Jason is a hopeless romantic 100%
it just doesnt show
But everyone goes to him whn its time to plan dates
Dick: Hey, can I ask you something?
Jason, reading: No.
Dick: You see, Wally and I have our weekly date night coming up, but we've been to pretty much every place there is. You got any ideas for how to shake things up?
Jason: *scribbles coordinates and tosses him the Bat-plane keys*
[later]
Wally: Wow, I've never been to the top of the Eiffel Tower.
Dick: I'm glad you like it.
Dick: *texts Jason a thumbs up*
Jason: *read at 8:55 PM*
———————
Tim: Jason, glad you're here! I totally forgot it's me and Bernard's six-month anniversary. Help me out, man.
Jason, clipping his toenails: Fine. You better write this down 'cause I'm only saying it once.
Tim: *nods*
Jason: Go to Home Depot. You're gonna need some rope, a tarp, hammer and nails, a hatchet, matches, and fuel. After that...
Tim: *furiously takes notes*
[later]
Bernard: A camping trip was a great idea. It's nice to get away from it all. And I can't believe you set this all up yourself.
Tim, chuckling nervously: What's a boyfriend for if not to build a tent and chop down a tree?
———————
Duke: So the school dance is coming up.
Jason, working: Theme?
Duke: Under the sea.
Jason: Ugh, how cliché. Anyway, Armand's Tailoring has a blue suit that'll match whatever your girlfriend's wearing. Tell him I sent you. After that, call Patricia's Bistro and make a reservation with the code word "surreptitious." Alfred can take you in the limo if you give him a 24-hour heads-up to clean it. Once you're there, remind the DJ he owes me a favor to get your song requests bumped up. And remember, a slow dance is basically moving your feet in a square but otherwise go with the flow.
Duke: Sweet, thanks!
———————
Cass: Steph is sad.
Jason, cooking: *sighs*
Jason: *takes out a tub of ice cream*
Jason: *scoops a hole in the middle*
Jason: *fills it with candy*
Jason: Here.
Cass: Thanks!
———————
*phone rings*
Jason, waking up from a nap: What?
Kory: Sorry if I woke you. Barbara's coming over for breakfast in half an hour but I burned it with my powers. It was supposed to be eggs benedict.
Jason: Order takeout and put it on fancy plates.
Kory: You're a lifesaver—
Jason: *already hung up and went back to sleep*
———————
Kate: It's Renee's birthday tomorrow. I have a gift, but I'm not sure if it's good enough.
Jason, polishing his gun: If it's from you, it will be.
———————
Bruce: *walks in*
Bruce: Hey, son. Selina's not talking to me after our argument. How do I tell her how much she means to me?
Jason, reciting Shakespeare: I know no ways to mince it in love, but directly to say, "I love you."
Bruce: You're right. I'm just gonna tell it to her straight. Thank you.
Bruce: *leaves*
Jason: *takes off his headphones and turns around*
Jason: Did someone say something?
———————
Damian: Todd, what is love supposed to feel like?
Jason: Why do you want to know?
Damian: None of your concern. Now tell me.
Jason: *shoots a training dummy*
Jason: It's when they're lodged in your head like a bullet. Except without the excruciating pain and messy red stuff.
Damian, nodding: Tell me more.
———————
Roy: *takes down a villain*
Jason, sitting on a roof: *wolf whistles*
Roy: The hell?
Jason: I know hot when I see it.
Roy: What are you doing here?
Jason: I brought Arrowdogs.
Roy: You hate Arrowdogs.
Jason: But you don't.
Roy: Aw, how sweet—EYES UP HERE, TODD!

