If Jack is Bruce, then maybe Maddie is...

So! In most stories where Jack Fenton is an alternate universe version of Bruce Wayne, they have Maddie as an Alternate Talia or Selena. But I propose a different path.

We already have another Red-Headed, Serious, good a fighting, can keep Bruce in check, person in Gotham that we can use.

Maddie Fenton, is a Genderswapped version of Commissioner Gordon.

She's a little younger than her alternate self, and much crazier, but otherwise she's pretty much identical to him. No Nonsense, Intelligent, Caring, Protective, and wanting to make the World/Gotham a better place for their Kid(s).

This of course means that Jazz is an alternate Barabara, and Danny is either an alternate Damien or an Alternate Cass (since Barbara and Cass have a sibling-type relationship)

“Yea but that smile is completely yours. Beautiful just like her mother” he said touching her cheek trying to get a smirk from the babe. It worked caused a gum filled grin to spread across her face “see! Look at that! Ugh, you did an amazing job love” he compliments you

“You know it was both of us” you try and give him credit

“Hey hey, you carried her and basically made her. It was a 10-90 job. Either way, you just keeping bringing blessings into my life” he kissed the top of your head. “First you and now her. Life just cousins get any better”

“Im Just so happy she’s finally here” you sigh as you snuggle into Dick’s side

Well here you were. Baby girl in your arms with your fiancé at your side. Your fiancé who so happens to be a super hero and the former sidekick of Batman himself. You also so happened to be Batman’s daughter.

Now this didn’t happen in the best way. You were dating for about 3 1/2 years by now. You even shared an apartment together. However the dreaded late period was no where in sight. One positive test and a sobbing Dick was more than enough proof. The problem was telling your father. Hs was very strict on finding the right one, marrying and being stable in every way before being a child I got he world.

Even though this was a two person matter, Dick wanted to tell him and take full responsibility and heat for it. Bruce was in fact not very happy with the circumstances, but Dick Grayson.

His side kick, friend, his son, his family. Someone he knew you could rely on, be safe with, and know that you were in good hands. So the day you both told him he responded with:

“Y/N, this is another life you’re both bringing into this world. You’re both fully aware of your actions and what has to be done now. I won’t force you into keeping it, the choice is yours. However, keeping this life means they are now the center of everything. Are you truly ready for that? The tears, the sick days, school, happy moments, angry moments? All of it?” He asks seriously yet cautiously

“Every moment Bruce. And she won’t be alone. I swear to you I love them both so much, I just want to give them whatever it is to keep them safe and happy” dick said confidently.

With that said Bruce stood up and congratulated you both. He brought you into a tight but gentle hug. Of course he’d also be there every moment, he just couldn’t believe it. About a month or so later dick had asked you to marry him. He would have asked with or without the pregnancy. But he wanted to show you that he was here 100000%.

Looking up from your arms you see Bruce pop his head in.

“Dad! Come in! You’re just in time she’s awake!” You beam as your father opens to the door to make room for the flower he had brought for you. Behind him were Alfred and Damian. He set the flowers down and kissed your head. He looked down at the baby in your arms

“She beautiful you two. She looks a lot like Dick” he said smiling down at the newborn

“Dad, this is Martha” you say carefully handing the bundle. He cradled her in his arms and thats when he caught on

“Martha? Y/N…you didnt-“

“We did Bruce. You’ve done so much and you know how much you mean to us so we honored her with your mothers name” Dick explains wrapping his arm around your shoulder. Sitting down in a chair and observed the baby. She now carried something on his mother and he couldn’t hold back the tears.

Bruce Wayne was a very tough man. Brought to tears by a baby who was yet to even speak. You knew he’d be an amazing grandfather. After some more chatter Alfred also took a turn to hold Martha.

“She does have something about her that remind me of Martha sir. However, her Beaty seems to come from you Miss Y/N.” He comments. Martha definitely liked Alfred, she looked at him and broke into a big gummy smile.

You had then noticed Damian who was in the far corner looking out of the window

“Damian, do you want to hold her?” Dick asked picking her up from Alfred

“Why would I want to hold something that has your DNA?” He asked crossing his arms

“Because shes also your niece” he answered “and once you hold her, you won’t need anymore answers” he rolled his eyes and opened his arms for the small package

“Support her head” dick reminded him. With a scowl he looked down at his niece and raised a brow. Martha simple yawned and stretched her small limbs out of the blanket. A small tiny sigh leaving her mouth. Damian felt strange….he felt protective ? It was weird. He could feel his face gearing up even in the cool hospital air.

He walks over to you and hands her over. He gave you a quick hug and said

“Shes cute. Congrats” and stuffed his hands into his pockets and made his way outside the door.

“Well, it looks like Martha is winning everyone Hearst today” he said kissing her head. This time you both shared a yawn signaling for Dick to go into dad and husband mode.

“Alright we’ll i think it’s time for both of my girls to get their naps of the day in” he said picking up Martha and placing her in the bassinet “thank you guys again for stopping by”

“Of course, we’ll be in touch. If you need an escort home just let me know” Bruce said saying his goodbyes to you both

“We will dad” you wave with heavy eyelids “and tell Damian he can come by our place later to see her again”

“Will do”

“Alright sexy mama, It’s time for you to get some rest” dick said helping you adjust to the hospital bed for well deserved rest

“Thank you dick, you’re so diligent without me even saying anything” you yawn again as you’re tucked under the blankets

“Well you’re my wife and the mother of my beautiful baby. What kind of husband would I be if I didn’t treat you like a queen?” He asked kissing your head “no more questions. Shut those pretty eyes of yours and get some rest. I’ll watch our little princess”

No more Words were needed as you fell asleep. Dick took his seat near the bassinet and watched as both of your form rose and fell in your peaceful slumber. He just couldn’t stop smiling. The perfect woman and the perfect daughter. He may be a hero, but before that he is Dick Grayson. Husband and father.

