On one hand, Young Justice is kind of neglected by the actual superheroes that should be looking out for them in a lot of crucial ways and very much failed by the adults around them
But on the other hand Red Tornado straight up hosts a parent-teacher conference where their respective legal guardians all show up, barring Batman who’s in traffic so Nightwing fills in instead because Robin’s dad does not know he’s a vigilante which is objectively hilarious

Striking of the Clock
BrainDead or DeadTired idea.
During Tim's BruceQuest he uncovers hidden texts/tombs of a being that controls and watches over the Time Stream and Tim knows this being will have to be his best bet of finding Bruce while also trying to figure out on his own how to get Bruce out of the Time Stream as well.
However the being doesn't have a summoning sigil due to being an Ancient.
He does find the sigil for the Ghost King however, a being that borderlines into Ancients power territory and could in theory grant Tim an audience with the Time being if Tim plays his cards right.
In the end, Tim decides it was worth a shot. He convinces Ra's to 'help' him summon the Ghost King. Ra's wanting to see if such a being could be real and to see how far Tim is willing to go to bring Bruce back, allows League resources to be used.
It takes a few weeks, with Tim also making plans to undermine not just the Council of Spiders but Ra's as well, but eventually the time to summon the Ghost King comes.
Tim honestly was expecting the large eldritch like being that showed up, he just wasn't expecting the being to be basically a formed galaxy mixed with ice and the northern lights itself.
He also really wasn't expecting when he negotiated a deal with the Ghost King, and taken into a place called the Infinite Realms when they shook hands (Tam and Prue is also taken with him, he refused to leave them with Ra's), for the being to shrink down and turn into a white haired, green eyed teen around his age who starts flirting at him.
Nor was he expecting for another being, one that apparently is able to shift aging forms, and a grandfather clock in its chest to appear next to the teen and bonk the white haired teen with a staff and tell him to stop flirting with his future new apprentice....
Wait what?
-x-x-
Danny is rarely, very rarely summoned since taking the mantle of Ghost King. Due to being a new Ancient most old sigils that was once connected to Phantom (mostly teens from Amity tired summoning him a couple of times) no longer worked and the only ones that did were the ones he gave to his friends and family or the Ghost King ones (but again rare due to how rare texts/tombs to the Ghost King is written down)
So when he felt the pull of a summoning he made sure to go in his eldritch form, mostly to see if he could scare them or at least intimidate.
Honestly he was expecting the cult, given the fact they summoned a being known as the (freaking) Ghost King, maybe not them being assassins/ninjas but still a cult.
He wasn't expecting the cute, same age as him too, guy in the room.
(CW totally paused time for a second, gave Danny a file on who and why he was summoned, discussed getting Tim Drake out of Ra's hands (and maybe allowing CW to finally have his own future apprentice because Tim is a smarty smart whose been slowly able to figure out the freaking Time Stream itself.), and then started the timeline again)
Danny decided, after striking a deal, that since he's going to be working with Tim, aka Red Robin (who Danny found out used to be Robin! From Gotham), from now on he might as well shoot his shot and flirt with him and-
"OUCH, CW REALLY?!"
"Stop flirting with my new apprentice for now My King, we have work to do."

dessie's official list of which robins can and can't say fuck
stephenie brown gets to bc she gets mischaracterized as a peppy teenager and she should be allowed to call someone a stupid motherfucker to their face
tim drake. he was going to go in first place but he loses some points for his fuckass og red robin costume. i feel like he hasn't slept in 3-7 business days at any given time and does a lot of screaming into pillows.
dick grayson. mfker has been carrying the hero community for so long but he's slightly nicer than tim so he goes here. i feel like he has the ability to use other words and make it hurt more.
jason todd says it enough already he doesn't need extra rights
damien actively does not get to say it.

Damian, snotty : I'm not a baby!
Jason, frowning : Okay, but take your medicine.
Damian, crossed arms in tantrum : No! It isn't the gummy bears version!
Jason, bemused : What the hell?!
Jason, angry shouting out : Grayson! I told you specifically to get the gummy version! Go back to the pharmacy and change it, you idiot!

Adore batfamily batdad Batman but also Robin-centric DC adaptions that paint Batman as a bad father are very personal to me
Bc it is kinda fucked up actually to take a broken child and teach them to use their emotions as a weapon knowing all you wanted when you were a broken child was for your parents to be there and that all that rage never made up for the fact that they weren’t

Bruce: Tim, you’re saying--he killed Abattoir? And all this--why didn’t you tell me? I thought I left things in capable hands. But this--
Tim: You couldn’t have done anything. And then you started talking about retiring--
Bruce: I had to know. I left you here as my conscience, Tim. You were supposed to handle any problems.
Tim: But I’m not you. I tried going up against him once and he nearly killed me.

I'm bored. Does anybody wanna have a toxic internet fight where we argue about some stupid topic and our only proof is poorly photoshopped comic panels?

Fanfic idea: Nocturna, after disappearing during the crisis, wakes up to find herself in the current universe, where she spots the Red Hood, and can't help but compare him to the blood night sky she last saw, and oddly, the young Robin whom she had tried to adopt

I take your ask and do an Uno reverse on you, my friend!!!! I'm really curious now. What issue would you choose to introduce someone to Damian?
if I were to go with a totally Damian-centric comic I would recommend Robin: Son of Batman #6. Absolutely one of my ALL TIME favorite Damian comics but that issue specifically is soooo good.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
like just these TWO panels say SO much about him and his situation and his feelings about it. And then when Goliath gives him a lil kiss instead of showing fear or fighting back and Damian just breaks down crying. God.... it's so good...