Lucy Bronze x Ona Batlle

———————————————————————
Thursday, December 17th; 7:00 PM - Ona and Alexia's Room.
I collapse face down on my bed as soon as I step into my room. All I can think about is being on vacation. It’s about to become reality. To be honest, I’m struggling to grasp that starting tomorrow, I’ll be home for two whole weeks. It feels strange, but it’s definitely going to do me good. These last few weeks have been intense, and I really need a break. I have a splitting headache from all the constant studying. It feels like a hammer pounding in my head without rest. I just got back from Bronze after studying for my last exam, which is tomorrow. I’m relieved to see the end in sight because it was turning into a real disaster. The pressure and anxiety of not succeeding took over, and I started working more than I should have. I felt like the study sessions at Bronze weren’t enough anymore. I became obsessed, to the point of breaking curfew multiple times to study late into the night. The lack of sleep started affecting my behavior. I became unintentionally aggressive, which caught the attention of my supervisor. She noticed the bags under my eyes and figured out what was going on. Let’s just say she gave me a good scolding. Her decision was final, no matter what I said. She took all my study materials out of my room to control my workload. She almost punished me, but she held back when she saw my state. Our relationship has taken another step forward. I think she’s changed since she asked me to call her by her first name outside of school. She’s more open than before. Sometimes, I even call her Lucy when our study sessions run late, and she doesn’t mind. It’s become much more pleasant to spend time with her. She’s reached the point where she can tell what I’m thinking or feeling just by observing me. It’s very unsettling to be read like that. When she realized my problem with studying, she immediately found the right words to reassure me. Ever since she took my things on Friday night, she’s been coming by my room every evening to make sure I get back into a good sleep routine. Still, I’m mentally exhausted. All these exams were too much, and I’m starting to miss my family. I haven’t seen them in a month, hence my eagerness for the holidays.
“Are you done with your revisions at Bronze?”
Alexia snaps me out of my drowsiness. I must have dozed off without realizing it because I didn’t even hear her come in. I groan when she flops down on my back without any consideration. She kisses my cheek before resting her head on mine. Without knowing it, Alexia has started to break down my boundaries around physical contact.
“I came to get you for dinner. You’re coming, right? The others are already there.”
“Yeah,” I mumble into my pillow. “I’m starving. But I’m coming back here afterward.”
“Don’t worry, I was planning on coming back here too.”
“Come on, get off me!” I say, wriggling. “I’m starving!”
I laugh as she teases me by pressing down on me even harder. She finally gets up, but not before giving my butt a playful slap.
“Hey!” I exclaim, feigning indignation.
“Oops,” she says with an innocent look.
I smile and roll my eyes. Without her, I would have probably sunk into a deep depression. I was so angry with Lucy that first night she took my stuff that I was mad at the whole world. Alexia was there that night, and since then, she hasn’t let a single evening pass without making me laugh. She helped me think about other things, and that’s how I came to understand Lucy’s actions. To succeed, I also needed to learn to let go and have some fun. And that’s what I’ve been doing with Alexia. We’ve relaxed a lot, and she even took the opportunity to share new stories from her childhood. I took the chance to tell her about my relationship with Mapi as well. I had promised her a while ago that I would talk about it, so I did. Alexia is someone I really appreciate. She’s strong, and she has such a contagious joy. With those thoughts in mind, we head to the cafeteria in good spirits.
“Have you heard from Mapi these last few days?”
“Not really. She’s also busy studying. Why?”
“Just wondering.”
I don’t press further as we enter the cafeteria. We grab our trays and join our friends who are already seated. I greet the people I haven’t seen yet today. Since our day in the snow, our group sometimes expands at meals with the addition of girls who joined the snowball fight the other day. That’s the case tonight with Ella and Alessia joining us. They’ve taken the usual spots where Ale and I sit, but we don’t mind and take the seats opposite them. Over time, I’ve learned that Alessia is actually Leah’s sister. I figured it wasn’t a coincidence that I get along so well with her. Looking back, I realize they have quite similar personalities. They’re both very calm and thoughtful. Alessia once confided that she thought I had a crush on her sister. I quickly reassured her that we’re just good friends and that it would never go beyond that. I focus on the conversation going around the table. It’s about our upcoming vacation. Everyone is really excited. I get it; I feel the same way. I’m starting to get impatient for tomorrow. I can finally breathe and see my loved ones again.
“Do you already have plans for New Year’s, Ona?” Alba asks me.
“Not really. I guess I’ll spend it with Mapi, but we haven’t talked about it yet.”
“See, I told you she’d already have something planned,” his sister comments.
“Well, technically, nothing’s set yet. Why?”
They exchange a knowing look before Leah decides to speak up.
“To be honest, we usually spend it together here in Manchester. We were hoping you’d join us if you didn’t have any plans.”
“Really? Where do you do it?”
“It’s at our place,” Alessia explains. “We live here, and our parents usually go celebrate New Year’s with their friends.”
“I see. Is this the first time you’ve done this?” I ask curiously.
“No, this will be the third year we’ve done it together,” Ale responds. “It’s the only holiday we can all spend together, so we make the most of it.”
I nod, understanding perfectly. This idea excites me a lot. It would be so cool to finally be able to spend an evening with them outside of school. It’s definitely better than spending a drunken night at Mapi’s friend’s place. Still, I don’t want to leave Mapi behind. We’ve barely spent any time together since I’ve been here. Besides, we’ve always celebrated New Year’s together ever since we met. I know she’s expecting us to spend this one together too. We don’t even need to talk about it to know that.
“I would love to come, but I can’t leave Mapi alone,” I share.
“Why don’t you bring her along?” Alba suggests.
“That’s true, it’s a good idea,” Ale adds. “I really want to meet her after everything you’ve told me about her. Do you think she’d agree?”
“I see why you suddenly asked if I’d heard from her,” I say with an amused smile.
“Yes, well,” she rolls her eyes with a knowing smile. “I wanted to know if you’d already talked about it. Seriously, would it be possible? It’s a bit of a crazy plan, but doable, right?”
“I don’t know. It’s going to be complicated. She has a girlfriend, and I doubt she’d want to celebrate without her,” I grimace. “I’ll ask her and see what she says. Anyway, I want to come, but not without her.”
“She seems important to you,” Lotte comments.
“Well… yeah. She’s my best friend, you know. She’ll always come first.”
“See, I told you she’d say yes,” Patri laughs. “It’ll be awesome if you come. You’re part of the group now.”
I smile sincerely at her. It’s true that I’ve really integrated into their group by now. They’ve been very welcoming from the start, unlike me, who only did things my way. Now, it’s very different. A real friendship has formed between them and me. I was about to respond when someone taps me on the head with an object that echoes above me. I instinctively duck my head to avoid the attack, even though it doesn’t really help. When I try to turn around to see who it is, two large hands on my shoulders stop me.
“What has Mapi done now?”
I relax and lean back against Lucy, recognizing her voice. I expected to see her tonight before curfew.
“Nothing,” I giggle. “We were talking about New Year’s.”
“Oh. I thought you’d heard from her.”
“Briefly this morning, to talk about tomorrow. By the way, she sends her regards,” I say, lifting my head to finally see her.
“That’s nice of her.”
“Yeah. Did you want something specific?”
“I wanted to return the pen you left on my desk. It would be a shame to take your last exams without it, right?”
I smile as I take it back when she dangles it in front of my nose. What would I do without her? Probably not much. I can’t say it’s my lucky pen because I don’t believe in that sort of thing. However, I’m the kind of person who doesn’t like to change their habits once I’ve found something that works for me. That’s exactly how it is with this pen. I would have been frustrated to have to use another one for my last exam.
“Oh, thanks! You didn’t have to. Are you also returning my notes?”
“You need to stop taking advantage of my kindness. I’ll give them back tomorrow.”
“What kindness?” I laugh. “I’m old enough to manage my own sleep schedule.”
“No, you’re not. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have taken your notes.”
I sigh, crossing my arms. Well, I can’t complain too much. It’s true that she’s become nicer than before, even though she still treats me like a kid in some ways. It’s really frustrating, but I guess I’m partly to blame. She knows why she’s keeping my stuff. I would have been tempted to study tonight otherwise.
“Fine, I’ve recovered,” I protest.
“Ona,” she scolds. “I should make you run laps to tire you out tonight.”
“Actually, I think I’ll be fine,” I grimace.
“That’s what I thought. Everything will be fine, anyway. You’re ready.”
“Yeah,” I sigh. “If you say so.”
“I do say so,” she confirms. “Alright, I’ll come by your room before curfew.”
“Wait,” I quickly try to stop her.
“What? Hurry up, Engen is waiting for me.”
I turn to see that, indeed, she’s waiting at their table. I’m not used to sitting with my back to them. I like being able to see Lucy when we’re eating at the same time.
“Ona?” she calls out.
“Sorry… Um… Actually, I have a headache. I was wondering if you could bring me an aspirin or something?”
“Is it just a headache?” she frowns.
I smile when she instinctively places her hand on my forehead. Since my withdrawal and the flu, she worries about every little thing I might have. Well, it’s true that I’m still a bit fragile, but not to that extent.
“I just have a migraine. It’s probably from the studying.”
“And you dare ask me to give back your notes?”
“Oh, come on,” I say, feeling my cheeks flush slightly. “Can you bring me something then?”
“I’m not a walking pharmacy, but I’ll bring you something later.”
“Cool, thanks! And enjoy your meal.”
"Thanks, same to you."
She ruffles my hair before heading back to her table. I place my pen on the tray and watch it for a moment. My smile widens at the thought that she really knows me well.
"Well, you've got quite the bond," Patri chuckles.
"Hmm, if you say so," I shrug.
"It's true," Ella insists. "You're the only student she treats like that."
"We also spend a lot of time together," I shrug again.
"That's for sure," Ale laughs. "You're with her more often than with me!"
"Yeah, anyway, can we get back to the New Year's topic? If you want, we can call Mapi together later," I suggest.
"Oh yeah! That's a great idea, that way we can ask her directly!"
"That's exactly what I was thinking."
Even from a distance, my best friend manages to be loved. I'll keep to myself the fact that Mapi was jealous of Ale at first. She joked about it, but I know she was genuinely jealous. Still, I have no doubt they would get along. They're both so wild when they want to be, and it could cause some real chaos.
"By the way, how does Bronze know her?" Ale arches an eyebrow.
I freeze at her question. Damn, I hadn’t thought about that. You can’t really say they know each other. They’ve only talked once when I had a rough night. Otherwise, it often happens that Bronze comes to my room when I’m on the phone with her on the weekends. So, they greet each other, and sometimes they even tease each other (usually about me).
"Oh, well, you know, we often talk on the weekends, so Bronze hears me talking to her," I shrug.
"Hmm, hmm," she replies skeptically. "I must be missing out on some interesting stuff on the weekends."
"Not really," I laugh nervously.
Great, Ona. Very convincing. If she knew I often sneak out of school thanks to Bronze, I have no doubt she’d have something to say about it.
"Well, I’m done. I’m going back to the dorm. I can’t stand my headache anymore."
"Yep, I’ll join you soon."
I nod and wish everyone else a good evening before leaving the table. I clear my tray and then head out to face the cold. I hesitate for a moment to take the emergency exit to get there faster, but Bronze would kill me if she found out. So, I force myself to take the main entrance. I regret this choice when I hear the noise coming from the common room. Someone forgot to close the door. It makes me realize how disrespectful students can be. They struggle to understand they’re not alone. I escape the noise by going upstairs to avoid worsening my migraine. When I get to the room, I decide to shower immediately so Ale will have space when she returns. In the meantime, she comes back to tell me that she changed her mind under the influence of the others and is heading back down to the common room for a bit. At least I’ll have some time alone. Or so I thought until I come face to face with Bronze as I’m leaving the bathroom.
"You scared me!"
"Sorry, I was looking for you," she smiles softly.
"No problem..."
"Here, for your migraine."
"Oh, thanks... Wait, let me find a sweater first, I’m cold."
"You’re not getting sick again, are you? You’re trembling like a leaf."
"I don’t think so. I’m just cold," I say as I grab a sweater from the closet.
The shower had warmed me up, but the room is cold compared to the sauna I created in the bathroom. Let’s just say that shorts and a T-shirt aren’t enough in these circumstances.
"Your lack of sleep probably isn’t helping."
"Stop blaming everything on that. Don’t forget I’ve only lived in hot countries."
"Hmm..." she says skeptically.
"Anyway, I’m on vacation starting tomorrow at eleven. I’ll have two long weeks to sleep."
"That’s true."
I first put down my phone and computer before going over to her to take the pillbox and a small bottle of water she thoughtfully brought me. I quickly swallow a pill with a few sips of water.
"Can I keep them?"
"Only the bottle. You know the rules."
She smiles at me sympathetically. It’s clear that it’s not safe to leave a pillbox with a former addict.
"It’s not like I’m going to get high."
"You could be capable of it. Now, give me the box."
I don’t argue and hand it back to her before slipping under my blanket. Without asking her opinion, I turn on my computer. I squint, noticing that Lucy doesn’t seem to want to leave.
"Are you planning to stay here for a while?"
"No."
She grabs my desk chair and places it between the two beds before sitting down. I look at her skeptically.
"I’d like to talk about tomorrow."
I frown, not understanding where she’s going with this. She leans back in the chair and crosses her arms.
"For two things. First, how do you feel about the exam?"
I sigh and shake my head. She’s not going to let this go. I had a moment of panic, and now she’s back on my case.
"I’m not trying to bother you. I can tell you’re stressed, which is why I’m asking."
"Who wouldn’t be stressed in my position? I’m a little bit, I admit. But it’s not because of the exam. Well, the dice are cast since it’s the last one... I’m scared because I don’t know if I’ve passed or not."
She nods understandingly. I bite my lip and look down. I feel ridiculous for being so worried over something so minor.
"Hey. No matter the result, you can’t say you didn’t give it your best shot. Okay?" she asks, placing her hand on my leg to get my attention.
"A little bit, maybe. I should have worked harder from the start."
"You were lost back then, and now you have regrets. That’s completely normal, but don’t forget that since then, you’ve pulled yourself together. You’ve made the necessary effort to catch up, so let me tell you... You have nothing to blame yourself for, understand?"
I sigh, nodding slowly. She always has the right words, it’s incredible.
"I get it... I’ll try not to torture myself over it anymore. What’s the second thing?"
"Your return home."
"Lucy," I groan. "I’ll behave, I promise."
"I’m just asking you to be reasonable, OK? Don’t feel obligated to go to parties if you don’t want to, and if there’s any issue—"
"I’ll come talk to you, I promise," I finish for her.
"Good," she sighs. "It’s time for you to sleep."
"No, please. I’d like to call Mapi first. I have something to sort out."
"Alright," she concedes. "You have half an hour. Then you turn everything off."
"OK."
"And in case you’re wondering, I plan to stay here to make sure of it."
"You can’t be serious," I groan. "I don’t need a babysitter."
"You’ll have to deal with it. I want to make sure you sleep on time tonight."
"Who says I won’t have a private conversation with Mapi?"
"Is that the case?"
"Not particularly... The others suggested spending New Year’s here with Mapi. I wanted to ask her about it. It’s a good idea, right?"
"Hmm," she says unconvincingly.
"At least you won’t be far if there’s a problem," I tease.
"I’ll probably have something better to do than look after you during that evening, you know."
"True... I thought you’d be happy about it," I say, opening the FaceTime app. "I’m at least reassured that you won’t be far."
"If you’re reassured, it means you still don’t trust yourself. Anyway, it’s definitely better than a party full of strangers."
"It’s not the best, that’s for sure. I’ve never really liked those kinds of places anyway," I shrug.
"Then why do you go? To put on a show?" she laughs.
"I don’t know. To have fun, I guess. Isn’t that what everyone does when they go to those kinds of places?"
"I guess. I don’t know. I’ve always found those parties stupid."
"Is it just me, or does this topic seem to annoy you?"
"It doesn’t."
I lift my head from my screen to smile at her. It does annoy her for some reason. I know she won’t elaborate, but she could at least be honest.
"You don’t want me going to those kinds of parties, do you?"
"I’d prefer you didn’t, indeed," she admits.
"Alright, you win," I roll my eyes. "If I stay in Barcelona for New Year’s, it’ll be my last party. Is that okay?"
"Wasn’t that already the plan? You promised me you wouldn’t go to any more parties after what happened last time."
Thinking about it, I realize she’s right. I’m not supposed to go to any more parties. I bite my lip, wondering how she managed to get her way. She has such an influence on me that it’s becoming scary. However, with her recent reaction, I can’t tell if it’s because she wants what’s best for me or because she has particular issues with parties. Maybe it’s both.
"I still get New Year’s, though... right?"
She rolls her eyes with a small smile.
"I told you to just be reasonable. Isn’t that clear enough?"
"Thanks..." I exhale. "You scared me for a moment."
"Use these holidays to clear your head and stop thinking about school."
"That’ll be hard. I’ll miss your orders."
"Be glad to be away from my demands. I must be annoying to you," she says, making me laugh. "What’s so funny?" she frowns.
- "I don’t find you annoying. You're just straightforward, and I was serious when I said I'm going to miss you. No one cares about me like you do. By the way, I hope I can write to you during the holidays..."
- "We'll see if I reply," she teases me.
A ringtone interrupts our conversation. I frown as I see an incoming call from my best friend. I was about to call her, but it's surprising that she's calling since we weren’t supposed to talk tonight.
- "Excuse me. I have to take this."
- "Go ahead, you’ve got fifteen minutes left," she reminds me.
I nod, pressing the green button and bringing the phone to my ear. With my other hand, I close my laptop, which is now useless.
- "Hey Maps, I was just about to call you."
- "Hey bonita," she replies in a small voice.
- "Oh! What’s wrong?"
- "Nothing, I just wanted to hear your voice. I miss you."
- "Don’t lie to me. I know you."
- "There’s nothing wrong."
- "Okay... if you say so..."
I squint as I see Lucy smiling. I nod to silently ask her what’s going on. In response, she just smiles wider.
- "What?" I say at the same time Mapi sighs.
- "Huh?"
- "Sorry, I wasn’t talking to you," I say, which makes Lucy laugh.
- "Are you with someone?"
- "Yeah... with Bronze. She’s playing babysitter."
- "Oh, I’ll let you go then."
- "No!" I quickly respond. "It’s not like she can hear you. Tell me what’s wrong. I know something’s up. I can feel it."
There’s a moment of hesitation where she stays silent. She takes a long breath. This is starting to worry me. Lucy seems to understand the situation from the way she looks at me. I suddenly sit up straight when Mapi bursts into uncontrollable sobs. If she’s crying, then something is really wrong. The only other time I’ve seen her cry was when I told her it was over between us.
- "Hey, Maps... What’s going on?" I say softly, not wanting to upset her.
- "Ana," she says. "She dumped me, Ona... Ana dumped me," she repeats desperately.
I part my lips in surprise. I didn’t see that coming... I regret not being by her side right now. Her sobs get louder, and there’s nothing I can do to calm her down. I can’t believe they’re no longer together. I really thought their relationship would last based on how she talked about her. I never really knew how she felt after I left, but hearing her now, I don’t even want to know. I run my hand over my face, trying to keep my composure.
- "Maps, I- It’s going to be okay, alright? I’m coming home tomorrow. I’ll be in Barcelona around eleven PM. You can come with Hector, or you can wait for me at home, okay?"
- "I really thought she was the one, Ona. I finally managed to have a serious relationship again, and she dumped me like trash. Damn it!"
I close my eyes, hearing the loud noise she’s making on the other end. I don’t know what she’s doing, but it doesn’t sound good.
- "Mapi..."
- "What’s going on?" Lucy asks me.
I sigh, covering the phone’s microphone to explain the situation to her. Lucy asks for my phone. I hesitate for a moment before giving it to her.
- "Hey Mapi, it’s Bronze."
I hate myself for doing this, but Lucy is definitely better at handling these situations than I am. I tend to be clumsy with my words and never know what to say. Unlike me, Lucy knows how to handle things. She does it with me, and now she’s doing it with Mapi. She’s calming her anger and reassuring her. It feels like I’m listening to her talk to me when I need her support. Lucy’s words seem to have the desired effect because I can’t hear Mapi yelling from where I’m sitting anymore. She continues talking to her before handing the phone back to me.
- "She wants to talk to you."
I quickly take the phone where I can already hear my best friend calling me.
- "Yeah, it’s me," I reply.
It seems like her crisis has passed. She’s still sniffling a bit, but she’s not crying anymore.
- "I understand why you think she’s so great."
- "I never used those words," I chuckle lightly to ease the situation. "But you’re right."
- "You don’t have to say it. It’s obvious when you talk about her."
- "Let’s not talk about that now. Are you going to be okay?"
- "Hmm," she sighs. "I have to be. I have one of my most important exams tomorrow. I just needed to hear your voice... I’ll come to the airport tomorrow. I want to see you as soon as possible."
- "Alright. I’ll tell Hector to pick you up then."
I see Lucy tapping her watch. She gave me thirty minutes, and I guess they’ve passed.
- "Are you going to stay over?"
- "Of course, if you don’t mind. I think I’ll need your arms, if it’s not too much to ask."
- "Of course not. Go rest now. Bronze wants me to hang up."
- "Bossy, huh?" she giggles slightly, which reassures me about her state. "I thought curfew was at ten PM? It’s only quarter past nine where you are, right?"
- "It’s complicated. I’ll explain when I get back."
- "Don’t tell me you’re having insomnia again?" she questions. "I thought it was over since you hadn’t mentioned it."
- "I was, but not for the reasons you think."
- "Hmm..." she replies skeptically.
Now’s not the time to talk about my problems, especially not in front of Lucy. For now, she’s the one who needs reassurance. I don’t want her to start feeling sorry for herself like I did.
- "I’ll see you tomorrow. Sleep well, Maps."
- "Goodnight, Onita. Thank you, and thank your supervisor too."
- "I was planning to. Kiss."
I hang up and place my phone on the nightstand. As for my laptop, I put it on the floor, too lazy to get up and put it in the cupboard.
- "Thanks... I didn’t know how to handle that."
- "It’s no big deal."
I don’t have time to reply as the door opens, revealing Alexia. She’s no longer surprised by Lucy’s regular presence.
- "I’m back," she says before grabbing pajamas from her closet. "Are we calling Mapi again?"
- "I just talked to her on the phone. I didn’t have time to ask her about New Year’s."
- "You can chat tomorrow morning. It’s time to sleep now, Ona," Lucy announces to me.
- "I’ll go take my shower then," Ale says. "Goodnight."
- "Goodnight," I reply.
I lie down in bed, looking at Lucy. I think I’m hallucinating when she takes my laptop and phone.
- "Don’t tell me you’re taking those with you?"
- "Yes. I should have thought of this earlier. Have you used them this week?"
- "Of course not," I groan. "You’ve checked on me every day!"
- "Hmm. Come on, I was serious. It’s time to sleep."
- "Are you planning to stay?" I’m surprised.
- "Yes. I want to make sure you sleep."
- "That’s ridiculous," I mutter. "You’re getting too serious about this."
- "Go to sleep."
I roll my eyes and eventually turn my back to her, wrapping myself in the blanket. The good thing is that my headache has finally gone. The bad thing is that Lucy’s presence is unsettling, even when I close my eyes. Sleeping is impossible. Especially with all the noise I hear when Alexia comes back into the room. She seems to be trying not to make any noise, but it’s not enough. I want to complain, but Lucy beats me to it by asking Ale to go to bed. A few minutes later, the light goes out, plunging us all into darkness. I roll over to the other side now that it’s dark and I can’t see Lucy watching me. I know she’s still there; otherwise, I would have heard the sound of the chair. Time passes, and I can make out Alexia’s steady breathing. My mind is too agitated, and it’s starting to annoy me. I sigh heavily, admitting defeat.
- "I can’t sleep," I mutter, rubbing my eye.
- "And then you wonder why I’m still here," she jokes.
- "It’s not funny," I sigh, sitting up.
- "Stay in bed. Curfew has passed."
- "Am I allowed to go to the bathroom?"
She sighs but lets me go. I make sure not to take too long so she doesn’t get impatient. I wash my hands before returning to bed under her watchful eyes.
- "What are you going to do during your vacation?" I murmur.
- "Talking won’t help you fall asleep," she says, annoyed.
- "It might help."
- "No, it just distracts you. We’ll have plenty of time to talk when I take you home tomorrow."
- "You’re taking me to the airport?"
- "Yes, Ona."
- "Cool. I prefer it when it’s you."
- "Don’t get any ideas. It’s just because I’m leaving at the same time as you."
- "Hmm."
I smile even though she can’t see it. Even if it’s the truth, I don’t care about the reasons. I just focus on the fact that she’s the one taking me home, even though she doesn’t have to. I understand now why she wanted to handle my departure reservations. I thought it was to take the burden off me.
- "Thanks," I say.
- "Okay, that’s enough. You’re starting to annoy me by being so awake. If you talk again, I’m really going to make you run laps. Am I clear!?"
- "Oh, come on, calm down," I grumble. "I’ll sleep."
- "I hope so. Goodnight."
- "Goodnight..."
I smile as I finally turn my back to her. I try now to clear my head and pretend she’s not there. This last solution seems to work this time because I finally feel myself drifting off.

