thinking. and. there's a very specific kind of bond you get with. friends raising friends, you know? like i always say that yj had huge parts in raising each other vs the original titans who had already been raised and who really . discovered who they were beyond that within each other and like. MAN. there's of course the trauma and messy relationship of a parentified sibling and whatnot but the messy dynamics of a group of friends raising each other is also so very complex

i do think to some degree the titans helped each other but it wasn't. raising each other it was carving out a home for them all in each other and whatnot but yj were really just kids and that bond is So Very Strong especially with the core four who continued to go on helping each other become people

not enough people talk about how much work the titans had to do to even be recognized by the league also. and they had to like. basically fight? tooth and nail? against their own mentors to be recognized as something in themselves and not just additions to their mentors. and they only had each other for that!!! dick grieved jason with the titans!!!! donna went through some of the most traumatizing self identity ass shit with the titans!!!!!!!!!! raven found a home with the titans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm so

i just have lots of thoughts about friends raising each other + friends helping each other heal from the way they were raised

that's also why i think it's important people know the difference between the kind of teams the titans are + young justice was

with the titans. they were the originals! they built themselves a name, a safe space, a reputation and a family with each other. but they were the original younger heroes. while what they had was special to Just them, they also wanted to make the titans a safe space for all the younger heroes who needed a home and a family like they did. they looked back at their history and decided to try to help other young heroes avoid it. they added BRANCHES of the team. the original titans wanted to do everything in their power to prevent other young heroes from making their mistakes. what they have will always be special to them, but they're willing to open the doors to what they built to every other young hero. they don't have to, but they will. dick grayson, donna troy, roy harper, garth and wally west (and eventually, raven, garfield, kory and vic) built the kind of team that's a legacy that many, many other young heroes can add to over the years. they're not the league, but they can be and ARE mentors for young heroes, whether they're personally involved in their lives or not.

with young justice? they raised each other. they depended on each other and trusted each other in ways they didn't even realize. they bonded through it all. that's not to say the titans didn't, but it's very different. whether it's because of the people or the ages, it's different. the titans have become a legacy with different branches but young justice was never going to be that. the core four are what's left of young justice and they're holding it too closely to their chests for there to ever really be another young justice that really involves them. greta's not a ghost, cissie's not a hero, slobo is gone and anita is basically gone. the four of them are all that's left and whether they realize it or not (which i believe they do), they don't WANT another team without those people. they can work with them, but it will never be like it was. the titans are a legacy, but young justice was just a family.

and like. i'm not saying the core four are wrong for that! i think they can be dicks about it but they aren't inherently wrong for wanting to protect something so dear to them. tim isn't dick, cassie isn't donna, bart isn't wally. they aren't interested in building up a network of teams based on what they went through. they just aren't. people have titans for that, young justice is for them. and i think that's SUCH a solid difference in characterization for all of the characters involved. and it's not like they're selfish for it?? i'd argue they're valid for it. the titans are also valid but man. it just. phew. things were so very different. i think the titans might have done it anyway, but if things were different, if there was another team and the roles were reversed (i.e young justice came before titans), they would be a little more hesitant to open up the titans to others.

that's why in reverse robin aus where tim comes before dick and he has yj and it operates as essentially the titans, it doesn't really work, imho. I JUST HAVE LOTS OF THOUGHTS

The difference between the Roy siblings’ interactions with Logan during ‘tense’ situations is SO telling about there relationship with him.

Kendall always feels like he’s owed something, like he’s being betrayed because Logan made his whole life about becoming CEO yet constantly takes it away from him. This is why he teeters the line of wanting to make Logan proud and wanting to completely fuck him over.

Shiv is always incredibly defensive because despite what Logan says, he does treat her differently because she’s a women. This is why, arguably, she’s the most willing to argue and go toe to toe with Logan because she just wants to show him that her being women doesn’t make her any less competent.

And Roman just backs down. He’s terrified of his father, the second things get heated his chin drops, his shoulders come up and he’s the kid who’s dad hit him and not his siblings all over again.

What if Dani's melting problem is less about being an unstable clone and more about the aging up process that she went through?

Obviously, if they can figure out how to reverse the process, she'll be fine. And they know just the right guy for messing with time!