Tumblr media
It also shows he's clever. Like he knows exactly how to spin this story to get what he wants. And there is some good Talia and Damian interactions (rare).
Tumblr media
Ultimately I think this comic does a great job at showing that Damian isn't (and never has been) a heartless-murder-child (as so many ppl in the fandom love to say 🥴). Damian has depth and feelings and ultimately he's just a kid trying to do his best at any given moment.

Thinking about a forever teen Danny interacting with the batfam.. again lmao
[Pt 2 here]
The first time Danny interacted with a Bat was when he was squatting in what he assumed was an abandoned apartment in crime alley. Spoiler alert; it wasn't abandoned! It was, in fact, Red Hood's safe house.
Danny had been napping on the "surprisingly nice" bed, (The bed being so nice should have tipped him off, but he was so tired, damnit.) when Red Hood enters the room, startling Danny awake. They stare at each other for a minute, since neither expected to see another person there. Danny breaks the moment by diving off the bed, snatching up his backpack, and launching himself out the window he had crawled in from. Danny ignores the cussing and calling for him to wait.
Danny ain't no fool. Just because the world seems to be mostly accepting of metas and aliens, doesn't mean they're accepting of him. They haven't repealed the Ecto-Acts in the last 30 years. He refuses to be a lab rat for some shady government because a "hero" wants to "save" him. He's older than most of these fuckers in spandex, and is technically a king, so they got no authority over him.
"Kid! Come back!" Red Hood is keeping up rather well, but not well enough.
"Eat shit!" Danny shouts back before using his small size to squeeze into a space between 2 run down buildings that can't even count as an alley. Red Hood can't fit by a long shot, so he grapples to the roof, probably hoping to cut Danny off. Unfortunately for Red Hood, Danny isn't going that way or back. No, there's a secret passage entrance Danny throws himself through.
He doesn't like being down there. Too many undead roam the halls and can sense him. He's not sure how to help them and currently can't access the realms to ask Frostbite, so he just gives them some of his ectoplasum and tries to get out before their "Masters" notice him. He feels guilty every time.
But all in all, his first accidental Bat meeting was less than 10 minutes.
--
The second Bat he "meets" is the stabby new Robin. Danny figured crime alley was a bust, so he'd try one of the nicer areas to not cross paths with Red Hood. Unfortunately, the shady building he decided to sleep in the rafters of got invaded by the Bats a few days later. He's not sure who else was there, but Robin ended up in the same rafters.
They stare at each other for a minute, just taking in the other person who's not supposed to be in these rafters. Robin is clearly sneaking in to bust the owners, and Danny looks like some scruffy homeless kid that was just sleeping.
"What are you doing here?" Robin whispers with a scowl.
"I was sleeping." Danny scowls right back.
"Why are you sleeping here?"
"What does it look like? Not all of us have sugar daddies, bird boy."
Was that mean? Yes. Should he act like the 44 year old he technically is? Yeah, but he's frozen at 14. He can be a brat. No one can stop him. And also, this is the second time a Bat has woken him up from a nap, the first time was only a week ago. He's not feeling very mature.
Robin grits his teeth before his com goes off, distracting him, and Danny takes advantage of that, grabs his shit and phases through the wall into the next building.
--
The third time he meets a Bat is truly his undoing. He got stabbed in front of Nightwing during an attempted mugging. He hates the universe and totally blames Clockwork.
Danny was minding his own business when he got dragged into an alley by 3 drunk men. They're holding knives and trying their best to intimate him.
"Give us all your money."
"Do I look like I have money?" Danny snarks, waving a hand in a "look at me" way. Which, yeah, he's pulling off the homeless kid look really well with how dirty and worn out his clothes. No one in their right mind would look at him and think he has money.
"Hm. Well, if you don't have money, I can think of something else you can give us."
"Yeah, please struggle. It makes it more fun." Well, shit, Danny was not expecting to be grabbed by pedos. Danny bare gets to think about how it'll be good stress relief to break all the bones in their limbs before a tall shadowy figure drops from the roof and lands on the attacker farthest from him. The landing breaks the pedo's leg, his screamings about it are cut off by a sharp punch to the face.
When the shadowy figure straightens and is revealed to be Nightwing, pedo #2 charges him. Between how poorly it goes for him and all the puns and quips Nightwing is making, Danny can't help the giggles that slips out.
"You think this is funny, brat??" Pedo #3 shouts at him.
"Yeah. It's hilarious." Danny maliciously grins at him.
"Why you, just die, whore." And before Danny can question how HE's a whore, he's been stabbed. And it's a pretty good stab if you want to kill someone. It's a jagged downward stab, it nicks his heart and completely fucks up one of his lungs, and the guy even goes the extra step of pulling the knife out. All in all. The perfect stab to kill someone.
Unfortunately for him, Danny isn't just someone. He's already mostly dead, which means while it hurts like a bitch and it's hard to breath, it won't kill him. It does suck he coughs up some blood before he turns off his need to breathe.
Danny ignores the cussing and sounds of Nightwing breaking bones, probably panicking over just seeing "a kid get murdered". And unfortunately, no breathing means no talking in this form. So the poor guy can't be verbally told Danny's fine, and to stop freaking out. Good thing saying something isn't always needed.
