Art-Deco Batman AU, also Nightwing!Steph. Brainstorming ideas and potentially seeking feedback.
So, we’ve been thinking about @dresdencodak’s art deco batman idea, and I decided to use it as a springboard to workshop an entire little universe. Stephanie Brown as Nightwing will basically be my main character for this.
One of the key pieces of this universe is that we’re going to in essence invert the emotional closeness of batman’s supporting cast. It’s already been done a bit with Steph becoming nightwing. Personally, I find batman to be the least interesting member of the batfamily, but he’s the linchpin holding them together, so lets think of him a bit like sun wukong in journey to the west. Not the main character, but the one that we start with and follow despite the story centering on those around him.
First of all though, we need to detail the setting itself.
Gotham.
We’re using an art deco theme, and one of the first pieces for overall architecture that you see at a glance is verticality. Big soaring towers with graceful details. And gotham’s also supposed to have a seedy underbelly, lots of corruption, and be located on the coast. It’s often compared to Metropolis, but at the same time is very different.
So here’s my idea: Gotham in this AU isn’t supposed to be Jersey or NYC. It’s on a coast, but that coast is cliffs and crags with a harbor in the center. The core of gotham sits atop the cliffs like a shining city on the hill, but that veneer hides a festering wound and rot. The bay is choked with trash, the buildings climbing the sides bay and the lower streets often sit in darkness. It’s a stark contrast to metropolis, a seemingly ordinary city that has extraordinary inhabitants in Superman - a being from the stars - and the luthor family who’re shaping the technology of the future. Gotham has several gangs, and the biggest one is definitely its police force, with the highest rate of corruption known.
Next, the Origin Story
I know, we’re springboarding from Dresdencodak’s work and she said “Don't retell Batman's origin - Everyone knows Batman's origin, and spending another entire film on it is lazy” but let’s change his origin and then explore it with flashbacks. There’s three key pieces of his origin that would precede the debut of the batman as gotham’s main vigilante: the alley, the inspiration, and the training. So let’s change all of them.
The alley has remained largely the same for decades: a random mugging that resulted in the deaths of thomas and martha wayne. Wayne enterprises got introduced later, and they often aren’t connected to it. So let’s explore how wayne enterprises might have made weapons, thomas or martha shut that down, and corruption leads to them being assassinated for it. Bruce was too young to understand, and he thinks it was a random mugging but eventually finds out the truth, only almost too late.
Next, the inspiration, and for this i’m going to tie in jim gordon and alfred pennyworth. Again, we’re inverting emotional distance. Bruce following his parents death becomes obsessed with vigilantism, the idea of stopping criminals with brutal vengeance, lashing out at the world for his pain. Alfred sees the orphan boy starting to scheme about using wayne enterprises for his plans, realizes that he’ll likely inadvertently grant the desire of the people behind the killing of thomas and martha, and places bruce under the guardianship of the one incorruptible cop in gotham, with a mission to instill an idea of due process and necessary force. Hoping to avert the course of fate. It doesn’t work, but batman is very closely tied to the police force and can be used to explore police corruption and justice. Also, the reveal of this would be very amusing with Jim and bruce arguing on the rooftop like usual and then suddenly bruce sarcastically calls commissioner gordon “dad”. It’s also in this time that Bruce sees how much death the cops are causing, and manages to strongarm alfred into making wayne enterprises begin designing nonlethal capture equipment with the hopes of the GCPD implementing it (and of course he pilfers some of the better prototypes when he debuts as batman)
Third, there is the training, and here’s where we’ll be throwing continuity into a blender. Batman is often thought of as the “original vigilante” of the DC universe, and most of the vigilantes are based partly on him. He also traveled the world to acquire his skills as the batman. So let’s change that by not only making him the second hero of gotham, and have the first be his mentor. And in a flash of inspiration, I decided that the first hero of gotham should be jason todd. He’d be a hero with a flight suit a bit similar to Stephanie’s suit but with larger wings, and the public would give him the name of Robin. He’d try to train the then-nameless vigilante, but one day on patrol they bump into the joker (who at the time would have been red hood), who’s somewhat of an anti-villain being a gang leader with very strict moral codes. Things go south, and Robin ends up dead due to a mistake on Bruce’s part. Red Hood is the one who put a bullet in Gotham’s hero and golden child, and he has a mental break and becomes the joker.
And with that done, Onwards to the Batfamily!
First, Dick Grayson. In this world we’ve got Stephanie as Nightwing and Jason as the original Robin, so Dick has to be something else. My idea was rather simple: Dick’s family dies when Haly’s circus isn’t in gotham. Instead of being taken in by batman, he learns from the likes of Superman and John Stewart (green lantern). Accountability is important to him, and he travels the country as a superhero with a public identity, showing off for the crowd even as he saves lives. This makes him a daytime hero, and takes from kryptonian myths for the moniker of Flamebird (Nightwing’s counterpart on kryptonian myth). Eventually he arrives in gotham, and learns about the vigilante batman and the dead hero Robin, and decides that he’s finally found a city that needs him.
We’ve already addressed Jason Todd, being batman’s mentor who died in an accident, but we need to explore how he comes back as the new red hood, and for that we need to talk about Ra’s Al Ghul. Ra’s in this universe would be a sort of vampire, the lazarus pit made him unaging with a powerful healing factor, but his body can’t produce its own blood and he requires daily blood transfusions to stay alive. He uses his healing factor to test diseases and cures on himself, and runs a pharmacutical empire that has never raised prices with inflation. He’s an affable old man with a distaste for monotony, as he requires new intrigue to stay sane. So when batman comes to him with the body of Robin begging him to find a way to bring him back, Ra’s shrugs as says yes (also his daughter is interested in the new vigilante, and he likes to meddle so maybe this’ll give him an opportunity to set the two up on a date). When blood enters Ra’s body, it’s changed in some unknown way, which when transfused into a body can revive them, but at a heavy cost: the light of day is forever denied to them. Jason is horrified by batman’s actions, and with his brain still addled by the revival process, decides to do something drastic: take over the mantle of the Red Hood. Hood’s gang was the least harmful in gotham, and helped keep other supervillains away from some the residential districts, so he quickly assumes control of the gang to keep them in line. Also, he’s given up on further improving batman, and if Bruce goes off the deep end, Jason would need numbers to put him down.
