Danny is Some Guy with a not so secret admirer.
Part four? Post #four? I don’t know, none of these are exactly in order. Post one, post two, post three.
——
By the time Tim opened the door, Danny had his coffee made and handed to Mia at the register. He resolutely ignored her smug face and went back to making the other orders.
Tim had been a regular long before Danny had started at the coffee shop but it was three days into Danny’s third week when Tim had stumbled in at eight a.m. and did a double take upon seeing Danny. A very obvious double take followed by intense staring before Mia had cleared her throat. The blush that lit up Tim’s face was only rivaled by the one on Danny’s.
He had never had anyone openly stare at him before.
Mia had been insufferable ever since.
It also didn’t help that shortly after their first meeting Tim had started taking his breaks at the little coffee shop. It’s been three weeks, nearly a month and Wayne Enterprise’s CEO went from a bi-weekly regular to an everyday one. (Danny wondered if he should be concerned for the man’s caffeine intake but he only had the one cup every time so probably not.)
Originally, Danny had no plans to talk to Tim. It seemed obvious the guy had a crush on Danny if the constant looks over his laptop were anything to go by and Danny didn’t want to encourage it. Danny barely had time to make new friends let alone start a relationship.
There was also the added problem of what was quickly becoming his bat stalkers. How do you explain to someone that you were being watched by Gotham’s vigilante’s for no reason? (Or worse because he had made a poorly timed sleep-deprived comment.) Danny didn’t think you could without seeming suspicious.
Incidentally though, Danny’s plan went out the window when on a slow afternoon as he was cleaning tables and passed behind Tim. Once he saw the article the other man was reading he snorted.
Bruce Wayne and The Batman? Could This Be A New Romance For Gothams Most Beloved Billionaire?
It was one of those gossip rags that printed things like: Elvis: alive and well and Superman: a mild mannered farm boy? It was all nonsense.
Danny asked Tim why he bothered with the site and Tim responded that he found it amusing to read and that his family had a group chat where they sent the articles to each other.
“Okay. But Batman? Really? Your dad could do so much better.”
“You don’t like Batman?” Tim asked. Danny had slid into the chair next to him and shrugged. “I respect what he does but for as intimidating as he is, he also seems a little silly.”
Tim had given him an incredulous look and Danny hadn’t given him time to ask for an explanation, “and his kids can be just as rude. Like that flying monkey one.” Tim choked on air and Danny politely waited for him to calm down. “Kids? Wait - flying monkey one? Which one -?”
“The one always doing back flips with the blue bird symbol. He’s also a dick that gives hypocritical lectures about fighting.” Danny wouldn’t say he hated the guy but he wasn’t sure how many more lectures he could endure before going ghost and fighting him.
Tim had turned to Danny completely and was watching him with a look of disbelief, “you mean Nightwing?”
“Is that his name? Imma call him Dickwing.”
Tim had started choking again, this time Danny patted his back hoping to help. Yet it was all for not once he kept talking, “I think I’ve only had positive interactions with the one who looks like a walking red flag.”
“Red flag? Do you men hood-?”
“No, although he is definitely a red flag, I mean the other Red one. I’m sorry, I don’t know all these peoples names yet.”
“Danny!” Mia called.
Danny stood and patted Tim, who looked a little shell-shocked, on the shoulder. “Well work calls, see you later Mr. Drake-Wayne.” As he walked away he heard Tim mutter “it’s just Tim.”
(Tim for his part, placed his head in his hands and thought, well at least I have his name now.)
After that first interaction Tim stopped playing the lurker and started to actually talk to Danny and vise versa. Danny never asked if he still had a crush on him, he wasn’t sure he wanted to know.
Unfortunately, their growing friendship had only encoraged Mia as she happily sang “your boyfriend’s here!”
Danny, very maturely, did not stick his tongue out at her. He did however flip her off under the counter like an adult.

Ras creates an evil clone of Tim Drake for whatever reason and after he trains it it runs off and none of his assasins can find him.
Ras isn't too concerned because he specifically made this clone in a way that it would start to fall apart after three years and he fully expected the clone to come crawling back when that happened.
Except, the clone never came back. If fact no one heard anything from or about him since he ran into this forest three years ago and never left. His men searched that forest countless times and deployed his greatest trackers. They all said the same thing, his trail stops dead in a small grotto. There was no where he could have gone.
Its like he just vanished.
The evil clone turned out to have stumbled apon a natural portal and decided he was screwed if he stayed so why not take a chance. He could probably fight his way out of hell. Probably. The angry swarm of Assasins after him was probably going to be its own form of hell anyway, so why not. He jumped through.
The other side of the portal was not hell, thankfully. It was a small city in Illinois...for some reason. He began to patrol the city in his altered Red Robin Costume, looking for the basic necessities when he stumbles across Phantom who was in the middle of finally being captured by the Fenton parents.
Danny could do nothing as his parents were quickly killed in front of him. When he was freed from his restraints he didn't attack the other teen, he didn't get angry or yell. He cried and thanked him then cried harder.
The clone really didn't know what to do in this situation and just awkwardly comforted the ghost. Danny dragged this guy home when he found out he didn't have a place to stay. Clone Tim was planning on using the hero for a while before bouncing but all this plans changed when he saw what Phantom could do. That kind of power would be owned and controlled by someone eventually, whether it be the League of Assasins or the Justice League it was all the same. So why not him?
Danny was easy to manipulate, his sister not so much. Once he started pointing out that he was protecting Danny from people who would hurt him she became swayed.
He disliked Sam. She reminded him too much of Jason and Damian, or more accurately, a fusion of the two. The horror.
He genuinely liked Tucker, he was carefree and true to himself. Plus who was he to turn down an assistant for creating tech. He had discovered he was no longer in his own universe and the JL and LOA didn't exist here.
Tim Drake didn't exist here.
He was free.
The clone almost cried. He was Tim here. The real Tim. The only Tim. No one to prove he's better than. No one to the "the evil clone" of. Just Tim.
He was going to make the universe regret that. Starting by dating the ridiculously cute and over-powered boy that he most definitely is not in love with. No siree its just him using someone. His heart definitely isn't pounding in his chest right now as he asks him out. Nope. He definitely isn't super giddy when he says yes and kisses him. Haha that only something someone in love would do.
.
.
.
Crap.
-meanwhile in Batmans universe-
Ras casually explains he created an evil clone of Tim and its out there somewhere and its failsafe has somehow been destroyed. (Thank you Danny)
Tim freaks out and the batfam investigate. They do eventually open a portal into Amity Park where Evil Tim immediately tells them to frick off. So much chaos ensues

Idk why this is so funny to me, but how would the Batfam react to Tim Drake making a contract with a demon Male reader?
Like a part of the demon contract deals, is neither party demon nor the human can say what the contract is. So the batfam has no context what, so why is the demon there and follows around Tim.
Batman ofc dragged a favour out of Constantine, and John explains that many contracts have one rule that the contract can be told to others, of what it is. But he can give them info of the demon, which Male Reader is a demon that rules over psychology and secrets.
So when Tim is doing another "all-nighter" (it's going on 29 hours of being a wake), the batfam notices the demon getting agitated watching Tim and speaks 'Do you remember the rules of our contract?' , Tim sighing in stubbornness says 'Yes, but I'm almost done with this breakthrough'.
After one more hour, Demon Reader gets up and taps Tim's shoulder and possesses him. Immediately saving his work, and begins doing all of the self-care tasks Tim's been putting off. Like dumping out his coffee, and drinking water, taking a shower, eating a balanced meal and doing his laundry. While Tim's mind is asleep in his subconscious.
Ooooo I kinda like this idea ok soooo I think that-
At first glance everyone is definitely thrown off by your presence. Why in the world would Tim do something like this out of nowhere? Damian is just intrigued and curious, mostly asking you questions that you promptly ignore. Dick, and Jason are immediately concerned, throwing out question after question about why Tim would do this but he never tells them. So the first thing they do is run to Bruce who just goes to John to see if he has any information on the type of demon you are. John does his little investigation on you and immediately recognizes you as a type of psychological demon, so he tells them not to worry about it too much. That doesn't stop them from being warry about you as you follow Tim around. They'd try to make idle chatter here and there but you'd always respond quickly, being too focused on Tim to really care about anyone else. It made it hard to build trust with you so they were never 100% sure you wouldn't cause any harm to Tim. Until one day at least.
Of course there came a time where Tim refused to sleep as he worked on his latest breakthrough. The others had tried to get him to away from his lab and into a bed or at the very least the kitchen to eat a meal but it was no use, until you that is. Around the 29th hour of Tim's all-nighter the others had heard some commotion from his lab. Going to check it out they found you nagging him to take a break and rest while reminding him about the rules of your covert contract. When he'd ignored you one last time you took matters into your own hands, possessing Tim and forcing him to get up and take care of himself. The others were definitely freaked out until they noticed you simply cleaning up his desk before moving to the bathroom where you made sure his teeth were brushed and his face was washed. You'd made him take a shower, eat, hydrate, and all in all just did menial tasks for him, making sure he was taken care of. It boggled everyone's minds somewhat but it sort of confirmed Johns suspicions that you wouldn't be a threat to anyone, let alone Tim.

Not a Chance in the Realms
October 8: Outnumbered (Whumptober)
A 1-1.5 on my whump scale (see the series definition for the scale)
Chatter broke out as soon as the static filled the screen and continued as Batman and Constantine moved back onto the stage. Back at the chairs, Nightwing could see Wonder Woman messing with a remote and a moment later the video clicked off as Batman stepped forward to speak.
“So, as you can see, we’ve got quite the situation at hand. Now I’m sure many of you are wondering if what he said was true. I know that was my first question. To answer that, I’m going to let Constantine take the floor.” That said, Batman stepped back some as Constantine stepped forward. And it was in that moment that Nightwing realized just how serious this was. In all the years he’d known Constantine he’d never seen the man look this serious before. And, if Nightwing wasn’t mistaken, the man was completely sober. Which was worrying in and of itself. This was big.
“It’s true alright.” Constantine’s gruff voice cut across the room. “The Infinite Realms is just as the king said. It’s the place where all afterlives reside as well as the glue that holds all of reality together. This means that the dead of every world in our universe, and the dead of every other universe in existence go there. If they decide to go to war against us there’s very little we could do against those numbers, especially since most of our weapons and abilities won’t even touch a being of the Infinite Realms, let alone end one. And those that die on our side just add to their numbers. And that’s not even mentioning King Phantom himself.” Constantine shook his head with a grimace. “Phantom is a young king. By my reports he’s had the throne for less than a decade, but the Realm and its people love him. The previous King, Pariah Dark, was a tyrannical dictator that ended up having to be sealed away for the safety of the Realms as well as the mortal planes. It took several Ancients, beings of immense age and power, to seal him away. But he was somehow freed several years back. That’s when Phantom took him down. From what I heard it took King Phantom under half an hour to take the old king down. Single Handed. He’s not someone we want to mess with.”
“So what are we supposed to do?” A voice Nightwing didn’t quite recognize from the front of the crowd called. Constantine huffed and crossed his arms.
“As far as I’m concerned we evacuate who we can, but if the United States is dumb enough to refuse to repeal this mess then we let them lie in the bed they made.”
“And these Ecto Acts?” Another vaguely familiar voice asked, sounding a bit desperate.  “Are those real too?” There must have been some sort of discussion earlier about who would explain what, because Constantine didn’t bother looking to check before he stepped back to let Batman take over once more.
“Unfortunately, yes.” Batman informed them grimly. “I’m not sure how they slipped by us, but about five years ago a set of laws were quietly passed that labeled all so-called ecto-entities as non-sentient and dangerous. Under these laws the Ghost Investigation Ward have the right to do whatever they deem necessary to understand and deal with the threat posed by these beings. And they deem anyone with a reading of 5 or higher on their meters as an ecto-entity. No matter if they’ve got a beating heart or not.”
Unsurprisingly, this did not go over well with the crowd. It was one, already horrid, thing to say that these beings from another dimension were all non-sentient, but to tack on that any one of their own people who were contaminated enough were also non-sentient was just insane. How had this gotten passed?
“How do they measure that?” That was Cyborg’s voice, probably wanting to get ahold of the tech so they could figure out who all would fall under this category.
“We’re still working that out, but—“