But now they've got a baby with superpowers and nowhere to keep her. She obviously wouldn't be safe at Danny's house, the Manson's would flip their wigs and send Sam off to boarding school, and Tucker's parents would definitely ask a LOT of questions. Vlad's obviously a no-no since he's the one that made this mess in the first place!

I think either:

1) Jazz takes Dani with her to University. Maybe she pretends that Dani is her bio-baby or maybe she tells people it's her little sister. I think Jazz is smart enough to get some scholarships, but the Fentons also seem to be fairly well off, so she could probably support herself and a toddler with a part-time job. (Can be Jazz/Jason or Jazz/Dick; maybe go avant garde Jazz/Roy or Jazz/Starfire)

2) Danny, Sam, and Tucker use their skills to find someone to take care of Dani. At first, they wanted to drop her off with Superman, but then they find out about how he treated Conner (pre- or post-makeup.) and just don't feel comfortable leaving her with someone who's shown bias against clones. Then they thought about Batman, but the "No Metas" rule and how dangerous Gotham is made them decide against him. (I couldn't pick who they'd leave her with. Probably Wonder Woman or the Flash. Maybe they give up and decide to figure out a way to keep her. It'd make a good 5+1 fic)

To include:

*Several people mistake Dani as their/a friend's illegitimate child.

*Superboy has the same problem, but hasn't started melting yet. The JL/YJL finds out that Superboy has an impending melt issue due to meeting Dani. (Yes, they have to de-age Superboy too.)

*Dani hates one member of the JL and goes feral kitten on them whenever they're in the vicinity.

Guide to all charts on this blog

The "most popular ships" and "most popular tags" charts are most often connected to a certain character.

Please not that the number of percentages in my pie charts correlate to the numbers in the chart and NOT the overall number of hits I got.

Meaning: All the hits displayed in the chart make up 100% and if I get many hits off Ao3 not all the hits will be displayed in the charts and the 100% will be made up from the most popular hits only (which are then displayed in the pie chart).

Long story short: I let Excel convert the real numbers I make the pie charts of into percentages.

I try to make my charts as easily accessible as possible. This includes:

writing that isn't too small

numbers and writing in black instead of grey etc.

colours that are easily distinguishable (no too dark colours next to each other etc.)

no colours from the red/green spectrum directly next to each other because some Tumblr users might have red-green colour blindness

colours that won't make you fall asleep

colours that (in combination with each other) won't give you an epileptic episode from looking at them

everything written outside of pie charts instead of outside and inside for easier comprehension

the same kind of chart for the same categories (pie charts for ships, bar charts for the most popular tags etc.)

I cannot account for everything though and might make mistakes. Some of my earlier charts might also not really conform to the above in all aspects.

i love your christmas dinner prompt and now i’m thinking about kenromeshiv dinner but lukas actually wants to join (or them pushing roman to bring lukas too)

I think it would take a good long while before Roman even entertains the idea of bringing Lukas along to a sibling dinners. Mostly because he can’t trust any of them, Lukas included, to behave themselves around each other, nor does he want his relationship to be put under the microscope. That is until Lukas gives him the sad Swedish puppy dog eyes when he goes off to meet his siblings and he floats the idea to the other three about bringing him along next time. Secretly, Lukas mainly wants to be invited just so he can decline the invitation to annoy Kendall but also because its a side of Roman he doesn’t get to see, and he wants to know every single thing there is to know about his boyfriend. Unfortunately Romans suggestion of bringing Lukas is met with a resounding no. They either think he stole their dads company from them (Kendall) or are still embarrassed that they fell for his “bricks of blood” story (Shiv).

I kind of live for the idea that Kendall not-so-secretly wants Lukas to be his cool tech bro bestie and is still bitter that Roman “stole” him at his birthday party and keeps giving ridiculous reasons as to why Lukas can’t come to family dinner. When he finally relents and extends an invitation, Lukas declines because he’s busy, which only infuriates Kendall even further because he’s used to everyone bending over backwards for the Roys. It takes him a while to understand that Lukas is an entirely different entirety to the other spouses - he has his own friends for one and unfortunately that doesn’t include his boyfriends brother. So Kendall puts his Lukas Ban back in place only to have his feelings hurt when he finds out that Conner has secretly had him and Roman over dinner more than once.