DCU from a Marvel fans limited perspective

recently i've accidently been sucked into the DCU universe, mostly Bat family, if i'm being honest, and although i've never watched a single movie/episode, this is what i have gathered from purely reading the occasional fanfiction/lots of tumblr posts

Bruce Wayne adopts these motherfuckers like they're some kind of limited edition pokemon set

no one is actually sure how many there are but if you have black hair and blue eyes and live in gotham, Batman doesn't care if you've got parents or not. you're coming home with him

Batman's Relationships with the "Batfam"

Alfred: Technically Alfred is his father-figure, but because Alfred actively chose to remain being Bruce's butler, and repressed his own issues, that just kneecapped Bruce's ability to heal, and enabled his worst impulses. Yes, they love each other, dearly. No, they will not communicate this unless they are on the brink of death.

Dick: I know, there's this whole thing with "eldest son". But first, Bruce was only in his early 20s when he took in Dick. And second, Bruce would have been actively avoiding trying to replace Dick's father, similar to Alfred. Their relationship is of close friends, and it isn't until they're both adults, well over a decade later, that either would even consider using familial terms to acknowledge each other. But that friendship is always the first level of their connection.

Barbara: There was hero worship that quickly died once Barbara got to see more of what Bruce is actually like. But there's still mutual respect and friendship, and Barbara is one of the few people Bruce actively listens to the input of.

Jason: Jason was the second Robin, but he was the first child who could accurately be called Bruce's son. When he meets Jason, Bruce is in a more balanced place in his life, he's on the path of healing, and he's willing to take in Jason not because he recognizes someone who's suffered the same way he has, like with Dick, but because he can help him. There's outright familial affection between Bruce and Jason, in ways we don't see with almost any other Batfam character. And then Jason dies, and Bruce's heart is shattered. Every single relationship Bruce has going forward is informed more by Jason's death than his parents'.

Tim: Tim and Bruce are a student and teacher. In many ways, Tim is Bruce's favorite student, but they aren't seeking family in each other, but that doesn't make their relationship any less deep or important to each other.

Cass: While a lot of comics tend to ignore or forget that Bruce outright adopted Cassandra to prove she would always have a home and family, the greatest truth is that Cass is Bruce's successor. Of all the batfam, she is the one who actively says she wants to take Bruce's place one day, and she believes in the cause of Batman stronger than anyone else. She was given a choice between cruelty and compassion, and like Bruce before her, she chose compassion. She's growing and improving, learning both from her own mistakes and from Bruce's, and ultimately, will be a greater hero than Batman before her.

Stephanie: A Mess. Not familial, but definitely a mess. Mostly because Steph's a victim of Batman writing at the time, and it never really got addressed to offer any improvement to her relationship with Bruce.

Damien: Damien is Bruce's son, but their relationship is fraught to say the least. Between being raised by the League, then Bruce being "dead" and Damien being raised/guided by Dick for a good amount of time, there's a lot of love there, but Damien is a victim of Bruce's decades of emotional repression and trauma in ways none of the other Batfam are, and both struggle to communicate, despite trying their best.

Duke, Luke, and Harper: All of these are colleagues at various levels of connection to Bruce. Duke is a younger vigilante just starting out, and Bruce is a grizzled veteran taking him under his wing, but not outright mentoring him the way he did the Robins. There's respect and teaching there, but not in the same way.

Kate Kane: They're cousins. They argue a lot.

Bruce’s core Issues with his Children/Child-Apprentices

This will be going in age and highlighting what I feel is sort of the core source of tension between Bruce and his various ‘kids’, it’s not exhaustive, but it covers the biggest glowing red spot I feel, now, from oldest to youngest! 

Dick: Dick is the favorite, but this basically just means he gets picked for the toughest battles, is held tot he most insanely high standard and is otherwise the one Bruce leans on the most and that is a crushing weight. 

Cassandra:  Cass is the one he projects onto, this means they get along, but also means he’s constantly undermining her physical and mental health & making her life worse because its what he does to himself and won’t let her be her own person. 

Jason:  Jason, be he alive, dead or ressurected is probably the one Bruce is most comfortable loving, but understands the absolute least, no matter his state he does not know what Jason needs, was, or will do at any given moment. 

Stephanie:  Steph isn’t his kid but he made her Robin; I’d say he is very fond of her, but that he ultimately resents her more than any of the others, because she reminds him of Jason, because she won’t yield and that this motivates his abuse of her. 

Timothy:  Tim is the one he identifies with most, not projects onto, not the favorite, but the one who he looks at and goes, “Oh its me”, likely cos of their similar class, which causes him to try and make Tim more like him at Tim’s expense. 

Duke:  Duke is tricky cos I don’t know of any major fallout between them, but based on what I’ve read I would say he puts perhaps the most pressure on Duke, he ‘sees great things in him’ and so piles on the expectations till the breaking point. 

Damian:  This was hard for the source of it is simple, I honestly feel Damien is the one he is the least invested or connected with. He’ll acknowledge Damien as his son, but he won’t put any real effort into the relationship unless its impacting him.

It takes more than a role to be a teacher

And here we go! Another request made by azv2448 over on ao3. I believe that there will be more so i'm not hoping this is the last request i get from them.

Let's get into it then!

Mendeleiev and Bustier knew each other since college. They were rivals in everything... including becoming teachers, which everyone saw clearly back then and wondered who would win. While Olga was strict and focused with everyone to make sure that others listen so they get good grades... Caline focused on the bad people to make them feel good and happy while abusing the good students who were victims in bullying.