Hello! ’Tis I again, the one with the Many Questions about your Fae!Dick. I just finished reading through all of your Selkie!Jason content and had a few thoughts.
Firstly, would anyone in the Justice League ever find out about Jason’s iteration of Robin being a selkie? I’d imagine that both Bruce and Jason would try yo hide it, but… *shrugs* just a thought.
Secondly, the idea that selkies are sacred to Atlanteans (and the thing with Orm) made me wonder if Jason ever has any other encounters with Atlanteans? Perhaps the court even insists on checking in on him, to make sure he’s being properly cared for?
And thirdly, what does Jason do with his coat when he’s in costume? Selkie coats are known to change shape for the wearer (from what I’ve heard of selkie lore), so maybe it took on the form of his Robin costume? Or would he just leave it with Alfred whenever he was on a mission, because it might get damaged or stolen?
Once again, you are an amazing writer and I love reading anything you write! Thank you so much!
Hi! Thank you so much 💚 I’m happy you enjoy my random thoughts and fics 💚💚💚
I don’t think Batman (or Jason) would allow anyone to “find out” per se, but some Atlanteans are able to recognize specific Selkie “tells”.
And selkies are a bit of a gray zone where Atlantean laws are concerned. They belong to the sea as much as they do the land, but they’re very elusive creatures and “spook” easily. It’s very rare even for Atlanteans to happen across one, so when they do it’s a bit like seeing a unicorn out in the open.
Theoretically the Atlanteans would have tried to establish some kind of law protecting selkies, but considering they come and go as their fancy strikes it’s just very difficult to realize. And on top of that selkies value their freedom and being under the watchful eye of the Atlanteans, even in a benevolent way, would feel too much like a chain weighing them down.
But yeah, Jason and Orm would totally keep in touch with each other. Orm because… well, that’s a Selkie child. Must protect.
And Jason would get too much of a kick out of the way Bruce’s jaw ticks whenever the Atlantean is around to allow the friendship to fade away.
As for what Jason does with his pelt, he definitely wouldn’t wear it as a substitute Robin suit. He might wear it as some kind of undershirt (safely hidden by the armor of his uniform) but usually he’d just leave it at the manor. Especially after he realizes he can trust the batfam with it ✨🦭

404 Pulse Not Found
Hopefully this version won’t make y’all feel like you’re having a stroke when you read it.
Jon was worried about Damian. Namely because his friend’s heart..shouldn’t really be doing that. Granted, it hadn’t suddenly started weird stuff during their sleepover today. No, for as long as Jon had known Damian, his friend’s heart had a tendency to slow down really, really slow, to the point where anyone could be forgiven for thinking that it forgot how to pump blood. It wasn’t super worrying at first either, because as far as Jon was concerned, it helped him find Damian, because it was different from everyone else’s heartbeat, which was great! Or, it was great until he double-checked that human hearts aren’t supposed to slow down this much, let alone so randomly, and that it meant something is definitely, probably lethally, wrong.
But his dad didn’t mention it even though he definitely heard it, which meant that Bruce knew about it. Which meant that it wasn’t anything to worry about, and it would probably be rude to ask about something personal like that if it was already being handled.
And then the humming started, and Jon was worried again. It started only a month or two ago, and it was....eerie? Pretty? Both, if he was honest. But now the humming was there, and the only time he could actually hear it was when Damian’s heart stopped. Not slowed down, just full-on stops for probably way too long. If he had to guess, the sound of the heartbeat didn’t block it out because Jon couldn’t hear it between beats, but it only started up when his heart wasn’t doing anything. Which is kinda weird, because if it was a pacemaker or something, he’d expect it to sound like most other pacemakers and organ replacements he’d heard when they were on.
Here he was, worrying about his best friend while playing Mario Kart in the manor with him, while his heart hadn’t had a single beat for almost a minute and a half now, and the buzzing was in full swing. It kept like that, on and off, for the rest of the tournament, and honestly, Jon wanted to know what was going on. He also knew that Damian wouldn’t tell him about whatever medical condition this is, no matter how much he asked, pleaded, or begged.
So, he figured, he might as well try the Big Bat himself. Was it possibly very rude to go behind his friend’s back to get this information? Yes. Was it likely that he would only be told stuff he already knew? Yes. Would it soothe his nerves slightly to be told that they’re handling whatever this is? Also yes. So, he got up, and told Damian that there’s something he wanted to ask Bruce.
Bruce wasn’t hard to find, he was in his favorite study, and in a blink, Jon was politely knocking on the door. He really wanted to barge in and know right now, but his mom and dad taught him better than that.
“Come in.”
Jon opened the door, and was suddenly much more nervous. As he stepped in, Bruce turned to him. “Sorry to bother you, Mr. Wayne, but, um...” God, why did his brain have to empty itself of any social skill right now? He closed the door, mostly to have something, anything, to do, but also because it probably wouldn't be a good idea to have this conversation with the door open.
“It’s alright if you need to gather your thoughts; Take your time with it.”
He really couldn’t, because if he stood here just trying to figure out how to say this in a polite way he’d be standing here all day, and probably most of tomorrow. It did, however, take a few seconds to figure out how to ask it bluntly. “Why does Damian’s heart keep stopping?”
Bruce froze. This probably wouldn’t have scared him as much as did right now if it wasn’t for two things: 1) Batman was the one who usually stayed statue-still, not Bruce, and 2) Bruce freezing like that didn’t really make sense because that’s something he would expect Jon to be able to detect, especially if there’s some kind of electronic implant involved, and he would usually be able to answer immediately.
When the man finally moved again, it was only because his brow furrowed. “Damian’s last full medical examination was three weeks ago, and his vitals were well within normal range.”
Now Jon was confused. “I’m pretty sure human hearts are supposed to do sixty to a hundred beats a minute, not like five seconds per beat off and on, or just stopping for a whole minute. But it’s been going on since I first met him, so it seems normal for him. It’s been happening more often, and I kind of want to know what’s going on. I know he wouldn’t tell me, so I figured I should ask you what’s going on.”

Bruce frowned slightly, and he seemed concerned, maybe. It was hard for Jon to tell what he actually felt, but he was pretty sure Bruce was extremely concerned. This assumption was backed by the man’s heart-rate skyrocketing. (Jon did not know that Bruce was internally screaming for a number of reasons, not the least of which being that he knew a perceived flaw or failing like a serious medical condition is something that Damian would be either too prideful, or too afraid to admit to having.)
“Thank you for telling me. I was not aware that Damian was having heart problems. You said it was for- Jon?”
Bruce didn’t know? He didn’t- oh god so that wasn’t a- “It’s not a pacemaker or artificial organ or something???”  Bruce’s brows drew closer together, now visibly confused and concerned. “To my knowledge, there’s no medical equipment in his chest. Did you hear a pacemaker?”  “N-! No. That’s one of the things I wanted to ask you about. I thought it might be some cutting-edge medical tech because it doesn’t sound like any replacement or assistance machine I’ve heard.” Oh god, Bruce is probably so mad at him for not telling him something was wrong with Damian sooner. Fuck. Okay, how to calm down a probably-angry Batman?
Uh....information! Isn’t information like those really fancy pet treats to the bats and birds? Okay, information. What information does he start with? He already said Damian’s heart had been doing this for as long as Jon had known him, a-wait. He hadn’t said what he was hearing that he thought was a machine, he should start there. “There’s a humming that starts whenever his heart stops beating. It usually takes a second or two, but when it does, it’s a pretty sure sign that it’s not going to start for another six-ish seconds or so at least. It stops just before his heart starts beating again. The longest his heart stopped was close to two minutes, but it doesn’t stop often or, I guess it does, but it’s not like an hourly thing.
“It happens kind of all over the place. I’ve never heard it stop when he’s already injured, and I think it happens less often when he’s tired, but when he’s asleep his heart definitely slows way down.” He briefly fidgeted with his hands. Why does remembering stuff have to be so hard when he actually has to tell someone?!? “And, um, he acts like nothing is happening, which is why I thought you guys already knew and were handling it. Not- not that it’s your fault that I didn’t say anything! I still should’ve told you about this sooner, and-”
Bruce held up a hand, and Jon snapped his mouth shut so fast the clack of teeth was audible. The man didn’t seem angry as much as he was tired. Which was fair. Learning that your son’s heart stops on a regular basis would make anyone feel tired. Or at least that seemed like the kind of thing that made parents tired, other than work.
“Jon,” he said, “It’s okay. I appreciate that you came to me with this, and you aren’t in trouble. I will be talking with Damian about keeping important things like this secret, but I’m not angry.” (He was extremely frustrated and immeasurably worried, but not angry.)
Jon still didn’t stop fidgeting -he wasn’t really sure when he’d started- but he was slightly less nervous. He really hoped that Damian would still want to be friends with him after getting him in trouble like this, even if Jon hadn’t thought it would.  Bruce sat up, and Jon quickly left the room so Bruce could actually, you know, get through the door. Because Jon had been awkwardly standing in the doorway the whole time. Maybe he should pay more attention to how his dad treats conversations like this next time some Stern Adult Thing comes up.  It took about a million anxious thoughts and probably a few minutes on their way to talk to Damian about his apparent heart issues for them to run into one of Damian’s....brothers? His brothers’ friend? Jon couldn’t really remember. Didn’t his name start with a D? Or maybe it was an E? Euchre? Wait, no, that’s a card game. Oh no, he and Bruce were talking, he should really pay attention.
“-eah, we’ve met.” The person-of-unknown-relation-to-Damian rubbed his neck a bit sheepishly. “I can’t remember your name, though. Sorry.”
Jon relaxed a little. “It’s okay, I forgot your name, too. I’m Jon.”
“Duke,” he responded, before turning back to the oldest of the group. “Did Damian hide a kitten in the manor again? Or was it a bearded dragon or something this time?”  Bruce sighed. “Evidently he’s been hiding a serious medical condition from us.”
“Oh. Does this have to do with why he looks like he’s made of glowstick goop sometimes?”
What?
“He What-”

can I request #5 from your general prompt list with bale!bruce wayne x fem!reader? maybe you’ve known each other for a while but don’t know he’s batman and there’s some definite tension and one night he doesn’t know what to do after he’s pretty scraped up so he comes to you to tend to his wounds even though you’re not a doctor. And you figure out who he is, only reason he hasn’t told you is to protect you. Maybe the convo gets heated and escalates into a kiss/confession?!

