)

Where he is, is his room. It’s nearing midnight, and him and Damian have been sitting in his room for the last three hours.

He has books about learning arabic sprawled at his feet, from beginner’s books to advanced, he got whatever he could get his hands on that would teach him Arabic.

And Damian, little Damian who has finally taken it upon himself to settle down over these last few months, has decided that he doesn’t really like the way Danny is teaching himself.

“Your pronunciation is bad.” He told him through the translator Danny downloaded onto his phone. And then he sat down onto the ground and pointed at the floor and said “‘Ardia.”

And then wouldn’t stop until Danny said it in a way that he liked. He moved on to the next object. And then the next, and then the next. And so this has been their dynamic for the last two weeks. They’re finally moving on to proper sentences.

(It’s not fool-proof, and that’s why Danny still has his books. Damian doesn’t know every word, and knowing words doesn’t mean he knows how to string them together into a sentence.)

(But never let it be said that Danny is not a quick learner when he sets his heart to something.)

“Asmi Danyal.” Damian says.

“Asmi Danyal.” Danny repeats.

(“My name is Daniel.”)

Damian nods, satisfied and sated. He points to himself, puffed up like a peacock showing off its feathers. “Asmi Damyan Alghul.” He says, “‘Ana abn aldam.”

(There’s a flicker of uncertainty on Damian’s face, a slump in his shoulders that exists for only a millisecond. It’s a look on Damian’s face that Danny sees on his own whenever he looks in the mirror.)

(A question of identity, an ‘I think’ - am I really who I say I am? Doubt comes in with fickle tongue.)

Danny - much to his own surprise - is able to piece together the second half of his sentence on his own. It’s slow, assigning words to translation, but he learns it.

(“My name is Damian Al Ghul. I am the blood son.”)

The blood son - he can only assume he means the blood son of Bruce Wayne, of course. He shares the same face as the very public figure’s youngest boy.

And Danny shares the face of the youngest boy’s father.

And much like him, this Damian was younger than the original, thirteen year old one. Much younger.

“Marhaban Damian.” Danny says, a sly smile creeping up his face. “Asmi Danyal Fenton —” his eyes glance to one of his books, a list of greetings going down the page. He finds one he’s looking for. “Tasharafna.”

(“Hello Damian, my name is Daniel Fenton. It’s nice to meet you.”)

(He’d hold out his hand in a customary, playful handshake, but his palms still sting and hurt from his last encounter with Damian’s blade. He’s got them half curled at his side, unmoving as much as possible.)

Danny got the last pronunciation wrong, much to his amused delight. Damian’s face darkens and his smug expression falls away into a scowl.

“‘Ant aldajaalu, wanha ‘tasharafna.”

(“You are the imposter, and it’s ‘tasharafna’.”)

And so here they go again.

See it honestly wouldn't be such an issue if they actually gave damian some colour to his skin something to show this is damian alghul Wayne and so that in years time people won't look back and get confused about what robin they're looking at

The vasquez parents know that one of their kids is a super hero and are now forthe first time meeting his long time coworkers. Featuring dotting grandma kent. Atta bot pa kent. Apple pie. Farmboy clark. "Too many kids" tired dad bruce wayne and his expensive RV. "On top of the barn acrobatics Grayson. "I shall have the animals" and damein alghul wayne. I know the DCAU was over by then and this comic came out 2022 but Shadow Wars would of been a perfect ending to DCAU Damian's story

I think it came as a show how much Damian's grown and being a key part to the DCAU

So Much of that arc was important to all 3 them, own growth and their relationship together

Granted many flaws as Ra's was dead since the first movie but still.

I'm upset that DCAU closed with yeah Talia suddenly hates her son. Why? Cos we said so.

It's also the beginning of the end of the relationship between her master and Alghul. As they flee his forces, the sword awakens a wraith that's on Bianca's side (which is good because of the foul creatures Alghul sends after them).

The story and art are as playful as they are powerful, and remind me of both Andrew Maclean's Head Lopper and Mike Mignola's Hellboy. Get this one for your library.