This caused Caline to get fired and lose her teachers permit...

Years go by and Olga works at College Françoise Dupont and is very happy with how well her students are doing in her class. She was shocked when she discovered Caline now working at the school... as a teacher. She knew about Caline losing her permit to be a teacher and how she refused to retake the classes required to reclaim her permit so how did she get the job? Olga was certain she didn't something and she was going to find out what it was... no matter what it takes.

Which is why she was in Damocles'' office right now. He was the one who had to review the people who request a job as a teacher and he swore to make sure that everything was good. So the fact that Caline got a job... means that she commited a crime, she looked around and then found Caline's file. She looked through it and uncovered that it had been documented that Caline presented a fake permit to be a teacher with false recommendations from previous schools she worked at but got fired from due to her actions.

This told Olga everything she needed to know as she took pictures of everything before putting it back and leaving...

Now that she had proof of Caline's and Damocles' crimes... she could get started on opening an investigation on them... but it was possible that they could cover it up still... which is why she needed more evidence of what they were doing... and for that... She needed evidence of Caline's behaviour in the classroom. She hates this due to the fact that Marinette was suffering badly by Caline's hands... she knew this because the other teachers notice that when she walks into there classroom she's happy and excited... but the second it's time to leave and she has to go to Caline's class... she's trembling as she walks out slowly.

Olga knew that Caline was doing the same thing she has done in the past on Marinette now...

Making Marinette do her work, letting others bully her and do nothing to stop it... it was horrible. She got a hidden camera set on her by using a gorgeous pin Mari made for her birthday two years ago and began to record everything that happened in Caline's class when she get's a chance to be near... and what she collected in just three days... made her want to quit and leave the country right now.

Caline ignored Mari's pleas for help when Chloe and Sabrina bully her, she looks away when Lila lies about Mari and she tries to defend herself, she leaves the classroom when the class attacks her verbally and or physically because Lila lied about Marinette doing something to her and worst of all... she makes a phone call whenever Mari tries to get her attention when Adrien sexually harasses her and she tells him no multiple times.

She was getting sick from it all but now she had everything she needed to destroy Caline and Damocles for good. Which is why she went after Mari who ran out of the classroom after Kim dumped his iced coffee on her and her sketchbook (fake) making the class laugh at her while Caline screamed at her to come back and apologize to the class for causing them trouble... she found her in the bathroom on the phone with her boyfriend.

She knew about the boy. Damien Wayne sole blood related son to Bruce Wayne. She actually received an email from Bruce giving her his personal number to call about anything relating to Marinette... she went over to Mari to comfort her and offered her jacket to wear before she goes home for the day to clean up and rest. Once she left. She returned to her classroom to make a phone call "Bruce Wayne" a male voice spoke after the second ring "Hello mister Wayne. My name is Olga Mendeleiev. You sent me an email with your number to call you about Marinette. Is this a good time to talk?" she explained and once she was confirmed to have time... she told him everything that happened to Marinette that she saw in three days.

Of course the man was infuriated with what she told him... and he wasn't going to let this continue "I'll send my best lawyers to Paris to help you sue those two and those kids who hurt Marinette. I will also be calling her parents and request they take her to the airport as soon as possible because i'm paying for a ticket for the next flight to Gotham for Marinette to be on to come live with us because that school is sadly a toxic environment for her now" Bruce explained and Olga fully agreed with what Bruce said. Mari needed to leave Paris so she can heal from what Caline taught her to believe.

The next day. Mari didn't come to school, all of her teachers received an email from Sabine that Mari was pulled out of school and was transferring to another school. Of course Damocles and Caline reacted in a negative way and responded to Sabine demanding Marinette to come back as she had things to fix and take care of before she could do so. But Olga knew that it wouldn't be possible since the girl was either on her way or already in Gotham by now. She did however go to the bakery and was gifted free pastries and a scarf made by Mari as a thank you for everything.

It made Olga happy as she enjoyed the gifts...

After that... it was hell at the school. Police were there to investigate and question everyone. Parents were coming in demanding answers about why there kids might be repeating the year or getting sent somewhere... Damocles was arrested for take money bribes to look the other way when bullies were hurting others and Caline was arrested for teaching without a permit and abusing Marinette. Olga smiled the whole time she presented her evidence to the police and informed everyone that she caused this to happen because she knew Caline in the past.

Bruce's lawyers were monsters towards Caline's class... they were all sued and given restraining orders for what they did to Mari, Caline was going to jail and Damocles was threatened with jail... but he somehow escaped that... Olga was certain that he somehow was able to lie about Caline and what he knew but she didn't care because he couldn't work at a school ever again.

Now here she was. The new principal at College Françoise Dupont. She investigates every potential teacher before making a final decision to hire or not. She makes sure that all students are doing well, but if they have troubles then she makes sure that they get the help they need and she receives gifts on her birthday every year for the past five years from Marinette Wayne as a thank you for saving her from Caline and her bullies.

She didn't care if Caline, Damocles or Caline's old class hate her... she would have done this all over again... if it meant Mari was alive, well and happy outside of Paris...

Authors Note: Here is another shot with the bat family! We’re putting the blame on Dick again because why not? 😌 I also enjoyed writing this, I finished it during work but at least I got distracted with something after finishing up my job!

