Danny's in his last year of high school, only a month away from graduating. No more overdue assignments or late-night cram sessions. No more crowded hallways and after-school detentions. No more stress.
He's so close he can almost taste it.
But then Dani shows up, injured and whimpering and collapsing into his lap.
He may or may not have scared the daylights out of a few lower years and almost body-slammed Dale trying to get Dani out the door and to the nearest location with first aid supplies.
So what if he spent almost an hour holed up with Dani in the nurse's office patching her up while Mr Lancer and the paramedics he called tried to coax him into unlocking the door. So what if his Obsession slipped up after not seeing Dani for more than six months, only to have her show up looking ready to destabilise and melt into a puddle of goo.
The worst part of it all is that suddenly everyone's got the wrong idea.
Over the course of his high school career, Danny's endured a lot. He's gone from being a promising student to a school-skipping degenerate with barely passable grades and a weak bladder. It's bad enough he'll always be the Fenton kid, but now he's the Fenton kid who's secretly a teen father with a kid he's been hiding since freshman year. Now he's the talk of the town and he can't escape the pointed whispers and invasive questions.
He was so, so close.

So, lets imagine that Monster (the drink, lol, i forgot to mention that) gets really fucking popular in Gotham. Like, a lot. It's desired by a mix of both villains and heroes due to its the amount of energy it provides the body and it's property to act like a life-saver (literally). Nobody has been able to trace where exactly its produced from (Batman has tried to find the source and has tried to ban it but it just somehow keeps appearing and he'd rather stock up than lose it to his opponents).
Skip to Danny (after becoming the Ghost King) trying to convince his parents that after discovering that they are selling ectoplasm to Gotham as an energy drink that it is a bad idea, not knowing that his parents had been doing it from That Day. His parents argue that its basically holy water, ensuring that people aren't getting overshadowed (Because people literally turn liminal due to drinking it).
Monster is banned in Amity Park because Wes has convinced GIW and the citizens that they're basically drinking Phantom's ghostly fluids. GIW has disposed of the 'contaminated', they are less in number because not a lot of people trust the Fentons works. This explains why its citizens keep getting overshadowed.
Selling Monster is one the main funds resources that the Fentons use for their projects. And they're only selling place is of course Gotham. They had been contacted by a kind man by the name of CW who was willing to transport it to Gotham and get their money in exchange for keeping the portal in their basement and in promise of not bringing it out of their house.
This is basically Clockwork's plan B if push comes to shove to prevent Phantom from potentially getting attacked by his parents when he does reveal himself to be their son. So by turning Gotham liminal he's basically making it Phantom's hideout from his parents, ensuring that even if ghosts enter Gotham they won't be able to make it out 'alive' because of the bats. And also knowing Bruce Wayne, Danny will have a new family in no time.
PS: Amity Park knows about the existence of Gotham, Gotham just doesn't know about Amity Park. Its just the Fentons that don't know where this 'Gotham' is, but hey, they are getting their money, so who cares? Amiright?