Conner has that (somewhat) stable dad energy and really pushes for Lukas to be included even if the other two aren’t keen. He tries to bond with Lukas by bringing up his experience with a mentally unwell parent to the point where Roman, Shiv and Willa have to tell him to stop before Lukas reports him for harassment. Undeterred, Conner keeps trying to add Lukas to the family group chat which Lukas promptly declines until he realises that Roman is rather hurt he doesn’t want to be involved. Once he’s in, Lukas actually finds the family chat a great source of amusement - the siblings are so easy to wind up. Most of the inane chatter he ignores because unlike the rest of them, he actually has a job to do and when he does reply it’s either in Swedish, meme form or simply hearting all of Roman’s comments. He lasts three days before Kendall boots him from the group and is promptly added to a NOT KENDALL side chat with Roman and Shiv. It’s because of Lukas accidentally-on-purpose revealing the existence of the NOT KENDALL side chat that Conner gets out voted when he suggests inviting Lukas to the next sibling dinner.

Shiv and Lukas have the trickiest relationship - mostly because Roman tells her everything and her proximity to Tom. Being a private person, Lukas doesn’t want everything he says or does in his personal life to become office gossip, nor does he want Shiv to know all the goings on in his relationship. Then there’s Shiv, who is clinging on to Roman tighter than ever now that he’s breaking away from the family and her own relationship with Tom isn’t great. Roman ends up in a bit of a tug of war between them as they both clamour for his attention which he initially finds very difficult to navigate until Shiv relents, and says Lukas can come to dinner as long as he doesn’t act like “a giant dork devoid of human emotion.” The invitation is ultimately rescinded when she finds out that Lukas has stolen Roman away to the Caribbean for a break meaning he won’t be available for their weekly bitching session.

It takes Roman inviting the other two over for take out knowing full well that Lukas will be arriving home midway through dinner to get them all in the same room. It’s incredibly awkward, mostly because Lukas is midway through taking his office clothes off before he notices the extra people sitting at the table, and then Kendall throwing a hissy fit over being lied to. For once Roman manages to stick up for himself and yells at them all that Lukas is coming to the sibling dinners from now on so they better start getting along.

for the WIP ask meme, DONNA AND TIM SPACE-TIEM ROAD TRIP FIC BECAUSE I AM INTRIGUED

Donna Troy. Tim Drake. And the identity crisis-solving road trip through space-time to help out the Darkstars.

So I described this idea to a friend as the “If Dick and Jon can hang out together, and Jason and Kory can be on a team together, Tim (noted ‘big sister figure’ collector) should get to steal Donna for a bit” fic, and I still stand by that description.

Tim and Donna, to my knowledge, haven't had a solid conversation since Donna died in Graduation Day, and I think that's unfair since Tim has desperately needed to have at least one conversation about his decade-long identity crisis with her specifically as someone who's cycled through multiple lives and 5+ codenames as well as going through a very famous and very public identity crisis herself.

So the basic premise is that Donna, who doesn't quite know what to do with herself now that Diana has Cassie and Yara around, gets paged by the Darkstars to come help them with something that she needs a Bat's help for. However, Dick is unavailable and Donna would literally die again before asking Bruce Wayne for anything. So...Dick and Cassie collectively volunteer Tim, who shrugs and agrees because he has nothing else better to do with his life.

So Donna and Tim get plunged on a road trip through space-time and spend quite a lot of time Talking Things Out, including Tim's guilt over the role he played in Donna's death, love and loss (Donna=Terry and Robert+Roy, Tim=his parents+Steph+Conner), siblings (they have Dick and Cassie in common! They should get to talk about them!), and, most importantly, identity and breaking out of their mentors’ shadows. Any actual plot is secondary and mostly in service to ensuring that The Talking happens, but I am attempting to make it an engaging fic in that respect as well.

tldr: It's a #PairTheSpares fic, but make it sibling/mentor based.