It was two in the morning, and I was in my apartment watching friends in my living room when I heard a window open in the kitchen; being very concerned and very startled, I got up off the couch and grabbed the baseball bat I kept next to the front door, I proceed into the kitchen with the bat in hand, I went to flick on the light, but a low, strained voice spoke up "I wouldn't turn on the light if I were you. You might not like what you see." I saw the figure, and  dropped the weapon "Batman?" I asked and turned on the light; he closed his eyes at the bright light. I gasped, seeing his suit ripped on his left shoulder and right under his ribcage. "What happened!?" I said, as I approached him. "Let's not talk about that," he spoke softly as I looked him over. "Why are you here? Shouldn't you go to the hospital or find someone who can sew you up?" I ased, and he nodded. "I did. I found you" I looked up at him, confused, but assumed that he looked me up. It's not a secret that I have medical experience. "Okay. Come with me" I guided him to my bedroom and told him to sit on the bed, and he obliged. I went to my closet and pulled out my large first aid kit. I grabbed all the things I needed, then went back to Batman. " I know your whole thing is about having a secret identity, but I can't exactly patch you up with that suit on or the mask," he grunted, then nodded. "Yeah...You're right. " I smiled apologetically because I could see the pain in his eyes; it looked familiar for some reason. I went to my closet again to grab a box that says, 'Ex-boyfriend things I need to burn.'
Placing the box on the bed next to Batman, I opened it and pulled out a shirt and a pair of sweatpants "You can put these on. I'll let you change in here" I hear him chuckle as he looked at the words on the box. "Thank you. Come over here for a second before you leave" I do as he asked and stand in front of him as he's was sitting on the edge of the bed. He reached up and took off his mask. "Mr. Wayne?" I say, almost whispering, "How many times do I have to tell you just to call me Bruce when we're alone?" I was at a complete loss for words; everything clicked in my mind as I stepped forward and placed my hand on his cheek, he put his hand on top of mine and smiled sweetly, but the moment is cut short when I remembered that he was bleeding "Hurry up and get changed we don't were the wounds to get infected." He chuckled as I rushed out of the bedroom closing the door.
As Mr. Way-Bruce was getting changed out of his suit, I sat on my couch "...Wow...My Boss- Friend? is Batman...This makes so much sense. Wait- So does that mean my father knows? Did my dad know Bruce was Batman, and then Bruce blackmailed him?-" My thoughts are cut short when Bruce came out of my bedroom. "I can explain everything to you if you want. But after you patch me up." I shoot off the couch and returned to the bedroom with Bruce. He sat back down on the edge of the bed, and I grabbed some alcohol wipes. It wasn't until I stood between his knees that I realized he didn't put on the shirt. The man is bleeding and bruised, and here I was, ogling him. "Y/n?" I shook my head as I snapped out of my daze "S-Sorry. This will be cold," I warned as I started to clean up his wounds, he flinched and quietly hissed at the contact. I stitched up his side, then his shoulder. "All done," I announced with a reassuring smile as I look at him. Our faces were inches apart. "Thank you..." he said quietly; I only now noticed his arms were loosely wrapped around my waist. "I..." I stopped myself before I say something I'd regret. "You...?" he asked as I placed the needle down on the bedside table; I tried to move so he could get up, but he pulled me closer. And kissed my cheek. "I hope you understand that I couldn't go to the hospital. I had no one else to turn to" I nodded and placed my hands on his face; he smiled tiredly and put his head on my shoulder, my hands gently played with his hair. "Why don't you just stay here for the night," I asked, and he nodded. "I can go sleep on the couch," Bruce suggested, looking back at my face, "What? No, You take the bed, Bruce. You've had a long night," He sighed, probably knowing i'd say something like that. "Let's not argue about who sleeps where. I'm too tired right now," He spoke with a smirk playing on his lips. Tightened his grip on my waist, he leaned back onto my bed, pulling me on top of him. "I- Bruce-" He cut me off quietly, shushing me. His fingers gently rubbed small circles on my back. "I'll explain everything in the morning," he said in a whisper, and I nodded tiredly. My head rested in the crook of his neck, on the non-stitched side of the course. We quickly drifted off to sleep.
I groaned as I felt the morning sun on my face; tiredly, I opened my eyes to see Bruce standing in front of my window with a cup of coffee in his hand, still just in those baggy sweat pants that barely stayed on his hips. "Good morning..." I breathed with a yawn as I sat up; I looked down, realizing I was no longer in the same clothes I had the night before. "Hmm.." Bruce turned to me and sipped his coffee with a smile. "Can I know how I got into this shirt?" I asked him, rubbing my eyes.
"You don't remember?" he questioned, as he chuckled,
that sweet noise filling my ears. "No...So care to explain?"
"Ha, alright. About an hour or so after we fell asleep, I woke up and decided it'd be good if we laid in the bed properly" He stopped speaking to sip his coffee and sit down next to me.
"So I woke you up and asked you if you wanted to change out of your jeans and put on Pajamas; you mumbled something like 'Sure thing, bossman,' so I got you to sit up on the bed so I could get you a shirt to change into. When I turned around to give you the shirt, you were struggling to unbutton your pants, I asked you if you needed help, but you sternly told me, "No, batman, I can save myself," so I sat the shirt beside you and helped you change after I asked you about twelve times. Eventually, you cooperated, then we returned to bed and passed out" After Bruce finished explaining, my face grew hot with embarrassment.
"Did I really say that stuff?" I asked shyly, and Bruce nodded as he finished his coffee; he leaned in and kissed my head. "It was cute." I groaned and fell backward onto the bed in embarrassment. "By the way, This coffee is horrible." He said as he smiled at me before he, too, fell back onto the bed beside me. I looked over at him and rolled my eyes. "Hey, Don't judge my coffee choices. Not everyone can buy stupidly expensive coffee." I said as I reached out to poke his nose; we laughed as we lay in each other's presence.

Fluff Alphabet - Bruce Wayne x Reader (Headcanon)
Tumblr media
Words: 2839 Pairing: Bruce Wayne x Reader Warnings: Swearing, Q implies smut, mentions Jason’s death/revival Summary: Learn your fluff ABC's with your significant other, Bruce Wayne. Author’s Note: For this, I’m saying you and Bruce started dating after Tim was Robin but before Jason resurfaced. This is mostly based on that when Bruce fell in love, he fell hard. I used this fluff alphabet template from snk-warriors ! (not based on any Bruce, just used PatBat for the gif!)
Bruce / Full Masterlist
Activities - What do they like to do with their s/o? How do they spend their free time with them?As much as he can dread going to galas because he’s been to so many, his perspective has changed since being with you. Sure, Dick, Jason, and Tim (and eventually the others) made them interesting in their own ways, but they’re so much better with you by his side. He also loves relaxing with you, watching a movie in bed, especially after a hard night, and just being with you always makes him happy.
Beauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them? Bruce is enamored with you. He loves every little thing about you and thinks you’re beautiful all over. He could never pick a favorite because he loves everything. Aside from outer beauty, he appreciates how open you are to everything that’s thrown your way and thinks that is beautiful, too. Hell, when you first found out he was Batman, before freaking out, you just said, “oh.”
Comfort - How would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?Bruce has learned how to handle his own panic attacks, so he has some ideas when he finds you breaking down for the first time. You were hidden in one of the libraries, trying not to disturb anyone while trying to calm yourself down. He didn’t intend to find you like that, but he happened to walk past the library and heard crying. When he realized what was going on, he sat next to you, arms around you and whispering things he thought would help calm you down. Good affirmations, song lyrics, whatever he could think of. Just being there for you helps, and he’ll sit with you for as long as it takes.
Dreams - How do they picture their future with their s/o?Bruce didn’t expect it at first, but he’s been thinking about your life and future together for a while. Sometimes it freaks him out that he can have this commitment of a relationship that he hopes lasts, but then he realizes that if you didn’t leave when you found out about him being Batman, could anything else make you leave?
Equal - Are they the dominant one in the relationship, or rather passive? He likes to think he is, but everyone (including him) knows you’re the one in charge. Though, you let him think he’s in charge…well, sometimes ;)
Fight - Would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How are they fighting? If Bruce is one thing, it’s stubborn. He’s very determined to be right, and though he hates arguing with you, he hates admitting he was wrong even more. But over the years and as you both have grown in maturity and understanding that you know you guys have to talk about things to get through the hardest of times, and he usually forgives pretty easily (as do you).
Gratitude - How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?It definitely took him a little bit, but he fully sees everything you do for him. You keep him grounded and sane when the life of Bruce Wayne and Batman become too much, and he will never take that for granted.
Honesty - Do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?Obviously, the whole secret identity thing was a secret for a while. But once he told you (pretty early in your relationship because he almost kept slipping up), the only thing he keeps secret anymore is when he gets hurt and when he’s in deeper in a case than first expected. You always get him to spill the secrets, though. One look of concern, and he folds.
Inspiration - Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?Bruce definitely changed when he met you. He was always seen as a playboy who would never be tied down, but when he met you, he couldn’t think about anyone else. After being together for a while, he didn’t have to worry about the playboy cover anymore, and he was much happier overall. At first, the Justice League didn’t know what caused Batman’s demeanor with them to change so much, but once they figured out it was a new relationship, they were ecstatic. You had such an effect on him that it changed Bruce and Batman (though Batman was less noticeable), but Bruce wouldn’t change it for the world.
Jealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?For Bruce, it really depends on the situation. However, most times, he does get jealous easily. It’s about how he handles it. If you’re at a party and some random person is flirting with you, he tries to be sly and put his arm around you or kiss your cheek. Usually, it’s enough to give them the hint, and they leave you alone. But with the more determined people, he also has to be a bit more aggressive. If they don’t get the hint with his subtle moves, he tells them to shut it down. If that doesn’t work, he cuts off the whole conversation (muttering something about “respect”), and you two leave the area. It was funny the first time you met the League, and some of them were looking at you in a certain way. They teased him about his jealousy for weeks (and sometimes still do).
Kiss - Are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?Bruce is definitely a good kisser; he has had some practice. That’s how he’s gotten his cover to work so well for so long, right? But when you first kissed, it was different than you expected. Of course, you’ve read the gossip sites seeing so many girls talk about their kiss with Bruce Wayne, and it all seemed so different from when you two first kissed. You met at a party, not even realizing he was the Bruce Wayne at first, and he was stunned by you since the first conversation. You kept running into each other, and one night, after an unexpected deep conversation, he made the move.
Love Confession - How would they confess to their s/o?He’s always been a bit nervous about love and was even more nervous when he realized he had some scary, loving feelings about you. But he was too scared to ever say it. One night, you two got into an argument because you felt like he was hiding things from you (to be fair, he was, but it wasn’t what you thought). You were worried that he didn’t trust you and that your relationship wouldn’t go anywhere. You told him that you love him, but you can’t keep going in a relationship where he’s hiding things. He decided right then and there that he loved you so much that he let you in on every secret he had. You definitely freaked out internally (refer to B for external) when he told you he’s a vigilante crime fighter (and so are his kids), but he trusted you enough to tell you everything. It proved his love and trust.
Marriage - Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like? It’s never been something you guys needed; you pretty much act like a married couple anyway. But it would make things legally easier, so there were a few benefits. One of the benefits is Bruce being able to say that he’s your husband. He proposed very casually, keeping it chill and private between the two of you. There were no kids in the house, and you two were just enjoying your time together. He left you in the library for a moment while he snuck away, and after a few minutes, he came back and showed you the small box. He kept it simple and sweet, with just “Will you marry me?” Even though it was casual, it still caught you by surprise. The marriage is a lot like your dating status, as you two are very close, but not much changed besides the legalities.
Nicknames - What do they call their s/o?He likes to stick to simpler names like “hon” and  “darling,” but he struggles when he’s out as Batman. He’s been trying to give you a good codename for years for when he needs to talk to you when he’s out on the field, but nothing has stuck. So it’s safe to say that the majority of the criminals have figured out that Batman has some type of relationship, because who else would Batman be calling “darling?”
On Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings? It’s obvious for literally everyone except Bruce. He may be good at hiding his emotions and masking parts of his personality, but once he fell in love with you, he was the last one to know. He looks at you like he has hearts in his eyes, is so focused on you, and talks about you constantly. He always has his arm around you and makes sure you are protected against anything. Once he realized it, it was like he was hit by a truck. The only person that knew after he did was you.
PDA - Are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?Oh, Bruce loves some light PDA. He’ll brag about you to others for hours, and when you’re at parties together, it’s unusual for him to not be at your side. He’s usually got his arm around you or sneaks small kisses onto your cheek. He’s always been very “flaunting” when he was in his Brucie Wayne era, but even more so now that he has a stable and happy relationship. He wants to show everyone!
Quirk - Some random ability they have that's beneficial in a relationship.(This one is just slightly nsfw). Batman is just a normal guy with a lot of money that allows him to pay for some really cool and interesting gadgets. He doesn’t have superpowers, but he has super cool items that could possibly have double uses. While the gadgets are all only! for! work!, he may break that rule sometimes. One of his most interesting gadgets is the camera contact lenses. They’re very helpful for getting all the details of a case if he misses in the moment, but they also make for…some special moments ;) Not what you were first expecting, but it definitely makes it exciting and certainly a random ability.
Romance - How romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliché or rather creative?Bruce wasn’t known as Brucie “Playboy” Wayne for no reason; he’s the romantic. He may be busy at nights, but he makes sure to make it up to you other nights and days. He’ll plan little dates and surprises; sometimes it’s as simple as having flowers or chocolate delivered in the middle of the day. He can be both creative and cliché, but they both work, and he knows how to make you swoon.
Support - Are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?More than anything! He believes in you sometimes more than you believe in you. No matter what you want and dream of, he’s right there supporting you. Even if he can’t always physically be there, you know he’s so proud of everything you do, and he makes sure you know it. Anytime you’re having doubt, he pulls out all the stops and reassures you that he fully supports and believes in you; you’re doing everything right.
Thrill - Do they need to try out new things to spice up your relationship? Or do they prefer a certain routine?Bruce certainly likes a routine, but he’s not afraid of changing things up if needed. The routine of work, dinner, patrol, relax with you, then bed, always works well, but he also knows it can’t always be that way. He adjusts when things change, which may be random weekdays or holidays where the schedule moves around. However, changing things up is not needed for your relationship.
Understanding - How good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?Bruce has struggled with showing and picking up on emotions, but ever since being with you, he’s gotten much better. He knows you well, can pick up when something’s wrong, and knows when he needs to help or step away. Some days he gets it wrong, and that’s okay, but he’s usually pretty spot on. At least, in the later years, he is. Bruce was much worse at telling when you guys first got together.
Value - How important is the relationship to them? What is it’s worth in comparison to other things in their life?He may not have thought it at first, but after being together for more than just a few months, this relationship is so important to him. You are part of his family, and he doesn’t know how he went so long in life without you and can’t imagine his life now if you weren’t in it. His kids like you, you get along with all his friends, and you make the boring parties he has to go to so much more fun. It would destroy him if you weren’t in his life, and he is so grateful and values you so much.
Wild Card - A random Fluff Headcanon. You and Bruce started dating before Jason resurfaced, but Bruce told you all about him. Dick and Tim really liked you, and he kept saying that Jason would’ve loved you, too. You were a bit insecure around the kids at first, trying to gain their approval (even though it didn’t matter, they were just happy that Bruce was in love), and it got even harder when you finally learned the Batman secret. He explained everything to you, including Jason’s death and eventual revival. You were shocked when Bruce told you that Jason was actually alive and in Gotham, and you were scared out of your mind to meet him. Not because he’s the Red Hood, no, because you’re dating Bruce! You didn’t have to worry about meeting him for a while because there was still bad blood between Jason and Bruce, but the day Jason showed up at the Manor was shocking. He freaked out when he found you in the Batcave, and started questioning who you are and why you were there. You tried to explain yourself, but Jason wouldn’t hear it. Luckily, Bruce wasn’t too far behind Jason’s arrival and quickly explained that you two are dating, which ended up with him rambling about how much he loves you and that you know everything. It didn’t take long for Jason’s approval to be obvious after that.
XOXO - Are they very affectionate? Do they love to kiss and cuddle?Oh yeah, Bruce loves a good makeout session followed by some sweet cuddling. He’s very busy between Wayne Enterprises and Batman, but he makes sure there’s time for you two to be together. Before there was a whole army of people involved in Batman Inc., you two could be found pretty much anywhere in the manor or cave kissing or cuddling. But with so many kids around now, you two tend to make sure you’re in your room. (Even just cuddling, as it usually leads to lots of kissing. And you don’t need Damian screaming again.)
Yearning - How will they cope when they're missing their partner? He won’t admit it, but he pouts. Maybe not an actual “lip pout,” but he really does hate being away from you. Again, he’s very business with both jobs, so for any extended trip for either Wayne Enterprises or the Justice League, he’s upset about it. But he knows once he gets home, it’s going to be the best time just being able to be with you.
Zeal - Are they willing to go to great lengths for the relationship? If so, what kind of? He’s Batman; of course, he’ll do anything for you. Not too long after you two went public with your relationship, you were targeted by some low-level criminals Brucie Wayne could’ve taken out. But he still sent in the big guns and made sure Batman was there to send a message to not fuck with Bruce Wayne and his family. He’d go to the ends of the Earth for you, making sure you’re safe and protected. One time he almost accidentally revealed his identity when you were targeted for the first time in years. But he wouldn’t have cared about that as long as you were safe in the end.

