SUMMARY: You receive unsigned letters on Valentines Day. They might be love letters but at Night Raven College, you can never tell. A.K.A Leona Kingscholar is bad at love letters.

You open the door, the whole building shakes a little. You're unfazed to the shakiness of Ramshackle at this point.

You were about to take a step forward when you noticed a letter on your doorstep. You pick it up curiously and you're about to open it when…you shove it in your pocket.

"Grim, hurry up! Let's go!" You shout, beginning to briskly walk to the gates. No way, this was NRC. You wouldn't open this in front of Ramshackle. Knowing the guys here, it could totally be a prank and having Ramshackle be blown up would be inconvenient.

"Fygaa, got it, got it! Stop rushing me dazo!" Grim grumbles, bounding after you. He walks besides your heels as he scratches at the choker. 

You can't help but feel a little dread in your stomach as you approach the main street. After all, it's February 14th. 

Valentines day.

Upon showing up in Twisted Wonderland and meeting some of the guys at NRC, you knew you were doomed to be alone on this day from the very start. As attractive as some of the guys were, they were also absolute brats and no way would they ever be interested in you.

Perfect was just a title. You are just some magicless human. 

Considering NRC was an all-boys school, it wouldn't be strange to maybe see a few gay couples. But if you factor in the environment… You doubt anyone here would partake in what they'd consider to be 'mushy behavior'.

You take a deep breath and enter the main street. You blink. Everything is decorated with hearts and pink. It looks like Heartslabyul vomited everywhere.

"It's really tacky, isn't it, [Name]?" An arm is suddenly on your shoulders as a weight leans down on you. "Did Heartslabyul decorate?" You asked Ace curiously. 

"Yeah, we spent all morning and yesterday decorating. Cater probably posted all those pictures already on his magicam…" Deuce sighed. "Did Ace give you any chocolates?" You suddenly ask. 

"What?" He looks confused while Ace is frantically shaking his head. "No way! Why would I ever give this idiot chocolates?! I-I don't like him like that!" He screeches, face red. "Oho! So you admit you like him? Are you finally accepting the fact that you're perhaps…good pals?!" You snicker loudly upon catching him.

"Nyahaha! Your face is so red dazo!" Grim joins in, laughing at the duo. "Ugh, shut up, you stupid cat! You can't even eat chocolate!" Ace scowls. 

"Oi, who're you calling a cat dazo?!"

"Oh, speaking of chocolates!" Deuce snaps, the topic having easily flown past him. "Trey wanted us to give this to you for him." He went through his blazer pocket, taking out a little box. 

You take it from him and shake it curiously. It sounds like their are tiny items inside. Sweets from the baker no doubt. "Nice, thank him for me if you see him." You smile, pocketing the gift along with the letter. 

"Ooh! Food! Was that food dazo?! I want it!" Grim perks up at the smell. "It's for later. Maybe if you behave, I'll give you one." You hope it isn't chocolate for Grim's sake. 

"Oh, henchman! What was that letter earlier by the way dazo?" You deadpanned. Grim had seen it earlier? You brace yourself with a sigh. 

"Aha! What is this?! The perfect got a love letter, hm?" Ace smirks. "Whoa, so does that mean a student on campus likes you?" Deuce gasps.

"I guess I can open it now. I really doubt anyone does." You shrug. If it blows up in your face, you're blaming Ace for it. They hold their breaths in anticipation as you open the letter. 

It simply says in neat handwriting,

Be prepared.

You gulp. You wait. It does not blow up. "That's…Is that a threat?" Deuce frowns. "Fygaa?! What d'they think they're doing threatening my henchman dazo?!" Grim growls.

"Bahaha! No guy would ever write a love letter to you!" Ace bursts into laughter. 

"No one even sent any chocolates to you, Ace!" 

"No, Trey actually made us chocolates too!"

You argue the rest of the way until you make it to class. You freeze upon entering the classroom. There, right there.

On your desk is another card. Ace bursts into more laughter while Deuce looks mildly concerned. 

"Is somebody following you…?"