Danny lets his eyes turn a glowing bright green before silently stepping to his would-be murderer.
"What?? What the fuck??" Pedo #3 screeches. Danny gives him a blood filled smile before reaching up, grabbing the wrist of the hand holding the knife. He breaks the guy's arm in less than a second, before slamming him into the disgusting alley ground and proceeds to break both of his legs. The way Danny crashed the bones in these limbs means the guy is never going to have full mobility again, but Danny can't even pretend to care. The man targeted what looked like a scrawny 14 year old homeless kid to rape and murder. If anything, Danny is letting him off easy.
"K-kid? Are you okay? What am I saying? Of course not." Nightwing frets and tries to get closer, but Danny is tired of... well everything, so he just turns and books it out of the alley. Danny ignores Nightwing's frantic shouting as he twists and turns out of the man's sight long enough to pull up his invisibility without outing the power. He watches a panicked Nightwing run by before tapping into his flight and taking off to the nearest graveyard. Sitting in the ambient ectoplasum there while drinking what he has left in his thermos will speed up his healing.
He'd so leave this shithole of a city if he could. But Lady Gotham won't let him go and he's positive Clockwork is working with her to keep him there. He doesn't know what they're planning, but he hates it already.
---
After the stabbing, Nightwing and the other two must have spilled about him, because he's suddenly dodging Bats everywhere he goes. He starts developing even worse paranoia because they just won't take a hint.
Talking was a no go at first with his healing lung, but running away, swiping claws, biting, and throwing shit at them aren't exactly subtly "Leave Me The Fuck Alone!!" vibes. Once his lung is healed, you can add in cussing, hissing, spitting, and verbally telling them to fuck off. None of it works. It fact, Danny thinks they like the challenge, which is annoying, but slowly becoming amusing.
Though, even just the idea of him starting to enjoy something means the universe has to throw a curve ball. And this one takes the form of a scarecrow attack.
So admittedly, Danny had no idea what fear toxin would do to him, but Joker's toxins didn't do anything to him, so he thought it'd be the same shit. That was a stupid mistake on his part.
He didn't bother holding his breath when helping the Panicked Bats get civilians out of the attack radius. Any mask that was given to him was given to a civilian before he passed them off to someone with an antidote.
But to be fair, the effects of his mistake doesn't hit him til after the fight is over and the civilians are taken care of. It starts with his paranoia raising. He's suddenly eyeing the people and buildings around him. He can FEEL his parents' gaze on him, even though he knows that's impossible, they died because the portal finally blew up and took them and half the town with it. No one who died as humans from it became ghosts, and the people who were already ghosts died a second time. The only reason Danny and Tucker weren't there was because they were gift shopping for Jazz on the other side of town while Sam distracted her. It was one of the worst days of his life. It's tied with the day his parents vivisecting his ghost half and the day the GIW vivisected Vlad and him, and Vlad just straight up died from it in front of him.
That's relevant because Danny starts hallucinating a half melted Sam and Jazz (there were no bodies left behind, but his brain likes to torment him), he can't understand what they're trying to say to him, but there's the unmistakable sound of an ectoblaster echoing in his ear behind him and he... just bolts. The agents that vivisected him launch themselves at him (he doesn't process the "agents" look exactly the same as when he last saw them 24 years ago), but Danny is determined to NEVER be caught again.
He freezes when melted versions of his parents, wearing maniac grins and holding sparking weapons, cut him off. The moment they so much as twitch towards him, he bolts straight through a building using his intangibility.
A tiny part of his brain is trying to reason with him. There's no way anything he's seeing is real. This is what fear toxin is known to do. Stop and evaluate the situation!
But it's drownt out by the fear. And, ancients, is there a lot of fear. It suffocates his logical thoughts and makes him forget how to properly use his powers to escape.
He finds out later, it took the Bats 2 hours to get close enough to give him the antidote and another hour for it to kick in. They honestly thought it didn't work at first, because just like the toxin, the antidote took it's sweet time to work on him.
He crashed out hard once it did, though. Like, he fell unconscious and stopped breathing. It terrified the Bats and took them a minute to realize he's not actually dead. Well, full dead.
He finds out eventually that they originally thought he was a meta, but after all the weirdness he accidentally showed during the cat and mouse chase, they started to wonder if he was an alien. But the whole fear toxin incident convince them he escaped from some shady organization that experimented on him (not untrue) and killed his family. There's still a bet on if he's an alien or not, and that being why he was targeted.
Which is a fair conclusion, between his powers that seemingly make no sense and all his scars from fighting and being experimented on by both his parents And a shady government agency. It's especially fair after he has a major freak out coming to in the Batcave's med bay. The smells and medical equipment setting him off into a massive panic attack that leaves him behaving like a feral cat. He manages to squeeze himself into the small space between the top of the cabinets and the ceiling and growls at anyone so much as peeking into the room.
"Hey, kid. You're alright. You're safe." Nightwing tries and gets hissed at. He'd been trying for about 10 minutes to get him to come down. "Um, guys, maybe someone else should try. This isn't working. I don't think he likes me at all."
Black Bat steps into the room at his plea and waves Nightwing away. Once he's out of the room, she drops to the floor. The move confuses Danny enough to stop growling at her. He stares wide-eyed at her as she just lays full starfish on the floor.
"What are you doing?" He finally asks after 3 full minutes of silently staring at her.
"Laying."
"I see that, but why?"