Just a random idea that I thought would be cute, if you don’t mind writing for it. So y’know how in Btas Jonathan and Harley are shown to have a sort of friendship? Well, I could imagine Harley learning about Jonathan’s relationship with the reader and pestering him about it to no end. Can’t really blame her considering Jonathan is, well, not the easiest to close to.
I like to imagine she find out about the relationship by pure accident too, since Jon doesn’t seem like the type to openly discuss his personal business like that. You can add on to this if you want, this is just the basics since this just popped into my head lol
WAIT THIS IS SO FUNNY
Also heyyyy I'm back in class I hate college
Secret Secrets Are No Fun
BTAS!Johnathan Crane x Reade. Plus Harley!
----
It was pretty late in the day, yet nothing had happened. Gotham was quiet, not a rogue to be heard. Hell, even the batman decided today he'd take the day off to do.. whatever that guy does. Bruce Wayne seems to be having fun though, maybe he should take a page from his book.
This wouldn't sit with Harley. With Ivy taking the entire day to manage her garden, and the Joker basically kicking her out for the day, what was a woman to do? She'd get kicked out any restaurant, and museums are so boring when you're not particularly in the mood. So a walk will do just fine, "You two want some walkies? Let's see if we can snag some hotdogs for ya!" Harley giggled, Bud and Lou excitedly rushing toward the door and crying in anticipation to begin. They're more like dogs now than Hyenas, she swears..
The funniest thing is, though they don't mean it, some rogues stay in touch. That's definitely the case with her and Johnathan, or as the citizens of Gotham know him as that fucking creep with the potato sack costume the Scarecrow. So why not stop by for a visit? Company is always nice! And Bud and Lou are the sweetest babies, who could say no? Once the trio finally stopped at the corner of his residence, Harley noticed the front door open. Before she went to walk, she saw someone unfamiliar walk out. Probably just a henchman or something, nothing to freak about.
"I'll be right back, okay? I'll pick up dinner for tonight, and if you haven't put down your work before I get back I'm gonna force relaxation on you!" The figure giggled, grabbing Johnathans hands to hold softly in theirs. "I promise, just after I write this one reaction down. I'll have it all put away once you're back." And then, Harley covers her mouth so they don't hear the gasp. THEYRE KISSING? WHAT THE FUCK, IS THIS ALLOWED?
After the stranger walks off, not really even noticing the bright blonde and two giant "dogs", she hops out the bushes and giggled "Johnathan Crane! I didn't realize PDA was on the menu for tonight?" She teased. Johnathan looked at Harley and groaned "Hello, Harley.. it's nothing to concern you." He grumbled, pretty embarrassed that she saw everything. "Oh really?" Harley giggled, waltzing right into the dilapidated room. "What did I say about the Hyenas?!" Johnathans gasped as Bud and Lou pushed past him. "Nothing to concern you." Harley laughed, sitting down on a ripped up couch. "Now, tell me everything! They're such a looker too! So kind and really looks at you the way that softens a cold icy heart." Harley fawns, Johnathan blushing "You think so..?" He quickly closes the door and continues writing in his already cramped journal.
"So.." Harley sprawled herself out "Who was that? I didn't realize you were seeing someone, do they know about your work?" She pestered, Johnathan groaning in annoyance "just a significant.. other" He replied, trying to be as vague as possible. Harley screamed, jumping up and going over to the red head to grab his shoulders "Oh my god! You are dating! For such a long time I thought you had a stick up your ass." She laughed, Johnathan now burning red with embarrassment. "They're awfully attractive, how'd you pull them even? No offense, you're just kinda-" "Don't continue that sentence." He growled. Harley shrugged, grabbing an empty box "Come on, let's clean up. I don't want to be the reason why your Significant Other gets on your ass."
With everything cleaned up and ready for Johnathan's date night (minus the vials Bud may or may not have eaten), the duo plopped onto the couch in exhaustion. "Alright.. Lab is clean. Now would you-" just as Johnathan got up, he heard a few knocks at the door. As the door opens, Harley sees the stranger in all their glory, whistling like a cartoon wolf. "You are quite a looker. Ciao, Johnny!" And just like that, she's off.
".. Was that"
"Yep."
"You know her?"
"I do."
"Huh.. I learn new things about you every day."