Why So Rude? (Or Yuu's BF Asks Crewel for their Hand in Marriage and What Happens Next Will Shock You)

For legal reasons, this is a joke. I have been dealing with a health issue of sorts (i am not dying so no worrying ok? just v annoyed) so writing longer stuff is escaping me at the moment, enjoy some crack while I take a breather. More can be found on my masterlist here.

NO (FLOYD, Rook, and Malleus)

Crewel has been in denial about this "relationship" since it started. Not that his disapproval is really going to stop Floyd, but Crewel 100% refers to him as "Yuu's ex boyfriend" much to the confusion of... everyone who hears that. They do find some common ground in their shared interest in fashion, but Crewel has never forgiven him for his behavior in his class OR his "stealing" Yuu's heart.

Rook on the other hand he didn't have too much of an issue with until he realized just how familiar he seemed to be with his home for someone who had supposedly only been there to visit you. The twenty page letter he wrote to confess his feelings to you didn't help either once he saw the few lines where Rook wrote about the beauty of your finger prints, but he knows his disapproval means very little to someone as obsessed with romance as Rook.

Malleus... is the King of a country genuinely hostile to humans and Crewel thinks he is a little too obsessed with Yuu for his own good. He is also not a fan of how condescending Malleus is towards his disapproval, but it's an issue that will be worked out eventually. They are fighting out of love for the same person, your safety and happiness is all they really care about at the end of the day.

No, but as a joke (Sebek and Jack)

I don't think he has anything against him really, he just wants to see how important tradition and the opinion of his elders actually is to him. When Sebek begins to plead his case because he does not wish to put a wedge between Yuu and their father figure, but cannot deny his feelings for Yuu Crewel's more than happy to "change his mind." He knows you will be happy and well looked after.

Jack is a solid partner, and he is a wolf beastman who speaks of Yuu as his soulmate, his one and only, his eternal life partner and- well. Crewel just can't resist a bit of teasing, he's always been so serious and easy to fluster about these sort of things. The sheepish look on his face when he realizes Crewel has been teasing him makes it very worth it.

I can't stop you can I... (Leona, Kalim, and Rollo)

While Crewel has faith that Leona has what it takes to save his home- he lives in the Sunset Savannah. That is really far away from the Queendom of Roses ( ; ω ; ) have some pity on your poor father he can't travel that far all the time it's bad for his skin. The pressures of being the partner of royalty is something he worries over, but a smug promise from Leona to protect you soothes his worries somewhat.

The flippant way Kalim talks about the assassination attempts is not the way Crewel wants to hear about attempts on your life or heaven forbid your death. Kalim is very sympathetic to this, he has no real argument against how ignorant he was in the past, but he isn't a child anymore. Just filled with a childlike love for the world and determination to make it better. It is hard to say no to that.

Rollo is too much like Trein. His request for your hand in marriage feels like something that the old man would cry tears of genuine joy over, so of course he hates it. Unfortunately he also knows how much this teen grandfather matters to you or whatever so the answer will be yes. At least he has an excuse to visit Fleur City more now.

Give me one good reason. (Azul, Jade, Idia, and Lilia)

Azul was such a good student that he should have zero complaints that you started dating. But he also isn't blind and dislikes being pandered to, which is very much what Azul is doing here. He does wonder briefly if this is a cultural thing and he is being insensitive, but he is still exasperated enough to not immediately say yes. The strange twinkle that comes to Azul's eyes at the prospect of negotiations makes him wish he had though.

Speaking of not being blind, what does the Leech family do and is it legal? Survey says probably yes, but Crewel remembers dealing with Jade's parents while he was in school and has no desire to feed his child to the shar- err eels. Jade immediately begins to sniffle, oh how could Crewel say such bad things about him? A poor innocent eel and blah blah blah. If Jade wasn't such a good partner he'd be cooked.

Crewel understands and appreciates the effort Idia has put in to his personal growth and he has no desire to shit on that... but S.T.Y.X. and the secrecy around it is no joke. He wants to continue having a relationship with Yuu and as soon as Idia reassures him of that he has no more objections.

Lilia is an old man, a war criminal, and a father. Of course Crewel has seen how he was able to live as a student while at NRC but his own credit as a father would be under fire if he didn't object mildly. Lilia has some fun with it and has a bit more respect for him for objecting. So long as the eventual answer is yes.