"You're scared. I'm showing I'm not a threat." Black Bat sounds amused, but not malicious. Danny stares at her for another 2 minutes without blinking once.
"Why am I here?"
"You're scared. We want to help." She makes it sound simple.
"You can't." Danny lets bitterness leak into his voice.
"Why?"
"I'm not human anymore. You can't "help" me."
"I think we can." Danny starts growling again, so she adds. "We have beds and food and can keep whoever is hunting you away."
He pauses his growling again. "You don't even know who I am."
"You're sad, and hurt, and help others before yourself. You're good." Danny frowns at that.
"You're weird." He states before climbing down and sitting near her. She doesn't move a muscle. "You can't help me without getting in trouble with the government."
"Hm?"
"Yeah, I'm not considered a person because of the Anti-Ecto Acts. Anything that uses or needs ectoplasum to survive is considered non-sentient and is to be turned over for experimentation and termination. And anyone caught helping us can be arrested for treason." Danny explains. "I barely escaped when I got caught. My godfather didn't. I hated him. He was mean, controlling, and creepy, but I didn't want him to die."
"I'm sorry."
"My problems are not your problems."
"I disagree." Danny blinks at her, his gaze sharpening when she starts moving her arm farthest from him. She moves slowly, reaching up and hooking her fingers under her mask.
"Wait!" Danny leans forward a hair as if he was about to physically grab her hand to stop her, but jerks himself back. He sounds small when he speaks again. "Are-are you sure?"
"Yes."
"Why??"
"Trust you."
"But WHY? You don't know me."
"I know enough." Is all she says before pulling her mask off. He slams his eyes shut and claps his hands over them for good measure.
"No, you don't!!" He hears her move, sitting up, before gentle hands pull his hands away.
"Yes, I do." She says sweetly. "Look."
Danny peeks at her. She has a bittersweet look on her face that brightens when she sees Danny looking. She's still gently holding his hands, loose enough he can pull away if he truly wants to.
"I'm not as young as I look." She tilts her head at the seemingly random comment. "I'm not actually 14. Not anymore. I'm stuck at when I died."
He hears her, and their eavesdroppers, gasp. It's the first time he's talked about it. But something tells him to tell her (them, if he's acknowledging the eavesdropping Bats).
"My parents were mad scientists that wouldn't be out of place in your rouges gallery." He stares at his and Black Bat's hands. "They were obsessed with ghosts and made a portal to the infinite realm, where "ghosts" live. They failed twice. Once in college, my godfather was hospitalized from the attempt, and the second time they failed, I accidentally turned it while being stupid with friends and died. They didn't notice, too happy their portal was suddenly working... That was 30 years ago."
There's a choking noise from the eavesdroppers.
"If I stay, you're going to be stuck with a freaky kid that doesn't age and can't be killed by the usual methods and has so much PTSD, like a ridiculous amount of PTSD. Are you sure you want to deal with that?"
"Yes." Black Bat doesn't even hesitate. Danny nearly gives himself whiplash from how quickly he looks up at her face. "Can't scare us away."
"It should. I don't even count as human."
"So?"
""So"???"
"Yes. Why should I care?"
"Why should-??? Why wouldn't you???"
"Kid." An unmasked Red Hood stands in the doorway. "This family is full of freaks and mental illness. You'll fit right in."
The statement strikes a nerve, overwhelming him, but Danny doesn't understand what's happening at first, why his lips are trembling, his face feels warm, and his eyes sting. He hasn't felt this sensation in years. But whatever look on his face makes the infamous Red Hood panic.
"Wait! Kid! Don't cry!"
It suddenly clicks with Danny. He's about to cry. But understanding what is happening, doesn't stop it from happening. Fat tears start sliding down his face.
"Dickie! What do I do?? I accidentally made him cry!! You're better wi-" Red Hood cuts himself off when Danny starts laughing. Laughing at how panicked a crimelord is at tears. Laughing at crying. Laughing at the whole absurd situation.
"It's okay." Black Bat says softly. Whether it's to Danny or the panicky Bat is lost to Danny. But no one says anything else til Danny's tears stop and laughter dies down.
"I was Phantom, ya know?" And he hears several people choke. After he was forcibly retired, this ghost half became known as "The First Hero" in a lot of circles. The GIW repressed the fact he was a ghost when people outside of Amity Park found out about the child hero, they didn't want the public angry with them for making him disappear. It didn't work, Tucker leaked everything he could find. Danny doesn't blame him for that. Tucker thinks he's completely dead since the GIW didn't want to admit they lost him and declared him to have Ended in those files. Danny hasn't told him he's "alive" either. Danny can't bring himself to drag Tucker back into the mess that is his life, can't bring himself to contact the man who has made something of his life, has a partner and kids, has mourned and moved on. He just can't do it. "But before I was Phantom, I was Danny Fenton. But now... I'm just Danny."
"Welcome to the family, Danny!" An unmasked Nightwing cheers.
"I thought Phantom had white hair?" Someone says just outside the room. Danny mischievously leans towards Black Bat.
"Close your eyes. This is going to be bright." He whispers. She smiles gamely and closes her eyes. He gets to hear the others yelp when he lets his transformation take over, essentially flashbanging everyone, but Black Bat.
"Wha..?"
"Hair white enough for you?" Danny says, grinning with too many teeth, that are a little too sharp. Black Bat pats the hand she's still holding.
"Pretty." She smiles delighted at him and he feels his face flush bright green.