Next up, Oracle. Barbra Gordon will never become batgirl in this universe. Instead, she’s raised alongside Bruce and views him as an older brother. She’s very aware of the GCPD’s corruption, and when she discovers that Bruce is Batman she gets inspired by the We Are Robin movement (which in this universe I’m making would be a network of youths, former member of the Red Hood gang, and shop owners who share information and mobilize responses to incidents that the cops ignore), and assists as the one in the chair, gathering intel and providing overwatch for Batman. She also maintains partnerships with the more altruistic rogues in the city, including Selina Kyle, who operates a shelter for young women who’ve been forced into crime for various reasons. Instead of barbara becoming disabled due to the joker, I’d write her as already having some disability, and then pushing her body to the point that it gave out in addition to suffering injuries on the few desperate occasions where she’s been forced to get physically involved to help batman. One of the interesting things from the DCU’s batman was that it showed how “the life” will absolutely ruin one’s body and put them into an early retirement, and Barbara Gordon would end up pushing herself to far and causing that to happen. So she isn’t paralyzed, but requires a variety of mobility aids.
And on the topic of We Are Robin, we should address Duke Thomas, aka Signal. He’d have witnessed the death of Robin and started the movement, fuelled in part by a distrust of the Batman whose actions he deduced alongside private investigator Tim Drake. When flamebird rolls in and Duke awakens his powers, he joins Grayson as the Signal, keeping his identity secret because unlike the orphaned acrobat, he has people to take care of in his civilian identity (namely his parents, who were both crippled during Joker’s first big attack). He loathes batman and the GCPD, operating for transparency and accountability. He’s more of a super-powered fireman than a superhero, being one of the first on-scene after disasters and using his abilities to find civilians and get them to safety.
Next, we’ve got Stephanie Brown, Nightwing. My thoughts for her tools and the fact that in DC lore her name comes from kryptonian mythos would be that cluemaster obtained a kryptonian power source and was planning something big, but Stephanie found out and spoiled the plot by yoinking the power source and skedaddling to Batman for safe haven. He took the teenager to Wayne Enterprises to hole up while he deals with cluemaster, and that’s where Stephanie meets engineering prodigy Harper Row. Harper isn’t a hero, but she does help with the designs for the capture equipment that batman uses. Her personal work though is stymied because of heavy power draws that keep them from being mobile, but Stephanie has the perfect fix for that and the two hit it off. Stephanie debuts a week later as Spoiler, with a big old taser rifle that modulates its rounds to incapacitate without causing lasting damage. As she gets better, she moves more into close range and adopts the name Nightwing. If anyone in this is the main character, it’d be her. Also, one-sided nemesis towards Red Hood, who she hates for his increasingly violent behavior and she can’t understand why batman won’t go after him.
Alongside Stephanie as Batman’s other sidekick, we have the second Robin, Tim Drake. Formerly a private investigator who got rather mad at batman for his seemingly blind and hasty vengeance, he got persuaded to team up and help make it more clear as to the exact nature of their actions. He eventually adopts the title of Robin, and is kind of the everyman of the group, with none of the mobility devices that the others have (grapnels and a jetpack for Steph), and is frequently left behind grumbling and running for the nearest staircase. Additionally, his M.O. hasn’t changed much since his days as a private investigator, nor has his uniform and as such his identity is paper thin. The civilians love him though, so they keep it secret from any cops who come looking.
Cassandra Cain would take on the title of Catwoman in this setting, in the continuation of swapping around roles. For her backstory, I was inspired by the Young Justice cartoon and the new52 origins. Raised by the head of the league of Assassins Lady Shiva, Cassandra’s larynx was surgically removed at a young age so that she couldn’t learn to speak, and then she was trained to kill. Her first target was a whistleblower at wayne enterprises who helped get the weapons manufacturing shut down, one Miranda Row. After that and the realization that she couldn’t bear to kill again, Cass faked her death and went to ground in the lower levels of gotham. Eventually, Selina Kyle found her and took her in as one of the Cats. In hopes to atone for her crime, Cass tries to act as a guardian angel for Harper and her younger brother. When Harper meets Steph, Cassandra’s conclusion is that the vigilante can aid her in keeping Harper safe, but could also bring danger towards Harper. The two have a rivalry for Harper’s friendship, while also being drawn to each other, because I'm a stephcass shipper (with a side of stephcassharper, because every possible pairing between those three is hilarious). She tries to keep her past actions a secret from Harper, and is adorably unaware that Herper figured it out ages ago and mostly feels pity for what Cassandra was forced into.
And finally, Kate Kane, Batwoman. I’m keeping the military brat background for her, but her parents’ big specialty would be patching people up after battles both physically and mentally. So she’s raised largely abroad and when she eventually returns home to gotham after wiping out of the academy due to moral objections and dont-ask-dont-tell, she finds the place a disaster. Her baby cousin is an orphan and a vigilante, the city’s golden boy hero died then came back as a crime lord, there’s teenage heroes running around everywhere, supervillains causing chaos, and >90% of the police force is corrupt. But you know the saying “when in Rome…” so she adopts the moniker of batwoman and assists in keeping things as peaceful as she can. This includes teaming up with Ra’s to run a clinic for superhumans, with the hope of preventing deaths. She’s seen enough of fighting, and while she will protect people if need be her main focus is rehabilitation. Also she’s the gay godmother to disaster bi Stephanie, because everyone needs a queer elder.
Now I just need to figure out a story and then write the damn thing.
Also I'll probably do the rogues gallery later on. Thinking of an atlantean theme for Poison Ivy (since it's around a bay and the water is filthy), plus dryad elements, and joker being a bit more acrobatics and gadgets themed like the Jester from the 2010 Crisis on Two Earths film... Anyway, thoughts and feedback are valued!