Yes (Riddle, Trey, Cater, Ruggie, Jamil, and Epel)

While Crewel does have some red flag concerns concerning Riddle's mother, he has no real objections to Riddle himself. He is a perfect gentlemen and the correct amount of nervous to be asking the question. He gets full marks, as if there would ever be any other outcome.

Trey is that sort of solid option that parents really love, but he also has that tight personal relationship with Crewel from his Science Club days. He lives in the Queendom and is tight with his own family there are few better places for Yuu to be.

While Cater isn't Crewel's favorite student, he doesn't hate him or the Shaftlands. He is also not entirely unconvinced that him asking is for a magicam trend but! He has no real major objections. He is more than ready to have two kids, as soon as Cater is willing to admit he could use a stable father figure.

I don't think that Ruggie would even suggest marrige unless he's obtained that stable, high paying job he so baldy wants and has moved his Granny out of the slums. It's the perfect time to ask for permission to propose, and while the Savannah is still super far away (r.i.p. Crewel's skin) he is much more supportive of the two of you and how far you've come.

Similarly to Ruggie, I don't think Jamil would propose to Yuu unless his personal issues with Kalim and his position with the Asim's had been sorted. He wants to actually travel on his honeymoon, and Crewel is very willing to suggest the Queendom of Roses. Jamil's ego is absolutely stroked by how Crewel had zero objections but your adoptive dad doesn't get to see how smug it makes him, Jamil saves the smirks for when you say yes.

I think that Crewel seems to like all of the first years, and Epel is no exception. Sure, his request starts out well put together and polite but devolves into a dialect that leaves Crewel with no idea of what he's saying, but he has a general idea. Of course Epel has his blessing, Harveston sounds like a lovely place for Yuu to live their life in Twisted Wonderland and Epel a perfect person to keep them safe and happy.

He already planned the wedding (Ace, Deuce, Silver and Vil)

I know what you're saying. Crewel approving of Ace? Of course he does! He was in his homeroom class, and Crewel has a soft spot for trouble makers from the Queendom, he was one after all! Sure he might have had some problems with him when you first started dating, but now, when he is deathly serious saying he wants to spend the rest of his life with you? Crewel has been waiting for this since he fist saw carrot head yanking your chain.

Deuce is a much easier sell, Crewel was always a bit harsh on his intelligence, but only because he ran a tight ship and wanted him to reach for the stars. Well he has, and he has you to support him through it, Crewel is so proud of both. He and Dilla have absolutely been hypothetically planning this for years.

While Silver's curse did not endear him to Crewel for his first two years of schooling, he really grew on him when you started going out. He's glad that you've found someone who loves you as much as Silver does, really he is. Unfortunately this means he has to plan a wedding with Lilia, something they both have been doing since you started going out and never talked about. Don't worry! They only intend to fight a lot little bit.

The instant you started dating Vil Crewel entered his mother of the bride era. The permission asking was less Vil wanting to be polite and more him coming up with a way to distract him and convince him to focus on designing the clothes. Thankfully it works and no one other than his dogs have to know just how insane the prospect of his two favorite students marrying made him.

Leona's ideal type would be...

Someone who knows themselves and their worth. Leona might be apathetic and somewhat lazy, but he knows exactly what he's capable of. While he is willing to nudge people in the right direction, he doesn't want to deal with any dead weight.

Someone who doesn't take things at face value. He thinks having people who do what he wants are an advantage, but he doesn't think highly of any brainless followers. You are allowed to question him, disagree with him, even completely go against him. You also can disagree whenever he says he's "fine" and "just tired" whenever he's been skipping classes for too many days in a row, and there's an unopened letter from Falena on his desk.

Someone who doesn't mock his sleeping habits. Leona has some chaoric sleeping patterns, and he often doesn't sleep for a full night. If he says it's naptime, then it's naptime, and you don't get to do more than playfully argue. He'll also allow you to join him if you keep quiet enough.