"Oh! Um.. Thanks?" He takes a deep breath and realizes something. "Now you know my name, so who the hell are all of you?"
"You don't recognize us?"
"No. Am I supposed to?"
"Eh, most people do." Nightwing shrugs.
"Well, I haven't been able to keep up with much in the public zeitgeist. I just periodically check if it's still legal to kill me. Sadly, the answer is "yes" every time, so meh."
"We'll be taking care of that." Red Robin informs him while stepping into the room and frantically typing on a tablet. "I can't believe these stupid things still exist. The Green Lanterns and Justice League Dark are going to have the biggest fit when they see these. The rest of the JL will help dismantle these too. I'll personally get them to destroy these vile laws."
"Oh.. Thanks, I guess. It'll be nice to not be hunted anymore."
"I imagine."
"Okay! Introductions!" Nightwing gets them all back on topic. "I'm Dick Grayson! Batman is Bruce Wayne. Robin is Damian Wayne."
"Tim Drake."
"Cassandra Cain. But call me Cass."
"Jason Todd."
"Wait, wait, wait. I recognize your name! Didn't you- oh, wait, that's insensitive..."
"It's fine. I did, in fact, die, but I got better. We can start a club of undead. We can invite Spoiler. She technically died, too."
"Literally everyone here, besides me has died, Jason." Tim says, not looking away from the tablet.
"Yeah, but Steph is the only one I'd invite. She knows how to have fun."
"Little wing!" Dick whines.
"Timber can be an honorary member, since he's dead inside, a fun chaos gremlin, and ain't a narc."
"Thanks." Tim says dryly while Dick dramatically cries. Cass giggles.
And Danny? He's tired of running. He wants to be able to be the child he's stuck as while getting respect over his knowledge. He wants to be a vigilante and help people again. He wants to finally have a safe place to sleep.
So he decides to give these weirdos a chance.

Goodbye World
BatFam Yan! × neglected Magic Girl! Reader
《Platonic!》
Note:English is not my first language, sorry if there is any translation error / M.list
Pt: 1 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You were going to die
You were going to die this way, alone and without anyone ever knowing of your existence, what a pathetic way to die
The magic had ended, it was only a matter of minutes before you became a witch you knew that the transformation was going to be painful and in a way you believed that you deserved this fate
You were the one who agreed to become a magical girl it is your fault, if your 14 year old self had known that this was the end maybe she would have rejected you
Now you were here, about to die, with no friends or family who cared about you
Family
You didn't know if you could call them that, they never cared about you they always left you aside and acted as if you didn't exist maybe they only did it unconsciously and they really cared about you, you knew that deep down for all of them you were just a burden and useless, they didn't tell you directly but they made you feel it and you believed that they were right to feel that way
Your mother never He was someone important, a prostitute who was lucky enough to sleep with Bruce Wayne himself, you knew he didn't even consider you a daughter, just a mistake, one of his many mistakes
Your siblings weren't that different from your father either, each one hurt and wounded you in different ways
Richard, the oldest considered himself the best, the oldest brother, he always bragged that he cared so much about his siblings that he would do anything for them
He was good to everyone except you, you wanted to believe that he cared about you but you knew it was a lie, he lies, he always lies and you knew it very well, maybe at that time you were too young to understand some things, but you knew that none of them considered you family
You still remember when he promised to go with you to the zoo, it was 5 years ago when you first arrived at the mansion, but he never kept the promise he was only good to you for the first few weeks then it seemed like he didn't care, he was just being good to you out of courtesy
Jason, you didn't have much to say about him, almost You didn't interact and if you did, he would just insult you and tell you to get out of his way while pushing you. You had heard that he had been revived and that thanks to that he now has that personality. You never got to meet him in person since when you arrived at the mansion he had already died.
You tried to get along with him, but it never worked. You always got an insult or a bad look from him. You never understood why he didn't like you. You never said anything to him. You were always good to him and what you received in return were insults. It wasn't fair.
Although, to be honest, nothing in your miserable life was fair.
Tim, you met him when Bruce brought him to the mansion, he was a year older than you but for the first time you thought you could have a friend your age, how wrong you were
At first he was distant, you thought it was because of his parents' death that he behaved that way, you gave him his space and tried not to be too annoying
But time passed and he simply spent his time ignoring your presence, you didn't understand what you had done to make him ignore you, you were good to him and treated him like a brother, why was everyone so mean to you?
When you tried to talk to him he would just tell you that he was busy or that you were being annoying, you knew that he had a lot of activities for being Red Robin, but deep down in your soul, you longed for him to look at you just for 1 second, to realize that he exists and that you are not just the shadow of the family
Damian, you welcomed him with open arms and gave him your support, you thought that since you were blood brothers you would get along better
But the only thing you received was that his katana almost pierced your head, his arrogant attitude and his enormous ego was something remarkable
He never missed an opportunity to tell you how pathetic you were and that you would never be worthy of being his family, that you were a shame, a disgrace that hammered the Wayne name
In a way he was right, you were never anyone just the bastard daughter of Bruce Wayne
With Barbara, Steph and Cass you couldn't say much, Barbara was too busy with her affairs that she didn't even pay attention to you even though Sometimes she asked you how you were, but it was too weird
Stehp was neither good nor bad, she never treated you badly but she ignored you in some way, you never managed to talk to her directly, the only interactions you had with her were sidelong glances but nothing more
Cass, you hardly talk to her, but she was one of the few people who knew you existed, she was a person of few words although she seemed a little interested in you, but they never got to have a long conversation, just a few words like greetings or goodbyes
Your thoughts were cut off after hearing a voice, that damn voice...