stars between us ch.2 : h.c
Tumblr media
Hey you guys!! here's chapter two! I'll do everything I can to have chapter three tomorrow. I'm looking to have 8-9 chapters total of this series. COMMENT on this post if you'd like to be added to this taglist.
Summary: You and Hazel spend the first night of the camping trip together
Contains: fluff, hand-holding, one-bed trope, teasing friends, slight angst, hazel talking about the pep rally, hazel talking abt toxic friends, awkward!hazel, nerd!reader
“So, that leaves you and Hazel,” Isabel had pointed out.
You and Hazel look at each other and smile. Of course you two were fine with sharing a bed. You two got along well anyway. The two of you leave your things on the bed and then go outside to a nearby picnic table. It wasn’t too late in the day, as there was still light outside. The sky was only now just getting darker. The two of you begin to continue your conversation from the bus, picking up exactly where you left off.
“Okay,” you say, “enough about me. Where in the actual universe are you getting bombs?”
“Where else? You really think I’m going to like some deep, dark alleyway to find supplies? I usually just go to Home Depot and grab my supplies.”
“Really?” you ask surprisedly, raising an eyebrow.
“I’m not joking. I’ll take you one day if you’d like.”
“Wow Hazel, stringing your new friend into your bomb-making endeavors.” To this comment, Hazel giggles and plays with the rings on her fingers. She looked absolutely adorable doing this.
“I’d never let you get in trouble for it though,” Hazel adds quickly, “I don’t like throwing people under the bus.”
“Sure you don’t,” you quip teasingly, “If you don’t, then what was that with PJ during the last pep rally?”
“Now that’s a different story. PJ, umm, made me feel, unloved? The fight club has been a safe space for me during my mom’s midlife crisis. I guess when PJ kind of summed up for me that I had no friends, and, um, had a skank as a mom, I wanted to defend myself. Also, they said I was fighting PJ.”
“Well, you have me, so you have friends. And uh, I don’t know about the mom stuff, but she definitely didn’t raise a skank, so that must say something.” Hazel smiles, glad that you at least understood her. She holds your hands, which had been resting on the table.
“I’m really glad we’ve started getting to know each other. It’s nice to talk with someone who’s like me in some ways.”
“Yeah. Even though I’m friends with like Isabel and Brittany and those people, I feel like they don’t understand. Like half of those people don’t even read. Like, the school took away the books and they just don’t care.” Hazel looks at you as you continue rambling, a concentrated, attentive look in her eyes. She seems dazed almost.
“Hazel?”
“Yeah?” she says, shaking out of her daze.
“You good? It seemed like you phased out for a moment.”
“No, I’m just tired. I didn’t sleep well yesterday.” You look up at the sky, which has gone basically dark.
“Should we go sleep?”
“Oh, we don’t have to. We can keep talking if you want.”
“No no, I’m tired too. Plus, we have a long day tomorrow doing the trash and stuff.”
“Okay! As long as you’re okay with it. I don’t want to force you to do something just because I am.”
“You’re not. Don’t worry about it, Haze.” You hold out your arm, and she links it in yours. The two of you laugh and talk your whole way back to the cabin. She sees PJ and Josie looking at her with teasing looks, lips puckered up. She quickly turns her head away to see you curled up on the corner of the bed, book in hand. It’s an astronomy book about constellations and the stories behind them.
Hazel looks at you as she climbs into bed.
“Whatcha reading?”
“Oh, just a book about the stories between different constellations.”
“OH! We didn’t get to look at the stars like we said.”
“Whatever. We’re both tired, and I’m sure we’ll have even more fun tomorrow doing so. I bet since we’ll spend the whole day together, we’re going to have a great time.”
“Don’t let me forget tomorrow. I’ll feel horrible if you don’t get to look at the stars at least once before the trip is over.”
“Don’t worry Haze, I won’t.” Hazel’s cheeks turn pink at the nickname, but she brushes it off and lies down. PJ and Josie ask everyone if it’s okay to turn off the lights, making you close your book and lie down as well. You assume that Brittany and Isabel are off with the other cheerleaders and that they’ll come back soon. You feel Hazel shudder when the lights turn off in the cabin.
“Hey, Haze, what’s wrong?” you whisper, turning to her under the covers.
“Nothing. Um, it’s just that I, um, kind of, always use a night light? I don’t like the pitch black.”
“Is there anything I can do to help?”
“I don’t know.” Hazel turns around to face you. Just then, your hands bump under the covers. You don’t know what overcomes you, but you decide to hold Hazel’s hand.
“Is that okay?” you ask. You hear Hazel’s breathing slow down to its relaxed pace.
“Yeah. Much better. Are YOU okay with that though?” she asks, concerned that maybe you would feel weird holding her hand.
“No, of course not. I want you to sleep well.” You two are facing each other in the bed, only barely able to see the traces of each other’s face.
“As long as you’re okay with it, I am too.”
“Goodnight Haze.” The two of you fall asleep facing each other, and holding hands, and wake up like that the next morning.