Someone who doesn't belittle him. He knows he will never be enough. He knows he's just a second choice, if not less than that. He knows that he will not always be your top priority. And he doesn't believe you when you say or prove to him otherwise. But it's the first time he enjoys seeing someone try to prove him wrong.

Jack's ideal type would be...

Someone who doesn't share his black and white way of thinking. Jack had a very rigid code of conduct, and he sticks to it religiously. While his views can't always be challenged, he likes the idea that regardless of your way of thinking you're still willing to understand him, and he's willing to do the same.

Someone who wants a serious relationship. As a wolf beastman and a witness of the dedicated love the generations before him showed, Jack has some very idealised expectations for his love life. He doesn't jump into relationships right away, and he's open with what he wants from the very beginning of your relationship. lf you stick around, he'll take it you feel the same.

Someone who is more of a realist. Jack finds enjoyment in becoming the best version of himself on all levels. Yet, he struggles to keep an open mind when he's decided to do something. Reminding him to give up on his tunnel vision from time to time and see the bigger picture brings him back to reality and makes him feel thankful for you and your ability to remind him to be a bit more real with his plans.

Someone he can care for. This is not a matter of size or personality, and while Jack knows you'll always have his back, it's very important for him to feel like he's also protecting you. Some of it does stem from his view on relationships, but he also likes caring for people. Let him brush your hair after he grooms his fur, or let him reach for that one book you need that's just out if reach.

Ruggie'a ideal type would be...

Someone who saves leftovers for him. This is kind of obvious: Ruggie has some bad food anxiety, because he grew up not really knowing when his next meal would be. Someone who helps him soothe some of that anxiety will make his heart feel fluttery.

Someone that sticks with him through thick and thin. Spotted hyenas stick together in clans and have a very strict hyerarchy. However, Ruggie is also an opportunist, and you can't expect him to always stand by your side if you don't do the same. Unwavering loyalty has to be at the base of your relationship no matter what, and don't let it falter once you reach that point.

Someone who doesn't let him rely too much on his bad habits. And by that I mean mostly his pickpocketing habits. Yeah, you can't really stop him from stealing from Leona's wallet whenever he gets ahold of it, but he'll remember you made him a sweather! You gifted him a blanket! You invited him over for dinner! Okay, maybe he has himself somewhat covered already, shyehehehehe.

Someone who loves unconditionally. Everytime you show him affection without really expecting anything in return, his mind goes back to the days when he was little, and his grams told him stories about love that conquered all, love that made everything easier. He never thought of himself as worthy of that type of love.... But with you in his arms and head on his chest, then maybe... just maybe...

MALLEUS

Okay, the real question is: what is Malleus NOT doing to gain your love? This dude will literally try anything and everything he can to show you he loves you.

Well, maybe he's not going to directly say "I love you and I want to be with you forever" just yet. He doesn't want to scare you away. So he's going to go for a lighter attack.

He'll invite you to his parties, to his homeland, invite you to go on walks/ruin exploring, and send you thoughtful letters (as he already does for Yuu in the game lmao)

He's also going to show up in places you wouldn't expect him to be, which tended to be wherever you were lol. While he'll look for more ways to spend more time with you, he also wants to help you with whatever task you have at hand.

As for words, he'd probably often compliment you and mention how much he admires you. And if you had low self-esteem? He would do so all the more. He'd be shocked if you had low self-esteem. He just couldn't understand it and he wouldn't stop until he got you to believe him. All his words would be genuine and true, he wouldn't flatter you falsely. He isn't the type. He simply would want you to see yourself the way he sees you- so beautiful and so worthy of love.

He will try to make his affections known as much as he can. He wants everyone to know that his eyes are set on you, so he's not going to want to be discreet about it.

AZUL

Another massive simp right here! If Azul ever fell for you, he'd fall hard. I honestly think Azul would be second to Malleus on the simp scale LMAO.

However, unlike Malleus, he'd try to be more discreet about it and would try to put on a cool front despite the great ardor he's feeling for you inside.

Azul would use his acquired knowledge of you to his advantage, figuring out all of your likes, dislikes, preferences, and would make sure to act accordingly to them. (nevertheless, he'll still try to learn even more about you and your subtleties face to face. It was more pleasant that way)

The Mostro lounge suddenly came up with a specialty dish based on your favorite food? That's great! That means you can come on over there more often.