Flamebird and Nightwing mythos are back?
seems like it! at least for the beast world issue that kara and karen are in.
since the beast boy event involves people turning into human/animal hybrids (?), it has karen turning into flamebird:

which is kinda cool. i like that she turned into a kryptonian animal rather than something from earth.

“She didn’t respect the sacrifice. She resented the weakness.”
It wasn’t the kiss. It wasn’t the chamber. It was the moment he said: “I’ll give it all up… for you.” And in that instant? He stopped being the man she wanted. And became the man she pitied. Superman didn’t die. He just gave her the steering wheel.
"He gave up his powers for her.
Got bodied.
Came crawling back.
Fixed the world."
🖠 THE DAY KRYPTONIAN SATAN AND TWO DEMONS CAME TO EARTH (The darkest day in cinematic history — and your dad still won’t talk about it.)
🛡️ WHEN LOIS MADE A GOD KNEEL — The Simping of Superman A Blacksite Literature™ Breakdown of Superman II, Male Frame Loss, and the Weaponization of Female Approval
---
It starts with a cape and ends with a crawl. Superman II isn’t just a movie about three intergalactic tyrants trying to take over Earth. It’s a film about what happens when a god gives up his sovereignty to please a woman who never respected the man — only the mask.
And that’s where we begin.
🧠 THE FIRST RED FLAG? SHE NEVER LIKED CLARK.
Let’s get one thing straight: Lois never “fell” for Clark. She investigated him. Suspected him. Tested him.
And why? Because the dorky journalist with minimum-wage energy and awkward posture couldn’t possibly be enough to satisfy her arousal profile.
She didn’t stumble onto his identity. She chased it — and not out of love, but infatuation with power.
“Clark, you seem… different.”
Yeah, because the real man is hidden behind the costume of the weakling she’d never f*ck.
🎯 NIAGARA FALLS: WHERE “NERDY CHAD” STARTS TO LOOK GOOD
Lois throws herself off a railing. She literally risks death — because she’s so sure Clark is Superman. That’s not romance. That’s a test.
And what does he do? He saves her covertly. Classic.
But that’s not the part that should’ve sent warning bells ringing. It’s the moment when, while cleaning in the hotel room, she suddenly starts to see him.
Why?
Because Clark starts leaking power.
Posture shifts. Cadence cracks. She smells something off-brand — and in women, that always means on-brand arousal.
This wasn’t about “love.” This was about the Chad math checking out.
---
---
🔥 THE FIREPLACE: THE MOMENT HE F*CKED HIMSELF
He trips. He lands in a literal fire. Doesn’t burn. Doesn’t flinch.
She stares.
He stands up like nothing happened.
And instead of holding frame?
Instead of saying “Keep guessing, Lois.”
He says:
“F*ck it, you nosey broad. Happy now?”
And just like that? The fall begins.
💀 THE GHOST DAD SAID NO — BUT SIMP ENERGY PREVAILED
We get to the Fortress of Solitude. We see Kryptonian ancestors — literal cosmic hologram royalty — tell him not to do it.
“You give up your powers… you will never get them back.”
But what does Kal-El do?
He listens to the emotional pull of a woman who loved the god, not the man.
He surrenders his power. Not for justice. Not for peace. Not for purpose.
For Lois. The same woman who never kissed Clark Kent until she realized he wasn’t Clark Kent.
Let that sink in.
🧤 DE-POWERED AND DISRESPECTED IN A BAR BY A TRUCKER
Now he’s human. Now he’s “equal.” Now he’s vulnerable.
How romantic, right?
Until he goes into a diner and gets his ass handed to him by a truck driver named “Rock” who calls Lois ‘sweetheart’ and backhands him into a pinball machine.
You know what’s worse than losing a bar fight?
Losing one when the woman you gave your powers up for is watching.
He bled in front of her. He got stomped. She comforted him.
But deep down?
Her nervous system disconnected that day. She knew the god was gone.
🧊 THE WALK OF SHAME TO THE FORTRESS — NORTH POLE EDITION
He limps. Literally limps back into the frozen tundra. Bare-handed. Broken. Human. Defeated.
He walks back to apologize to the ghosts of his ancestors for letting pssy override destiny.*
Because meanwhile?
Zod, Ursa, and Non — literal cosmic fascists — just walked through the White House like it was a DMV.
They made the President kneel. They were broadcasting world conquest in real-time. And where was Superman?
On his “I think I made a mistake” arc.
😈 ZOD DIDN’T WIN. LOIS DID.
Zod may have conquered the White House. But Lois conquered the soul. And in many ways? That’s worse.
Because Superman didn’t get manipulated by force. He gave it away with open consent. He chose softness. He chose mortal love over immortal legacy.
And in doing so?
He betrayed the divine archetype of masculine frame — for validation.
👁️ SUPERMAN IS THE MAN. CLARK IS THE MASK.
That’s what Lois never understood. She thought Clark was the “real him.” She thought she was peeling back layers to find authenticity.
No.
Superman is the core. Clark is the containment suit.
Superman is who Kal-El is when he isn’t hiding for your comfort. Clark is what he wears to be acceptable to a species that doesn’t deserve him.
And Lois?
She didn’t fall for the man. She fell for the illusion of taming the man.
🩸 THE LESSON? NEVER LOSE YOUR FRAME FOR LOVE.
He was warned. He ignored it.
He walked into a chamber that removed his genetic dominance. For romance.
He hollowed out the legacy of an alien god king so he could lay in a bed next to someone who only touched him once he could fly.
And the punchline?
The moment he got his powers back? She couldn’t keep him.
🕯️ BECAUSE HERE’S THE UNSEEN TRUTH:
Lois never loved Kal-El. She lusted for Superman. She tolerated Clark. She thought she could make them merge.
But when Clark folded, when Superman gave up his heritage?
She got what she wanted. And it wasn’t what she needed.
And that’s the story of 80% of modern relationships.
🧠 SUPERMAN II IS A CAUTIONARY TALE. NOT A LOVE STORY.
It’s a myth.
A reverse Hercules. A power-to-pleasure downgrade wrapped in red tights.
And what’s worse?
It ends with a magical kiss that erases her memory.
Which means even the screenwriters knew:
No woman could respect a man who gave up godhood for her insecurity.
💣 TL;DR:
Lois never loved Clark.
She loved the status of proximity to Superman.
He gave up his powers for her.
Got bodied.
Came crawling back.
Fixed the world.
Erased her memory so she wouldn’t remember how hard he simped.
And people call that romantic.
No. That’s propaganda. That’s emasculation with a cape. That’s frame loss with special effects.