Prompt idea: Danny and Jazz are related to Barbara Gordon.
Maddie Fenton is Jim Gordon's wife's cousin, which makes her kids Barbara's second cousins. Jim doesn't want to alienate Babs from her maternal relatives so they paid a visit on Jim's day off... Or at least Jim wished it was a day off, Jim took one look at the safety hazard and child endangerment of a home and decided then and there his taking these kids home with him, batman be damned. (And he still hasn't heard about the holiday depression, hate crime and blantant war cry yet). There are day's where Jim wonder's if it was the right call to bring this kids to Gotham, the kids sure think it is!
hmm, so to start I'd say that similar with Vlad, Maddie and Jack kinda just ghosted their families. not intentionally but once they became a couple, brain cells kinda faded and they're either off inventing or being totally in love. you have to be the one to put an effort in to stay in their lives and not everyone has the time or energy for that. add that they're ghost obsessed and obnoxious, and were already skating the line of legal before they got together and the Fenton's aren't talked to much. actually that could explain why they so easily believed Dani was a cousin. they have extended family they just don't pay enough attention to it to know what going on in it. the only reason Aunt Alicia had Maddie present for her divorce was that Alicia called her. they tend to forget you exist until you remind them. likewise with Vlad contacting them. they probably just lost track of time until he reminded them ‘hey we used to be friends >:)’ and then it was like no time had passed to them even though it's literally been years.
Jim's wife didn't make an effort to stay in contact with the Fenton’s. that part of the family wasn't even aware that the Fenton had children. after Barbara Sr. walked out on them (on Christmas too) Jim made an effort to track her down and keep the family together. his effort lead to him contacting the Fenton's and eventually trying to have a relationship with Barbara Sr. extended family. the kids deserved to have a family after all and he didn't think he was being a sufficient enough father with how much he had to work. so he agrees to bring the kids and visit, and see the portal that Jack raved about for twenty minutes. note, at no point in this phone call did Jim learn that Maddie and Jack had kids. so the family arrives and that's a surprise. the first of many bad surprised. because, speaking as someone who's seen his fair share of them, the Fenton house is like a mad scientist's lair. the weapons, the glowing liquids, the invasion of Fenton tech in every room, the ops center, and worst of all the actual lab that has a whole as portal to another dimension in it. equally concerning is that when he offered cook he found almost no uncontaminated food in the cupboard and was attacked by possessed ham when he opened the fridge.
when he finally meets the kids, Jazz and Danny, he starts asking some definitely pointed 'is this child abuse' questions, ones he asks kids he meets at work. Danny isn't trusting enough to answer beyond what amounts to 'I love my parents, get out of my house'. but Jazz has 'a finally I've been validated' moment and brings out the psych file on all her parents bad behavior, somewhat naively not realizing this will effect her parents custody over them. she kinda thinks everything will be solved if her parents enter therapy and counselling and calm down on the ghost stuff. it didn't occur to her she was describing criminal behavior to a cop. yeah. Jim Gordan has encountered too many super villains to let these kids stay here.
and sadly for the kids the law is really on his side. it seems almost like the Amity Police were waiting for a charge to properly stick on the Fenton's and once they could throw the book at them, they throw it hard. it becomes a whole thing. Jazz is smacked with guilt and regret. Danny is pissed at everyone; Jazz, Gordan, his parents, the cops. Phantom might actually be spotted trying to destroy evidence and get the Fenton's off but there's too much evidence and too much bias, and the closest to freedom the Fenton parents are going to get is a trip to Arkham. especially because every attempt they make to prove their innocence reveals more illegal stuff they were obliviously doing. it's a losing battle and a mess for everyone involved.
eventually the portal is properly shut down, their research was seized by the government, and Vlad comes around to gloat like an asshole even as he doesn't successfully get custody of the kids. because if Danny's parents are going to jail danny's going to make damn sure Vlad goes with them. which you know further complications. Danny doesn't directly reveal Vlad's secret, he just reveals the crimes, with Tucker's tech help and leads them towards the fact that Vlad's a meta and has a lab and a whole other portal in his basement. getting charges to stick to Vlad is a whole lot harder, and this time Danny is just flying around in the background, helping the police and making sure Vlad can't superpower his way out of the situation. the police end up concluding Vlad's powers are from ecto-contamination so anti-ecto weapons and shields work on him and are used to keep him contained. they don't know he's a halfa at least and he's not interested in revealing himself or Danny because that reveal would take him out of prison and onto a lab table. right now it's important that the government believe. he ends up in Arkham with the Fenton's wearing one of those belts that shorts out his powers and usually in a cell with a ghost shield. the guards have anti ghost tech added to their uniform. Jack spends a lot of time annoying him while there.
i know you said the kids are happy but i don't think they are. Jazz is wracked with guilt because she helped get her parents arrested and broke up their already broken family. Danny, as mentioned, is literally pissed at everyone. he was taken from his home and his job, he just lost his parents, his best friends are now a city away, he doesn't even have ghost to take out his aggression on. the government having his parent research is also going to be a major issue later, especially now that they know ecto-contamination can give people ghost powers. a lot of that is going on out of sight rn though. will a portal eventually be opened in Gotham? probably. will it effect the lazarus pit? absolutely. is both of these things going to be a problem for everyone? haha, yeah.
meanwhile you have Barbara dealing with the abandonment of her mother, and her father's abrupt adoption of two more kids. like she gets why they couldn't stay with their parents, she also saw that house. but adding two traumatized children to the mix isn't going to help keep their family together. especially when Jim is still working long hours and they're all just left alone in the house together. and James Jr. has sociopathic tendencies and was low key the reason his mom walked out. i think it's entirely safe to say they he doesn't want these two strangers in his house. Jim is still grieving about his wife leaving too and he is not in a good place to be taking care of kids. he's trying but he's not around enough and basically throwing himself into his work hoping things will be better when he gets home. he's trying to do right by them but he's also now a single parent supporting four kids. Jazz and barb do what they can to help by getting part time jobs but both want to go to college and leaving Danny and James alone in a house together doesn't bode well.
i definitely see Danny and James fighting hard and a lot. James basically just on principle and because they’re ages are close enough that he can get away with messing with Danny. Danny because he clocked James as a fruitloop from the beginning and doesn’t like being harassed. unfortunately James is manipulative enough that Danny ends up taking the blame for their fights and broken things a lot of the time. Danny receives the label troubled kid and it’s a whole thing, especially with his history of Problematic Behaviour at Casper. Jim tries to get Danny into counseling but the psych programs in Gotham are... yeah. it’s not super helpful.
i’m having a bit of trouble with the timeline because i don’t know when Barbara’s mother left or how old barb was. but canonically at least in the new fifty-two which is the timeline we’re using, Barb is the same age as Bruce. i’m kinda clocking her at 17 or 18 at the time they adopt Danny and jazz, making her and Jazz around the same age. they’re also adopted when Danny is around 15-16. i’m going to say James is a few years younger than Danny. Bruce adopts a 10 year old Dick Grayson when he’s 25, meaning Danny would be around 22-23 when batman gets his first robin. the age that Bruce became batman is a mixed number, most saying he was 26 in the new 52 beaning Dick was adopted before Bruce became batman? but the impression i got from most of the comics was he adopted robin after... unsure about that. we’ll say it happened the same year. Bruce was barely a year into superhero when he finds and adopts a child.
my point is, all the Robins are baby children to Danny. they’re tiny. they shouldn’t be doing hero work. even Dani looks around twenty now. infants. is it hypocritical of him to be treating these heroes as children when he himself was a child when he started fighting? yes and no. he is being that bitch about how young they are, but he doesn’t want these kids to have the kind of childhood he had. he doesn’t know how he survived being a fourteen year old super hero. technically he didn’t.
anyway i’m going to say Danny gets one quiet year where he gets to settle in with the Gordan's, read; hate everything and fight with James. then the government open a portal under Gotham (it’s the nearest major city to Amity and also pretty fucking haunted). so boom Danny is back to the hero biz, slightly rusty and in a new town with new rules. sneaking should be harder in Gotham, but Jim isn’t home enough to notice. Jazz and Barb are doing their best at college and worrying about the boys. Jazz despite her Ivy League dreams ended up sticking closer to Gotham just to look after her brother and to not fuck their budget all to hell. she dreams of maybe going to Harvard as a graduate student but that feels a long way off. the problem with sneaking out successfully is that James is a snitch and Danny has to make a deal with the devil so stop James from selling him out. James doesn’t realize Danny is Phantom but has noticed Danny’s scary eyes and basically concluded he has similar ecto-contamination to Vlad. he also recons Danny doesn’t want that secret out to anyone. note. this is very much a relationship where if Danny wasn’t a hero he could absolutely wreck James. like the only reason James gets away with so much bs is that Danny doesn’t use his powers on humans.
it should also be noted that a 16/17 year old Danny fighting ghosts means that Danny took to heroing in Gotham long before Bruce is. meaning Bruce has another role model. Danny's 'don’t use his powers on humans' rule, means that Danny isn’t doing as much to stop crime as the city needs. he’ll sometimes pop in and scare villains away from doing crimes. show up and spook would be muggers or rapist out of allies. occasionally possess and turn over bank robbers to the police. he’d prevent murders if he sees them. but he’s not really in control of the root causes and he’s rarely in the right warehouses, at the right time to see what’s going down or solve any major mysteries. he leaves the real crime investigation to the unfortunately corrupt police. he’s kinda too wrapped up in his own life to be super aware of the injustice around him. if he sees the problem he interferes but mostly it’s ghost fighting and high school for him
and boy howdy is he wrapped up in ghost stuff. the government wouldn’t just have a ghost portal. they’d have ecto-contaminated people they’ve been experimenting on. some very sick, some developing ghostly powers, sorta like the spectra hospital episode. so Danny would have to deal with those types of characters. there’d be issues with the lazarus pit and league of assassins and he’d probably have to uncover a bunch of stuff about that and possibly get temporarily recruited. new portal probably means new part of the zone, so Danny would be getting new rouges on top of the old ones who swing by for old times sake. the Fenton’s and Vlad have been getting to know the people in Arkham and are probably going to break out at some point. the Fenton’s purely because they want to see their kids/ hear there’s ghosts in Gotham. Vlad to get revenge. also the Fenton’s are going to be fully labeled as villains at this point despite their relative naive innocence. they’re not actively trying to hurt anyone but if they supply Mr. Freeze with ectoplasm to help his wife and if they supply ghost weapons and some regular weapons to their other friends and end up doing wild research with the other scientist in Arkham well they’re just stacking charges. i do want a plot where Mr. Freeze’s wife successfully returns from the dead but as a mostly ghost and a lot of her personality has been lost to obsession. she’s his wife but not the woman he fell in love with. a whole oof situation that’s gonna fuck Mr. Freeze up and probably make him the Fenton parents enemy because they ruined her body. he can’t even have a second chance at this,.Danny’s down to help the new ice halfa (3 quarters? 75 cents? Danny would work on a quippy name later) and he’s sympathetic to mr. freeze and pretty much immune to the whole ice attack thing. so they kinda end up friends who fight when the Fenton’s are involved. Danny is trying to get Mr. Freeze to Jazz for therapy.
will this be a jazz is an Arkham therapist route? maybe? will this be an Arkham guard Danny route? sure if Jazz is there. he’d remain a full time ghost hero on top of that though. and when Bruce finally gets around to being batman and solving crimes, Danny’s would have been the established hero in Gotham for at least seven years. he’s far from a perfect hero by anyone’s definition. he fucks up a lot. but he’s the hero that’s there and enough people have stories of being saved by phantom that his reputation isn’t terrible.it’s not what i would call good, but it’s not terrible. Danny and Bruce are going to overlap a lot and i’m torn on Bruce’s stance on the hero because on the one hand, Danny is a hero. he’s doing more than pretty much anyone else is to save and protect the citizens of Gotham. but he’s not doing enough. he’s not attacking the problem or corruption. he’s not scaring villains straight. he’s too busy fighting ghosts. the ghosts definitely need to be fought, Bruce appreciates it, but sighting ghosts wouldn’t save his parents. you know what, Bruce likes him. he still became a hero because the ‘not enough’ stuff but he’s genuinely glad to have phantom protecting Gotham and he looks up to Danny despite Danny being younger than him. Danny is more tenured. this will definitely be a Danny’s in the justice league story, he gets to be a founding member. they end up working together a lot, two sides of the crime fighting coin.
it also doesn’t take terribly long for Bruce to figure out that phantom is Gordan’s troubled son. he ends up seeing a lot of himself in Danny the person and tries to adopt him despite Danny already legally being an adult and still considering the Fenton’s his parents. after that they just kinda end up as friends. adult friends who just happen to be superheroes on top of everything. now i’m imagining Danny running in the gala circles and it’s funny to me. you know Sam and tuckers careers are going to take off and they’re going to manage to join those circles, ironically only showing up to parties if Danny is there. people tend to sneer at Danny because he’s just the son of a cop, and has a record on top of that. but Danny, Bruce, Sam, and tucker are chaotic together.i also see Alfred as being so proud that Bruce made an honest to got friend that in his mind Danny can do no wrong. Alfred will spoil Danny whenever Danny comes over and Danny’s living standards were already so low that he’d be amazed at anything Alfred offered. Alfred becomes determined to fatten Danny up.not that Gordan doesn’t feed his kids. but single dad cop budget is very different from billionaire budget. i didn’t know i needed Bruce to have an adult friend/ sorta mentor until this. i mean he has the other supers, but this feels a little more equal because Danny is already established and vetted before Bruce becomes a hero. just the fact that they live near each other makes is easier for Bruce to have consistent friendship with Danny.
now lets add big sister barb, except she and Danny don’t know each others secret identities. she gets the impression that phantom is familiar but initially writes it off as her hearing about phantom from jazz and Danny because that’s where the ghost was originally from. note: people assumed phantom followed the portal to Gotham. no one connects it to Danny, especially because the first year Danny is in town he doesn’t really advertise his superhero persona as being around. he still goes on late night flies, but even if someone spotted him they’d write it off as imagining things. but so it takes time for them to find out that they know each other as civilians and it becomes a whole thing. i could imagine both of them going to jazz for help and jazz looking at them, knowing full well who they are, and not realizing that they don’t know who the other is. and it’s a whole comedy of errors. barbs thinks phantom knows jazz because they were from the same town, Danny thinks Batwoman knows jazz because they’re both collage age and jazz is a genius. somehow they come out of this interaction still not knowing each others identity. Bruce also becoming friends with Babs and inviting her to galas, and Babs and Danny attending together as siblings unaware that both their connections to Bruce came from being superheroes and not from the fact that they’re Jim Gordan’s kids. sibling teasing ensues alongside some healthy suspicion and “Danny, please don’t embarrass me” “i’m going to do nothing but embarrass you because you said that.” i’m here for the chaos. i’m here to put off their secret identities being revealed for as long as possible just so when the reveal happens it’s as dramatic as possible.
is it going to be when Babs gets paralyzed? i think it’s going to be when Babs gets paralyzed. Danny will also go feral on the joker for hurting his sister. and it’s a whole different ball game then the joker is used to because Danny has powers. everyone got to used to Danny holding back. the joker isn’t prepared. so jokers hatred of Danny is going to become a thing for a while. joker teaming up with the Fenton’s because they still hate phantom could also be a thing. oof. nothing is easy ever. at some point James is also going to return to the plot knowing more about Danny’s secret than he should, possibly accompanied by Vlad. just a lot of potential drama and chaos to be had.
uncle Danny, being a thing with the Robins would also be cute, since he’s significantly older than all of them. i can see him solemnly giving each kid the “don’t be a teenage superhero speech” and all of them ignoring it and becoming heroes anyway only to years later realize, yeah Danny was right we shouldn’t have been teenage superheroes. Jason ends up fully adopted by Danny after he returns from the dead. like similar powers and this guy had my best interest in mind back before i knew what my best interest were. Danny probably being able to help cure the pit rage either through ghost zone stuff or contacting his villain parents. sounds like a plan. Danny being very anti murder but totally down with Jason just leaving his family after everything? a mood. Danny being a go between Jason and Bruce but not selling Jason’s location out. there’s some drama there. Danny and Jason vibing over trying to murder the joker. hell yeah. Dick trying to be the oldest sibling and use older sibling rights but being over ruled by cool uncle Danny. Steph and Danny bonding over villain parents. Dani visiting and being a cool older sister. Jim unaware that most his family are superheroes. Damian meeting and falling in love with Cujo and tolerating Danny because of this. Tim having an alarmingly large stalker file on Danny and just being a Phantom fanboy in general. the puns.