gonna dive into shouta’s backstory before i introduce the mc.
for starters, he adopted his daughter (her name is kyoko in my drafts) when she was a few months old (her mom was murdered and her dad was on his way to serving a life sentence).
kyoko inherited a cat mutation quirk from her mom (the cuteness aggression somewhat influenced the hastily adoption) and a teleportation quirk from her father. at the ripe age of four, she’s shown up to shouta’s classroom more times than he’d like.
the first time she asked abt her mama, shouta told her she went to go be with the stars.
she a little on the smaller side (preemie baby) and she’s a curious little sweetheart.
she loves coloring and going outside.
she loves her uncle zashi and aunt nemi.
she loves her big brother hito and her best friend kacchan.
and don’t even get me started on her papa, she looks at him like he hung the stars just for her.
insert mc (my oc’s name is suki). she’s the youngest of four. she came along much later so the rest of her family feels somewhat burdened by her.
thankfully her adolescence wasn’t too terrible with her cousin, emi fukukado (✨for the plot ✨), by her side.
suki’s quirk, heal, heals flesh wounds and broken bones. as long as she’s holding a conversation with the injured person, their wounds should heal quite nicely.
after realizing she couldn’t legally use her quirk to help people, suki enrolled in the hero course of a small high school to get her hero license before going to med school.
shouta and suki meet during a night shift at the hospital just a few weeks before the Entrance Exam. he’s injured and frantic and he doesn’t wanna talk, he wants to get out this damn bed and go home.
who is suki to stop him?
(just kidding she threatened to sedate him if he didn’t calm down)
they see each other again at a cat café. suki is reading a new book when shouta walks in with kyoko im his arms. besides a half assed apology from shouta, they don’t interact much.
the next time they see each other is after the USJ incident. shouta’s cooperative and suki does what she can, but the damage is so extensive that shouta still ends up in a full body cast.
at some point after the UA Sports Festival, the two begin spending time together that doesn’t have to do with shouta being hurt.
they don’t really cross the line separating friendship from romance until after he returns from the Forest Training Camp. shouta is set to speak at a press conference and - even though he’s really expressing it - he’s on edge. they’re not together but they are.
shortly after his class takes their Provisional Hero License Exams, shouta meets suki’s cousin at her apartment. imagine his surprise (and anguish) when he sees emi sitting at the dinner table.
shouts ghosts suki for a bit after the Shie Hassaikai raid, but she’s sure his reasoning is good enough. about a week later, he shows up at her apartment unannounced and tells her everything that transpired. her breaks for sir nighteye, but it shatters for eri.
shortly after the UA School Festival, suki meets shouta’s closest friends, nemuri kayama and hizashi yamada. that’s a story for another time, though.
shouta broaches the idea of introducing suki to his girls. they suggest inviting her over for christmas. when shouta asks about it, suki immediately bombards him with questions about the dress code and what to get the girls for christmas.
back at home with kyoko and eri, shouta asks about what they want for the upcoming holiday. eri isn’t sure what she wants (she feels bad about asking for stuff). kyoko, though? the one thing she wants is a mommy.
shouta tells his girlfriend suki to get them crafting supplies.
christmas day rolls around. shouta drinks a cup of coffee in the short lived silence before kyoko’s small voice rang out.
“wake up, eri née-chan! it’s christmas! gotta open your presents!”
suki arrives later than anticipated.
eri looks up from the couch and kyoko comes around the corner when she gets there. both are expecting to meet papa’s new friend. however, “new friend” goes completely out the window when kyoko sees the pretty woman taking her shoes off at the door looking just like-
“A MOMMY!”
eri is confused and the color drains straight from shouta’s face.
it only takes a few days for the girls to form a bond with suki (kyoko develops really bad separation anxiety) and by the time the new year comes around, shouta officially has a girlfriend.
suki knows next to nothing about the Paranormal Liberation War, so when one of her coworkers finds her in the break room and tells her about what they heard over the radio, her heart drops. not even an hour later are people (heroes, students, and civilians alike) being rushed in the hospital.
most of the people needing suki’s help are civilians that either got caught in the wreckage or hurt themselves while trying to get away from said wreckage. though she knows it was wishful thinking, suki feels herself getting worked up every time she pulls back a curtain or opens a door and sees someone who isn’t her lover waiting for her.
it’s a few days later that she’s finally able to track down shouta. she’s relieved knowing he’s not in someone’s morgue, but she feels like crying seeing him sat in the hospital bed, bandages wrapped around his face and the bedsheet flat below his right knee.
suki takes it upon herself to tell the girls about aunt nemi. though her heart aches from the loss of her (albeit new) friend, she doesn’t want hizashi and shouta to have to deal with the grief of two little girls on top of their own.
upon shouta’s request, suki moves into the small apartment while he’s still in the hospital. he claims it’s because he doesn’t want his cats to starve, but suki’s almost positive it’s for something else.
kyoko and eri take her around campus and she ends up meeting shouta’s class and and shinsou.
“and mommy, this is my hito onii-chan! papa says he’s not really my onii-chan, but onii-chan says it’s okay! does that mean you’re gonna be onii-chan’s mommy too?”
and that’s how the class (or those who weren’t already aware) found out about their sensei’s relationship.
a bond is quickly formed between suki and the students, especially since some of them are still vulnerable after midnight-sensei’s death.
everyone is on edge leading up to the Final War. with work at the hospital and acting as a makeshift counselor, suki tries to spends as much time with shouta and their his girls as she can.
during the fight, suki is tucked away with the heroes, kyoko sat on her hip and eri stuck to her leg. there’s so much going on, what with (in no particular order) the todoroki family showdown, shouta and hizashi disappearing from the playing field, all might and stain teaming up, and all the students putting their lives on the line.
after what feels like an eternity, there’s an eerie calm before suki gives both little girls kisses on their foreheads and rushes out to help in whatever way she can.
when suki and shouta reunite, she’s too busy fussing over him to notice him looking at her with the softest look he could pull off.
“shouta! oh my god, are you okay? let me look at you. you guys just - turn your head, please - just disappeared! i’m so glad - follow my finger please - so glad you guys are- hey! you aren’t paying attention to anything i’m saying to you right now! you realize- wait you didn’t hit your head, did you? can you hear what i’m saying right now?”
a beat and then-
“i love you so damn much.”
hizashi turns away just in time for shouta to grab suki by the waist and pull her in for a kiss.
✦ Epilogue Arc ✦
eight years later, shouta is still teaching at ua high. suki’s making her way up the charts at the hospital.
shouta’s old students have a tendency to seak her out specifically whenever they show up injured. they fully expect the lecture they get every time.
“eijirou, i keep telling you, you can’t give everyone the benefit of the doubt!”
“katsuki, you can not talk to people that way! that’s how you end up in situations like this!”
“denki! how did you even-!”
she’ll claim she doesn’t have a favorite but everyone knows it’s-
“shoto what happened to you? oh, you poor thing, come here so i can get that taken care of.”
shortly after their wedding, shouta and suki moved their family out of the small apartment on campus and into a comfortable sized house not too far from their respective places of work.
hitoshi tries to come by at least once a week for dinner per kyoko’s request. the young man confides in his mentor how he’d come over had the young girl never asked in the first place.
“it’s like a second home.”
shouta keeps it to himself.
eri thrives as a ua hero course student. she comes home everyday and tells her mom about how her day went.
“OH! and mama! i had practice against one of my classmates! she’s really big, and she beat me, but i think i’ll get her next time!”
kyoko is planning to follow in her big sister’s footsteps and go to ua after middle school.
“mommy, i can’t wait to go to ua! i’m so excited, i’m gonna explode!”
suki has a tendency to bring shouta lunch on her off days.
“shouta, there you are! you’re never where you’re supposed to be!”
“i’m sorry, my love. i had to get something taken care of. hey, where are-”
two small toddlers are always a few steps behind her.
“PAPA!”
eiji, loud and rambunctious, comes around the corner at full speed and slams into shouta’s left leg. his older brother, kei, much more quiet and restrained, walks into the room and grabs the shouta’s right pants leg.
twenty years prior, shouta never would have thought he’d have happiness in the form of a loving wife and four (five) beautiful children. now though, he thanks anyone out there that he does.

5 - The Birthday Surprise
Tumblr media
Part 6
It’s About Time
Mr. Cooper parked the truck and let me and Georgie get out at the tire shop. Georgie had helped fix a part in his truck and now he had started working there. I dropped my backpack on the nearest work table and hoisted myself up to sit down to watch. “So you’re saying he's got a tire gift?”
“Yes ma'am. Just watch.” Hershel nodded standing by me.
George Sr entered the tire shop and his neighbor handed him a beer. “Let’s see what you can do.”
“Okay.” Georgie nodded, slipping on some overalls and picking up one of the torn tires and laying it down on the table across from me. He basically laid on the tire rubbing his hands over the surfaces whispering, until he lifted his finger off a certain spot. “Tell me where it hurts baby…got ya.”
“Did you actually find it?” Jumping off the table I parted my mouth open, surprised.
Georgie lifted his finger off the spot a few more times showing me. “Yep.”
“That’s incredible.” I couldn't believe it that he made it look so easy.
George Sr looks at his neighbor. “I've got goosebumps.”
“I told ya he's got the gift.” Hershel nodded, taking a drink of his beer. “So are we all good with him still working here?”
George Sr finished his beer. “Yeah. His mom just said if his grades slip then he can't anymore.”
“Would you want to work with me too?” Georgie looks in my direction with such excitement.
I paused in thought. “Well that'd be up to Hershel. Plus I was thinking of working at this sporting goods store. Dales I think it's called.”
“There's an offer there if you change your mind.” Hershel said throwing the empty beer bottles in the trash can.
Georgie shifts his eyes to the wall cloak. “Oh hey it's almost time. Dad, we better go.”
“Go where?” I ask my best friend.
Georgie takes my hand in his dragging me back to the truck with his father thanking the man. “You'll see when we get there.” The three of us climbed in the truck and drove out almost to the edge of the town line. There was this area just past the Medford town sign that we pulled into.
“Georgie, why are we here?” I asked him after he had helped me out of the truck.
We had snuck out there with a few of our friends the year before we were going into high school. It had become our personal camp area, especially since Sheldon didn't care for the outdoors. “You'll see. Come on.” He tugged me by the hand around the corner and down a small dirt trail until we came to a clearing of trees and I saw our friend group all waiting for us.
Ryker, Marlowe, Hannah and Ashley all cheered. “Happy birthday.”
“Georgie!” I throw my arms around his neck hugging him as a big thank you.
He hugs me back looking at his dad who brought in our bags from the truck. “I'll pick you all up tomorrow morning. Happy birthday Y/n.”
“Thanks, Mr. Cooper.” I smiled and he left in his truck leaving us teenagers by ourselves.
Hannah came over removing me from Georgie’s grasp and over to the cooler’s they had set up by some bag lawn chairs. “I was able to snag some stuff without my dad finding out. Happy birthday.” She hands me a wine cooler.
“Thanks, Hannah. Don’t go getting arrested now.” Her father was the local police officer of our town so we would be in deep trouble if he found out.
Ashley nudged my arm coming over to us. “Stop worrying. Hannah and I are great liars.” Ashley and I had first met in Kindergarten after she wanted to play legos with me and we have been close ever since. Not as much as me and Georgie but pretty close.
Taking a drink from the bottle Hannah peaked her head over my shoulder where the boys had gone over on their own to talk like we had done. “What do ya think they’re talking about?”
“Football.” I answered her.
Ashley added on. “Annoyed, we are already gossiping over here.”
“I’ve got one better. Our bros are interrogating Georgie to finally ask the birthday girl out.” Hannah did a thumbs down and made a wrong answer buzzing sound.
Ashley’s face lit up. “Oooh yes.”
“Are you two still on that fairytale concept we joked about in fifth grade.” I scolded them feeling my face begin to turn red so I took a longer drink.
Hannah aims her wine cooler bottle at me. “It’s not a joke, Y/n. You and Georgie are falling all over each other making it so obvious.”
“No we are not.” I fought back.
Ashley finished her drink, sending me a smirk. “You totally are.”
“I don't know what you are talking about.” I denied what my friends were saying.
Hannah taunts me. “What if I told you that he was dating Veronica and didn't tell you?”
“He wouldn't dare!” Stomping my feet on the ground my voice raised in anger.
Hannah waved her fingers in my face. “That proves it.”
“You totally like him!” Hannah and Ashley squealed at the top of their lungs, jumping around me in a circle.
Ryker came over to the three of us, Georgie and Marlowe following suit in his steps. “So birthday girl, you down for some football?”
“I'm a Texas girl. What kind of question is that? Of course I'm down. After drinks and pizza though, deal.”
Ryker stuck out his fist and I bumped mine with his. “Deal.”
Our group of six got settled on some lawn chairs around a fire that Marlowe got started since his parents had taught him the most about wilderness survival.
Leaning back in my chair I opened another drink Georgie was sitting beside me and we were just enjoying the sounds of nature. I glance over to him with the corner of my eye noticing that he was staring at me and I just now had noticed he had been. “What ya looking at me for, Cooper?”
“I got ya something for your birthday.” He reached inside his jacket pocket, pulling out something.
I trailed off until he held it up in the firelight. “Georgie, you didn’t have to get me anything. The surprise was enough - oh wow it's beautiful.” He turned out to be holding up a necklace that was a Locket which had a picture of us when we were really little all hugging up on each other.
Georgie nervously smiled. “So you like it?”
“I love it. Thank you.” I got up from my chair flinging my arms around his neck hugging him.
He wrapped his arms around my waist tugging me down to sit on his lap. We held onto the other for a few minutes until he mumbled into my hair and I drew back to look him in the face. “Happy birthday, darling.” Biting my lip I soon realized that we were extremely physical close to each other, which normally wouldn’t have been a problem if we weren’t in a very romantic setting sitting together around the fire and the rest of our friends were over by the coolers with drinks and snacks away from the burning fire.
“Georgie…” I mumbled his name slowly leaning down and he to my surprise leaned up looking like he was going to kiss me.
But the moment was short lived when Marlowe came running over to us. “Hey, you guys ready to play footbal”
“Yeah sure.” Georgie and I separated and I scrambled off his lap, catching sight of us both blushing. Yet I brushed it off going over to hang out with our friends with the idea still in the back of my mind that I almost kissed my best friend.
Comments really appreciated ❤️