Batfam Performers AU

No Capes AU where all the members of the batclan come together through a shared love of dance

The Wayne family has been a big supporter of the arts for generations (i mean cmon martha and thomas literally got killed leaving the theater, thats low hanging fruit) and of course Bruce continues this tradition by being very actively involved in the arts communities in Gotham, especially dance which is his favorite

Bruce and Dick meeting is pretty much exactly the same as cannon except instead of becoming a crime fighting duo, Dick gets therapy and decides to continue in gymnastics in remembrance of his parents

Dick goes to the Summer Olympics no less than 3 separate times, and while there, he finds a fantastic group of friends in a variety of other events like Running (Wally, who specializes in the 100 m), Archery (Roy obvi), Weightlifting (Kori), Boxing (Donna), Modern Pentathlon (Garfield), Skateboarding (Raven), and Table Tennis (Victor).

After retiring from international competitions, Dick does several tours with the Cirque du Soleil.

Jason is a street performer, breakdancing for spare change and also pickpocketing passersby and Bruce goes Hey, That’s Free Kid. Back when he was homeless, Jason spent a lot of time at the local community center learning hip-hop and keeps up with it even after moving to Bristol. It’s more of a casual hobby, but he’s gotten several offers to tour professionally.

At one Winter Olympics competition (which the waynes always attend in person), Dick stumbles upon one of the chinese figure skaters.

Enter: Cassandra Cain, rising figure skating star, literally won every competition ever, master on the ice, etc etc. Except... somethings off. Because it turns out there’s a huge scandal with abuse of the underage figure skaters going on (think of that controversy with the russian figure skaters who were basically being starved and abused to delay puberty so they wouldn’t develop curves bc that would impact their ability to do quadruple jumps). So Bruce goes, Oh, You’re Being Abused? That’s Free Kid and adopts her. After being adopted, Cass continues to compete in figure skating, but at a much less intense level, and also explores other forms of dance. She falls in love with ballet and quickly rises to the top. That’s where she meets Tim!

Tim fell in love with dance the second his parents forced him to learn the waltz for galas. They enrolled him in ballet (bc “that’s one of the only respectable styles of dance”) basically just to shut him up. Secretly, Tim has been obsessed with more contemporary styles of dance ever since he saw a certain circus performance (wink wink nudge nudge) and constantly goes to watch underground dance competitions. Cass, who knows him from the ballet studio, spots him at one such competition and drags him forcefully into the family. Much to his parents chagrin, Tim ends up forming a small dance troupe with Conner, Bart, and Cassie (Young Just Us). They travel to competitions all over the country, winning hearts and inspiring sexuality crises.

Duke, instead of working as a performer, works in lighting design! He learned the craft from his parents and knows how to work a lighting board like no other. He does work for basically every show/competition in Gotham, including plays and musicals. He knows everyone. Or, more accurately, everyone knows him. Duke is everywhere. If you’re a performer in Gotham, Duke has pointed a spotlight at you.

Damian is classically trained, basically since birth, and won’t let anyone forget it. He considers anything that isn’t classical to be inferior and takes great pride in his ability to dance en point. His dirty little secret? Damian loves square dancing. Jon made him do it once and he complained about it the whole time, then never stopped thinking about it. He would rather die than let anyone find out.

Stephanie starts out as a street performer as well. Unfortunately, she doesn’t get adopted by a billionaire (yet) and after turning 18 works as a stripper in one of Gotham’s less reputable clubs. She falls in love with pole dancing and starts doing it competitively. She catches a lot of shit for it, which is stupid because pole dancing is an incredibly difficult and incredibly beautiful artform. All her awards earn her a spot as a dancer at a club in Gotham that actually treats their performers well. She meets Tim when he sneaks out to one of the pole dancing competitions and gets in a fistfight with an asshole who kept harassing Steph about giving him a lap dance. Steph also does roller derby. This isn’t relevant, but I like it.

Barbara was an incredibly gifted gymnast who trained alongside Dick before suffering a spinal injury during a nasty training accident. She goes on to study music composition and writes/sound mixes for basically everyone who’s anyone. Everyone wants Babs to compose a piece for them because she’s just the best. She’s sought out by teams ranging from break-dancing to cheerleading to experimental.

Bruce has just about every piece of equipment purchasable installed in his basement, so all of his beloved family members can pursue their dreams <]:*)

"yeah Connor- no, that's Conner with an e, I mean Connor with an o-" Connor is the second Green Arrow, Connor Hawke, the son of the first Green Arrow Oliver Queen. Conner is Conner Kent, more commonly known as Kon El, a clone of Superman and Lex Luthor and the first Superboy.