Are you having difficulty studying for a certain subject? You're in luck! Turns out that he's got some helpful study notes laying around and he's willing to give them to you. He'll even offer to help you study, saying that it's just a show of gratitude for being a loyal customer at the Mostro Lounge.

And your favorite color? Well that so happens to be the color of the napkins/tablecloths at the Lounge during the month of your birthday.

He's gonna try to act slick but it would be plain to see that he's in love with you. It would be especially obvious to Jade and Floyd as they see how Azul treats you differently. He's doing all these favors and little things for you without any practical benefit. Why?

If confronted about it by Jade or Floyd, he'll say that he simply felt like doing it "out of the goodness of his heart", or that the tablecloths needed changing anyway, or some other excuse. He'll honestly act like such a tsundere.

But if YOU confront him about it- now that's a different case. As always, he'll try to act all cool and suave, but if you thank him with the warmest smile on your face or even hug him, he'll melt and get all red.

On the other hand, if you tell him that you're suspicious of him, he'll be a little hurt that you think that he has some bad ulterior motive behind his actions (though, in his head he will admit that he couldn't blame you)

All he wants is to see you face all aglow when you see what he's doing for you. Pay him back with your happiness and that'd be enough for him (for now)

LEONA

He'll hang around you very often. He would think that his prsence is enough to get you to fall for him LOL 💀

Nah but in all seriousness, if Leona loved you, he'd show it through his patience and tolerance for you. We know this guy doesn't like being bothered or going through any trouble, but he'd make an exception even if you were the "troublesome thing"

He'll allow you to bother him to an extent far greater than he'd allow others.

He'll listen to you yap away about your day, any complaints that you have, anything you're interested in, he'll listen to it all while closing his eyes. You might think he's sleeping, but I can assure you he's not. He's taking in all of your words and storing them in his head. He's learning more about you this way while he can sit back and relax (quite literally). He also enjoys simply hearing your voice. It relaxes him. It's when you stop talking that he'll finally open his eyes and see what's gotten you distracted.

He will also tolerate your tomfoolery. Heck, if it interests him enough and it isn't too much of a bother, he'll join you. He will aid you in your plans to disturb the peace and you two would be absolute menaces to the other students of NRC hehe #partnersincrime

He'll let you run your fingers through his mane and let your touch his ears as much as you want. While you're enjoying the softness and fluffiness of it, he'll also be relaxed by it as well. But be gentle with his ears, they're sensitive! If you rub or scratch a certain spot, you just might hear a soft purr from him. He'll deny that you ever heard such a thing though, teehee 🤭

It's only after third period that you remember it's Valentines day once again. After everything had occurred, the letter and gift had totally slipped your mind. At your desk, you find a handful of dandelions with a note tied to it. 

As an apology and because he forced me too, hehe.

Suddenly, it all makes sense. "That guy from earlier! He must've sent these to distract us and pre-planned to steal the sandwiches from us!" You blurt out. "What?" Deuce looks confused. "Yeah, what?" Ace raises an eyebrow. 

"Henchman, I think you're being stupid dazo." Grim shrugs. "I'm not! Look, it totally makes sense! Everything goes wrong and then I get flowers and a card apologizing!" You explain quickly. 

"Yeah, but there's no way that guy could've guessed we would get the sandwiches unless…" Deuce stops, lowering his voice to a whisper, "Unless he was eavesdropping."

•Azul is also someone who reports these kids to Crowley and gets them kicked out of the school. He understands bullying all too well due to going through it himself and he’d be damned if he sat back and watched it happen.

•He creates a potion that's like a cream to help heal your injuries at an accelerating rate. Of course you need to do nothing in return for him for this cream, think of it as your loving boyfriend helping you get better. 

•If it makes you feel better about your looks or your weight, Azul will go out of his comfort zone and crack open the picture book of him as a child. Once again, he knows how this feels and he wants you to know you are not alone in this struggle.

•Azul definitely pampers you in his own way. He takes care of your homework, makes you food, and hell if you want to see his mer form he's all too happy to let you. For the week you're getting better, if you ask he'll lay off his work for you too for a bit.