Mary Todd pt 8
ao3 Beginning Previous
Marinette set her phone down with a click, as she gazed out at the Gotham skyline from her balcony. It really was a beautiful city. The gothic architecture was both intimidating and comforting, like soldiers standing outside the door protecting the treasure within. Marinette considered how this dark and commanding city, was filled with dark and commanding energy, being protected by a dark and commanding guardian. A guardian who was her only connection to her brother.
Marinette closed her eyes as she felt her mind begin to spiral. She groaned as she turned from the skyline and slunk inside. She had been spiraling on and off ever since she had met Batman and Red Hood on the Watchtower. One minute she was eating breakfast, and then the next minute she was fighting the strange storm of anger and self-deprecation that swirled inside with increased vigor every time she thought about her brother and him being here in Gotham.
She was angry. 15 years, and she had never heard a word from either of them. They, both of them, most definitely had the resources to find her and connect with her. They had found her! And they had decided to hide her and hide from her. Marinette began to pace in frustration as Tikki and Plagg shared looks of concern.
She was worried. The brother that existed on the very edges of her memory would have never let their separation stretch this long. And yet he had. And the rumors and whispers that surrounded Red Hood…Something had happened to him. Something that had shaken him to the core and had changed him. Something had made him want to forget about her.
She was confused. Logically, mentally, Marinette knew that she couldn’t have done anything to drive Jay-Jay away. She had been three years old when they had been separated, and he had loved her then. She didn’t remember much of anything from back then. But she did remember that. She remembered that her brother had loved her. But at some point, between then and now, that had changed. Jay-Jay had decided that she no longer needed to be in his life, and all Marinette could think was, “What did I do wrong? How did I drive him away? What did I do wrong?”
Marinette flung herself on the couch and groaned into the cushions as the kwamii came to hover in the air around her. She had left most of the Miraculous in Paris, distributed amongst her allies just in case something went wrong either in Paris or in Gotham. That left Marinette with Kaalki, Tikki, Plagg, and Longg since Kagami was in Japan for a family gathering. The little gods exchanged varying looks before they flew down to comfort their Guardian and friend.
“It’s going to be ok Marinette,” Tikki said, “I’m sure its all going to work out just fine!”
Marinette groaned and turned to look at her oldest ally. “The moment he realized I was Ladybug; he ran from the room as fast as possible.”
“That wasn’t your fault Pigtails,” Plagg said casually, “I think his chaos energy was acting up!” Marinette furrowed her brow and sat up to look at the Kwamii, as he explained, “That brother of yours is practically soaked in chaos energy. It’s practically in his bones. I’m not surprised you didn’t sense it. It’s latent energy, but it was starting to become active when he ran from the room.”
“And you’re only telling me this now?” Marinette groaned.
Plagg shrugged. “You were busy. Besides it’s not the point here. The point is, that your brother is going to love you. Or else I will cataclysm him and the whole city in the process.”
“But Plagg,” Marinette said, “This is your city! You wouldn’t destroy your city, would you?”
“For you,” Plagg said seriously, “I would destroy the world.”
“Plagg!” Tikki admonished, but Marinette and Plagg burst into laughter. Marinette had no doubts that the kwamii loved her and would doing anything for her. But when he said things like that, she couldn’t help but laugh for the pure absurdity of it. No one would destroy the world for her. Not even the god of destruction.
“Come now,” Kaalki said primly. “Now we are just talking in circles. Our strategy for reconnecting with your kin is in place. Now all there is to do is wait. Besides you really should be focusing your commission. The Wayne’s are a very important family, and it would pure idiocy to neglect their connections.”
Marinette smiled and stood with a huff. “You’re right,” she said with a smile that was slowly becoming more genuine. “It’s their move, and there’s nothing I can do until they make it. I need a distraction…Tikki how many hours of sunlight are left?”
“Three hours thirty minutes and twenty-eight seconds,” the goddess said with complete accuracy.
Marinette nodded and grabbed her sketchbook. “The Botanical Gardens are across the street; I think that will be the best place to find inspiration. Don’t you?” The kwami buzzed with excitement, as they each shouted their opinions on the matter as Marinette made her way to the door.
----
Roy signed deeply as he listened to Dick freaking out over the phone. “Well that certainly puts things into perspective.”
“Seriously Roy!” Dick cried, “That’s all you have to say! Jason has a sister! She’s Ladybug! She’s here! And it’s all B and I can do just to keep him in the city, not to mention meeting with her!”
Roy rubbed his temple, as Lian ran through the roses. He smiled at her smile, letting her happy noises calm and ground him to what was happening at that moment. “Look, does Jay know you’re telling me?”
Dick was silent for a beat before glumly admitting, “No.”
“Then me offering my two cents is only going to close him off more. What’s B stance on the whole thing?”
“He wants them to meet. At least once. And Alfred’s giving them both the ‘I told you so’ look, so I reckon he’s been advocating for this ever since they found out.”
“Why doesn’t he want to meet her?”
“Something ridiculous about protecting her, or something, I don’t know, just…I’m worried that if he doesn’t act soon then he’ll lose her forever.”
“Well, you’re not wrong,” Roy said. He sighed trying to wrap his own mind around the fact that he had been flirting with Jason’s sister. And he had not killed him immediately. But that was not the issue at hand. Right now, it wasn’t about him and Marinette, it was about Jason and Marinette. Their relationship came first, so he put his own feelings aside and focused on the problem at hand.
Finally, he said, “Right now, we need to convince him that this isn’t going away. Now that you and I know, we’re not just going to sweep it under the rug like B and A. I don’t think that he doesn’t want to meet her. I think he’s scared. And the only way he’s going to get past that is to get him to face this head on. You need to convince him, that the only way to ensure her safety is to meet her and answer her questions. If he really wants to be out of her life, then he needs to give her closure. And use those exact words Dick, he needs to give her closure, so she will stay away.”
“But we don’t want her to stay away!” Dick exclaimed.
“You want Jason at that meeting!” Roy said purposefully, “Then. Do. As. I. Say…Look I got to go. Lian and I are at the Botanical Gardens and they’re about to close so…”
“Yeah, ok Roy,” Dick said with a sigh. “And thanks, I’ll…I’ll do what I can. And I’ll try to get Jason to talk to you, just in case and all that.”
“Thanks Dick,” Roy said, “We’ll talk later…Ok, bye.”
Roy groaned and ran a hand over his face as he tried to comprehend everything that had just happened. He shook himself, and then turned back to the garden shouting, “Lian time to go…Lian?”
Roy quickly scanned the garden. Lian wasn’t there. She had just been there! How could she just vanish! He dashed through the rows of roses shouting her name. She wasn’t there! She had vanished! There wasn’t a sound. Suddenly, Roy understood why B had put trackers in all of his kids, as he dashed through the flowers and hedges shouting in desperation. His eyes began to sting, as his heartbeat became so strong it hurt. He couldn’t find her. He couldn’t find his daughter in the most dangerous city in the world.
Roy froze in a dazed panic surrounded by the hydrangeas. He panted as he stared vacantly at the blue and pink flowers. His brain had stopped functioning, as he just stood and stared in mindless worry. What was he supposed to do? Who was he supposed to call? What did any of this mean? How…
“Un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq! Cinq, quatre, trois, deux, un!” A clear beautiful voice sang through the garden. The simple children’s tune cut through the silence in Roy’s head and drew him towards it. The tune repeated, as the voice continued to count and soon it was joined by a second voice. A child’s voice. A little girl’s voice. Lian’s voice!
Roy almost took the corner too fast, and he turned to find the most miraculous sight he had ever seen. Lian was sitting in the dirt under the hydrangeas, with tears drying on her face, as Marinette Dupain-Cheng knelt on the path singing gently in French. It was such a welcome and sudden relief, that Roy couldn’t stop the loud breath that escaped him.
Both girls turned to look at him, and with in the second, Lian was running to him and jumping into his arms. Roy laughed and cried a little as Lian rambled out how she had run to see the tulips and had gotten lost in the hedges when she had turned around to see that he wasn’t there. Roy lightly admonished her, telling her to never do that again, as he smoothed her hair and whispered reassurances.
The crunch of gravel turned his attention away from Lian and to the other woman. Marinette Dupain-Cheng, designer to the stars, Ladybug, hero of Paris, and Jason’s sister, was standing before him with a gentle smile and joyous eyes.
“Hi,” she said softly. And Roy laughed.
----
“Daddy,” Lian said brightly, “Can I learn French? Can Miss. Mari teach me? Can she stay with us forever?!”
Marinette tried to hide her giggles, as a clearly very happy but very tired Roy tried to placate his daughter as he cleaned the hot chocolate stains from around her mouth. Who knew this was how her day was going to go? She had just been sitting among the hydrangeas sketching the beginnings of a new dress for Clara Nightingale when she had heard a child crying.
Concerned, she had gone in search for the noise, and found this adorable little girl, sitting in the dirt, half hidden by the large leaves and larger flowers as she cried for her father. Marinette stayed out of reach of the little girl, so as not to frighten her, but with gentle words, and quiet reassurances, she had managed to get the child to laugh, and even start singing with her. Next thing she knew the man she had flirted with at the Gala had barreled through the garden, with a desperate and panicked look in his eyes. If Lian had not immediately run to him, Marinette would have attempted to block the girl from view. But as it was, she was genuinely pleased at such a heartwarming sight as a father and daughter reunited.
Now all three of them were enjoying some hot chocolate and coffee at a near by café. “So,” Marinette said, once Lian was distracted by her dad’s phone, “Why Gotham? Why not Star City?”
Roy took a deep breath as he shifted in his seat. “I…couldn’t stay there. Oliver…well we’re not on the best terms. But I can’t just start over! Lian and I…We need to be surrounded by people we trust. People who can keep me accountable. Unfortunately, those people are either in Star City or Gotham and well…”
“You can’t stay in Star City,” Marinette nodded her understanding.
Roy sighed, “It’s not ideal. But it’s what I can afford. And I refuse to accept charity! From Bruce or Oliver. Besides I like being close to my friends. Me and the Wayne’s we’re practically family.”
Marinette furrowed her brow in confusion, “Then what were you doing at the Gala.”
“Doing Jay, a solid. Bruce needed him there for one reason or another. And Oliver was trying to reconnect but…it’s complicated. But someone needed to keep Jason in line. But enough about me, what brings you to Gotham?”
Marinette looked at Roy over her coffee mug. After five years of living under an emotional terrorist, Marinette had become an expert at reading body language. When the slightest spark of anger could get you brain washed, it was important to know when someone was being pushed too far or needed to be deescalated. And for some reason, Roy’s own question had him nervous. It was as if he was looking for something that he was afraid of. Marinette set her cup down and chose her words carefully.
“Business. I finally decided to except a commission from WE. I’ll be designing the family’s Winter Gala attire.”
“Wow!” Roy said clearly impressed, but he did not seem to be actually surprised. “I mean, I kind of already new that since, Tim’s been bouncing off the walls since you accepted, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s super impressive.”
Marinette smiled at the compliment but had to ask, “If you already knew why I was here, then why did you ask? And why didn’t you say anything before?”
Roy blushed and rubbed the back of his neck. “Well, I was trying to be polite and not be a stalker. Be honest, if I had just come out randomly and said I knew when and why you were coming here, you would have been a little creeped out.”
Marinette smiled and shrugged in response, and Roy took her silent answer as permission to continue. “Besides,” he said a touch more seriously. “I’m a little confused. I mean, you built your brand on anonymity, right? Which meant all of this could have been done online. So why come to the crime capitol of the world three months in advance, just for a family of rich assholes?”
“And here I thought they were your friends,” Marinette teased.
“That’s how I know they’re assholes,” Roy said.
“Assholes!” Lian cheered, and Roy’s face turned as red as his hair as he groaned into his hands.
Marinette laughed and sipped her coffee before answering Roy’s question. “If I’m being honest, I’m also here for personal reasons. I think I was adopted from Gotham, and so I’m trying to learn more about that side of myself.”
Roy nodded, still flustered by his daughter, but clearly still looking for something in Marinette’s words when he said, “Wow, well…Good luck with that, and I mean it! Bio families can get complicated especially in a city like this.”
Marinette laughed without humor, “Yeah, I’ve been hearing that a lot lately. But I’m not afraid of complicated. If my life was a play then the tag line would be, ‘It’s Complicated!’”
Roy chuckled, “Well, then—if you don’t mind me asking, what are you afraid of?”
Marinette paused as she considered Roy and the question. She liked him, and Lian. But she didn’t know if she could trust him. Still, there was an easy genuineness about him that made her smile and relax. He reminded her of Luka and how he always seemed to put her at ease, but he had energy and passion like Adrian. Marinette briefly considered the irony of finding someone who had the best qualities of both of her exes who were currently dating each other.
With all this taken into account, Marinette couldn’t really be surprised when she found herself saying softly, “I’m afraid of rejection. I just…I have this…desire for the truth. And it drives me to some pretty crazy and sometimes embarrassing things! But, I face it. The good the bad, the earth shattering, and heartbreaking, I face all of it. I face the truth. So, when I think about the fact that I have family out there…family I have been kept from for my entire life! I need the truth. But if the truth is that they hate me…that they reject me…I don’t want to face that truth. But I must, because that’s who I am. I find the truth, whatever it is, and make beauty out of it.”
Marinette watched Roy’s expressions throughout her speech. Whatever was going on his head, Marinette couldn’t comprehend it. But she did recognize the three emotions that had been shifting over his face almost the entire time. They were guilt, anger, and appreciation. Marinette was 90% sure that the guilt and anger was not aimed at her, but that didn’t lesson her own anxieties on the matter. And then there was that other part of her brain the one that never stopped working, filing, and cataloguing everything around her. And it whispered a single question, “Does he know?”
Finally, Roy turned to her and said, “Well, anyone crazy enough to abandon you, doesn’t deserve you. But if worse comes to worse…, can I have your number? I think Lian wants you to teacher French, and I’d rather not have you vanish on me again.”
Marinette smiled at his smile and turned to Lian who had jumped at the mention of her name. “What do you say Lian? Would you like me to teach you French?”
“Yes!” Lian exclaimed. “You can be my real-life Knitting Fairy!”
Marinette’s eyes bulged at that comment, and she did her best to play it off. A new thought reeled in her mind, in that distant part of her brain. “Lian knows Jay-Jay. Roy knows Jay-Jay! He called his friend Jay! Jay, Jay-Jay, Jason! Jason Todd is my brother! Jason Todd is Red Hood! Wait…does that mean…”
Marinette met Roy’s eyes and an understanding passed between them. They knew. They both knew. How was this possible? How had this happened? Her mission to connect with her brother, was going far to easily. The coincidences, and random encounters, and verbal slips were just too many! Something was happening. She put the puzzle to the back of her mind as she gave Roy her number and attempted to leave as gracefully as she could. But before she did, Roy reached out and gently took her hand saying, “You should know, that whatever happens while you’re in Gotham, you have people here who are on your side. And if your family is too pigheaded to give you the love, respect, and acceptance you deserve, then I will personally kick their asses three times over.”
“Thank you, Roy,” Marinette said with a smile. “That means a lot.” Still, she didn’t look back as she returned to her borrowed apartment. Her brain was too full of swirling thoughts and spiraling contradictions. But before she could steep in her anxiety, she collapsed onto the floor and began to meditate.
Suddenly she could feel it. The darkness of Gotham, the pure chaos and misfortune that spilled out of the ley lines and attempted to infect every crevice of the city. A bright and pure bubble of creation protected her from it, but it didn’t stop her from feeling it, and understanding it. But Marinette ignored the ley lines for now and focused on what was beyond them…the forces of Balance. The strings of fate and the winds of destiny mixed with the energy of Gotham and dispersed out into the world purposefully and intentionally.
And those same strings of fate were guiding her. They had always been. The moment she had begun to learn to differentiate between the energies of the world, she could sense fate swirling around her like a whirlpool, dragging her to whatever came next. Sometimes she thanked them. Sometimes she hated them. But now she could feel the energies pulling and pushing her in one direction, towards her brother.
Marinette opened her eyes and addressed the confused kwamii before her. “It appears that our mission isn’t just personal.”
“What do you mean?” Longg asked quietly.
“I mean,” Marinette said in exhaustion. “That our relationship is important, not just to me, but to fate itself.” She sighed and rubbed her temple, “If I were to guess, then I’d say that there is something, Jay-Jay and I need to do together. Something important, so fate is making sure that we are reunited.”
“But that’s a good thing, right?” Plagg exclaimed, “I mean if fate is on your side, then I’m sure you will get what you want. Right! Right?”
Marinette shook her head. “I don’t know Plagg. I just don’t know.”
They sat in silence for ten whole minutes, contemplating why fate, destiny, or providence had decided that Marinette was their go-to girl for being anything from a leader to a punching bag. But in the end, it didn’t matter. For not even a god could defeat time and fate together. And once the ten minutes were up, Marinette’s phone rang. Marinette opened it and read the text, with growing apprehension.
Meeting scheduled for 11 pm, on top of WE building. -Batman.