"So the original Teen Titans- no, not Raven, Cyborg, Beast Boy and Starfire- yeah, Speedy, Kid Flash, Aqualad and Wonder Gi- what do you mean you don't know who Wonder Girl is??" Before the more popular Titans roster seen in TV shows like Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go came about, the original "Fab Five" Teen Titans were Robin (Dick Grayson), Speedy (Roy Harper), Kid Flash (Wally West), Aqualad (Garth), and Wonder Girl (Donna Troy). Raven (Rachel Roth), Cyborg (Victor Stone), Starfire (Koriand'r), and Beast Boy/Changeling (Garfield Logan) were all introduced to the Titans roster during the New Teen Titans, after the original team had already been established.

"And then Roy- no, not that Roy- yes technically they're the same guy but they're so far removed they're basically separate characters"- the first "Roy" being refenced is the Roy Harper who existed in continuity between 1941-2011. The "not that Roy" refers to the Roy Harper present between 2011-2016, also known as the 'New 52' (referring to a series of 52 objectively terrible books that were intended to create one singular canon to fix the conflicting storylines) who is, unfortunately, significantly more popular than his cooler, older counterpart, and is often associated with the second Robin, now Red Hood, Jason Todd. "Green Arrow and Speedy- no, not that Green Arrow, no not that Speedy either- no the first Speedy is older than the second Green Arrow-" The first Green Arrow was Oliver Queen. The first Speedy was Roy Harper. The second Green Arrow was Connor Hawke, who is younger than Roy Harper. The second Speedy was Mia Dearden.

"...yes, there are more heroes in Gotham than just Batman, Robin, and Batgirl." The main Gotham heroes within the primary Batfamily circle are Batman (Bruce Wayne), Nightwing (Dick Grayson), Oracle/Batgirl (Barbara Gordon), Red Hood (Jason Todd), Red Robin (Tim Drake), Cassandra Cain (Orphan/Black Bat), Stephanie Brown (Spoiler), Damian Wayne (Robin), and The Signal (Duke Thomas). Others include but are not limited to Huntress (Helena Bertinelli), Bluebird (Harper Row), Batwing (Luke Fox), and Batwoman (Kate Kane).

(LEFT) William 'Billy' Wintergreen - Slade's right hand man in many things. In addition to that, he's the godfather to all four of the Wilson children. A veritable feat considering the chaos they get up to with and without his help.

Judging by his face, one of his godchildren is likely in the midst of explaining why he should help them with their chaos.

(RIGHT) Dr. Arthur Will-hane 'Villain' - A doctor for those that require discrete services- including as Deathstroke and his family's personal doctor. Currently, Medea's boss and although he seems like a grumpy man, he does have a soft spot for his doctor in residence.

Wally West - A speedster primarily operating out of Central City if he isn't tied up with League work. While operating as Flash, Medea interacts with him in two very different roles. The first is as Dr. Wilson, who is his 'unofficial' official doctor. The second, is as his 'nemesis' who has exclusive rights to the position. You know, they really should get on giving her a name though for that second role...

A core memory for both Medea and Wally - probably her tasering him when they were younger.

Conner Kent - Medea and him briefly had a relationship in their mid to late teens. They parted on good terms and remain friends. Currently part of the newest iteration of the Teen Titans in San Fransisco and operating as Superboy.

Eddie Bloomberg - Best friends with Medea since childhood. They may have started out as penpals, but they've come a long way since then. Sold his soul to Neron at age 16 for powers, but through a series of events, Eddie not only keeps his soul when he turns 20, he also discovers that he's a meta. A side effect to this was that his natural form was no longer human like. Operating as Red Devil at times and is quite close with Rose.

And last, but not least...

Lian Nguyen-Harper: Daughter to Jade Nguyen and Roy Harper, she might be the one to rival Medea in terms of their vast network to various masks – viewing Medea and her siblings as uncles and aunts, with a similar idea regarding Roy's friends. Hence Uncle Wally or Medi. She's also the only other one to call Medea, 'Medi', outside of her family.

Bonus! A current snapshot of Medea Wilson - dressed so nicely, perhaps she's on her way to meet a certain speedster?