•In The end it's Jamil that's correctly tending  to your bloodied knuckles and the bruises and scratches on your body while Kalim grabs you some of the soup Jamil had cooked for dinner. After dinner Kalim presents you with desserts before diving head first into your chest to cuddle you.

•When hearing that Crowley wasn't going to kick out the students that bullied you, that's when things got serious. Kalim, with the help of another dorm head (Azul) Confronted the mage.

•It ended smoothly when they (Mostly Azul), had blackmailed the Headmage to the point where he had no other option but to expel the students. That or be outed on magicam about how horrible of a principal he was.

•Kalim throws a party for you at the end of it all. A “Congratulations on getting rid of your bullies party.” What a kicker.

-Vil Schoenheit-

•Someone hurt his little spuddling??

•Oh, This means war.

•Don't you worry, (Name), Rook will deal and dispose of those poor insignificant worms. Vil busies himself tending to your cuts and bruises, Blowing on the anti-peroxide he’d dripped onto the cuts to disinfect them.

•Ngl, Vil curses those peasants. Every day for the next three weeks they'll be waking up consistently throughout the night unable to get the slightest bit of rest. 

•Vil doesn’t pamper you as much as Kalim or Azul would but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t pamper you. Vil gives you gentle massages and checks up on you in between classes, making sure they don’t mess with you again. He gives you lotion and creams, and he does face masks with you. 

•Obviously those bullies didn’t have any style, because to Vil you drip looks just as much as you seem to drip food crumbs everywhere you go. Though, he doesn’t mind the mess in the end, (As much as he seems to.)

•He also has Rook secretly trail after you when he’s not around, just in case something happens again. Vil likes to be in control of the situation.

-Idia Shroud-

•This man has a set of rules. And those rules are to avoid direct confrontation by all means necessary, and to stay cooped up in his room for as long as humanly possible. In none of those rules was Idia prepared to deal with bullies. Much less bullies that are bullying his s/o.

 •When you come into his room with Ortho following you in with bandages and neosporin, he was shocked. “(N-Name) What happened!?” 

•Bullies- Something he was eerily familiar with. Of course, he won’t be addressing them directly, though hacking their devices and uploading a virus is a wonderful option. A wonderful option he follows out with.

•Idia also leaves Crowley a… less than family friendly email, along with a video of the evidence of you being harassed and being hit first. Crowley can’t pin anything on you for punching your bullies- since yours was in self defense.

•Idia games with you sitting in his lap. While making sure you had plenty of snacks and drinks, he also made sure you were getting an adequate amount of sleep and your injuries were tended too before anything else. It would be inconvenient if the cuts were to get infected.

•He forces you to do online schooling in his room with him for the week while Crowley straightens out this issue.

•Idia is happy with the extra time you both get together, all while tending to you during it. Of course, that doesn't mean he’ll stop gaming for you either.

-Malleus Draconia-

•Those bullies dared to speak bad about his s/o? More so they Touched you? Ohhhh this does not fly with Malleus.

•He doesn’t understand how such imbeciles could even dare to look in your direction. They do know you're dating one of the five most powerful mages known in history, correct?  

•Lilia needed to stop him from murdering those scoundrels, so instead, Malleus has them arrested. Yep, you heard that correctly. They were arrested. Malleus simply heals your wounds with the snap of his fingers. 

•He treats you like a princess. You get what you want and exactly what you want the moment you want it. He pampers you like he's the king of pampering. Only him and Lilia get to tend to any wounds you have.

•If you want, he will have Lilia teach you some things about self defense.

•Please lay with him and give him some nice snuggles. He’ll bring out his tail and wrap the appendage around you while you cuddle up to each other. Doesn’t mind if you hold or feel up his horns either. He’s all yours for the taking.

•Malleus will prepare you a fancy bath with petals, wine and lit candles to help relax and soothe you. This man will do anything for you, even if that's running across the world for you.

•Malleus praises you to be brave enough to punch and fight back against your harassers every day. It's something he wants you to feel proud about and know that he’s proud of you for doing so as well.