Dan-el god of death 2
Danny was so exited! Clockwork had sent him to an Alien planet! Well technically he was the alien, but he was on another planet! From the looks of it their culture had just entered its medieval era and was ending a massive war. Danny was sent to cleanup all the resentful undead and evil cults, but surly Clockwork wouldn't mind if he experienced some culture. Right?
Due to Clockworks amulet he could translate their language and his name came out as Dan-el. Which was close enough. Apparently alot of the people had seen his fights with the undead. He hung around and taught them somethings and learned about their culture, religion, and most important their stars. Till one day he looked around and had an "Oh Shit" moment when he discovered maybe he had gone to far and taught to much. He had to leave.
Clockwork sent him back to Krypton( Why did that sound so familiar?) multiple times. Each time Danny found himself in new era's. Then Danny noticed something. As the people, Kryptonians, thanked and praised him, he started to feel it. He started to notice that he was getting stronger in and out of time travel. He wondered why?
Clockwork told him. He told of how Krypton had dubed him the god of death. How they told the legend of his deeds on and off Krypton. His fights with Plasmius and Pariah Dark, his half death, and his powers. All went down as in Kryptonian mythology of Dan-el the god of death. Then he learned of Krypton's fate and the last Kryptonians. (Danny cried)
A week later as Danny lay in bed failing to go to sleep, he felt it. Someone still believed.

Needing some fluff/humor over the angst potential of Dick and Bruce not acknowledging each other's relationship to the League...
The thing is, everyone in the League is a professional nosy-parker. Sure, no one will out their colleagues, but you bet there is plenty of silent speculation everyone is indulging in.
So, they've got this new recruit, Nightwing - pretty good at the job, likable, cute. Only, the kid isn't...as much in awe of the trinity or the senior heroes as you'd expect from a teen/twenty something hero.
Not rude or anything, just...apparently long been seeing them as just people.
And there is stuff about the Watchtower or the history that he knows, but shouldn't, because he'd have been like ten when those things happened.
They finally come to the conclusion Nightwing is the son of one of the original members...
The clues they do have - treats gravity as a guideline than law, way too high pain tolerance, born charmer, perfect smile, can talk anyone into or out of anything, loves wearing Superman merch if ever caught out of uniform, knows multiple alien languages including kryptonian.
Also, Clark is going to be considerably less paranoid about hiding his fondness for Dick, because he assumes the secret identity connection doesn't count.
Then Hal checks some old records and comes across Nightwing as a name in Kryptoninan mythology.
The Justice League is convinced Nightwing is Superman's half-human son.
This is before Jon is born, so no one knows what could be the result of kryptonian and human DNA mixing.
Bruce is exasperated, Clark kind-of likes it, Dick is delighted at the potential for trolling.
I love this 💜 so much. Someone please write this and send it to me.

Some magic shenanigans happen that make heroes have aspects of their personas. Stuff like Black Canary, Robin, etc. having feathers and/or wings; Batman's cowl becoming real bat ears; and Nightwing having Kryptonian biology. Heroes with more abstract names/costumes look like they have a cool power-up activated. Villains could also be affected by the magic.
There's plenty of magical things in DC, but I think it could also work as a DP crossover? Maybe the magic event could be Desiree or Fright Knight? He turned inanimate objects into monsters during "Fright Night", so I think costumes would be fair game. Danny could also just Be There while looking more phantom-y than usual lol
Oh this slaps SO MUCH! so many DC heroes have names or character designs inspired by animals, mythology, or references to other franchises.
I don’t want to add too much because there is SO much potential in this and I don’t wanna take it over but I’ll propose a few ideas:
The Riddler would become far more fey-like.
Green Arrow is spotted wearing far more medieval England style clothing by citizens of Star City.
Some speedsters get little wings/feathers on their feet/ears
Aquaman becomes more “monsters of the deep” esque

DPxDC Next Generation Kids (click for clarity)

Continue reading for notes and introductions :)
1) Jove Bryce Wayne (11) - Steph and Cass’ adopted son. He trains under Cass and Bruce, and is widely admired by the other kids for creating his own fighting style with the dancing skills he gets from practicing with his mom (to his delight). Fun fact, he is albino!
2) Marillyn “Mari” Maddy Grayson-Nightingale (10) - Dick and Dan’s daughter. She was an accidental pregnancy, but both of her dads love her very much. Fun fact, she gained her baba’s personality and is rather rebellious and mischievous, which causes Dick to feel sympathetic for Bruce.
3) Elinor “Ellie” Catherine Nightingale (9) - Jason and Jazz’s eldest daughter. She, along with Mari, train under Dick, Jason, and Jazz in order to protect themselves. Fun fact, she looks and acts just like Jason when he was young.
4) Thomas “Tommy” Bruce Drake (5) - Tim, Dani, and Kon’s oldest son. He is an evil genius who uses his cuteness to take over the world. Fun fact, the entire PhantomBat family have given up on convincing him not to, so now they’re just trying to instill morals into him and stall for time (they still love him tho).
5) Marianne “Ann” Talia Nightingale (5) - Jason and Jazz’s youngest daughter. She is Alfie’s twin and is the fun and sunshine to Ellie’s seriousness and Alfie’s gloominess. Fun fact, she got her blonde hair from Sheila Haywood, but she doesn’t know that.
6) Alfonso “Alfie” B Nightingale (5) - Jason and Jazz’s youngest son. He is Ann’s twin and is rather gloomy and antisocial compared to his sisters. Fun fact, he supposedly looks like Bruce when he was young, so he gets away with a lot when dealing with Alfred.
7) Rain Axel Nightingale (4) - Danny and Valerie’s son. He is Misty’s twin and can be rather mischievous, often causing trouble and chaos for the fun of it. Fun fact, he often teams up with Mari to prank everyone in the most ridiculous ways possible.
8) Misty Lilith Nightingale (4) - Danny and Valerie’s daughter. She is Rain’s twin, and is even more shy than Alfie and can start crying when stressed. Fun fact, although she can be anxious easily, her temper is even worse than her mom’s.
9) Ken-el / Kenneth “Kenny” Clark Drake (1) - Tim, Dani, and Kon’s youngest son. Since he is the youngest, he is doted on the most. Fun fact, he has already unlocked most of his halfa abilities due to his Kryptonian heritage.
Notes:
+ Jove’s name relates back to Cassandra’s because they are both names of mythological characters. Jove is another name for Jupiter (AKA Zeus).
+ Both of Mari’s names are actually a weird, mashed up version of Madeline and Mary (and also inspired by Mar’i cough).
+ Jason and Jazz’s daughters are named after Elinor and Marianne from Sense and Sensibilities and their middle names are from Jason’s mother figures in life. I imagine that Jazz had a falling out with Jack and Maddie, so she didn’t really care.
+ Alfie’s name is inspired from Alfred and his middle name is only “B” because Tommy was born first and Tim took the “Bruce” middle name.
+ Alfie and Ann, and Misty and Rain are inspired by Misty and Jackson, the canon kid characters of Sam and Danny. Both pairs of twins have an 8 month difference of age.
+ Why so many twins?? I used the twin idea first for Jazz and Jason, but when I thought of Danny and Valerie, I kept switching between ideas, so I eventually settled on twins for them too. Trust, it was a weird coincidence for Danny and Jazz too when they had twins at nearly the same time.
+ Misty and Rain’s middle names come from Tucker and Sam (Axel Foley and the episode “Life Lessons”). Their first names are inspired by Misty Fenton and I just found another name for Rain to match the theme.
+ Tommy and Kenny technically have different dads, (Tommy is Tim and Dani’s, and Kenny is Kon and Dani’s), but it doesn’t really mean anything, since they don’t pay attention to it.
+ The idea of Tommy, who is like Tim’s clone and absolutely evil, was so funny to me. He’s prob my fav child OC. His entire family know about his manipulative tendencies but he loves them so they let it go. (Damian and Dan have already pledged their allegiance to their future overlord.)
+ The short period of time where Jazz, Dani, and Valerie were pregnant at the same time was hell on earth for everyone.
+ Technically, Bruce only has 7 grandchildren (he cries when he thinks about it a little too hard), but bc they’re so close to Rain and Misty, Bruce thinks of them as his grandchildren too, so he always says he has 9. Danny and Val are like ??? But Rain and Misty totally believe that he’s their grandpa (which he is delighted about).
+ Damian is married to Jon and they have no kids, unless you count the farm they inherited and all of the animals that Damian adopted as his fur babies. However, Damian was young when the kids kept coming, so he became the designated babysitter and then the favorite uncle, which all of the other Batboys despise and are jealous of.
+ Marillyn's age, as well as Misty and Rain's existences, might still be changed by me, just bc at times, it doesn't suit my headcanons or just doesn't make sense in the timeline. So those are susceptible to change.