tl;dr Linguistic anthropology except it's about Danny Phantom???
Wake up, new danny phantom obsession just dropped ya'll:
It's time to talk about GHOST LANGUAGE!!
But not the canonical Esperanto, which is a cool and interesting decision on the show's part.
I mean the idea that the ghosts have an entirely new form of communicating that sounds like static and space and ice and fire and everything a creature can feel, all condensed into what is essentially a massive creole language!
I'm a huge fan of authors who, when describing non-esperanto based "ghost speak", choose to take a more eldritch noise approach. Danny, for instance, when using the language of the ghosts, is often said to sound like all the noise of a wintery atmosphere; words like frost, ice, static, tingle, sharp, quiet and cold are employed to connect Danny's speech with his ghost core qualities. It is a fantastic way to bring an eerie and disquieting sense to Danny, and to indicate to us readers that ghosts have a unique and deeply ingrained method of communication beyond the use of human tongues.
To read way too much into something so little, I think that this could indicate that ghosts communicate with their cores! (I know, you're like Sinorim are we back to the ghost cores??) YES, we are back to how interesting ghost cores are!!
Big Question #1: If every creature-turned-ghost that spoke some form of human tongue throughout ANY period in human history, ended up in the Infinite Realms, how would they best be able to communicate?
In Danny Phantom, what makes a ghost a ghost (beyond the whole being dead thing) is their core, and their Obsession, which can be said to be an emotionally charged motivation that stems from strong emotional stimuli during life. Ghosts are creatures of feeling, of sentiment and emotion and memory, and all of those both factor into and stem out of a ghostly core. So to make a couple leaps: if a ghost could not communicate with a human tongue to its neighbor (who would be unable to understand the words), but they both have that commonality of a core and therefore a heightened sense of emotional minutiae, I would say logically the ghosts would then begin to develop a "language" based on feeling and sense. Multiply that effect by.....infinity, tack on a couple millennia, and you end up with a ghostly wordless creole language.
Big Question #2: Since a ghost's core, and subsequently their emotional cognizance and memory, is pretty much like a human fingerprint (individual and quite distinct), how would their language output be affected, and how would others actually be able to comprehend it?
This one is as easy as the difference between po-tay-to and po-tah-to, to-may-to and to-mah-to! What?? But that's just a joke, you say?? While it is a silly set of phrases, it also really concisely demonstrates the vast diversity of pronunciation, and is basically the reason why an international phonetic alphabet exists. Between pronunciation, accents, and the development of linguistic dialects, I think I can say that, at least on the comprehension side, a universal understanding of the Big Emotional Sentiments would have developed over time.
The interesting part lies in the idiosyncrasies of memory. A little side discussion - Danny has an ice core. Why? No idea! but I'm hazarding a guess that it may have something to do with his MEMORY and the emotions he felt when he died. Perhaps he felt the cold metal of the portal walls against him, perhaps the shock itself reminded him of the numbness associated with freezing temperatures or frostbite, maybe he felt a wintery sort of loneliness (it makes sense I swear), and all of that contributed to his development of an ice core. I can use Vlad as an example too, but I'll save that for another time.
So when Danny uses the Language of the Ghosts, he is understood by other ghosts because of a collective awareness of emotional sentiments. However, because of his ice core, which was determined by his individual emotional cognizance and henceforth informs his development, his form of ghost language will always be touched by his memory of the cold. When other ghosts hear Danny in their language, they'll not only understand what he is communicating, but they'll also be able to understand who Danny is, from the little touches of his cold memory that are infused in his communicating, once again thanks to his ice-based ghostly core.
And when humans hear it, they get super bad vibes because they can't understand the sounds and memories and feelings that the ghosts trying to broadcast to them!
I'm imagining poor Danny first learning he could speak the language, and then trying to show it off with his friends and being sad that it freaks them out when all he was trying to say was "You guys are the best" T.T
Good god this turned into an entire essay.
Does any of this even make sense?
Ultimately I just think that it's super cool that authors make Danny sound like the wintery freaky eldritch creature that he could be when he's speaking to ghosts XD
To be continued!

Danny is older brother au (of Damian) and he felt when his little brother died
Ok so for how Danny ends up with the Fentons is up to you because theres a lot of ideas up for grabs and thats not the importan part. The important part is that Danny knows that Damian is his little brother, that Talia is his Mother and that Batman/Bruce Wayne is his Father
Anyways...
Ghost would typically know where their families are once they die, both the living and the dead. This helps some ghosts connect with their loved ones in the Ghost Zone in order to have some sort of home to fall back after their tragic end, but it also lets them watch and keep their only living family alive. It’s not just biological family but anyone that they consider to be family because ghost are very active when it comes to adoption. Blood has nothing to do with anything when they all were made the same way. When they all befalled into death.
But anyways...
Danny was always able to dodged his parents because of this connection, able to run and hide as well as lure them away from any other ghost before they could hurt them. This connection also helped him to make sure that Sam and Tucker were always safe when they try to help him during his fights, and later on, for Jazz as well. When the GIW came into town, the connection that he had for Jazz helped him a lot to make sure that none of those men could ever get close to Jazz in fear they could find the slight ectoplasm singles that Jazz had like any other ghost
On the other hand, Danny could feel both his Grandfather’s and Mother’s signal around the world with his Mother moving more than his Grandfather’s. Something tugged within him when he felt Damian’s signal but almost burst with happiness when Damain started to move.
He moved to Gotham, where their Father’s signal was
Danny held his breath for the longest time, waiting as months pass by to see if Damain would ever go back to the League. Yes, there were times where Damian tethered around the borders of Gotham or when his connection felt so fragile that Danny fear for his death.
But that never happened.
Damian stayed.
(He felt when his Father’s connection faded, so light and weightless that he feared that he had died. But it was still there, not gone or snapped or even changing colors from the light shade of gray to a dark black that glowed neon green. He was alive and he was still holding on.
The day that the connection burst with color was the day that Danny cried with relief and hope that he could still meet him this life.)
Danny died with an urge to protect those within the web of connections from his core, both of love and hate and guilt and sorrow and joy,
And protect he shall.
Then one day he was in the middle of a battle with one of the ghost in Amity, falling into the routine that he learned to adapted since his death. It wasn’t a hard fight nor was it easy, it felt like a spar if anything.
Then he felt it.
He felt a snap.
A horrible and loud echo or a snap that told him one thing and one thing only.
Someone had died.
The one he was supposed to protect died.
Someone died!
He stopped and panic, stopped everything to look, to search, to grab within his core to melt the ice incased in it and see who, WHO HAD DIED WHO DID HE FAIL WHO-!
Damian.
Damian is dead.
And he knows how.
Because for he is the King.
And he can see his Mother watching from afar as his brother called, no, begged for their Mother to stop.
She didn’t.
And Damian’s life met its end by a sword.
Thier is silence as Danny watched, the power of his crown had never felt both a blessing and a curse.
He watched his Mother cry as she turned away.
He watched his Father hold onto his brother as he screamed that he lost another.
He watched his brothers broken body being tugged into an embrace, an embrace he can no longer feel.
His brother was dead.
And Danny screamed.
(In the castle that was created for the King, a boy slept at the foot of the throne.)