Request: can I request a fanfic where Bruce's biological son just turned 4 and they are all setting up a birthday party for him and while they're doing so they keep fucking up decorations (the batboyz) and they start cursing under their breath but baby reader still hears it. After they're done they start singing happy birthday and Jason asks reader what they wish for and with his big innocent eyes he says "fuck!! " really loudly and everyone looks at Jason and he's just like "it wasnt me why is everyone automatically blaming me!?" Bruce just rolls his eyes and thinks reader is trying to say duck so he asks reader if he meant duck but he just shakes his head and keeps saying fuck and then Alfred gives reader a long talk about how that word is really bad

He was suppose to be distracted in his room, playing with his toys and brushing Titus fur along with Alfred the cat. He was suppose to remain in the room until his older brother, Jason, came to get him. The small three, soon to be four, year old boy was sitting on the carpet floor, playing with his toys along with his family dog and cat.

Y/n was focused playing with his own toys and placing a loose tie over Titus, who sat in front of him, keeping watch of the child who hums to himself and pranced around his room. Before hearing a commotion on the other side of the door, causing the boy to stop what he was doing and turn his gaze at the closed door.

He stays silent, hearing a soft thud and some harsh whispering. The child tilts his head in confusion and approaches the door, both Titus and Alfred the cat walk around him, trying to keep him from leaving the room and trying to pull him back but the child was stubborn like his father and wanted to know what were the noise was coming from.

Upon reaching the door knob he twists it open and pulled the door open, stumbling in his little legs as he looks up and down the empty halls. “Let’s go.” He whispers to Titus and Alfred, quietly moving around the hallways and following the sound of his brothers harsh whispers.

“—I can’t!”

“Damien, I swear to god.”

Y/n’s hand grips the tie around Titus, pulling the large dog close to him as he reaches the end of the hallway, peaking down the stairs where he spots his brothers holding colorful decorations and arguing amongst each other.

“The sign is suppose to be by the chimney.” Dick exclaims, holding a banner saying, ‘happy birthday’, as he tried to take the ladder back from Damien’s hold. “Grayson.” Damien hissed. “The banner is better above the entrance where Y/n is suppose to enter.”

“Does it really matter where it goes?” Tim asks.

“Yes!” Both dick and Damien say at the same time before turning back to glare at each other.

Tim rolls his eyes, going back to fixing his own part of the decorations. He works on the balloons, blowing them up and tying the string around the end before giving them to Jason to tie down on a small weight.

“Just out the banner by the entrance and focus on the rest of the decorations! Bruce will be home soon and I doubt Y/n will stay in his room forever.” Jason reminds the others as Dick grumbled at Damien’s victory grin, snatching the banner from him and moving the ladder to the entrance.

“I hope you fucking fall.” Dick says.

Damien frowns at him, rolling his eyes and focusing on his own tasks while Jason ties the balloons down. “Dick, help me with the rest of the balloons—“

Y/n giggled to himself, watching his brothers argue with one another. Something he tends to see a lot at home and he’s grown used to it. His brothers were always loud and yelling while Y/n remained a quiet child, only talking whenever he felt like it. Bruce had grown worried for his son after the first two years together, not hearing a single word from the kids mouth caused the billionaire to grow worried, rushing him to see a doctor who let him know that each child was different when it comes to speaking. Y/n was probably late into learning, Bruce would blame himself for his sons verbal situation.

It didn’t take long for Alfred to reach him sign language, something that y/n took interest in and began to communicate with his family with his hands. It did take a few more months before he finally started talking, surprising Bruce and his brothers. It all happened during family dinner, after everyone was finished they stayed a little longer to enjoy some desert. Y/n has crawled onto Bruce’s lap, reaching out for the plate of cookies that were far from his reach. Everyone was too busy arguing or talking with each other to pay attention until the child says his first words.

“Cookie, please.”

The boys didn’t process the words until after Tim slides the plate over. The young child snatching one from the plate and eating quietly while kicking his little legs back and forth. The whole table remained quiet that night as they watched him eat in silence, expecting him to say something again but never hearing that voice again until later that week. After that, y/n had grown used to speaking with his family or signing to them whenever he felt comfortable.

“Dick funny.” Y/n tells Titus, the Dane titling it’s head to the side in confusion while the child giggled. He quietly rushed back to his room, closing the door behind him and focusing back on his toys. He sits on his knees and helps Titus remove the tie from around his neck.

The child was suddenly full of energy and excitement as he throws himself at Titus, wrapping his arms around his neck and hugging the large dog who sat still, barely moving when the child bounced on him.

“Birthday, birthday, birthday!” He chants out in a soft voice, touching Titus’ ears and brushing his fur back. It was only a few minutes before Bruce decide to walk inside the room, a smile on his face as he approached his four year old son. He bends down on one knee to place a hand on his sons head. “Hey Bud,” Bruce whispers. “Ready for your birthday cake?”

Y/n’s eyes widen with excitement when he hears the word ‘cake’, turning quickly to hug Bruce and nuzzling his face into his chest. “I want cake.” He mumbled out, causing Bruce to chuckle and pick up his son in his arms. He carried the kid out of his room and downstairs where everyone else was.

“Hey! It’s the birthday boy!” Jason is the first to shout as they pop some confetti, surprising the four year old as he claps in happiness. “We got you presents and a cake! Your favorite.” Tim reveals y/n’s favorite cake. The boys eyes grow big as he squirms to sit in front of it.

“Calm down.” Bruce laughs, setting Y/n down on the chair while Dick placed a little birthday hat on him, the whole family was there to celebrate the child’s fourth birthday. The room was fully decorated and presents were piled up on a separate table.

“Let’s light this bitc—“

“Jason.” Bruce says with a stern voice, glaring at him.

“Right.” Jason clears his throat, lighting up the candles. Y/n’s father and siblings stand in front of him, Alfred behind him as they began to sing him happy birthday. Y/n sways his head side to side, singing along too as he stares at the lit up candles in front of him.

After his family is done singing it’s Bruce who says. “Make a wish, Y/n.” The rest of his family goes quiet as Y/n stands on his chair, bowling out the candles, probably spitting a little, but still blowing them out. Everyone clapped and cheered, causing Y/n to blush as he too, claps again.