Birthday Cake (Malleus Draconia)

There's actually a tradition about birthday cakes back where the Prefect comes from.

On one hand, he’s really happy that he got invited to something, and by the person he loves the most no less. On the other hand, he’s a bit upset that she’s making an event on his birthday and depriving him of a nice outing to look at the gargoyles and celebrate. Sure, she sent him a very cute letter to wish him a good birthday together with the invitation for the event, but other than that, he has not seen her during the day. Not even once.

Malleus spent the entire day stirring a complicated mix of feelings inside his gut.

Lilia enjoyed teasing him for “pouting” far too much.

There’s still a mischievous smile on his mentor’s face as they walk to Ramshackle after classes. Silver looks uncharacteristically watchful—which is something coming from the ever so sharp knight in training—, but there’s no tension on his shoulders, no sign of threat anywhere. Sebek is, for the lack of a better word, jittery, and has barely directed a word to Malleus after he wished him a great birthday in the morning. While being known for not “having any chill”—the Prefect’s words—, today Sebek seems even more agitated than usual.

Malleus isn’t sure what to think about that.

Their odd behavior doesn’t get better as they approach the old dorm’s door, much to his confusion. Ramshackle is widely known for being the most peaceful place in Night Raven College, as it houses the ever so kind Prefect, whose kindness never falters whenever someone needs it. All students know that this is truly neutral ground, and that if they think it wise to defy the magicless student, they’ll be met with the fury of all seven Housewardens.

So how come these two are so nervous?

“Did… something happen?” he asks, finally, tired of their antics and still upset with the lack of his Child of Man on the day that is supposed to be his.

“No, something is about to happen!” Lilia laughs, floating above the ground like a giddy bat. “Go on, open the door!”

Malleus wants to ask, but he figures none will tell him. Not when even Sebek, who’s always tripping in his words to tell Malleus the smallest details of, well, everything, hasn’t said anything yet. Oh, well. If Lilia knows what’s going on, it can’t be too bad.

So he opens the doors.

And steps back, startled.

“SURPRISE!”

Standing there, with a big smile and a bigger glittery “happy birthday, Malleus” plaque, is his beloved Child of Man. She beams at him, shaking the paper a bit before throwing it over her shoulder so she can throw her arms around his torso and hug him tight. Behind her is a large group of people, from all Houses, all wearing party hats and holding confetti poppers.

“... what?”

A quick flash of light brings him back to his senses just in time to see Cater Diamond dive behind Trey Clover in between giggles. Malleus blinks a few times before a soft chuckle leaves his lips, arms finally moving to hug his dear Prefect.

He has heard of surprise parties, and Lilia has thrown a few over the decades he’s been alive, but he has never seen one like this.

“... thank you, this is the best birthday party I’ve ever had.”

“Wait until you see the cake!” (Y/N) grins up at him, leaving his embrace—much to his displeasure—only to take his hands in hers. “I worked really hard on it with Trey!”

The inside of the dorm is all decorated in black, white and Diasomnia green, with balloons and ribbons and “happy birthday” banners. There’s a lot of people, including people Malleus can’t believe are here—how in the world did she convince Leona Kingscholar and Idia Shroud to come will be forever beyond him. He allows her to pull him to the table where a beautiful two tier cake sits. The base is a dark gray that reminds him of a castle, and around the top tier is curled a very familiar dragon. On top of it sits a very beautiful gargoyle candle.

“I asked Crewel to enchant the dragon so it won’t go bad,” the Prefect explains as he takes in the cake, standing near his chair.

“I have no words to show how happy I am right now.”

“Ugh, stop your melodrama and get on with it,” that’s definitely Leona Kingscholar, who’s thrown on some couch like a ragdoll.

(Y/N) beams—she actually bounces a little in place—, asking someone to turn off the lights and light the gargoyle candle. Malleus knows this tradition, and claps along as everyone sings the birthday song. Some voices are louder and more enthusiastic than others, but none of them matter when his dear Child of Man is right by his side, allowing him to hear her clearly. Her cheers are the only one he hears when he blows the candle, the air leaving his lungs carrying his wish to become closer to the darling girl.