We Need To Talk About Danny's Power Level.
I was hesitant to make this post, but the more I think about it and the more I see... We really HAVE to discuss this. Generally speaking, I really don't want to be seen as someone who is trying to ruin people's fun within this fandom. I want to inform, and while I have issues with some of the very prevalent ideas in this fandom, I don't want to tell people what they should or should not be making! I want people to follow what they find fun to create! But this power level thing...? I think that it has some rather concerning implications to it that need to be examined and discussed! This is an actual, decently serious problem, and after considering it for a time, it occurs to me that I may be one of the few people in this community that recognizes this issue as an actual issue and has the authority to speak on it...
You NEED to stop making Danny so incredibly overpowered in the DPxDC space.
Now please don't misunderstand me. I understand the value of a good fun power fantasy and making Danny more powerful than God can be fun and cathartic if you have a negative history with the Christian faith. But this insistence on the Ghost Zone being The Most Important Thing Ever and Danny being The Most Powerful Entity Within It is actually actively warping how people interpret and think about DC canon as well as certain characters within its canon to the point of unrecognizability as well as robbing characters of what makes them interesting, the point of their stories, and their agency within it. But most importantly of all, all of this is just... Generally, genuinely dismissive and shitty towards most religions, cultures, beliefs, and faiths that people practice, ESPECIALLY the faiths of POC and other minorities. And this is specifically an issue that DC does not have and that people within this space are making an issue by refusing to let the Ghost Zone and Danny have some limitations.
So that you understand where I'm coming from, please understand that I'm a person of color (I'm half Filipino) and that I'm Buddhist (a religion that I decided to convert to and embrace after a lot of thought and soul-searching, even if I'm not very good at practicing it). It also needs to be stated that in the DC universe, all religions and faiths are true and real at the same time, and they all have more or less equal footing as any other faith or religion or mythology explored in this multiverse. Christian heaven and hell are real. Reincarnation is canonical to the DCU. The Greek Pantheon is real and they are just as real and powerful as the Norse Pantheon. (By the by, just to let you know, yes, people in the real life modern day do actually actively worship both of these pantheons today.) Different alien planets have different faiths, and there is precedent for them being real as well. (Hey! Fun fact! Kryptonians are polytheistic!) It does seem that some form of animism is real within the DCU (within concepts of The Red and The Green)! And there is even representation for indigenous African faiths and beliefs within this shared universe! One of the genuinely wonderful things about the DC universe is that all of these faiths are real, they're all valid, and they are all more or less on equal footing to one another! If all the religions and afterlives and gods of each pantheon went to war with one another, it would genuinely be difficult to know who would win, or who would even stand a chance of coming out of this conflict alive!
In fact, a lot of characters and storylines within the DC universe are actually DEPENDENT on all of these faiths existing and being equally valid at the same time. Do you know where Billy Batson gets his powers from? The phrase "SHAZAM," if you didn't know, is actually an acronym for the names of the gods and heroes that he derives his powers from. (Solomon, Heracles, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury.) And it's implied that each person with SHAZAM powers has different heroes and gods that they derive their power from! (Black Adam derives all of his powers from the Egyptian Pantheon. Mary Marvel derives all of her powers from female gods and heroic figures.) Many of Wonder Woman's stories involve her interacting with various different pantheons. Xanthe Zhou gets their powers from traditional Chinese folk ancestor-worshiping practices. Ragman is a Jewish character whose suit is a powerful Jewish artifact- a suit made out of the souls of sinners that was created to protect the Jewish community. Sun Wukong is an actual character in the DCU and he is JUST as overpowered and immortal ×500 as he should be! And there are like... At least 3 entirely different characters that either are iterations of, claim to be, or pull their powers/inspiration from Anansi! DC celebrates a lot of faiths and religions and are bringing in more beliefs and faiths into their universe all the time! TONS of characters derive their powers from their religions, faiths, and beliefs! And DC celebrates them all as being real and valid to all who practice them! ... And you want them all to be forced to be under the same umbrella and less important and powerful as Danny and the Ghost Zone...
Bringing up ideas of ghosts and afterlives are always going to be loaded subjects because they often inherently rub up against actual living people's practiced religions and beliefs. But a belief in ghosts and dimensions better suited for them is also a valid belief that real life people have. And there is precedent for these beliefs also being real within DC canon. But DC only manages to get away with crossing over as many faiths as it does by saying that they are all real, valid, and while you might see less of some pantheons and more of others, they all exist and are doing their own thing just like they do in real life, just off panel... Are you beginning to see what the problem is...?
In the DPxDC fandom's eagerness to incorporate Danny into the DC universe and to make him powerful enough to go toe to toe with the likes of Superman, it seems that most people immediately overcompensated and that no one has really thought to slow down, stop, and actually think about what they are implying. Because the most common headcanons that I have seen regarding the Ghost Zone and other afterlives and religions? It's that they are all parts of the Ghost Zone, but are all ultimately subordinate to it. And since Danny is the Most Powerful and Important Person in the Ghost Zone... This implies that all religions, faiths and beliefs are less important and are indeed subordinate to the Almighty Danny. That all deities and the people following them should just bow down to Danny's might. This is something that DC, in spite of all of its flaws, has managed to avoid. These religions are REAL religions! Actual faiths practiced by actual people! We are NOT talking about dead, irrelevant pantheons that no one alive worship anymore! We are talking about living, active faiths and religions, some of which colonizers have tried to eradicate from the world! Some of these faiths have been suppressed! Some of the people who practice these beliefs have faced genocide for them! And so saying that the Ghost Zone is bigger, better, and that Danny is more important than any single other faith and afterlife...? THAT'S A SHITTY THING TO DO! You are literally doing the shitty Christian missionary thing, but with a fictional afterlife that consists of fictional characters that you know are not actual religious beliefs! You're landing on the sandy polytheistic shores of the DCU and declaring that the Ghost Zone is actually vaster than every faith already in the DCU and that Danny is more powerful and has authority over your gods! That your beliefs and faith and religion should just take a backseat to the Danny power fantasy! That your real, lived religion is not more important nor should it be respected when Danny is in the room! Of course the Buddha should bow down to Danny! Of course the Jewish people should renounce their faith and worship Danny instead because he's better and more powerful than the Jewish God! Why should people pray to their ancestors when Danny ultimately gets to decide what happens to everyone's ancestors!? If they want good things to happen to their ancestors in the afterlife, they should pray to Danny instead! Not like any form of prayer works or matters in this universe anyway because Danny is Almighty! And he doesn't hear the prayers! By making all faiths subordinate to Danny within these stories, you are saying that anyone who practices these beliefs and faiths within these stories are not valid in their beliefs. The only belief that matters and is real in this universe is the Ghost Zone and whatever will appease Danny the most. And while the characters in these stories are not real, the religions, beliefs, and practices they engage in ARE. And so you are implying that real people's faiths and religions don't matter. You are just dismissing real faiths and beliefs as not something worth thinking about or respecting within your works! You are saying that this fictional American white teenage boy and his goopy green land is more important to you than just being respectful of real people's faiths, beliefs, and religions. That your power fantasy is more important than saying that a person is valid for holding on to their beliefs. That when it comes down to it, that you would rather people choose your Danny power fantasy over their religion being portrayed as important and valid. That is honestly insulting. And really alls that you've done is impose monotheism onto the DC universe. You're just enforcing monotheism on people with extra steps. But instead of it being the Christian God, you've put Danny in that position. THIS IS A SHITTY THING TO DO! THIS SHOULD NOT BE THE DEFAULT HEADCANON THAT PEOPLE HAVE IN THIS FANDOM! PLEASE STOP!