The Power of Love
Tumblr media
Eli Hale x Fem!Reader
Summary: This fic is inspired by this scene from 'Back to The Future'
youtube
To follow along, begin the video at 3 minutes and 35 seconds.
You and Eli have been dating for a couple of months now. After school, Eli had Lacrosse tryouts for him to get on first line, but the coach said he was too soft. So now, you and him are walking on the sidewalk to the bench you always sit at together after school every day.
"Too soft? I can't believe it. I'm never gonna get the chance to play on the field." Eli says in annoyance.
"Eli, one rejection isn't the end of the world." You replied, glancing at him as you both continued walking.
"Nah, I just don't think I'm cut out to play Lacrosse." Eli shrugged it off like it was no big deal to him, but you could see it was a big deal to him. He just didn't want to tell you.
"But you're good, Eli, you're really good. And this gameplay of yours is great. You've gotta give it to the team." You encouraged as you continued, "It's like Doc's always saying,"
Eli cut you off, "Yeah, I know, I know. If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything." He turned his head to look at two girls passing by. You gently turned his head back towards you as you said,
"That's good advice, Eli." teasing him a little with a smile on your face.
"Alright, okay, Y/N, what-what if I give them the gameplay and they don't like it? I mean, what if they say it's not good? What if they say, 'That's dumb, it won't help us win'? I mean, I just don't think I can take that kind of rejection." Eli rants, sighing as he leans against the bench while you fix your shoelace. He then continued.
"What the hell, I'm starting to sound like Scott."
"Oh, come on, he's not that bad." You state with a soft chuckle as you smile at him. "At least he's letting you skip werewolf lessons tomorrow night." You added. He grinned at you as he pulled you by your hand to stand on the bench with him, saying,
"It's gonna be great, taking the Jeep up to the lake, throwing some sleeping bags in the back, lying out underneath the stars." his hand around your waist as he pulled you down to sit next to him.
You were blushing as you moved his hand away gently, "Stop it."
"What?" He chuckled innocently, smiling at you.
"Does Allison know? About tomorrow night?" You asked, knowing full well what the answer was.
"No, she thinks I'm going camping with the guys." He laughed. "Well, look, Y/N, she'll freak out if she knew I was going with you and I'd get the standard lecture of how she never did this stuff with Scott when they were our age. I mean, look, I think the woman was born a nun."
"She's just trying to keep you respectable, especially now that your dad's gone and she and Scott are looking after you." You state, gently touching his chin, letting go after a couple of seconds.
Eli then put his arm around your shoulder, "Well, she's not doing a very good job." He smirked.
"Terrible." You grinned, leaning in to kiss him as you closed your eyes. As you were about to kiss, you got interrupted by the horn of a car. You pulled away from Eli, sighing,
"That's my dad."
"Right." He mumbled.
"I gotta go." You state, getting off the bench.
"I'll call you tonight, babe," Eli states.
"I'll be at my grandma's. Here, let me give you the number." You explained, writing down the number on a piece of paper you had and an 'I love you' sentence at the top, giving it to Eli.
"Bye." You smiled at Eli as you kissed his lips gently before pulling away and walking to your dad's car.
He couldn't wait for tomorrow night.

GUESS WHO LOST THE REQUEST YET AGAIN? LUCKILY I SS THEM
Requested!!
Percy X Reader Fluff!!!
My head was pounding. It was a long week with all the tests and trying to get accepted into colleges. And let me tell you, getting into college with ADHD and dyslexia is NOT for the weak.
I had stupid ELA homework. I was practically pulling out my hair. I hated ELA class; it was the WORST. I sucked at spelling, I couldn’t read. I tried so hard, but the letters would spin, do 180s, and fly off the page. I could not focus at all. I was debating burning the paper with my fire, but decided against it when I heard a buzz from my side.
My face lit up when I saw my boyfriend texted me. I threw down my pencil and opened his message. “Hey Y/n, wanna go to the new aquarima that opened?” I couldn’t help but laugh at his misspelling of aquarium, but I knew what he meant. “Yeah, I would love to?”
Nothing could cheer me up faster than my boyfriend, and even more so when it's a date. “Awesome! See you then?” “Sure, what day and time?” “Today, 1 hour?” “Wait, today?” “Yeah?” “I’m doing homework though.” “You’ll probably give up soon enough.” “Excuse me?” “See you in an hour, princess.” I couldn’t help but scoff. “Wow…” I said out loud to nobody and got up to get ready for my date. I grabbed cute yet comfortable clothes and went to take a shower, smiling that dork knew how to cheer me up anytime.
I did my hair and put on my shoes when I heard knocking at my door. I practically ran to the door and smiled when I saw the handsome boy behind it. “Hello, princess,” he gave a genuine smile. “You look amazing.”
“I’m not even dressed up?”
“You still look amazing,” he smiled and leaned down to my lips, giving me a kiss with his soft lips that had a hint of sweetness, probably from cherry coke, his all-time favorite drink.
“Are you ready to go?”
“Yeah, let me grab my keys.” I grabbed my keys and locked the door. “The aquarium is pretty big. There is a food court there too,” I mentioned as we walked towards the car.
He opened my door, smiling. “Ladies first.” Before jogging to his door, he was always going the extra mile for me. It was crazy. He held doors, made me breakfast in bed, all the cute stuff. In all honesty, I don’t know how or why I got so lucky to have him in my life, but he was genuinely one of the few things I am grateful for.
The drive there was normal. We talked about the aquarium, our schools, our home life, any crazy stuff we found on the internet. We tried to keep our other lives separate from our normal lives as much as possible, and we did a pretty good job at avoiding it most of the time.
“You know Annabeth wants to get back in touch with me,” he said at one point.
“Really?” I couldn’t help but chuckle. “As friends or does she still have a crush on you?”
“Not sure. I told her I was taken, but she seemed panicked, like something was wrong at camp.”
“We should just leave it be for now. We can check up on camp tomorrow. We are on a date tonight.”
“Right, sorry, love,” Percy sighed, rubbing my thigh.
He pulled into the parking lot and smiled softly. “We made it alive?”
“I couldn’t tell?”
“Shut it,” he laughed before jogging over to open my door.
“You know I can open my doors, right?”
“I’m just making sure you don’t slam my car doors,” he teased.
“Wow,” I nudged him and laughed. “Let's go, seaweed head.”
“Of course,” he grinned and held open the door of the aquarium entrance. It was beautiful inside. The rugs were dark blue, the walls were light blue, and all types of fishes were painted over the walls.
“Woah, that fish is pretty,” I pointed over to one of the painted fishes on the wall.
“In case you couldn’t tell, my dear Y/n, that's a painted fish, not a real one.”
“I’m not dumb!” He smiled and walked over to the cashier, who was a sweet older man in his 60s.
“Two tickets, please,” Percy requested.
“Of course, that's 28 dollars,” the cashier replied.
“Thank you,” Percy handed him the money and handed me my ticket.
“So, you like older men now?” I teased.
“All I said was thank you!” He pouted.
“Yea— Woah, that's a big shark!?” I dragged Percy along to one of the shark tanks.
“Yeah, they are meant to be big.”
“Quiet,” I rolled my eyes at his sassiness. “What would happen if you asked it to do a backflip?”
“Why would I ask it—”
“I mean, you can talk to animals, can’t you?”
“No.”
“Wow, you are boring then.”
“Oh, is that so? And what can you do, princess? Make a sword? And heat up your hands?”
“Yeah, I can. And what can you do? Fall 600 feet into an ocean?”
“Actually, yes, I can.”
“Try hard.”
“Always,” he grinned and kissed my cheek.
“Look at that one right there, it's pretty like you.”
“So you're saying I look like a fish?”
“You always have something to say, don't you?”
“Yes, I do.” I smiled and kissed his cheek.

Doing this again because I really need it today.
If I make it to tomorrow, I’ll get to do the skincare that makes me all shiny and pretty.
If I make it to tomorrow, and complete the day, I’ll have one day of camp left this week.
If I make it to tomorrow, I’m one day closer to going back to school shopping for new clothes and a backpack and stuff.
If I make it to tomorrow, my mom will bring my dog with her to pick me up from school.
If I make it through tomorrow, I’m one day closer to starting school, which I’m actually excited about.
If I make it to tomorrow, I’ll get to say ‘sparkle off forget who you are’ and giggle at it.
If I make it to tomorrow, I get to spend my morning the way I want to, I’ll have time to rehearse and still relax.
If I make it to through tomorrow, I’ll have made it another day through tboy summer. :)

I Answer The Would You Rather Questions From TD2023 Episode 17
(IK what you're gonna say about the title, idc, I'm calling it one long season because I feel like it)
youtube
Here's the video I'm basing this off of in case you're curious.
Would You Rather...
A) Camp in a Graveyard for a month
B) Go without toilet paper for a week
I WANT to say I wouldn't be scared cause zombies aren't real, BUT I'd be lying cause in real life, I'm anxious like no tomorrow. Plus at least with the other it's a lesser timespan.
B
(I relate to Damien so hard with this one.)
Would You Rather...
A) Have to wear clown makeup for a year
B) Have your direct messages made public
I don't actually DM that much, most you'd find are a bunch of sex bots that I blocked immediately, and other than that it's really just me answering people's questions about media. So I can't really say I'd lose much.
But honestly, I think clown makeup is actually pretty fun. Didn't say I wouldn't get to design the makeup myself. I'd just be cosplaying as Pomni, and I think I'd be okay with that cause Pomni is adorable.
A ; For the fun of it
Would You Rather...
A) Lose the passwords to all your devices everyday
B) Spend the entire next school year in a hot dog costume
Jokes on you Chris, I'm not in school anymore.
B
I SUCK at passwords anyway. So, NO THANKS.
Would You Rather...
A) Be Hockey Superstar *Whatever he said*
B) Be the puck that scored the game winning goal in the 1980 cup finals
One, I am not a sports person let alone a hockey person
Two, I was not alive in the 1980s!
I'd go with B cause I don't want to 'be other people'. I do that in fiction already and with my cynical online persona. I don't do that in real life.
Would You Rather...
A) Slide naked down a ski hill
B) Spend a day in a wave pool that uses bark instead of water
I hate the cold. So let alone being naked, it would suck.
But swimming in VOMIT?!
NO THANKS
A
Would You Rather...
A) Popcorn that tastes like poop
B) Poop that tastes like popcorn
NEITHER.
Straight up. NEITHER.
I hate both of these so much. I do not understand how Zee can possibly pick one without hesitation. (Then again, it is Zee, so...)
I am SUCH a sensitive eater. I will vomit no doubt at both of these.
I guess technically one isn't s**t, it's just the flavor sucks, so... A?
But if there was an option to pick C, I'd do it.
Screw the rules of this challenge. make it a trick question and have the person fall no matter what. TROLL, Chris. Why wasn't there a troll like that in the challenge? I'm surprised.
Would You Rather...
A) Take truth serum and be questioned by Chef
B) Only be able to eat Chef's cooking for a whole year
Again, sensitive eater over here.
DEFINITELY A.
Would You Rather...
A) Eat a bowl of toenail clippings
B) Not shower for a month
I'm actually tolerant to nail clippings, but AGAIN...
B
He said SHOWER, he said nothing about baths, swimming, deodorant, washing your hands and face, etc. So YEAH, it's actually not that bad if you think about it.
Would You Rather...
A) Eat 200 Lemons
B) Wrestle your best friend's grandpa
WHY ARE THERE SO MANY CHOICES THAT INVOLVE EATING SOMETHING?!
I'm a softie, so I'd lose, BUT...
My best friend in particular actually hates her grandparents. So she'd love me if I wrestled them, even if I'd lose.
B
Would You Rather...
A) Eat pudding directly from a gorilla's armpit
B) Jump from a plane with a parachute packed by your ex
In the episode, they make this sound worse than it actually is.
Or maybe that's just me because I actually DON'T HAVE AN EX
(At the time I am posting this)
HA! GOTCHA!
B
Even if I were to break up with my partner just for the sake of doing this, (then get back with her afterwards) she is very skilled with this sort of stuff, has made several crafts like this, and I trust her completely.
Usually I'd hate falling, or anything that involves a vertical motion like that, BUT there's a parachute so it wouldn't be that bad.
And at this point, you'd know I'd do basically anything to get out of eating nasty stuff. If my choices are something to go off of my character.
Would You Rather...
A) Fight one bear
B) Fight 100 Rabid Kittens
I'd lose no matter what.
I am a HUGE cat person, so at least I'd be used to the kitten's scratching and biting. And maybe I'd tame them rather than fight them. That's my method of fighting.
Bear? I'd DIE.
B
(Also i love Wayne and Raj here. They're so cringe in the wholesome way)
Would You Rather...
A) Give up texting for five years
B) Lose your bathing suit at a crowded wave pool
I text my partner ALL THE TIME, and I will NEVER GIVE THAT UP
B
At least with this option I could just run away, just one embarrassing moment rather than stuck there for five years or something.
And if someone said took a video of me and posted it, uh, JAIL FOR THEM, CAUSE THAT'S ILLEGAL
Would You Rather...
A) Dirt poor but celebrated as a great poet
B) A filthy rich lawyer who puts guilty criminals back on the street
Hello. I'm a writer.
I ain't gonna put people in danger like that.
A
Would You Rather...
A) Be genetically merged with a warthog
B) Have Chris McLean as your dad
First off, who f****d a warthog to begin with?
You know Chris as a person, you know it would be AWFUL
A
Looks don't matter, I'd say
Would You Rather...
A) Apologize for something you're not sorry for
B) Go bald by the time you're 23
In the episode they act like this is a really hard one because it's Chase.
I knew what he was gonna say right away. You see ONE episode with this guy, you KNOW his answer.
SERIOUSLY EMMA, HE'S YOUR EX, HOW DO YOU SCREW THAT UP?! HOW?!
Anyway, for MY answer,
I'm not a jerk.
A
Yeah I have stuff I'm not sorry for, but it is leagues better than hair loss. Let me tell you.
Also I realized Julia didn't get questioned at all. What's up with that?
What are your answers? Reblog them. I'm curious.