CAMP NANO DAY 23
[AO3]
=============∞Ω∞=============
The first thing she noticed as she woke up was the uncomfortable pinch of sticks and pine needles digging into her skin. It was an unfortunately familiar sensation, what with how often she'd found herself tripping and being thrown around the Preserve. She'd gotten better about all the tripping with time and exposure, but sadly the throwing was still happening just as much, if not more, than it had been during her sophomore year.
The second thing she noticed as she woke up was the sound of the leaves rustling in the wind. Well, that and the sound of peaceful breathing nearby. Still half asleep, she noted the breathing with a soft hum before dismissing it as nothing to be concerned by. She was in fact almost lulled back to sleep by the calming mixture of the breathing and the rustling leaves, if it weren't for the next thing she noticed.
The third thing she noticed as she woke up was the gentle thrumming of a new bond in her chest, anchored near her heart. She had bonds with Scott and the rest of the pack, she'd had them for a few years now, but those were different, just a ball of strings whispering of here-pack-belonging-here that occasionally flared with unease-discomfort-pack-protect or joy-pack-happy-here that were clustered in the center of her chest, each flavored with something of her packmates to give them some definition. This new bond, however, was very different. For one, it almost felt as though it were coming from her heart and not just anchored near it. For another, it was less a string and more a sturdy rope of mine-here-content-tired-sleep. Mentally brushing against the new bond triggered the source of the steady breathing to let out a deep sigh of contentment as she heard the muffled sound of leaves crunching and felt fur brush up against her hand.
Wait. Fur? Stiles thought in groggy confusion. Her brows scrunched up as she fought through the last of her sleepy haze to open her eyes and actually take in the world around her. As she blinked awake and finally registered the early morning sun trickling down through the branches of the trees, she found herself staring at the most beautiful sight she'd ever seen. Laying in front of her, close enough to easily touch, was a massive black and silver wolf, curled up with it's—his—back to her, as though to protect her from anyone or anything looking to attack her. With a dense copse of trees at her back and the gorgeous wolf at her front, Stiles had to admit, she hadn't felt as safe as she did right then since before finding out about the supernatural.
Reaching her slightly extended arm out just a little further, she gently started running her hand through the wolf's slightly coarse coat, smiling softly as the new bond warmed with a sleepy peace-enjoyment-mine-more. I don't recognize this wolf, she thought to herself as she continued stroking the wolf's salt-and-peppered fur, but I feel like I recognize him.
She continued to lay there on her side, head pillowed on one arm, in her well worn Ironman pajama shirt and Batman pajama bottoms, barefoot and jacketless, just enjoying the feeling of running her hand through her wolf's fur—and it felt right to think of him as her wolf, as he was hers, just as she was his. It was as simple as that. Stiles didn't know how long she'd been laying there petting her wolf before he finally started waking up. She felt it first in their bond, a feeling of tired-grumpy-content-reluctance, before he started twitching ever so slightly under her gentle touch. He pressed back into her hand gently before rolling away and onto his feet with a great big wolfy yawn and a dramatic stretch. Finished with that, he turned and plopped back down in front of her on his stomach, though facing her this time.
Stiles gazed deeply into familiar hazel eyes and suddenly knew exactly who her wolf was. Sitting up, she, too, yawned and stretched before brushing off the twigs and pine needles from her arm. She shifted to sit cross legged in front of her wolf and looked him in the eyes once again. The bond briefly flared with hope-hesitance-mine?-wistfulness before settling down to here-content-safe-hope-here. She smiled softly at her wolf and opened her arms, sending a pulse of yours-here-happy-safe-mine as she uttered the name of the man she'd been dreaming of ever since he left the last time. "Derek," she entreated softly, an assurance and a plea all at once.
Hazel flashed blue as her wolf all but leapt into her arms, nuzzling into her neck, scenting her gently yet thoroughly. She wrapped her arms around him and nuzzled back as much as she was able, running her hands down his back and sides to help make up the difference. She felt more than heard him whine as relief-yours-joy-here-mine flashed down their bond as Derek settled half on her lap, half curled around her, still protecting her even as he took comfort in their closeness.
"I've done a lot of reading since I last saw you," she muttered to him as she lovingly stroked his pitch black ears. "It took me a bit to remember, but I've read about this, the bond between us, as well. You really trust me that much?" With your heart, your wolf, your very soul, she didn't say. She didn't have to. He heard it anyway.
Derek lifted his head from her lap. Warmth-love-trust-always flooded the bond as he nudged her cheek with his nose, giving it a small, playful lick before resting his head on her lap once more. Stiles grinned at him as she resumed petting his ears and pulsed a brief love-warmth-trust-same at him.
Before Peter had left to places unknown, he'd given her a key and a USB drive, told her it was for her eyes only, then placed a brief, gentle kiss on her forehead before strutting away. After watching him drive off into the midday sun, she'd ran up to her room and grabbed her laptop before diving onto her bed to get to work solving whatever logic puzzle Peter had left her. After fourteen hours of hard work, she had been left with an address, a passcode, and a reminder that this was for her eyes only. Plugging the address into her phone's GPS had taken her to Beacon Hills's oldest and most prominent bank. Showing a teller her license had ended up with her in front of a safe deposit box, inserting the key and leaving with a passcode locked e-reader with a sticky note attached, yet again reminding her that it was for her eyes only. It had taken her nearly a full year to finish reading everything Peter had put on that e-reader for her, most books obviously being electronic copies of the lost Hale library.
Among those books were the personal diaries and journals of previous Hales. Among those was the tale of the Hale Gift. The gift that allowed all Hale wolves, not just their alphas, to take on a full shift form. That gift was the ability to bond with another so completely that two became as one. What one had, so did the other. If one half of the bond was human, the wolf of the Hale was shared between them and grew to be as strong as any two wolves together. That amplified strength of the wolf of the pair was what allowed the Hale to achieve a full shift. However, in order to form such a strong bond, both parties had to trust each other implicitly, with everything they were and ever would be.
At the time, Stiles had wondered why Peter had practically placed that journal front and center for her reading pleasure, but now she couldn't be more glad he'd done so. If this had happened before she'd read about it, she couldn't even begin to imagine how she might have reacted, nor did she want to. She'd loved Derek for a long time now, she didn't want to hurt him, especially through her own ignorance.
"Come on, Sourwolf, let's go find you some clothes so we can talk face to face instead of face to muzzle," she declared, standing up before grimacing at the feel of rocks and other unpleasant things beneath her feet. "And maybe some shoes for me, too," she grumbled, looking down at her feet. Derek just chuffed out a wolfy laugh before heading off in the direction of civilization.

I, ah, started falling asleep while writing that last paragraph (^~^;)ゞ I didn't take my normal Sunday afternoon nap, and it's showing (´-﹏-`) on the plus side, I managed to finish writing this before I after fell asleep!
This fic was prompted by a dream I had two or three days ago lol the only thing I remember from said dream was that the MC was female, she woke up to a wolf sleeping in front of her, and her first thought wasn't panic, it was "I don't recognize this wolf, but I feel like I recognize him". My waking mind decided it was a fem!Stiles/Derek fic just waiting to be written, so here we are!