“Who is the first slice for?” the Prefect asks once the lights go back on, already taking off the candle and the dragon so the cake can be cut.

“The first slice?”

“Where I came from, you give the first slice of your birthday cake to the person you love the most!”

“Then it is yours.”

The best part of this birthday, as Malleus will remember for the rest of his long life, is the heavy blush that covers her cheeks and the blinding smile she offers him as she eats the first slice of his birthday cake.

From now on, all of his birthdays will have cake, so he can keep giving the first slice to his most loved.

Twisted Wonderland Characters and Their Embarrassing Secrets

Riddle: He has mock unbirthday parties in his room with his stuffed animals to destress. Only Trey and Cater know about this because they were invited a couple of times.

Ace: He picks his nose.

Leona: He likes playing with laser pointers. This is canon I'm Disney guys.

Ruggie: He sometimes takes some of Leona's food and things when he thinks he's not looking. (Leona actually knows but he doesn't really care)

Jack: He likes it when people praise him but would try really hard to hide it.

Octavinelle

Azul: Has a little stash of trinkets and coins he thinks are interesting.

Jade: Looks for things that he knows Azul and Floyd would like when he's out in the mountains. He gives it to them saying that he doesn't want it and would like from them to take it off his hands.

Floyd: Talks in his sleep and would occasionally talk about how much he cares for Azul and Jade.

Scarabia

Kalim: He sings the alphabet song everytime he needs to remember what letter comes after what.

Jamil: He gives Kalim a good night kiss on the forehead as per Kalim's request. Makes sure the doors are locked when he does this so no one finds out.

Pomfiore

Vil: He has little performances when he's in the shower. Luckily he has his own bathroom which he sound proofed to make sure no one hears him.

Rook: He makes out with his pillow pretending it's Vil or Neige. Like, full tongue and everything. It's sorta gross.

Epel: He doesn't wear a shirt when it's hot because he's not good with the heat. Vil prevents him from going outside shirtless though.

Ignihyde

Idia: He sleeps with a body pillow. He doesn't do anything weird with it and, if he has one at all, the pillow cover is sfw, but he'd rather die than let anyone find it.

Ortho: He wants Idia to give him a piggy back ride but he doesn't wanna call Idia weak and make him sad.

Diasomnia

Malleus: He practices smiling in the mirror in hopes that he would look less intimidating to others.

Sebek: Once thought of referring to Malleus as his friend and never forgave himself since.

Grim: He likes it when the prefect pets him and kisses him on his forehead. He says he doesn't like it but he starts purring really loudly when he's petted.

Crowley: Spends some of the school money on stupid shit like rubber duckies or glitter pens.

Crewel: Gives Lucius little cat treats every once in a while.

Trein: Has little hats and outfits for Lucius.

Vargas: Is self conscious about his height. Like, I'm sorry this man must feel ashamed that there are teenagers who are significantly taller than him.

Sam: He occasionally gives students he likes discounts. Sometimes he'll give students things for free.

He makes a low, short guttural sound as he walks to the Botanical Garden, the only place where you and he would be at this hour. All of his footstep echoes throughout the garden as he steps on the garden path.

The huge lion beastman, Farena, who’s taller a few inches from Leona, has a bright and cheerful aura. The king must be a bright person but also an authoritative person.

Beside him, there’s a beautiful lioness beastwoman, a graceful and a gorgeous person, it could clearly tell everyone that she’s the queen of the country. They have a good combination for the leaders of the pride.

Seeing how carefree the little cub is, you could pick up he had inherited his father’s personality, they’re very similar. Like father, like son. Taking a seat beside Leona carefully, they start to ask you for your general information, that’s because they’re inquisitively about you.

When you take a glance at Leona in the middle of the conversation, he frowns and gives an artificial but polite and honest answer to his nephew. Probably… It’s because he’s in front of the queen, being scolded by her is the last thing he wants; thus, he needs to get along with his adorable nephew. Temporary.

The last question you get is the same as Cheka’s question, which makes Leona almost choke on the water while drinking. Farena, the king and Leona’s big brother, couldn’t help but burst out in laughter by his younger brother’s taken aback by the question.