“What you wish for?” Tim asks.

Y/n smiles widely at Tim. “Fuck!”

Tim’s eyes widen, Jason chokes on his spit while Damien grins. Dick looks nervously to Bruce who stood over his four year old with a frown on his face.

“Y/n, did you by any chance mean Duck?” Bruce asked but Y/n shakes his head. “I want fuck!” He says again.

Jason holds back his laughter until everyone turns to face him with a glare. “What—? Seriously, just because I swear doesn’t mean I taught him. I wouldn’t do that too him!”

“Yes Todd, but your more likely to slip up.” Damien provided his point. Jason was always swearing during missions and no was surprised that he would do it at home.

Bruce sighs deeply, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Y/n, where did you hear that word?”

Y/n was too oblivious to know what was going on. He smiles widely, standing on his chair as he points at Dick. “Fuck! Heard from him.” He confessed, everyone growing tense and turning to face Dick.

“Now hold on—!” Dick is quick to defend himself while everyone turned to scold him. Y/n could only hum as he sits on his chair, poking the cake and licking the frosting from his fingers while Alfred cut him a piece and provided him a small lecture of never using that word again.

The Fall and Rise of Orca: Orca Joins a Furry Gang

Warning: This post contains spoilers for "Dawn of DC" Batman and Robin Vol 3 Issues 1-3.

After moving out of Wayne Manor, Bruce Wayne and his son Damian experienced growing pains with Bruce wanting to enroll Damien in high school in order to further his socialization, while Damian wanted to focus on crime fighting. After foiling an attempted kidnapping by White Rabbit, further evidence suggested a conspiracy to target one Dr. Kafira for his DNA sequencing work. While heading out to check on Dr. Kafira, Batman and Robin arrived at the site of another kidnapping attempt with the kidnappers having some familiar faces among them:

While I'm happy to see Orca and Croc together again, this is definitely a huge step back from them trying to get their lives together. The loss of Monstertown and Tusk's hotel took a huge toll on everybody it seems.

Though at least they seem to have made some new friends:

Wasn't Man-Bat undead at last check? Did he get brought back to life or is this a different man-bat? I hate not being able to keep track of characters' status because there's no continuity between stories, even though they're taking place in the same city on the same Earth in the same universe.

Okay, rant over. On the plus side, minor villains The Terrible Trio are part of this gang and they've got a surprise for Batman and Robin: they've become true hybrids of their animal identities beneath the masks! In the ensuing fight, Man-Bat attempts to fly off with Dr. Kafira as a mysterious sniper takes aim at Batman:

Man-Bat was able to escape with Dr. Kafira in tow along with the rest of the gang as Batman and Robin had to deal with a new problem: the pellet shot by the sniper contained some form of gas that attracted bats to Batman in order to attack him.

The first issue sets up a lot of intrigue with questions of who the animal hybrid gang are working for and why, though I feel like the father-son drama between Bruce and Damian has been done before and causes the story to drag a bit. Maybe it'll get better over time.

On the bright side, Orca got to be on the extended cover art for the first issue:

Issue 2 resolves the bat attack with Batman using a smoke bomb filled with herbs and other scents to repel the bats before he and Robin headed home to regroup. Meanwhile, the mysterious sniper was reveal to be a woman calling herself Shush and that she was working with the animal hybrid gang. She soon had to deal with dissent in the ranks from Croc and the ravenous appetites of The Terrible Trio, asking Orca to guard Dr. Kafira in order to avoid him being devoured by them:

Shush then went off to speak to the mysterious boss the gang was working for and the boss addressed Croc's concerns and pointed out that she would need to deal with the loose end of White Rabbit, concerned that the former member might inform Batman and Robin about the gang's plans. As Bruce and Damian discussed what they had learned, the concern over Bruce finding a cure for the pheromone altering chemical he had inhaled from the pellet was raised, forcing him to work from home to find more information. The next day, Damian had a rough first day at school, soon choosing to play hooky and don the Robin costume in order sneak into Blackgate to interrogate White Rabbit. An plan of action echoed by his father, who showed up shortly before Shush lead an attack on the prison with The Terrible Trio in tow, intent on silencing White Rabbit for good.

More intrigue and curiosity grows as to why a non-hybrid like Shush is involved in this plot. I'm not enamored with genderbent Hush here as Hush was never that amazing a character to begin with in my opinion, but I'm willing to reserve full judgement until we get to the end of this storyline.

No Orca appearance in Issue 3 as Batman cornered Shush, assuming she was working with Hush, but the tension was soon broken with the revelation that she had set a bomb up somewhere in Blackgate as Damian went after The Terrible Trio in order to save White Rabbit from being assassinated. However, Shush soon caught up with White Rabbit, taking her hostage. After Batman disarmed the bomb, he and Robin pursued Shush and the Trio in a car chase. Batman was soon able to rescue White Rabbit as a crash forced Shush to make a hasty escape and White Rabbit claimed not to know what the gang's master plan was. Damian pursued The Terrible Trio to the gang's base of operations in the Gotham Zoo, soon finding a woozy Dr. Kafira, who claimed to have been injected with some kind of chemical. However, before he could aid the doctor, he was accosted by a very different looking Man-Bat.

This issue flowed a lot better as far as the mix of family drama and action, so that was a plus. I'm curious to see if White Rabbit is lying or telling the truth/partial truth. The man-bat at the end doesn't look like the one that took Dr. Kafira, but time will tell if that was an art error or deliberately misleading the reader. Either way, the goatee and sideburns on the cliffhanger man-bat are a dead giveaway that it's grandpa: Ra's al Ghul, here for yet another scheme to fuck up humanity in order to save it. Him going for hybridizing humans and animals happened in another continuity (the animated film Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), but I'm still curious how the method and goal might differ in this storyline.