What would I be like in the PJO universe?
a/n - this is would I would be like in the pjo universe, but is also some lore for the character of SKH for when I roleplay :)
a/n part 2 - also, me, @ember-child-of-hecate and 2 anonymous others have a whole headcanon thing going on for a more recent pjo and separately what it would be like if the four of us went there so this is kinda based on that.
__________________________________________
-discovered at school by a Satyer named Cedar (if anyone would like to hear more about cedar she has her own whole lore going on and they’re the group oc created mostly because me and @ember-child-of-hecate)
-Cedar immediately decided “fuck me this child is a chaotic bitch but why do I kinda like them must protec”
-Cedar one day brings up the topic of this “all summer long summer camp” that they go to each summer
-Cedar talks about how fun it is, how much I would like it, etc. and that we if I could convince my parents I really should go with them
-at first I’m very unsure
-but I’m finally convinced
-my mortal parents also say yes, but with some conditions
-the first being I must check in with them everyday somehow, a message, FaceTime, phone call doesn’t matter
-and that I must stay safe
-and like that Cedar and I are off to “the summer camp”
-we get there via a plane sponsored by “Cedar’s very rich parents” (and a very regrettable decision in hindsight once I get claimed, shocking that I didn’t die)
-Cedar and I arrive at an airport
-We get picked up by an old man in a wheelchair and we clamber into a vehicle to go to the camp.
-I’m confused as to why the driver looks freshly 16 and is a strawberry truck but decide not to ask questions (yet)
-The man in the wheelchair introduces himself as a man named Chiron
-Chiron starts to explain about the gods and being a demigod and all the stuffs
-and how I won’t really be able to contact my parents
-I’m shook
-one of my parents isn’t my parent?!?! I can’t talk to my parents?!?! I’m part god?!?! Tf?!?!
-I mostly start expressing my concerns about not being able to contact my parents
-Before Chiron can respond, Cedar whispers something to me
-“The Hephaestus cabin is working on some demigod safe phones, we can convince them to let you have some prototypes, don’t tell anyone though, no one’s really supposed to know about it.”
-ok lemme pause for a moment, I don’t give a shit that that’s not canon that’s why no one knows about it ;)
-ok back too it
-Chiron simply decides not to ask about whatever Cedar said and that he’ll try to find a solution that can meet my needs
-the demigod from the front of the truck say’s we’ve arrived…

Q. Shopping for fall/winter clothes with Leona
🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁
🍂 Though the Sage Island weather was still warm before the chilly fall weather would take over in a few days, Leona realized begrudgingly that he didn’t have any clothes suited for fall and winter beyond that bright-orange parka Ruggie bought him for Camp Vargas a while ago.
🍂 Leona never brought his clothes from back at the Afterglow Savannah palace to NRC (he never packed anything), and he usually relied on Ruggie to buy clothes for him whenever it was necessary.
🍂 It was Saturday, so Leona figured that he could tell Ruggie to go to the Sage Island village and buy clothes for him.
🍂 “Oi, Ruggie,” Leona approached Ruggie in their dorm’s hallway. “Go buy me some clothes.”
🍂 “Eh? I’m busy with your chores today,” Ruggie carried a bin overflowing with Leona’s dirty laundry. “Y’know, Y/N mentioned that they’re planning to go shopping for fall and winter clothes later today. Why don’t you join them?”
🍂 Ruggie sometimes ate lunch with you, Ace, Deuce, Grim, Epel and Jack when he had the chance. Not only did the hyena do so to get a chance to steal more food, but also, it was fun seeing you get visibly flustered just at the mention of Leona’s name.
🍂 Ruggie expected Leona to say “No” or “Just buy me clothes tomorrow.” Instead Leona yawned and said, “Alright. Hold down the fort for me while I’m gone.”
🍂 Ruggie snickered as Leona made his way to the dorm’s mirror portal. “Shishishi, you owe me one, Leona.”
🍂 Minutes later, Leona arrived at your doorstep and knocked on the Ramshackle dorm’s door.
🍂 “Leona?” you opened the door, your eyes widening to see Leona here and awake on a Saturday.
🍂 You were just about to leave for the Sage Island village’s outlet mall. Grim didn’t want to come; the cat demon wanted to sleep in.
🍂 “Hey,” Leona leaned against the door frame, his bare arms crossed against his sleeveless black leather jacket. “Ruggie told me you’re gonna go shopping for warmer clothes later. I need warmer clothes too, so can I come with?”
🍂 “Of course!” you beamed up at him. “What are you planning to buy specifically?”
🍂 “Nothin’ much, probably just a couple of sweaters and jackets to keep me warm,” Leona answered. “What about you?”
🍂 “Warmer pajamas, coats, sweaters,” you ticked off with your fingers as you and Leona walked out of Ramshackle and onto the main cobblestone walkway of NRC. “And little coats for Grim, too.”
🍂 The two of you strolled out of NRC and to the TWST (Twisted Wonderland System of Transportation) bus stop right outside the school. Leona was used to the bus since he took it whenever NRC had a Magift tournament at RSA.
🍂 One bus ride later, the two of you arrived at Sage Island village’s outlet mall, which contained a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants.
🍂 You and Leona entered a popular gender-inclusive and size-inclusive clothing store at the front of the outlet that Cater recommended to you. The shop contained endless gold racks of clothing in every color.
🍂 Leona didn’t care much for fashion and shopping. He also didn’t care if a clothing item was expensive or not as long as it allowed him to move comfortably and it didn’t itch. However, Leona didn’t leave your side as you combed through the racks.
🍂 You easily found stuff for yourself, but Leona was terrible at choosing clothes for himself. He didn’t know his exact size because he always had other people tailor his clothes for him, so you told him to go try on the sweaters and long-sleeved tops you found for him to see what would fit.
🍂 He looked handsome in everything he tried on. Emerging from his dressing room for what felt like the millionth time, Leona stubbornly tugged on the neck of a black turtleneck sweater that fit him perfectly and made him look like an actor. “It’s suffocating,” Leona grumbled, learning that he wasn’t a fan of turtlenecks.
🍂 “Ooh, how about this cardigan?” you pulled out an emerald cardigan in Leona’s size and held it up to him once he emerged from the dressing room again. Leona was relieved to be back in his Savanaclaw dorm uniform. “It matches your eyes.”
🍂 Leona took the cardigan, only because you said it matched his eyes. He put it on, enjoying the softness of the cardigan.
🍂 Leona only liked the emerald cardigan, some black long-sleeved shirts, a gray windbreaker jacket, and a thick brown wool coat out of all the things you picked out for him.
🍂 Shopping with Leona was more fun than you thought it would be. He would make snarky remarks at some of the trendier clothing items, such as, “The hell’s a bodysuit?” or “What’s the point of a crop top and why would people wear it when it’s cold outside?”
🍂 “Maybe you should try on a crop top and find out,” you grinned mischievously, earning a cat-like hiss from Leona.
🍂 As you looked through the toddler’s section to find a raincoat for Grim, Leona turned to the racks to see if he could find something for you.
🍂 His sharp eyes landed on this red Christmas sweater with multicolored string lights woven into its fabric and silver tinsel dangling from the sleeves. The sweater was also embroidered with Santa Claus and his reindeers on the front.
🍂 Like your world, Twisted Wonderland liked to capitalize on Christmas right after Halloween.
🍂 “Hey, herbivore,” Leona held up the sweater and smirked. “How about this for ya?”
🍂 You matched his smirk and replied, “How about you get one too so we can match?”
🍂 As you approached the pajamas section, some lion onesies caught your eye. “Leona, look at these!” you pulled out two lion onesies in your and Leona’s sizes.
🍂 Leona held up the lion onesie you handed him. “I’m insulted,” he frowned at the fluffy caramel-colored lion onesie with cartoonish lion ears and a tail on the back.
🍂 “I’m gonna try it on,” you went to one of the dressing rooms as Leona plopped down on one of the shop’s plush couches.
🍂 If there was one thing Leona learned about shopping that day, it was that shopping got physically tiring real fast with all the walking and standing. However, Leona also found shopping fun with your company.
🍂 After a few minutes, you emerged from your dressing room in your full lion onesie glory.
🍂 “You’re looking at the next dorm leader of Savanaclaw,” you joked, doing a full spin with the onesie’s lion tail. Jokes aside, the onesie was really soft and warm. It was perfect for wearing during cold nights.
🍂 “Pfft, I’d like to see you try living in Savanaclaw for a day,” Leona smirked in amusement, resting his chin in his palm.
🍂 “Hey, I could if I wanted to,” you put your hands on your hips, but the onesie didn’t make you look intimidating to Leona at all. Instead, he found you quite adorable. “You should try the onesie on, too, Leona.”
🍂 “A lion in a lion onesie?” Leona deadpanned, yet he still had the onesie you picked out for him in his hands along with his other clothes.
🍂 “Pleeeease,” you pouted at Leona for good measure. “We could match.”
🍂 Your pout was all it took for Leona to stand up and make his way to the empty dressing room next to yours. “You’re lucky that you’re cute,” Leona mumbled as he closed his dressing room door.
🍂 “Wait, you think I’m cute?” your eyes widened in shock despite Leona already being in his dressing room.
🍂 Inside his dressing room, Leona face-palmed himself at the fact that he said that you were cute out loud. As he pulled on the lion onesie, he had to admit that it was really soft.
🍂 When he came out of his dressing room in the lion onesie, you couldn’t contain your giggles. The buff, intimidating lion beastman leader of Savanaclaw was indeed wearing a lion onesie.
🍂 “You’re cute, too,” you grinned at Leona, who’s grumpy expression contrasted the cute lion onesie on him. His own lion ears flattened against the hood of the onesie.
🍂 “Hmph,” Leona grumped, yet a smile fought its way onto his face at being called “cute” by you. He also made no move to return to his dressing room and change out of the onesie.
🍂 After much convincing, you managed to take a selfie with Leona with the two of you in the onesies (he made you promise that you would never show the picture to anyone). The two of you then changed back to your normal clothes and finalized the clothing items that each of you would buy.
🍂 “You’re buying the onesie?” you inquired, shocked that Leona wanted to buy it.
🍂 “Why not? It’s comfy,” Leona patted the lion onesie that rested on top of the other clothes on his arm as the two of you went to the cash register.
🍂 “Are you paying together or separate?” The cashier smiled at you and Leona.
🍂 “Separate,” you and Leona answered at the same time. You giggled at that, while Leona chuckled.
🍂 Before you could step forward to pay for your and Grim’s stuff first, Leona took your lion onesie from your hands.
🍂 “Lemme pay for your onesie,” Leona stepped forward to dump all of his clothes on the cash register’s desk. He neatly put his onesie and your onesie on top.
🍂 “No,” you shook your head. “I can afford it.”
🍂 Leona, who already gave the cashier his luxury credit card, turned back to face you. “Think of it as a thank you for helping me pick out my clothes today,” Leona winked at you. “Plus, you can treat me to lunch later.”
🍂 The cashier began folding Leona’s clothes neatly into a recyclable bag. “Excellent choice on the onesies. They’re popular among couples.”
🍂 “We’re not a couple.” you and Leona corrected the cashier at the same time with flustered expressions. Realizing that you both said the same thing at the same time, you and Leona glanced at each other only to both look away swiftly.
🍂 “Uh-huh,” the cashier mused, unconvinced. The cashier handed Leona his bag of clothes and you stepped forward to pay for your own clothes.
🍂 Everything you needed to buy for yourself and Grim was pretty affordable, and you had saved up more than enough to buy all these clothes. Plus, Crowley recently gave you an allowance because 1. He was technically responsible for you and 2. He said the allowance was from “the endless kindness of his heart.”
🍂 After paying for your clothes, you left the store with Leona. It was about 1 p.m., a good time for lunch.
🍂 “Are you hungry?” you asked Leona, who gave you your wrapped-up lion onesie and then checked his phone to see if Ruggie or Jack texted him about anything Savanaclaw-related.
🍂 “Yeah,” Leona replied as he switched his phone off.
🍂 “Ooh, let’s go check out this cafe in the outlet that Cater told me about,” you suggested. “They have some meat dishes, too. Cater said the cafe’s popular so we should hurry.”
🍂 “Alright,” Leona agreed. As the two of you walked through the outlet, you both noticed that more people crowded the outlet since the two of you arrived.
🍂 People shuffled and bumped past you and Leona. “Hey,” Leona took your hand in his. “Hold my hand so we don’t lose each other.”
🍂 “Ok,” you glanced down at Leona’s hand. You shifted your hand slightly to intertwine your fingers with his so that you wouldn’t be able to lose each other. Leona’s hand was slightly rough since he never used lotion, but you didn’t mind one bit.
🍂 Leona almost stopped in his tracks when he felt your fingers intertwining with his. It felt like the two of you were a couple on a date, and he liked the thought of that.
🍂 A light breeze swept through the outlet to signal the start of fall, and Leona was glad to have your hand keeping his warm as the two of you continued your unofficial date.