Please understand. I know that you didn't do this on purpose or mean to imply this intentionally. I know that you didn't realize that you were insulting and undermining actual faiths and religions by pushing these ideas on the fandom. If one or two people had these thoughts and headcanons and didn't think very much about what they are implying, this would not be a problem. But for this to be the default is VERY disconcerting! As a Buddhist, it does feel genuinely shitty and insulting to imply that Danny has authority over the Buddha and that he outranks and is more powerful than Sun Wukong. It's not fun to think that my beliefs matter to you less than continuing to play with your Danny power fantasy. That you don't think that the pursuit for enlightenment and inner peace is real or worthwhile. That you would find my pursuit of compassion over everything else to be silly, stupid, and laughable when stood next to Danny. I know that you don't mean it. I know that's not what you meant to imply. But it is what you imply by making every faith subordinate to the Ghost Zone. And as someone who has a faith that is so often seen as subordinate to others and just a silly little play fantasy that doesn't matter and isn't real, it's depressing and uncomfortable to see this community as a whole unknowingly echo these sentiments. People in real life don't think that my faith is valid. People don't believe me when I say that I'm Buddhist. And as someone who is Filipino on top of that, I can't help but to think about the utter tragedy of my ancestors being forced to convert to Christianity or die. To forget their beliefs, pretend they never mattered, and embrace Jesus. To be forced to believe that their indigenous beliefs didn't matter. And so many of those indigenous beliefs are now lost and forgotten to their living ancestors (including myself) for it because to the Christians, their belief in Jesus was ultimately more important to them than just letting the Filipino beliefs and religions peacefully exist as they were. It's uncomfortable to me that you would rather I just embrace this view of Danny and let him be more important than and be an authority over my religion. That I should just be comfortable in Danny being more important and better than every religion that people actually practice in real life. That I should just forget the insult to my and any other religion that you make by placing Danny as more important than, and to "just have fun." But I can't. And these ideas are everywhere in this fandom. Even in stories where it shouldn't matter or doesn't need to be present, it's there. This reminder that you don't take my faith seriously- these ideas that Danny is more important than my faith are ubiquitous to this community. An issue that wasn't present in either of the original source materials. Because they thought about it and so went out of their way to not imply it. But here, people are just not willing to make that courtesy for even a second.
But it doesn't have to be this way. You can do better! I know that you can do better. And it isn't even difficult to do! All that you need to do better is to simply... Just... Think about it. When you imply or say "all afterlives are part of the Ghost Zone" actually think about ALL afterlives! Christian and Atheist and Greek ones, yes. But also Asian and Native American and African and South American ones too! Is that kind of thought fair towards Native American faiths, Buddhists, Jews, Hindus, Palestinians, Hellenists, Animists, and every other person and group that practices a faith? Or does this have majorly fucked up implications towards some or all of these people? If the answer is yes, you can proceed, but you need to be mindful of that fact and just think about it, even if only a little. Even if it's just a small acknowledgement that you don't know what you're talking about or that you are choosing to ignore some of the fucked up implications you're making here for the sake of the story in the tags. I just want you to take a moment and think through the implications of what you are making, and to make a choice on whether you should proceed or reconsider things. If you choose to proceed with the fucked up implications, that's fine. It means that you can do so with other mindsets in mind and can possibly use these ideas in interesting ways! At least you made a stance to possibly be shitty towards some people for the sake of your fun. At least you made the choice to say that some people's beliefs just don't matter to your story. This is a neutral statement. Some works of art are just not made for some kinds of people. And that's fine. But it is always better to knowingly acknowledge and make that choice than to pretend that it isn't there. And if you didn't realize that's what you were doing? If you reconsider and choose to turn back on this idea? At least you made that choice and didn't just passively follow the rest of the crowd to get here. Hopefully, thinking about it will make you more mindful about your art in the future and therefore make it better! The only thing to do about it is to acknowledge that you weren't thinking about the implications, but that you changed your mind, and move forwards with your life.
Now just to be entirely clear, I'm not telling you that I want you to feel guilty about being inconsiderate towards other faiths. That doesn't really do anyone any good. I won't get any satisfaction from you feeling guilty about it or internally punishing yourself for it. Just actually give what you might be implying more thought in terms of religion next time and do better. It's alright to make mistakes. We are all just human and we all make mistakes. Sometimes we don't even realize when we've made a mistake. Just strive to do better next time, be more willing to let go of these ideas that you're so attached to, allow yourself to see things from another perspective, and move on. Sometimes, it's better to just leave things alone. Sometimes you shouldn't meddle and try to rework ideas that were perfectly good on their own to begin with. Sometimes nothing that you personally can add will be a positive contribution. Sometimes the only thing that interfering will do is over-complicate things and rob the idea of what made it so interesting and powerful in the first place. But it's okay to leave it alone. It's going to be okay. I'm not angry. Just disappointed and a little frustrated. But it's better if you are able to just drop these things and move forwards with mindfulness in the future.
As an alternative, I think that it would generally be better for the Ghost Zone to just be its own thing separate from the other afterlives. Equal to other afterlives and not all-encompassing of them. It can be connected or related to other afterlives, but being greater than them as a whole is just a very uncomfortable and cruel implication. You don't need the Ghost Zone to be the most important thing in the multiverse. And Danny does not need to be the most powerful thing in existence. Please. It's okay to have power fantasies. But the invincible overpowered stronger than all Gods Danny should not be the overwhelming norm here to the detriment of everything else. It's only when you let go of Danny NEEDING to be the MOST important thing in the multiverse can you start to really dive into some of the more interesting sides of characters on their own terms and not on yours! Like... Did you know that there is one ghost character in DC called The Spectre and that he's the literal personification of the wrath of God? Did you know that Xanthe Zhou as a spirit envoy is actually half dead and half alive? Did you know that The Wizard Shazam is actually, secretly an aboriginal god? Did you know that in the DC universe that Judas Iscariot still walks the Earth to this day, doing vigilante work to atone for his betrayal of Jesus? Did you know that Ra's Al Ghul's mom has met and hung out with some of the demons that Sun Wukong fought against in Journey to the West? Hell, did you know that Damian is Buddhist!? Imagine that. Danny coming in and telling Damian that he's more important and more powerful than Damian's entire religion. That the Buddha is just a lackey of his and that he rules over all afterlives, including nirvana and cycles of reincarnation. I'm certain that Damian would take that very well and accept it wholeheartedly! Don't you agree with me?!!?!???!
I personally think that all of this is better and more interesting if characters, their religions, and ideas in general are able to interact with Danny's world on their own terms without being forced to fit within Danny's box! You don't need to try to force everything within DC's universe to fit inside Danny's. DC wouldn't ask for Danny's universe to conform to theirs! They would just add everything that Danny's universe has to offer on top of everything else they already have! And trying to fit the entire DC multiverse within the scope of Danny's universe... It's too small a box for too large of a universe! Sometimes you can just let things not be deeply connected. And sometimes things don't need a complicated explanation and it can literally just be magic. There's nothing wrong with trying to tie everything together in a neat and succinct way. But sometimes you need to pull your view out a little and look at what you're doing and genuinely ask yourself if what you're doing actually adds depth, or if it does more harm than good and makes everything worse, make less sense, and more complicated or not. It's okay to fall down the rabbit hole sometimes. I completely understand that happening and do it all the time! Just remember to be mindful about it!
Either way, if you're going to insist on desperately clinging onto these ideas of Danny being the Most Important and Powerful Thing in the Multiverse to the detriment of literally everything else, that's fine. But just be honest with what you're doing and why. This isn't a Ghost King Danny AU. Kingdoms don't have unequivocal power over other and all kingdoms. It's a God Emperor over all Gods Danny AU. Nothing wrong with that concept in of itself. Just tag it properly as something like "God King Danny" so that I don't have to deal with it and the implications you're making about my religion with it. That would be enough! I would be happy with that! Just make your choice. Think about what you're doing, why you're doing it and choose. If you choose to keep going, that's fine! All the more power to you! Have fun! But be honest about what you're making. I may not like it and think that it's an overdone, overplayed idea at this point, but you're free to do it! So go forwards and make what will bring you joy! But now that you've thought about it a little, hopefully you'll continue with a little more knowledge and foresight. And hopefully that will make your work even more interesting and better for it! And if you decide to change course, I'm glad that I was able to sway you and get you to see things from my perspective and come to my side on this. At the very least, hopefully this will help to vary up ideas within the fandom a bit and you won't just take ideas that are happening in this space entirely for granted and as givens! I have so many ideas on interesting ways that these intersections can go and characters that you can use, and ways to look at this community that offer so so SO many interesting story directions! I'm so happy that you've decided to come with me on this journey! You're going to make something great, I'm certain of it! So let's make something wonderful together! I believe in you! There's a lot of fun to be had! ^.^