"Do you have any last wishes, (name)?"
The cat spoke slowly approaching you, he was the one who had proposed you become a magical girl and you foolishly accepted, you thought that you finally had a true purpose that you could protect another like your family did, but you were too immature and stupid to realize the truth
"Yes...yes, I have one last wish."
You could barely speak, you felt like your body was heavy, it was like you had been stabbed in the back by more than 10 knives
"I hear you."
Kyubey looked too calm, and it was normal, they had already seen millions of magical girls die the same way
"I wish...I wish I could say goodbye to my father, please..."
That sounded more like a plea than a wish, in the back of your mind the only thing you wanted was for your dad to hug you, that this was all just a bad dream and tell you that everything was okay, but you knew it wasn't true
In a few seconds your vision went white and you were back in the halls of the mansion, in front of you was Bruce, walking backwards through the halls
You ran as fast as your legs could and when you reached him you gave him a big hug
Bruce He staggered at the sudden hug, he hadn't even noticed your presence or your steps
He turned his gaze and there you were, his daughter, hugging him tightly, as if you were afraid he would disappear
"(Name), is something wrong? I'm too busy to-"
Before he could speak again you quickly separated from him, you moved away a little before giving him a small smile
"I just wanted to hug a little, but anyway it's time to go"
You said as you stepped back a little
Leave? That word repeated itself in Bruce's head, what did you mean by leave? Before he could process everything you said something
"Oh, I almost forgot, take care of yourself okay? I don't like seeing you hurt"
You turned on your heels and then walked in the opposite direction and as you walked away and left a confused Bruce you shouted
"Hey dad! I love you..."
You said as you turned your head and gave him a sincere smile, you felt like tears were about to fall from your eyes
When you finished speaking you walked again and your presence disappeared the further you went down the halls of the mansion
_
That last interaction with you left him thinking, did you mean when you said "leave"? Even if he tried to concentrate on the cases in the Batcave, it was impossible, he needed answers and he knew where he could get them.
He walked through the halls of the mansion again while looking for your room, but he didn't remember it, how could he forget something so important? He's supposed to be your father but he doesn't even remember your age, the last time he saw you you were so little, a scared little girl who clung to his legs
How much had he missed? But this time it was going to be different
There would be room after room but they all looked the same, until he found one in particular, it was small and it was far from all the other main rooms
It was decorated in pink and lots of fluffy stuffed animals, but something was wrong
You weren't there, you were supposed to always spend your time in your room since you preferred to study from home, or that's what Alfred told him, but there was nothing it's like you had disappeared
He quickly went down the stairs, maybe you were in the kitchen
But to his surprise all the family members were there, except you...
"Has anyone seen (name)?"
Bruce said trying to stay calm, he had searched the entire mansion but there was no trace of you
"Why do you ask?"
Richard seemed indifferent to the question, he didn't understand why Bruce was so nervous
"I've been looking for her but she's nowhere to be found"
Bruce held on to the door, for some reason he felt too nervous, the thought that you might have left or that something might have happened to you made his stomach turn in a bad way
"You worry too much, Bruce, she's probably gone"
Jason spoke while leaning back in his chair, if he was honest he never paid much attention to you, he wondered what had happened to make Bruce so hysterical
"You don't understand, she never leaves the mansion"
Bruce decided to raise his voice, he didn't understand why out of nowhere everyone was so indifferent to you, something too hypocritical seeing from him since he was the one who ignored you first
"You worry too much B, I put a GPS on her a while ago, wherever she is I'll find her"
Tim spoke while writing on his phone computer, his confident tone disappeared as soon as he saw something on his laptop
"What's wrong, it seems like you've seen a ghost"
Jason joked looking at Tim
"I...I can't find her"
Tim didn't understand what was happening, it's like you've disappeared from the face of the earth as if nothing
"What do you mean you can't find her?"
Richard spoke now worried looking at Tim, how was it possible that you disappeared the GPS was too well hidden for you to take it out, something was happening and he didn't like it
"I can't find her I'm serious! It's like... like her existence had completely disappeared"
Tim tried to look for some sign of you but there was nothing, it's like you'd never existed
Everyone turned to look, missing? How was that possible, you never left the mansion and now as if nothing happened you disappeared
"Missing?"
Damian repeated angrily but at the same time, how dare you disappear like this? You are supposed to be his older sister, you should stay in the mansion with him, by his side, but you decided to leave like an idiot.
Somewhat hypocritical on his part since most of the time he spent his time saying that you would never be his sister, ironies of life, right?
Something inside them lit up, the thought of someone or something doing something to their sister made their blood boil
They were going to find you and they were going to make the person who took you away from them pay, you would never abandon them, right?
You always cared for them so much and loved them, you would never leave them alone like this, they are your family
It didn't matter if they had to get their hands dirty, they were going to bring you home no matter what, even if it meant having to put their morals aside
How stupid were they, they left you aside for so long and now they want you back?
What a shame that no one told them that they had lost you forever and that you were never coming back, never...

Honestly at this point starting to feel I've managed to miss Jason's characterization while he was alive because he really really does not and has never seemed especially angry to me, but the comics are trying to hammer it in so much, it's like all they mention is his anger and impulsiveness and his death but like??