Little notes:
🍓 A lil bit of world building, but I like to think that the TWST world has a public transportation system named TWST, which stands for “Twisted Wonderland System of Transportation.”
🍓A little post-story headcanon: Leona likes to wear the lion onesie around the dorm, so his Savanaclaw underclassman and even Jack now think that onesies are trendy and got onesies for themselves, too. Ruggie couldn’t stop laughing when he first saw Leona wearing that lion onesie.

I felt pretty good today. And that was good! Because I wanted to end camp on a good note. And now camp is over, and the off season begins!
I slept alright last night. I woke up twice a little disoriented and uncomfortable. But I was able to sleep pretty well outside of that. Waking up was really tough. And my body ached really bad.
But I was doing alright. James got me a bagel for breakfast. Which I would have preferred more toasted but it was still good. James gave me lots of hugs and sent me off to work with good vibes for the last day of camp.
And it was a good time. I got there at 8. I ate half of my bagel while driving. And when I got to camp I was glad that no one was parked in my spot. Tony had been yesterday (thought he moved by 9 and apologized haha) but my spot on front of the building was just like me like it should be.
I would set up and spent some time sweeping and continuing cleaning up and getting ready for the season to be over. I would slowly work through things all day. But I felt good about the space. Really what I need to focus on next is going to be going through Native American field trip stuff so that everything is set for the school year. A task I am dreading but will get done. Probably on Thursday.
My groups today were good. They made good art. I was running low on quite a few colors of felt but the kids made due. And we're mostly self sufficient and so I worked on my knitting and enjoyed chatting and helping them cut their felt. I would show them fabric cutting techniques (use the armpit of the scissors, use small movements, take your time) but if they were still struggling I asked that they draw out the shape before asking me to help cut things because I am not a mind reader and didn't want to mess up their ideas. They would find this funny but it saved me a ton of frustration trying to get them to use their words to describe what they wanted.
I would work on some tasks during lunch. I had my cereal. And went to get check lists for cleaning from the office. Checked in with people about gathering materials from all the new programs spaces. I won't have time tomorrow because I'm helping with a field trip/rental for most of the day. But everyone has been on board and that's just really excellent.
My afternoon was just two day camp groups. Who were very sweet. They would help me clean up. And we're mainly good. Thought one child washed s ton of my hot glue just making a melted mountain and I wasn't happy. But after I spoke to him he stopped and understand why I didn't want him to do that. We learn and we grow.
My last group do the day helped me clean really well. I gave out smiley stickers to those who were helping. Which always makes them help more. I always act like it's the biggest deal to get a sticker so they are really sweet trying hard. And then I told them thank you for being a good last group. And then they said goodbye.
I spent most of the next hour cleaning. Throwing stuff out. Packing things away. Was doing good. And eventually I would take a walk to drop off my check lists. Callie ran up behind me and I was really happy to see her. We walked around together to the different specialties and dropped things off and said hello to people. It was nice.
I would keep cleaning for a bit. Signed some tshirts for friends. Took a few minutes to knit and sip water and have a small snack. And then off to the office for a meeting.
We were meeting about tomorrow's rental. 200 ublaw students coming for team building and diversity training. I am only slightly nervous because I haven't done team building in a while. But it's only two blocks of 45 minutes so I'm not to worried. I want to look over the lessons beforehand but I am sure it'll come back to me. More of the worry is that it's supposed to storm really bad in the morning. But hopefully it just passes us by and it's not a big deal.
We are going to be given breakfast and lunch tomorrow which I'm excited about. And we decided on the Kelly green camp shirt. But I didn't know where mine was. So I would have to go search peeps mill. And thankfully that's where it was. And the day was saved.
I would go home soon after that. And got back home at 5. I was happy that James was already home. And getting ready to host their parents.
We set up the backyard and made it cute. James made burgers and stuff. And once we were set up I would lay on the couch until they rang the door bell.
It was really nice to see them. They brought salmon and James grilled that too. We also had water melon which was great. And I was just really enjoying the company. They told us about their trip and work and friends.
James would make burgers (and a veggie chicken sandwich for me which was very very spicy) and we had great conversations and after dinner James made crepes for dessert which were excellent. I love my husband. They do such a good job making food.
Anne got to learn that there's a fig tree behind our fence. So she would go over there with a container and got a dozen beautiful figs. She loves figs so that was super sweet. I am glad she got to get so many!
Me and Tucker chatted for a while. He tried cottage cheese for the first time and really liked it. And I said my dad always eats it with pineapple but I've never tried it. Jess prefers it as a savory thing. It's for sure catching on.
They would head home soon after that. Which was for the best, as my stomach started hurting again. Me and James would lay on the couch, just both very very tired. It was a long day!
Now we are in bed. James is dozing. I am winding down. It was a long day. But I'm happy.
And because things just keep going. Tomorrow I go back to camp for camp clean up and the ublaw rental. I have to be home by 430 but I will do my best to help outside of that. And then I have a few days off. To hopefully just rest and chill.
I hope you all have a great night. I love you all. Goodnight!!