Also its okay that the DP x JL x MLB isn't your cup of tea, so whenever I ask about what I'll call the Halfa-Siblings au ( heh ) it'll just be in the JL x DP world.

With that out of the way, I was reading reading family reunions but at the worst time au, and I wondered about how that must had went down in the Dark Dan timeline 😬.

Because despite being willing to kill his own family and friends again to ensure his existence, I'm sure when Dan found out that his bio dad was Bruce Wayne, he was stunned because to him, Jack is his dad, full stop. And Maddie isn't the type to cheat, how how did this happen?

Also, if he found out as a late teen, then he might jump to the wrong conclusions and because of bad experiences with Vlad, thinks that Bruce could have taken advantage of Maddie, since he is a powerful rich man and then gave his family hush money, and if they complained, who will believe them?

*The part that got Vlad's intelligence thought that maybe he could be a baby from an open relationship but that thought never took root because despite being evil, there are things not even Supervillians want to think about what goes on in their parents bedroom, thank you very much*

And the JL would have tried to stop Dan at one point since he's causing so much damage and getting more powerful, so a fight had to happen( and they probably either lost horribly or even died, ) Dan finds out about Bruce being Batman because that tech is expensive and he'll need money and connected the dots, and blows up at him, revealing that he is his long lost son that he never even cared about and how he treated his mother like a used toy.

If Dan did kill Bruce with the League, the Batfam, including Damian would tried to get revenge. Dan sees they he has a younger half-brother and goes ballistic and yeah I don't see that ending well for them either.

Maybe Damian did get away and he was leading some resistance out there, and he and Dan despite knowing their blood bond, hate each others guts.

What do you think went down during that Father-Son confrontation? And what did the Dark Dan timeline Bruce think about Dan, and then finding out that's his son?

—I made a short bit of how i would write that interaction cuz I couldn’t help myself cuz I LOVE angst at the best of times!—

Dan held the man by the throat and glared up at him, teeth bared, “what do you have to say for yourself?” Bruce—even while being held like this—looked down at Dan with sad eyes. He was confused and in pain and this young man who was going to kill him was another son he knew nothing about. “I asked you a question, old man!” Dan growled, tightening his grip ever so slightly.

Bruce gargled before finding his voice, “I’m. Sorry.” He says softly, “I didn’t know about you. If I did I would have done everything in my power to have met you…” Bruce’s vision began to blur, “I failed you, son….”

Dan stares up at Bruce, eyes wide and full of dangerous human emotions. But it didn’t last long, Dan throws Bruce onto the ground and puts his foot on his head. Dan looks up at Bruce’s family and smiles wickedly before putting pressure on the man’s skull and crushing it beneath his foot. The screams of anguish that came from his so-called siblings was music to his ears.

How dare they live here and be happy while I had to suffer, how dare they call him a monster when the world made him this way! Dan stalked forward like a wild animal walking up to its corner mes prey. “Now what to do with you brats?” He asked, looking at all of them bound by his ecto energy.

Unknown to Dan however, Jason managed to free himself and was working on freeing Damien. But in typically Damien fashion, the kid jumps up and tries to attack Dan. Dan sidesteps the kid and smirks when he hears the other bat kids gasp and shout for Damien to just run away. Dan picks the kid up by the scruff of his robin suit and growls when he can’t see the kid's eyes. He rips off the kids domino mask, expecting fear. But he froze when he saw looking up at him with big green emerald eyes so much hatred. even with tears falling like waterfalls Damien glared at him. Frozen in that moment, Dan could only look at this kid. So similar to him—his human half— lost so much in a single day and it was only going to get worse from here on out.

Jason took the opportunity to rush forward and deck Dan in the face, causing him to drop Damien. In one fluid motion Jason houists Damien onto his shoulder and runs out of there. The whole time Damien cursed and demanded to go back, calling Jason a coward and screaming at how he was going to kill Dan. Dan smiled and watched them go, Dan had made a decision and he was excited to see how this would play out. But for now he turned to look at the remainder of the bat clan and smiled a fanged grin before he began ripping into them like a wild animal.

This whole scenario gives me JLD: Apokolips War vibes! If you haven’t seen it I recommend it! Its about the JL fighting Darkside and losing and the whole movie takes place after a two year timeskip where Constantine and the remaining JL band together to fight Darkside.

But if you dont like gore dont watch it! Its SUPER dark and there are many on screen deaths, such as: Nightwing getting impaled protecting Damien, Koriand’r getting ripped in half and so on!

(It also has Dami throwing Dick into the Lazarus Pit and it not working like it did for Jason and Dick comes back wrong and insane!)

Anyway, moving on!

Damien resents Jason and will call him a coward for the rest of his life.

Jason couldn’t care less, he was just glad he was able to save one of his siblings.

Damien will try and run off on his own but Jason isn’t far behind.

After the fall of humanity they are left in the wreckage until they find Amity Park the last city still standing, protected by a tall shield that northern Jason or Damien could get through.(because of the Lazarus pit)

Valerie and Damien bond over losing people they care about (he doesn’t tell her that mother he nor his brother can’t go through the shield after she explained that Dan couldn’t get in because he was a ghost)

Damien and Jason decide that they will go around the world to see if they can find any survivors and bring them back to Amity Park.

Jason becomes a better big brother and takes care of Damien (similar to how Jazz took care of Danny)

They meet Vlad who almost has a heart attack cuz Damien and Danny look so similar.

Dan appears and asks how his toys are doing (because he is creepy like that!)

Damien tries to kill him again but is yeeted into a wall and Dan leaves cackling.