Who do you think would be the best DC hero to appear in MAWS and why is it Wonder Woman?
...I think the best DC hero to show up in MAWS is Mister Miracle, actually.
-We already have hints at Apokolips as one of the factors which took down the Kryptonian Empire and Scott was raised on Apokolips.
-MAWS already has a major focus on technology as part of its worldbuilding and Mister Miracle is a very tech-y gadget-y superhero with the added benefit of also being from space like Superman. Also the fact that his flight is dependent on his Aero-discs would give him a noticeable visual contrast to Superman's style of flight.
-Scott's Mister Miracle definitely has an aspect of PERFORMANCE!! and SHOWMANSHIP!!! as part of his overall superhero persona which would be a fun contrast against Clark's more warm and gentle Superman.
-It would literally be so so so funny to see Scott nearly kill himself multiple times with his crazy Mister Miracle stunts and freak Clark the fuck out only for Scott to be perfectly fine.
-You have a very cool potential drama factor since Scott could be a refugee of both Apokolips's general suckiness and Krypton's attempts at conquest, so he could have a lot of potential interactions with Kara.
-Mister Miracle and Big Barda are basically a package deal, which means MAWS would have TWO wifeguys now, plus Scott and Barda also have a size difference like Clark and Lois but it's gender-swapped.
-Introducing the New Gods is a good way to HINT at Darkseid without immediately cramming Darkseid down everyone's throats.
-Introducing non-trinity Superheroes is a good way to significantly expand MAWS's universe without elbowing out Lois and Jimmy as Clark's primary co-stars.
-I love them.
BONUS: Basically since we see Clark be very conscientious about how much damage he can do as Superman, it would be very funny to have that contrasted against Scott and Barda, with Barda FUCKING WRECKING EVERYTHING and Scott cheering her on.
I love Diana, I do, but the heart and soul of her character is magic and mythology, and I feel it would be really difficult to introduce her to the MAWS-universe in a way that meshes with that show's worldbuilding without changing massive parts of her character. Again, I stress: I would prefer if other members of the Trinity got their own shows establishing them in their own rights rather than just being shoehorned into MAWS.
#dc#my adventures with superman#mister miracle#scott free#big barda#scottbarda#this has been my 'put mister miracle in MAWS' propaganda