The pit’s fire was all the warmth Y/N needed that night. It was bright enough to scare the darkness away and what could bother to hide in it.
Its fire that it held in stone and dying wood, would bring life to her face. The defined features feeling the graze of its heat as it speckled its spotlight on her and her crew of four.
It was just the small group of friends that invited the girl to go camping with them.
A particular blonde would be the reason for that though. “So, Y/N, we normally don’t see you a lot lately. It’s like you’ve become a hermit.”
Steve Rogers would say with a small awkward smile as he sat next to you in his blue and red camping chair that would squeak every so often when he moved. “Oh-, it’s just because of homework and other school stuff you know? It’s been keeping me busy and stuck up in my room.”
Y/N replied to her classmate and friend while waving a small hand gesture as she talked.
“And, um- well you know finals too! Things need to be turned in and graded before the due date because you know… um- graduation.”
She said partially lying. She actually was trying to get things turned in so her grades looked as nice as a straight line of hammered nails in a block of wood. But to be more truthful, she was mostly binge watching horror movies all over again. Scream, A Nightmare on Elm Street, all the Halloween movies, Trick or Treat, all the old classics!
“Huh, you could have just done a study group with us.”
He would simply say while gesturing to Bucky, Natasha and Wanda who were just having a conversation until his words interrupted them causing the spotlight to be on the girl who was just trying to enjoy the night without disturbance.
“Well—“
Y/N dragged the “L” in her one worded speech as she scratched the back of her neck while avoiding the glances.
“Steve, leave her alone. She probably wanted privacy from your chattering mouth.”
Bucky interrupted with a small smirk as his comment made Steve’s ears as red as an elf’s.
“Do I really chatter that much?”
Steve asked while leaning back in his seat causing another squeak to be heard. That thing was too old, like him, himself but in the mind. “Yes.” Was the simple answer that spewed out of everyone’s mouth. “Roger, not to be rude but sometimes when we’re studying you’ll mumble for hours on how we should be on task and how important this project is without even starting it.”
Natasha spoke while crossing her legs to eat a Marshmallow that was almost burnt to the crisp, but in her words. “It was better that way, crisp outside and gooey inside is the way to go.” Her words repeated in Y/N’s head for a second from earlier.
As her mind was having a small relapse. Her closed off brain would return once it heard bloody murder but it was just Wanda when she looked up quickly. Natasha had flung a small leaf that resembled a dead bug at her. The laughter in the air was intoxicating and she would soon suck it all in too causing a small laugh to escape her lips that played a small smile at Wanda. She was her horror buddy and from her looks she gave Y/N earlier would say she probably already knew what she was doing the entire time up in her room which is honestly understandable because a small horror break isn’t a bad thing. She just wished Y/N invited her along, which will cause a long conversation in the car once the group starts to head back tomorrow in the morning. “Okay- okay, I’m sorry Nat!”
Wanda said with laughter being her oxygen now.
“Do not steal my marshmallow again!”
Natasha said with a pout playing on her face that made it more funny. “It’s not my fault you have to make such good marshmallows-“
Which was a lie because Y/N clearly remembered how Wanda had a small fight with Natasha on what was the proper way to cook with marshmallows for a food drive when they were making small sweet desserts. While the argument began, Y/N would hear something behind her... It was only the wind she thought, but the heavy breathing didn’t sound like the screeching wind. Gloved hands would grab at her shoulders which caused her to scream from her throat like a rooster at day. The laughter for Wanda soon became Y/N’s as Steve let go of her shoulders and took off the bloody hockey mask.
“And I thought you weren’t afraid of scary things-“
Steve’s chuckle caught in every word as he sat back down causing another damn squeak. “Ya, I’m not when it’s in movies, jackass.”
She said while punching his shoulder. “Don’t tell me you brought that damn mask.”
Bucky said while glancing back at him. “It was for the scare but you know how I like to get when I tell stories. Especially scary ones.”
Steve said while scraping his fingertips against the rough markings of the “old mask” he probably bought from the dollar store. Bucky never liked scary things for a guy like him which was completely fine. It was just shocking kinda from how he dressed and acted but there’s a surprise to everyone. “Well, since you brought it. Go on and tell the tale of the poor girl who died here.”
Wanda said while sitting up to have her full attention on Steve as he was the best to tell these types of things. “Well perfect timing, I need to go take a piss so I’m out of here.”
Bucky announced while standing up, the fire making it easier to see his fake arm. “Gross, you don’t have to announce it every single time whenever you need to take a piss Bucky.”
Nat said with a cringe expression that strained over her pale face. “Well I’m sorry, I’ll go use the “powder” room.”
He mocked as there was no bathroom unless you wanted to walk far to the community one, which no one wanted to do at this time, this dark.
Y/N rolled her eyes at them before nudging Steve to continue. “Go on, I want to hear this one.”
She said while sitting up a little straighter.
“Well, we all know the well known fact that this place used to be an old boot camp, that’s why you can find so many old cabins and obstacle courses.
It’s said a girl was dropped off here by her father on the first day of summer. Her name was Maria and was said to be the only girl there causing her to be toyed with by the boys. She shocked most of them on what she could do and how much strength she already had, but that didn’t stop some from picking on her.”
He explained while he lifted the mask up to rest against his chin. “They would push her in mud, pick fights with her, frame her about things that she didn’t do. All the high school bully shit one could go through. They tried to make it hell for Maria at the point she would leave, but she couldn’t.”
Steve said while gesturing with his broad hands that waved in the cool air around them. “It was seven weeks stuck at the boot camp when they were practicing with real grenades for the training course that week. Grant, one of the kids at the boot camp, would invite her towards the lake with a small group of friends he had. Of course she wouldn’t oblige until he mocked her, calling her a coward. With a sharp glare she would follow him to prove what he said was wrong. When they made it they managed to gather extra grenades somehow. They would be throwing them in the big lake to create giant explosions of water that were too far for any superior officer to hear or notice. Grant would give Maria a grenade and invited her to throw one. She didn’t like the waste in supplies and she could tell it was a waste of fish too as she saw the corpses of scales and fish eyes in the gloomy water. Without her knowledge, Grant gave her one without the pin. As she held it she was about to give it back to him before all of sudden the boy pushed her in the lake. The bomb exploded as she hit the water!”
He would say loudly as he stood up for a dramatic effect. As if on queue, a loud snap in the trees would alert the three. “That was probably Bucky coming back, or just an animal.”
Wanda would say with a small chuckle as she combed her hand through her long hair. They would go back to the haunting tale, but Y/N’s eyes lingered in the darkness, hoping something would reveal itself but nothing did. Probably a bird… she thought.
“Anyway- heh Um.. she was said to have died from drowning in the water, but it’s said a lightning strike is what brought her back to life as it flowed through the lake’s body.
Pulling herself out of the lake she would have lost part of her hand, face, she was atrocious to look at! Walking back with more strength than a bear she would break through the cabin doors and revenge herself by killing Grant and his friends…
It’s said she covers her face with a hockey mask that Grant had as a trophy, but others say it’s a reminder of that night.
It’s said if you visit here, you have a chance to find her roaming the old camp grounds, waiting for her father to return and to chase anyone who stays…”
Steve said while placing the mask on his face.
“Okay this story is kinda bulshit- Where did the lighting strike come from all of sudden? how did it bring her back to life?”
Natasha spoke as she leaned back into her red camping chair.
“I don’t know, it was just a part of the story when I was told it.”
Steve explained while Y/N rolled her eyes. “Clearly you never read Frankenstein.”
She said, making Wanda snicker a little.
As they all spoke they would hear footsteps following along branches and leaves that covered the pathway.
“Finally Bucky, how long does it-“
Wanda’s words were interrupted by a plastic arm being thrown in the middle of the group, landing in the fire. If you looked closely enough they could see the specks of red dripping from its melting surface. “Holy fucking shit- Bucky are you insane?!”
Nat would spew words out fast as she stood up looking behind her. She wasn’t met with Bucky’s eyes, different blue irises would stare back- but she wouldn’t know that for now until the figure grew closer. As their footsteps grew louder, their stances would be more frozen in place. A dark mask, weathered and old would show itself in the tinted lighting of orange from the fire. “Ohh- good prank guys! Come on Steve tell Bucky to quit it.”
Nat spoke with some sarcasm as Wanda stepped back a little. “N-Nat, that’s not Bucky!”
Steve yelled but his warning was too late. A hammer would smash against her body’s ribcage. The feeling of her bones crunching and shattering in her would let a scream out through her throat and coughs that burned without a breath of air in between.
Natasha’s body fell in front of them against the dirt ground. One hit wasn’t enough as the steel block beated the body until the squirms and gasping was over like a bug being squished.
As the killer of Natasha was standing back to their full height, Steve would force himself on them. Pushing them to the ground as his hand reached for the hammer. “Run, …Run!”
His words loud and heavy as Y/N and Wanda ran into the forest without a thought on her mind as it was already filled and intoxicated with confusion and fear that crawled among their skin. Y/N could hear the blonde’s screams from afar as the beating of steel and flesh meat would echo to ears that were blocked by palms to hide away from the horrific noise. As they ran Wanda’s eyes would widen and reflect the hanging Bucky against tree branches. The murder scenes from horror movies didn’t prepare her eyes to see the unrecognizable body of her friend.
Y/N would pull the frozen Wanda along by her wrist until the heavy breathing of a woman would come closer. Calloused hands gripping the wrist of the brunette would force a whimper out of her lips as they pulled her closer to them harshly. If it wasn’t for the killer’s strength, Wanda would have had a chance at running away if it hadn’t for the harsh pull of her arm that yanked the humérus from its socket. The yank would force her face into the bloody hammer.
The sprinkle of blood sprayed against Y/N’s face lightly caused a sickness to dawn on her and a feeling that made her mouth gape open but nothing would come out but noises of squeaks and words that couldn’t escape her vocals completely. Y/N’s hands covering her face as if it was to hide and be safe, to not see the dull eyes that were hooded through the creases of a mask she could barely see from the darkness. Y/N could hear the breathing, but couldn't feel the heat of a body that would normally radiate off of someone. But it was only a guess and a need to be safe that she swung her fists towards the tall being. Eyes still closed she would hear a small grunt and groan before the sound of an object hit the dirt ground that crackled dying leaves.
E/C eyes would meet the face that flourished at moonlight. Only a small examination would tell her the anger that she felt around this woman she saw. Even if a third of her face was blown off and the rest scarred wouldn’t stop her from seeing the clenched jaw and the creased brow that hung above the eye. It came to realization that this… was Maria from the boot camp tale.
As it finally strikes Y/N’s head she would be pushed against a tree’s bark that pierced her back through thin fabric.
“I’m going to murder you.”
The heavy breath that followed along with words that rasped out of cut lips and clenched teeth. The heaving body in front of her was like an animal’s.
The shock of this reveal was too overwhelming for the body as Y/N couldn’t utter a word out, and if she tried it would only be a cry that would be barely auditable. Maria would drop her hammer to the ground and grab the woman by her neck to rise from the soil and beat her back against the tree harshly one more time. As bony hands choke Y/N out of oxygen that her lungs died to inhale, so would her vision as it became a blur of tears and how light headed she became. Y/N’s hands would give a fighting chance and scratch at the muscled arms and hands but her nails digging into spoiled skin wouldn’t harm or disturb this psychopath.
But she wasn’t strong enough, and the loss of air didn’t help much either. Her hands giving out and only settling against the wrists of Maria.
Sight becoming vivid, would make the killer’s face a blur, only recognizing those glacier eyes before it became a blank canvas.
When Maria noticed the squirming stopped she would have dropped her body on the crud, grassy ground. Leaving a light thump to be heard.
“Jesus…”
Maria muttered through her lips as she held Y/N’s figure close to her body beneath the blankets on the couch. Her eyes would squint at the scenes being performed before her. She wasn’t really scared but rather disturbed by how violent someone could create a character. “What, scared you?”
Y/N asked with a cocky grin as she leaned her head up to see her girlfriend. “No- not at all- just surprised. It’s not like those other movies we watched. It’s more graphic.”
“Ya.That's why this one is a yes and no for me.
Hey- you know what it’s almost Halloweennn, you could dress up as her!”
Y/N spoke with a smile towards Maria only causing her to chuckle and shake her head. “Hmph, no way in hell.”
“Come on.. please?”
Y/N only needed to ask once with her pleading eyes. It made Maria chuckle and sigh. “Fine- fine, you win Princess.”
Her response made her girlfriend’s eyes become stars as she started to fan over the idea of Maria dressing up as a horror character. “Yesss, it would be perfect! You look so much like her too.”
Y/N would explain excitedly as Maria placed an arm over her shoulder on the couch. Her glacier eyes would slowly glance back at the hammer that was kicked under the small night table’s wooden figure that displayed itself near the front door.
“Ya… I would.”
HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!!
This was absolutely amazing 😩🤌 I swear I couldn't stop smiling and giggling. Absolutely insane!!! I love it so much thank you thank you thank you for sharing this awesome piece of work 🥹🙏

Day 9 - July 7th
With all our gear washed and food resupplied we left our Zero Day hotel before 8am. The first 40+ miles of our route were paved and relatively flat so we knocked them out in under 4 hours.
Along the way we pedaled past Lois & Gary and they gave us his signature salute and called us pussies as we went by. I thought they were headed to Washington, so why they were headed east was a mystery to me. I think they may have been going in the wrong direction. But hey, they’ve traveled across the country multiple times so I guess they knew what they were doing.
From Whitefish, we headed through Columbia Falls and south to Echo Lake through the Flathead valley. David and I had taken a similar route from south to north in 2018. At the time most of the land was being used for agriculture. Now, the valley is pocked with new homes. Some McMansions Montana style. It was surprising to see how much change has taken place.
Tumblr media
Downtown Columbia Falls.
As we proceeded, we saw multiple signs for tour divide. One offered camping to any riders and another marking the miles between Banff and Antelope Wells. At the latter sign, a gent recommended a restaurant, the Echo Lake Café. He said the crêpes were excellent. So 10 miles down the road we came upon the restaurant, grabbed seats at the coffee bar, and proceeded to order breakfast. Everything was quite delicious, including the crêpes. The high school kids working the counter were quite generous with lemonade, orange juice, and tea refills. They were also quite curious about our ride and what we were up to. After espressos to wrap up our meal, we rested outside in the grass for a half hour, then hopped on our bikes to finish the day.

Free camping!

We had ridden almost 400 miles at this point.
Miles 45 to 55 were all climbing but miles 55 to 65 were all descending. Both are tough in their own way. With climbing you just have to get in a rhythm and grind it out. With descending you have to concentrate on your line as you proceed downward while staying relaxed enough to absorb changes in the road surface. In both cases you just want to stay up on the bike.
Tumblr media
Just another climb.
In the middle of the climb we came upon a guy pulling a trailer with his bike. Like so many others, he was headed to Antelope Wells and maybe beyond. If was quite relaxed about he overall destination and even his destination for the night. Due to mechanical problems he had only covered 5 miles for the day and it was already mid-afternoon. He said he’d stop whenever he felt the urge. Needless to say, we never saw him again.
Most of our gravel riding today was is thick forest so we didn’t see much. The first 40 miles offered wonderful views of the mountains, however.

More Flathead Valley.
On the descent.
Our campgrounds was in Swan Lake. Unfortunately, the lake is hidden beyond the trees. The Swan Lake Trading Post is privately owned and the owner was greeting us before we clipped out of our pedals. We already had reservations so all she could do was sell us on the features of the place… showers, flush toilets, cold beer, ice cream!
As we walked to our cabins, we ran into the three riders we met in Whitefish two days ago. John, John, and Nick are riding the same route as us so we expect to see them several more times. We dropped off our stuff and sat with them over beers on the back porch of the trading post. We shared stories about other riders and compared notes for the next couple days.
Tumblr media
Ed’s favorite beer! Not.
After dinner we got huckleberry shakes and then hit the sack. Tomorrow is scheduled to be a 55 mile day with lots of up and down. We will need the sleep.
Cheers.