I can never remember jaybin (<-is that what we call jason robin for short?) being like that, certainly not to the extent they're always saying, to me his anger wasn't that much, and it pretty much matched with batman's, it wasn't greater than anyone else's, and it just felt like general new hero anger, I cannot stress enough just how off all these flashbacks and talking about him feel wrong to me

Fic prompt #29
Dpxdc
Danny’s ghost form had changed a lot since he was 14. He had become the Ghost King—the ruler of gods, the eternal protector, the favorite of Time, the savior of the infinite, and so on. As a result, he ended up looking like a mix between a god, an angel, a fae, and an elf. Outwardly, he was stunning. Though he could still appear normal, he inevitably gave off an aura (not a visible one) of pure goodness—like a being who could do no harm.
This greatly helped his relationship with the people of Amity Park, but it made things incredibly awkward when he was summoned by the Justice League in his Ghost King form for the peace treaty. It felt like he was scamming them just by showing up.
Red Robin, in particular, seemed especially affected by his appearance and ended up agreeing to practically everything Danny said.

The first time you met was once when Bruce took you to the Batcave to accompany him on a mission, actually only Dick met you, he was not allowed to be there tonight, Bruce had forbidden him to go down to the cave that night and that they would not go out on patrol together, and there he was hiding watching the interaction between the most beautiful girl he had seen in his short thirteen years and his adoptive father.
You stood next to Batman, nodding as he explained the details of a simple reconnaissance mission. You were dressed in your suit, a modern design that combined functionality with style, and your posture displayed confidence… though a friendly smile softened your features.
Batman walked you toward the Batmobile, helping you get in, and Dick saw you laugh at something he said. Laugh. With Batman. As if that were even possible.
How unfair life was to him.
But the first time you officially met was shortly after Young Justice was created. Bruce, dressed as Batman and Red Tornado, had introduced you to the small group of teenagers with the intention of having you be part of their training, and perhaps even help them understand the great responsibility that this job entails at a young age.
But young Robin was too busy bragging that he already knew the pretty girl.
"Team," Red Tornado announced in a mechanically solemn voice. "This is the newest active member of the Justice League. She'll assist in your training."
You stood confidently beside Batman, smiling kindly at the group of expectant teenagers.
"Hey guys" you greeted with a friendly smile. "I hope we can learn a lot together. "
Robin almost fainted.
Of course he recognized you.
The goddess of the Batcave was there, in the same room, and this time... he could talk to you without hiding behind the Batmobile.
Wally nudged him. “Wow... who is she? She’s so f...”
"What are you saying, Wally?!" Robin interrupted quickly, his voice a little louder than usual.
Everyone looked at him, he cleared his throat, crossing his arms as if he hadn't just yelled in front of the team. "I mean, obviously I know her. She's been in the Batcave before. With Batman. And me. Nothing new for me. "
Wally raised an eyebrow, amused. "Really? And you didn't say anything?"
Robin shrugged, putting on his best 'this doesn't affect me' pose, although he was sure his ears were turning red under the mask.
"I didn't mean to brag," he said with a small smile. "But we've already talked. she was on a mission with B, and I showed her some things about the cave. She asked me for advice. The usual."
Wally chuckled. “she asked you for advice, sure.”
You stepped forward, smiling warmly as you watched them. “Robin, right?” you asked, addressing him directly.
The boy's heart almost fell to the floor.
"Yes," he replied immediately, straightening as if he were undergoing a military inspection. "Of course. Robin. You know, the first one. The original. The best. Your Robin."
Wally coughed to hide a laugh.
"Thank you for having me. I'm happy to be here," you continued calmly, then lowered your voice a little. "And.... I remember you."
Robin froze.
—I wasn't sure if I should tell you, but... I thought it was really cute how you hid behind the computer that night.
Robin blinked. “How…?”
"Boy, do you think I'd be in the League if I didn't see you hiding behind a piece of furniture? No one escapes a League member," you winked mischievously.
Wally squealed with laughter as Robin raised a hand to his face. "I'm going to need an identity change," he muttered.

The Watchtower meeting hall was lively, finally the young league had been allowed to come see the place and watch the daily routine of the heroes who were there, what should have been a happy day for everyone, for Robin, the energy of the place had a slightly bitter taste.
From his place leaning against the wall, arms crossed and brow slightly furrowed, he watched the scene in front of him as if it were a movie he hadn't asked to see.
You were standing in the middle of the conference room, laughing with Hal Jordan, while he excitedly gestured about who knows about what. The way you laughed, with your shoulders slightly raised and that genuine expression of amusement… it didn't help at all.
Robin looked away with a silent grunt. 'Great,' he thought, now his special day at the Watchtower was ruined by the more annoying version of Green Lantern and his damn perfect white teeth and that jagged jawline.
"Relax, Wonder Boy," Wally told him, appearing at his side, munching some cookies from the base's kitchen. "They're just talking."
"Who said I'm not relaxed?" Robin replied, a little too quickly.
—Your face. You have a “I want to throw a batarang at Green Lantern” vibe.
Robin snorted. “I wouldn’t throw a batarang at him…” Pause ."…very strong. "
At that moment, you turned your head slightly and smiled at Batman, who had come over to review some files with you and Hal. Batman said something to you in a low voice, and you nodded with a warm smile.
Dick felt a small emotional short circuit.
Bruce now too? Bruce?!? Since when did you smile like that with him?! I thought your thing with Batman was respect, professional admiration… not those kind of smiles that gave you stomach cramps!