I like to think that Kara has seriously contemplated sending Dick to the phantom zone at least a handful of times. The first was that date from hell. Three have been over Babs (when Dick got with her, their first fight, and then their breakup). The latest was after learning that her cousin (Kon) had/has a crush on him.
Actually the second time was when Clark told her that Dick is going to be using Nightwing as his superhero name ("he doesn't know shit about kryptonian mythology!")

Superman and Robin
I think that Clark Kent and Dick Grayson should have a closer relationship than is typically depicted in comics- in the old Silver Age Days, Superman had the role of the Nightwing, which was a hero from Kryptonian mythology as the protector of the weak. The fact Dick is called that now indicates both a close relationship (Superman wouldn't just tell that story to anyone, I think) and a deep respect for Big Blue.
Headcanon: There’s no specific comic about it, but I like to think that Clark explained the myth of the Flamebird and the Nightwing to young teen Dick Grayson which lead to him picking the name. The Flamebird was the hero of the daylight, the warrior who held the sky firm against the invaders shaking at its gates- while the Nightwing was the hero in the night, who protected people from themselves, and held back the dark.

good news though! The actor who plays Superman in the new Superman movie is a Jewish man! David Corenswet is his name, he’s Juilliard trained, and a Jewish man from Philly.
I don’t know if you’re a comic fan like me but a lot of Superman’s mythology is drawn from Jewish faith and beliefs. The character isn't supposed to be Jewish but he's definitely heavily inspired by the creators faith. The characters he was inspired by at his creation were John Carter of Mars, Samson and Moses according to his creators two of which are prominent characters in Jewish faith.
Additionally his original heroic role as a defendant of the oppressed during the 1930s considering what Jewish people were going through was very deliberate. Especially when his role was inspired by the Golem from Jewish faith which is usually a being created from Clay made to protect the innocent, marginalized and oppressed within a society, particularly the Jewish people within those communities. Which is literally what Clark initially did, before settling on his alien origin he was even supposed to be an actual Golem made from newspaper.
Even his name and disguise are Jewish coded with his Kryptonian name Kal-El being Hebrew in origin and his disguise as Clark of slicked back hair hidden in a cap being something that Jewish men often did to hide their curly hair and avoid prosecution.
So while Superman as a character is definitely not Jewish a noticeable amount of his Mythos are inspired by Jewish faith due to his creators being Jewish.
So I think it’s pretty cool that Superman is being played by a Jewish man. Kinda comes full circle, don’t you think?
yesss I’ve been making people angry being happy about it on twitter. i don’t think there’ll be much judaism in the movie but it does look like we’re getting a Real superman and not another grimdark dudebro fantasy, so that’s really good. also heard Christopher Reeve’s son is gonna make an appearance in some way and that makes me happy.

I wonder if comic book heroes ever release comic books about themselves as a publicity stunt. I can totally see Clark ‘teaming up with Superman’ to write a picture book or something about Kryptonian mythology. Releasing a comic series about Kon is totally something Rex would do. I could see Captain America writing a picture book about how different things are in the modern day and all the new things he likes. Peter or Billy (once he’s old enough) could do it to make a quick buck. Bruce’s kids would totally make/buy Batman and Robin comics specifically to mess with him. Damian would pretend to find is frivolous but would have so much fun drawing him and Bruce.

Do you know of any stories where Nightwing fights Superman villains? I was just thinking that'd be really cool to see, both because of his connection to the mythos (I imagine someone like Zod would be pissed to see some human using a name from Kryptonian mythology), and because it's fun to see a low/no powered hero beat someone far stronger with just their wits
Crowdsourced this one to a couple of friends to make sure I didn't miss anything major and here's what we came up with:
Lex (both alongside Clark and alone, several times)
Brainiac and Maxima (Superman: Panic in the Sky)
Technically both Imperiex and Brainiac 13 via saving Babs from time-travelling assassins (Nightwing: Our Worlds at War)
Robot Superman (Titans/Young Justice: Graduation Day)
Alexander Luthor Jr. (Infinite Crisis)
Intergang (Batman/Nightwing/Robin One Year Later, during the one year timeskip)
Magog and Snakepit (Nightwing 2016, #24) (Note: Snakepit is a villain of Kong Kenan's Super-Man; I don't think he's ever fought Clark)
various Superman villains alongside Clark and Bruce in World's Finest (2022), including Cyborg Superman and Mr. Mxyzptlk
Plus Parasite in Young Justice Season 1's "Performance," if you want to start counting shows.
There are also one-off issues here and there that we found or remembered, particularly from Superman/Batman (2003), but I didn't want to give you potential recs that I either haven't read in a long time or haven't read at all. This also goes for the Silver Age World's Finest run, where I'm sure that Dick fought against at least a few of Clark's villains.
Dick unfortunately just missed teaming up with Chris Kent (also Nightwing) to fight Zod during the New Krypton arc, so sorry to say we've never got that reaction from Zod.