Vlad tells his story

Damien nearly beats the shit out of him before Jason can stop him

Vlad believes he deserves it and moves on

Vlad offers them some weapons that work against ghosts

They take them cuz yay weapons!

Vlad helps supe up their suits with ghost tech like Valerie’s suit and makes an ecto dampener so they can go into Amity through the portal.

—10 years later—

Amity Park falls and Damien, Valerie, and Jason are all that’s really left.

Past Danny comes to the future to stop Dan and he meets Damien (who almost kills him but is stopped by Valerie when she finds out phantom is danny)

Damien explains that they are half brothers which throws Danny for a loop.

Meets Vlad again who nearly cries when he sees Danny. (Danny clocks him in the face and Jason is like, “I like this kid”)

Damien and Danny bond over fighting ghosts. Damien actually starts to like Danny as a brother

Danny finds out that he is technically the older brother and is like “I’m an older brober!” And Damien tells him to shut up and Jason and Valerie laugh! Cuz holy shit Dami is a baby!!!

When Danny is about to go back in time and Damien pulls him aside and is like “it was nice knowing you kid! But if you fail I’m gonna go back in time myself and kick your ass!”

Danny hugs him and Jason, and promises that he wouldn’t.

Then some happy bittersweet sibling banter and Damien warning Danny that if he ever meets Damien like, “bother be warned, if you ever meet me in the past, he will most likely try and kill you.”

Danny laughs thinking it’s a joke and Jason is like, “no seriously! He was raised by assassins for the first 10 years of his life.”

And Danny gets sent back to the past with SO MANY QUESTIONS! Like what the hell

Danny will have a heart to heart with his mom, calming that he just had a feeling and she will then explain everything to him (including his parents open relationship)

And Danny wanting to meet Damien and Jason again goes to meet his bio dad because he wants to be a good big brother!

(This is just a random thought but what if future Damien and Jason are brought back in time too and are tasked by clockwork to look after Dan in the GZ as the more human than ghost protector’s, just a fun thought!)

The BatKids as the Gotham Region Gym Leaders

Gym Leader Number One: Damien Wayne (The Dark Type Gym Leader)

Damien as a Gym Leader: As the youngest of the Wayne kids I see Bruce wanting to keep a close eye on Damien in case he gives other trainers any difficulties. While he keeps a threatening aura to him, he also has a bratty side that can almost rival Whitney’s. Bruce keeps an eye out for him in case he doesn’t want to hand over a badge when he’s been defeated (or even refuses to battles them when he doesn’t deem the opponent worthy of his team’s effort), and most importantly he doesn’t want Damien or his team to burn out too quickly by overdoing their training.

Gym Set Up: Damien being raised by the league of assassins would cause for him to take a more ninja like approach to the Gym’s set up. When the trainers enter they’ll have to navigate through the dark via tunnels, but they’ll have to be careful because each tunnel either has a trainer or it leads you directly back to the entrance. You have to go by five different tunnels to make it to Damien, but as you pass each round the numbers as tunnels increases and trainers. If you’re battling Damien at the beginning the trainers will most likely have Poochyena, Nickit, and Purrlion. If you’re battling Damien somewhere along the middle his Gym Trainers will have a mix of Pawniard, Morgrem, Scrafty, and Cacturne. If Damien is of the last Gym Leaders you face the Trainer’s team consists of Umbreon, Sableye, Grimmsnarl, Sahrpedo, and Drapion.

Gym Team Roster (Early Journey Edition): If you challenge Damien early on your journey, his roster will consist of a well rounded team of three. Usually when a Gym Leader is challenged by a novice trainer their teams will consist of two early stage Pokémon, but since Damien is part of the bat family (and Wayne family for the public) he adds an extra member to even out his weaknesses and offense. His first Pokémon will be a tricky Sandile, followed by a sly Nuzleaf, and his final ace Pokémon is a ferocious Houndour that’s part of the lineage of the League of Assassin’s Houndoom line. When defeated Damien will hand you the TM for Torment.

Gym Team Roster (Late Journey Edition): If Damien is one of your last opponents his team consists of hard hitting Pokémon. First on his team is Krookodile with Earthquake as a signature move, followed by Shiftry with Leaf Blade, Crawdaunt with Surf, Hydreigon with Dragon Rush, Houndoom with Fire Blast, and his ace this time is Tyranitar (who was given to him by Bruce as a Larvitar) with Rock Slide. Despite this attack not being any of his Pokémon’s signature move, if Damien is defeated he will hand you the TM for Payback.

Vigilante Team: When Damien is out fighting crime at his father’s side, he’ll have a team of Noibat (given to him by Dick), Weavile (perfect for stealth operations), and a Greninja (who was on his Gym team at first, but was later moved to the vigilante team since it is faster and more agile).

Civilian Party: Since Damien Wayne is Bruce Wayne’s son his Civilian team is graceful to fit Damien’s regal upbringing. He’s closest to the Houndoom that was given to him by Talia as a Houndour pup, but since joining his new family he acquired an Absol, a Zorua, an Umbreon, a Liepard, and surprisingly a Miltank (he chose to train one after hearing of a tough trainer from the Johto Region). Needless to say, because of Damien’s adoration for animals most of his teams consist of Pokémon of that nature, and he’s the second Wayne kid with the most Pokémon on his civilian team because of it.

Okay so

I get that people enjoy seeing Jason return to the family. I get that they want him to be happy. I want him to be happy too! But do you know what would've been even better?? What would have REVOLUTIONIZED Batman stories forever??