Hi, sorry to disturb, but could you share a summary of how the Jason death/Red Hood plot goes in the Titans show? I heard a bit about it and I'm curious, but I'm now interested in watching the series (it's just not my thing, no judgment)
Absolutely!
Okay, so the thing about Titans is that if you asked me for a list of things not to do when writing Jason Todd, Titans hits almost every single one of them.
And yet! It still manages to be one of the most compelling and sympathetic takes on the character that I've seen. (I leave to you to consider what that says about most comics featuring Jason.)
Detailed (and slightly opinionated) plot summary below the cut:
So we start off with the cardinal sin of Jason Todd stories: making him angry and violent from the start. However, unlike most stories which do this, Titans makes it very clear that he has his reasons to be angry and that his violence is targeted towards people who use their societal power to oppress others (particularly cops) (as a side note- I could write a whole essay about Titans' mixed messaging regarding the police.) Titans also makes sure to give us just enough scenes of Jason being an absolute sweetheart to make it clear that he's a good kid at heart. (He's also heavily implied to have been a victim of both sexual and physical abuse, which definitely colors his characterization.)
Titans!Jason's main motivation is his determination to prove himself to both Bruce and Dick. This doesn't tend to be a major factor in pre-death comics!Jason's characterization, but it's not entirely out of thin air. Unsurprisingly, it tends to get him into trouble. Which leads us to the first major event in the Red Hood plot: Jason is kidnapped by Deathstroke and almost dies.
He's rescued last second by Superboy (because sure, why not), but ends up with a pretty classic case of PTSD and a very understandable fear of his own mortality. He tries to shake it off, but he's noticeably messed up, and Bruce insists he take some time off from being Robin and talk to a therapist. Jason resists at first, but eventually starts getting along with his therapist and making some progress. Which is of course the point where Bruce decides that actually he won't be letting Jason return to the role of Robin no matter how well his therapy goes, because Bruce worries that he messed up with Dick and can't risk making the same mistake with Jason.
Jason, naturally, takes this poorly.
There's also a subplot involving Jason's wlw bff from before Bruce adopted him
And this is where things start getting... weird.
Jason has convinced himself that Bruce's concern is actually a lack of trust, and becomes determined to prove himself able to overcome his own fear. His solution is to visit Scarecrow in jail and get chemistry lessons to create an anti-fear toxin.
Under the influence of said anti-fear toxin, he goes after the Joker with no backup. Jason's actual death at the hands of the Joker is disturbingly fast and almost anti-climactic. No bomb, no complicated plot involving Jason's mother. Just the Joker, and Jason, and a crowbar.
And then, with equal speed and lack of fanfare, Bruce kills the Joker and, disgraced by his failure to uphold his own code, leaves the city.
In Doylist terms, this is an excuse to get Batman out of Gotham and leave the Titans in charge. In Watsonian terms, this is probably the most shocking departure yet from Bruce's usual characterization.
Crane has his goons revive Jason via a Lazurus pit under Gotham. With Bruce having violently avenged him, Jason's anger is shifted to the Titans, and particularly Dick, for failing him during his first life. So he does a lot of fucked up shit to them as Red Hood.
Jason is also, at this point, addicted to Crane's anti-fear toxin and fully under his control. This is absolutely delightful if you like fucked up mentor-mentee relationships, but otherwise completely nonsensical and honestly not handled very well, as the show seems more determined to toy with the audience about whether or not Jason is really evil than to actually give Jason consistent motivations.
Crane has a whole thing where he tries to promote Red Hood as his new alternative superhero who (unlike those mean nasty titans) has the city's best interests at heart. Imagine the plot with the riddler from the batman but shittier.
Crane poisons the water supply, Gotham turns into a war zone, and Jason finally decides he's done with Crane and teams up with the Titans to save the city.
Dick makes it clear that Jason can never be a Titan again, but does reunite Jason and Bruce, who have clearly both been changed by what they've been through. Jason asks if Bruce killed the Joker for him, and Bruce confirms that he did. Jason thanks him, entirely sincerely, and then leaves the manor to find his own path.
And that's why I love Titans Jason while also sitting here screaming about how nothing they did with him makes sense...

A few headcanons and scenarios I thought up hashing out some details for my story. Looking into People with Amnesia’s stories and how we recall memories/what do we specifically recall in detail in some… It’s not perfect, but I am very determined to set my self/reader insert apart from the two stories I got inspired by.
—Memories of meeting Arceus are fuzzy since they were in a God’s presence. It definitely changed them if the red eyes and being freaking ten years old was any indication! Not sure what their previous age was, but probably at least a teen. Jubilife’s written language was not mainly Kanji (Yes!) though the weird symbols had no resemblance to English (no)…
—Most Jubilife villagers spoke English or Galarian/Unovan, they swear they heard the older folks ask the infamous “Nani?” followed by some muttered sentences in Japanese.
—Surveying will be harder than they thought with far more research tasks. Not to mention a few members of Jubilife will be concerned over a ten year old working in the wilds. (Rei and Akari are tasked to oversee their first few surveys as a precaution. The cousins are perpetually confused by SI treating Pokémon without much fear. Gushing over how cute Pikachu is yet being rightfully wary of Alphas).
—The being partially illiterate thing will be a small embarrassment to them making the cousins more confused. In turn, not being able to read when their ten year old rookie types on their weird device will make them understand the frustration. (SI is surprised when the Arc Phone has a normal phone case, albeit decked out in Arceus design. I honestly hate how it looks in-game—How does it fit in our pocket?)
—Batman Paranoid Kamado will be… not as wary as he was in-game. At least not initially, I mean Ultra Wormholes are probably a thing so people appearing out of nowhere might be a slight rumor from Alola. The man has a freaking Clefable of all Pokémon which’s pre evos are skittish as heck. He’s a jerk. He really is yet I feel like I can explore that better than the Legends did. As the Noble get taken care of, he becomes more suspicious of them and their skill. (In an unrelated note, Gyarados have red eyes…)
—There will be some days where the Self Insert gets burnout and frustrated so. They will meet up with the Wardens to just discuss what’s been going on since the Noble fight. This will lead to the eventual Lian and Sabi sibling adoption. They are still technically working by learning about the Warden’s regional variants.
—There’s no magical Arceus healing. My poor self insert will get slight scars/injuries from the surveys. Fighting in a Volcano is just crazy, as well as going against a living bomb. Avalugg takes the cake being as massive as he is.
—Ingo won’t recall all his memories. Being, probably, dropped in Hisui through a distortion had its effects. Names help. Occasionally he gets odd snippets of times where he or the face-sharing man are really emotional. (The brain will record when we are feeling extreme emotions, which is kinda why bad times tend to be memorable in detail… Stupid brain). Even with Psychics being real things, trying to force his memories just causes massive strain.
—The whole “Do you love Pokemon?” thing with Kamado will go differently. If I was actually isekai’d and got asked that I would go a different route than the simple yes or no. How a Pokemon grieves is not pleasant to see (referencing Litten and Stoutland). Might be an abrupt start, but I would press on. Pokemon can be close family to some or terrible curses to others. And a few are actual monsters who attack everything in sight. (Gyarados and Hydreigon, even when we befriend them in Pokepark 2 jerk.) They can also be healers to other Pokemon and even people. Anyone of my Pokemon could kill me, but they might also protect my life from a genuine threat. They did protect me when I needed to knock the Noble Pokemon back to their senses. I knew Jubilife before I came here, althoooough it was Jubilife City in the region with Mount Coronet. And at least ten other towns I won’t name. “So yes, I do truly love Pokemon. They can help me do all kinds of things like journey in otherwise dangerous places, Commander.”
—I am not letting him pull the same speech he did in the game. While there are probably unwritten codes for battling (like not using two or more Poker mon in what's supposed to be single battles), I/si wouldn’t follow them by heart when it comes to helping out.
—Checklist Anon. Sorry, the last one got ranty I’m having fun.
I’m having fun too! It’s so very interesting to see people flesh out their fanfics and creations, so I really appreciate you sharing these with me. I read them and just grow so excited for you, because I can remember creating my own stories the way you’re doing, and how much fun it was! Even the more in depth research isn’t bad, when you’re doing it for a personal project like this!
Ahhh, I can’t wait for what you think of next! Your stuff is always so interesting and captivating!!! What a fun character you’re creating!

It was just announced that Joker: Folie á Deux is being released in 2024. Supposedly “Folie á Deux” is medical terminology for when two people begin to share delusions. Really only including that cause there are people who doubt that this will movie feature Harley Quinn. Or some sort of Harley Quinn inspired character. I will be so upset if Todd Phillips changes her character’s name😩
But the first Joker film was inspired by the character’s origins in The Killing Joke. Which, ok, these origins have never been officially confirmed. They’re based off of rumors that have been heard by characters in the DC/Batman universe. In The Killing Joke, the Joker is an unnamed man who is a failing comedian with a pregnant wife. So he agrees to do a theft in exchange for some money from the mob.
And like how the Joker went insane in the comics never really made sense to me. Cause he pretty much just fell into the vat of chemicals at Ace Chemicals and went insane. I’m guessing from like brain damage or something? Idk. Like I said, I never really thought it made sense. So I kind of really appreciated the added character depth in the first Joker film.
Since the first film was based off The Killing Joke it only seems natural that the next film would be based off of Mad Love. Mad Love is the episode of Batman: The Animated Series (1993) in which Harley Quinn’s origins as the Joker’s psychiatrist at Arkham were first revealed. Cause Harley was originally a character made specifically for Batman: TAS created by Paul Dini who also wrote her origin story.
There is said to be a musical aspect to the new Joker movie. Which I think, the musical numbers would be apart of Joker and Harley’s mental delusions. Cause in the first film the Joker had delusions of being a successful stand up comedian. When someone has delusions of this nature they’re called delusions of grandeur. Another really well-known on screen adaption of this is the classic film Breakfast At Tiffany’s which starred Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly.
Personally, I’m really concerned about how depressing this movie will be cause I found the first movie a bit traumatizing😂🙃 I also find it gross that DC decided to announce this only like 24hrs after we found out that Batgirl is being shelved. I feel like DC might be really running with the whole film noir arthouse type thing. At least for the Batman franchise. And I have to say it definitely fits the whole dark and gritty nature they were trying to accomplish originally, and it does make a sense from a financial stand point to develop these portrayals of the characters further.
I mean, Joaquin Phoenix won a fucking Oscar for his portrayal as the Joker. Oh, geeze, I really hope Phillips doesn’t make Phoenix starve himself down to nothing again. That was really disturbing tbh.
Ok, sorry about that ADHD brain😅

Tim deciding to be free use from a young age and fucking loads of people at galas, maybe even on the streets when he's stalking Batman and Robin, eventually getting knocked up hella early but being so into it and continuing his free use behavior
Just Tim being a total cumdump slut 🤭🤭🤭
All of the bats having different reactions towards learning this, but Bruce is the bat whose reaction is to fuck into Tim's slutty little pussy and come inside, hoping he knocked him up this time, knowing Tim gave birth to his third or fourth kid just two months previous
Eventually all the bats are on board, ofc, and fuck and fill Tim near constantly
i can definitely see jason, dick, and bruce all having very contrasting reactions: one of interest, one of concern, one of disguised curiosity!!!!
jason sees tim, sees how he drapes himself over anyone and is desperate to be touched, to be fucked. and crime ally is basically a den of deprivation, where all the shady stuff goes down. and jason recalls seeing stuff he was too young to understand. he remembers people who weren't from crime alley coming down and running screwing with the profits of the girls who worked the corner because they'd spread their legs for free. jason remembers how he'd see them stumbling out or being held by the hand of someone as they were led to another apartment or motel. jason remembers seeing how euphoric they looked, how widely they smiled and how they kept necking their partner as they walked.
jason used to think they were addicts on a bender and in a way they were. they were just addicted to a different kind of drug.
tim is like that. he whines to them and jason has no idea how nobody knew about this before.
dick is scandalized. all sensible and trying to herd tim by being kind but then flinching back when tim lifted one of dick's hands to touch his breast. tim is a breathy little thing with sweet curves, a full waist and a soft chest. it helps that he's a hell of a mama, some wrangling his two babies all on his own.
unlike dick who is quietly frantic every time tim looks at him with heat and want bruce is quiet. he is always pointedly looking away but jason can see how his eyes dart back to tim.
jason knew tim was a whore. of course he did, how couldn't he with the babies that suckled his tits and clung to him. jason had heard of tim before bruce had taken him in. the one thing people talked about more than jason at galas was little timothy drake. it was in that whispered, under the breath kind of way. cutting words that mainly came from smarting wives who pretended not to notice as their husbands followed little timmy out of the room.
apparently bruce had tried intervening once when he'd first caught wind of it.
he'd walked into the sight of tim on his back and whining as the fat cock of a socialite his dad's age fucked into his sloppy little cunt. tim desperately clung on and bruce had tried to work his way closer, trying to get to the child to see if he could help him out of the room.
but then he'd gotten close and tim had pawed at him to get at his cock and-
bruce had said he'd pushed him away, said he'd kept himself flaccid so could embarrassedly say that it looked like he'd had too much to dirnk when it became clear he couldn't get tim to follow him.
jason didn't know how much of that was true, not with how much bruce kept glancing at tim's cute little tits visible through the sheer fabric of his shirt.
jason knows what people like tim need. he knows what they want and if no one else will step up then it seems like it all just falls to him.
it's up to jason to give tim what he needs.