Wally spoke again, his mouth still half full of crackers. “I think you should take a deep breath before you explode like an overloaded microchip, buddy.”
At that moment, you said goodbye to Hal with a gentle pat on the arm and walked toward the group of young people. Your eyes lingered on Dick for a second, and your smile widened.
"Wally, Robin," you greeted him in that warm tone you only used with him, even though he refused to admit it. "How was your visit?"
Dick cleared his throat and straightened his back as if he hadn't been frowning with dramatic intensity for five minutes. Wally, for his part, smiled as if nothing had happened.
"That's great!" the speedster replied. "I mean, it's not every day you see Superman eating a giant salad for lunch, right?"
You laughed softly, and that laugh was enough to make Dick forget for half a second that he was angry at Hal Jordan, at you, at Bruce, and at cosmic injustice in general.
"And you, Robin?" you asked with a nod. "What did you think?"
Robin opened his mouth, but for some reason the words didn't come out immediately. His brain, which normally ran at the speed of a supercomputer, seemed to have rebooted.
"I'm... fine. Everything," he murmured, before clearing his throat and adding in a firmer tone. "The security design of the north corridors is quite efficient. Although there is a minimal leak in the retinal scanner in room 6B. Nothing serious, but... I noticed it."
Wally looked at him as if he had just quoted an engineering manual in the middle of a conversation about movies.
You smiled with genuine amusement and nodded, as if you didn't find it ridiculous at all. "I knew you'd notice something like that. Good eye."
Dick felt like he was floating.
"Yeah, well... efficiency's my thing," he said with a slight shrug, trying to sound casual. Wally nudged him, not conspiratorially this time, but to keep him from falling over because of his inflated ego.
"You're adorable."
Dick felt as if the ground disappeared for a second beneath his boots.
And Wally, behind him, lost it: he put his hand to his mouth to hold back a laugh.
"See you later, little guards," you added sweetly, ruffling his hair before leaving with Hal, who was waiting for you at one of the doors.
Dick stood still, as if struck by lightning.
"I'm not little..." he murmured.
Wally patted him on the back with a laugh. "Bro... you just got lethally friendzoned with love. You're going to remember this for years."
Dick didn't reply. He just touched his messy hair with a silly half smile he couldn't stop.
ᯓ★
It was your first time accompanying Young Justice on a mission, and everything had gone to hell so fast you couldn't believe it.
No one understood what was happening, but since you were the oldest of all, you were supposed to stay calm and find a solution for this strange moment.
The rift in the sky had exploded without warning. A blinding white flash enveloped them, and the next thing they knew, they were no longer in their timeline.
The technology, the architecture, the atmosphere: everything indicated they'd traveled several years into the future. Just enough to make some familiar faces unrecognizable... and others too recognizable to not send shivers down your spine.
“Where… are we?” Aqualad asked, cautiously assessing the spot where they had landed.
"That's what I'd like to know," said a deep, confident voice behind you.
You turned around as a reflex .
And there he was
Tall, imposing. In a black suit with a light blue symbol in the middle of his chest, he looked like a boy about your age, one you definitely didn't know.
"Are you...?" He looked at everyone, his attention finally settling on you. "Oh, damn."
"I'm surprised to see you here. Although I must admit… so far, this has been a pleasant visit."
Robin narrowed his eyes .
"Do you know us?" you asked cautiously.
"Let's just say I have good memories," he said, in a tone that made you raise an eyebrow.
Dick, in the background, clenched his fists. Good memories? What kind of memories?
Nightwing winked at you before looking back at the group. "But don't worry, I won't leave you trapped in my time. We'll figure out how to get you back... after we catch up."
Robin couldn't stop staring at him. Would this be what he'd be like in the future? Would this be how he'd behave? Would this be how he'd talk to you...?
And the worst part is, you didn't seem upset. In fact, you were smiling.
Maybe you weren't recognizing Dick as Nightwing, they didn't look much alike, but it was inevitable for Dick not to recognize himself. .
"We need to talk alone," he said in a serious tone.
Nightwing hesitated, but nodded, and the two of them walked off into a darker hallway.
And there, when they were far enough away, Robin turned to him with a frown. "Hey... you," he began, somewhat awkwardly, "I mean, me. Major. Can I ask you something?"
Nightwing looked at him curiously. “Shoot.”
"She..." he swallowed. "You know, she... In this time... you and her, are you...?"
Nightwing looked at him for a long second before answering. "No, Dick. We were never together."
Silence.
Dick blinked . "Excuse me?" he said with an incredulous chuckle. "Never as in 'not yet'? Or never as in never, never?"
Nightwing gave him a sympathetic look. That was worse.
"As in “never ever.” As in “your eternal crush will eventually marry someone else.” As in “you had zero chance, bro.”
Dick opened his mouth. He closed it. Then he opened it again, only to complain with all the drama his frustrated little teenage body could muster.
"Are you telling me that neither growing up, nor having this cool guy demeanor, nor having that deep, sexy voice, I achieved anything?! Nothing at all?!"
Nightwing shrugged. “Well… you managed to maintain a nice friendship. That’s something.”
"A NICE FRIENDSHIP!" Dick repeated, his face one of existential outrage. "You flirted with her five minutes ago! You flirted with her in front of me like it was the most natural thing in the world!"
"Sure, but she didn't know it was me, or rather, you."
Dick pointed at him as if it were evidence in court. "That makes everything worse!! You flirted with her like someone else and it failed!"