Maybe. MAYBE instead of Jason "seeing the light" he manages to kill the Joker in the UtRH final showdown. Filled with rage, magical and righteous both, with the anger no longer centered around terminating his demons, Jason devolves. And when That Batarang Incident happens, maybe it shocks Jason to his core. Realizing that he really won't ever be able to trust Batman, and believing Bruce did it on purpose, he takes the place of his murderer as Batman's greatest villain. The one Bruce can never manage to beat. He's not a monster, of course. He doesn't murder innocents, doesn't kill anyone who doesn't deserve it. But maybe when Talia sends Damien to Gotham, he doesn't click with Bruce and Dick telling him to rearrange his entire way of thinking. Maybe he goes to Jason, who speaks of his mother with respect. And maybe they become more of a family than either of them ever had with Bruce. And the next time Jason goes against the Bat, Bruce will have to fight two of his sons, both of whom he drove away himself

Jason was bullied as a kid because he was street kid who went to a rich school, so when Jason got into a fight it was mostly the other kid fault for provoking him into a fight. Buff Batmom defended him of course for the right reason and didn’t blame him for acting that way. She ended up strictly lecturing the principal, parent, child leaving them all ashamed of their actions.

Damien in the other hand was different because Damien judges everyone. One time he went to the principal office because he made a really salty comment about a mentally disability kid being dumb (yeah Damien an asshole, remember that). Batmom wasn’t having it at all, she didn’t blame Damien personality on how he is the way he is. But she also knows that your terrible background doesn’t excuse your terrible actions. The drive to home was intense you know when you’re parents are pissed at you and don’t talk thoughout the whole drive? Yeah that’s what’s happening.

Buff Batmom: “Damien, you need to understand that there people out there who are different than you and shouldn’t judged them for something they can’t control. That kid didn’t ask to be born a mentally disabled and he can’t control it either. If you don’t like it when other people judged you for being born differently. Why would you judge someone else who was also born differently? *arrives at the mansion*

“Sigh, look you don’t have to apologize to the kid. I know being sorry isn’t your thing and your apologies are always half assed and you never mean them. But at least understand that just because you’re the “blood son of Batman” and in a rich family it doesn’t gave you the right to be an asshole. It also doesn’t mean you’re free from consequences and free to do whatever you want either. Remember that.”

Oh yeah. Batmom doesn't make him apologise because she knows he won't mean it and it won't fix it, so instead she tells him that, he honestly feels crappy after her speech and realises 'yeah I was an asshole'. Batmom takes the time to go to the family's house and apologise, doing what she can to make up for what happened and promises Damian will be punished appropriately. He is. He isn't allowed to patrol for a month, and Batmom and Bruce make him go with them to charity planning and meetings where he hears and sees the wrongs of the world, the people suffering because of people's selfishness, and everything his parents do to help in their position, they make him participate, let him make suggestions, and also let him get frustrated when other big companies refuse to donate or do anything to help the causes because it's 'too much/ a waste of money'. It's basically exposure therapy to make him more sympathetic and to care about those less fortunate than him and it works a treat.

On his lap sat a toddler sized Bizzaro. Bruce was sitting in the grass along with Ace and Krypto, playing fetch with the dogs. Bizzaro threw for Krypto, and he threw for Ace. He could feel the eyes of his youngest burrowing into the back of his skull. Today he had promised to take him to the amusement park, but Bizzaro didn't like large crowds. The newly toddler size experiment was in his care until further notice, having imprinted on Bruce when he opened his eyes on the battle field.

Zatanna missed worded a spell, causing the incident to occur.

"You could have went with Jason or Tim?" He said with his back to his son. Alfred was inside making lunch, Cass and Stephanie helping the old butler out.

"That's an insult to yourself, if you think I'd take their company over yours."

"What about Dick?"

"Richard doesn't do roller coasters, minus the fact of his daredevil background. Besides." He heard Damien blow a raspberry. "You promised."

"I did." Bizzaro sat in his lap, clapping his hands excitedly when Krypto brought the ball back. Bruce turned around to give a small apologetic smile to his son. "When Clark returns from his mission, we'll go."

Damien didn't show any signs of believing his Father. Rather than responding, he joined them in the grass, sitting next to Bruce. Ace came over to lay his head in the young boy's lap, not able to keep up with the Kryptonian animal.

I have nothing finished to share so instead I will share a Batman and Danny Phantom crossover idea I had because somehow a crossover between the two feel very natural. It's basically Danny Fenton gets adopted by the Wayne family after a tragedy and is uprooted in Gotham now. He continues fighting ghosts as they have followed him to the new city, Danny acts as if he a meta. This causes a lot of run ins with the resident crime fighters but he tends to barely get away from these interactions. Danny in the Wayne family seems to be disinterested with Bruce and his children, he tends to be more withdrawn and it is common for him to be completely missing, someone standoffish, and refusing to talk to about his life in details. This is because he spends much of his free time as Phantom, fighting ghosts in Gotham, and it's heavily affecting his human life.

The Wayne family, mostly Bruce, seems concerned that his newest son is hiding something. Danny is able to stand his own ground against Damien or Tim when they convince Danny to play spar or that he is able to disappear without a trace from the mansion and returned injured without any real care about it. Bruce thinks Danny is turning down a bad path in life and all current attempts from both him and his sons have been fruitless so far, instead he decides that he might be able to reign in Danny's reckless nature by letting him into the family business. Bruce tells Danny that he along with his kids are Batman and his allies and that he'll be joining them in order to for them to keep a better eye on him and maybe get some answers as to why a kid they adopted seems to be as a good of fighter as kids. Danny ends up going by the name Shrike and helps out Batman but he also now has to struggle juggling two different secret identities, especially when one is suppose to hunt the other. Things start to slip and Bruce begins to suspect that he might be dealing with something more than just a troubled teen who has seen too much tragedy.
