hc that one thing everyone in the batfamily knows without doubt is: alfred knows everything. hidding anything from alfred is a waste of time and energy, because he always just knows. so they simply don’t. they dont need to tell him, but they dont need to hide it, he always knows anyways.

however, the thing is alfred is just a regular old man who spends all of his time cleaning, cooking and making sure they dont die. he doesnt have time to be figuring out what the bat ninjas he has for a family is hidding so most often than not he doesnt know. it doesnt help that no one in the family ever tells him anything, because they expect him to just know. he just has a really really good poker face and an inability to be surprised by much so everyone just assumes he already knew once he discovers anything.

It's supposed to be another clickbait news but it comes at the time when the existence of ghost was recently proved factual at a small town in Illinois along witha its dead teenage superhero, when the heroes of Paris and by large France accidentally revealed they weren't adults at all, not even close, when Spiderman was unmasked to be 16-year-old Peter Parker, when the Young Justice was wounded in a large scale attack.

Most of the people involved and not involved are not having fun.

(This is inspired by the Miraculous fanfic The Growing Pains of Child Soldiers by BloodWolf13, a fic which I recommend you read since it is very, very good. Hits all my whump and angst points)

Danny gets sent back in time often to fix disasters. This causes problems.

Danny is a member of the teen titans in this. Amity has been handled portal shut down by the league. The minute the anti ecto acts were suggested they acted and nipped it in the bud. As Danny is a teen in this that’s we’re he goes.

Now Danny never really stated his status as a halfa. Just indirectly said his parents caused him to have the second form.

One day there is a huge threat. Now there are rumors the ghost king is kind and protective of earth. In the past there are records of him helping. At the same time warnings he will bring destruction. Two very distinct personalities.

Danny tries to stop them but it’s too late. As he is the one who sealed pariah not the ancients. The summoning worked as it had no magic backing it.

Cue pariah instantly attacking Danny raving about how he took away his victory. Now they have two threats at once. Danny takes down pariah and becomes king.

Now the split personalities makes sense especially when Danny actually discloses some information. Like the fact he had time traveled and clockwork likes to make him fix things.

Hero didn't shrink under Superhero's gaze. They stared back, expression firm. "I know I messed up. But I did what I could to fix it and no one got killed."

"There are three civilians in critical condition in the hospital. You don't know no one got killed yet."

"What else do expect me to do? I did my best to make it right."

"I expect better from a hero of the agency!" Superhero tried not to raise their voice. They and Hero were standing in one of the agency hallways, this argument was far too public.

Hero crossed their arms and glared back at Superhero. "I never even wanted to be a hero! This is what you wanted. I did what you asked of me and look where it got us."

"You mean where you got us. Do you understand how much damage control I'm going to have to do with the press because of this? And with the agency and city officials?"

"Is that all you care about? The mess I made that you have to clean up? Don't you even care how this might be affecting me? Or I don't know, can't you at least be proud of me for taking responsibility and trying to fix it?"

Superhero sighed like they were dealing with a disobedient child that refused to go to bed. "I don't have time to hold your hand right now, I have the agency to deal with."

"Oh my god can you not be Superhero for one fucking minute and just be my mom?"

Superhero pinched the bridge of her nose. "We'll talk about this later. Just go home."

"I'm not a little kid you can just send to my room for timeout anymore. You-"

"[Name], go. home." Superhero shot her child a warning look. Hero held her gaze until she turned and started walking down the hall.

Hero resisted the urge to yell at her as they turned the opposite direction and stormed out.

ok!!! so i've seen part of this scene taken out of context before,

usually meant to make superman seem like a big scary badass or like an unreasonable dickhead stepping on billy's groove. usually people present it making some kind of case for supes being hypocritical because he's okay with robin (he has been fluctuating levels of OK with the various robins, actually)

the incredibly important missing context is that billy just saw his bestie killed (which i don't like, i would've preferred scott just be injured, i think a kid death is a bit bleak for the tone of the story) and is currently homeless, living in a subway. superman's reaction is not necessarily to the idea of a child hero, something he is by now very familiar with and tends to operate within genre conventions regarding (he is friends with multiple people in both the teen titans and young justice), but the specific way in which Zordon failed first Jason, Zack, Trini and Kimberly -- and now Billy, too 😔

you gotta admit, bruce has been a real fuckwit to the various kids in his care, but he never let any of them be homeless and unprotected. for the most part, when dick, tim, jason and damian come home in the morning, they're safe in wayne manor. in fact, robin mortality rates tend to skyrocket when bruce isn't there, and Zordon seems to just sit in his stupid power tube 24/7 instead of getting his dukes dirty with billy. does that make sense?

meanwhile, Zordon's lack of involvement with billy, or lack of ability to provide for billy in civies, has led not only one child to homelessness but resulted in another child getting killed.