Danny Phantom + DC Writing Prompt
Another thought I had. Haven’t really thought it all that much but it’s pretty much Danny kidnaps Damian when he still lived with the League of Assassins [LOA]. The idea for this time period is that it’s after Phantom Planet except only Danny’s family and a few others know he’s Danny Phantom (and that the rest of the world still has no idea about ghosts being real). Also, no idea if Danny is related to the Wayne/al-Ghul family or if he’s just some guy who decided to kidnap the obviously traumatized child.
Talia and Ra’s are freaking out over Damian’s kidnapping (Talia because her son is missing. Ra’s because he lost his heir). The LOA is searching all over for Damian but cannot find him. They never considered checking a small town in Illinois known for being ‘haunted’ and looking like any old tourist trap.
The Fentons, meanwhile, are ecstatic to have another family member. They already claimed that Dani (now known as Ellie) was a cousin they took in/adopted, what was one more ‘cousin turned adopted sibling’?

Y’all wanna know what kind of DP villain we missed out on?
“Old jaded college professor angry that his students discovered actual ghosts before them despite the professor dedicating even more time to trying to find them than the students”
Bonus points of the Fentons (and perhaps Vlad) were their least favorite students

I just realized something. Please keep Danny's parents far far FAR away from Raven and/or zatanna, the justice league dark in general,
jack is literally a descendant of witch hunters. We don't know how far back, he could have been raised by them, which would explain his lack of sympathy for the screaming ghosts, "if u hear screams it means it's working!"
Cuz, ya'know if a burn witch is screaming it means it's working... o.o
Just thinking about the implications of this and the semi new meta human rights laws. Danny's parents might actually be villains. Like oblivious as fuck but still villains. This makes my "Jazz has Gwen Tennyson's power set Au" so much more angst and high stakes omg.
Discuss?

Like Son, Like Mother
Danny was doing homework at the kitchen table with Jazz when he heard it. A bang, a clatter, and his father’s shout of “Maddie!”
This was not all together that unusual. But for some reason, both him and Jazz looked up from their books to glance at the basement door.
Jazz /never looked up anymore.
The silence seemed to echo.
Jazz skated her eyes over to meet his, raising a confused eyebrow. Danny shrugged in response. She shrugged back. Which was.. really not helpful honestly.
Well, only one way to find out.
Danny pushed back his chair with loud scrape and walked over to the door. He opened it and shouted down, “Dad?? Everything okay??”
There was another clatter.
“Sure is, Danno!” There was a slight waver of uncertainty to his Dad’s voice.
Danny furrowed his eyebrows, taking a step down, then another. “You sure?? Jazz and I heard a pretty loud bang and-“
Danny stopped at the bottom of the stairs, one foot still hovering, “You’re sure you’re okay?”
Jack smiled at him from where he stood in front of Maddie, “Sure as a bear, kiddo!”
Danny leaned forward, trying to peer around Jack’s form, “Mom?
Maddy hesitated but answered, “Yes honey?”
“You’re sure you’re alright?”
There was a moment of pause and then Maddie leaned out from behind her husband, goggles and suit hood on, “We’re fine sweetie, don’t worry about us.” She smiled comfortingly at him.
Danny glanced between the two of them again, before slowly starting to turn around, “Alright, if you’re sure..uh.. Have fun, I guess.” Then he turned fully up the stairs and went up the hallway. They caught a snippet of him telling Jazz it was okay before the basement door closed once more.
Jack’s shoulders drooped with a whoosh of breath and he turned back to Maddie, eyes filled with worry.
“Mads?”
Maddie tried to smile back at him, pulling back her hood and goggles with one hand.
“Don’t worry, snookums, we’ll fix this,” Maddie said, patting Jack’s shoulder.
She looked down at her other hand.
Her other hand stuck halfway through the metal of their lab table.
She sighed, a few strands of pale hair falling in her eyes as she did so.
“Somehow.”

There needs to be more content about Jazz - specifically about how she handles her brother's death.
I want to see more of Jazz's grief. The fact that she wakes up every morning and faces her little brother whom she raised when her parents didn't. The fact that she watches him eat and drink and put on his shoes and walk out the house every morning, while Jazz takes a single moment to sit at the now empty dinner table and process the fact that her brother died while the clock hanging on the wall ticks behind her and reminds her she can't be late.
I want more of Jazz knowing that grief is a part of life and mourning can be a healthy way to deal with loss, while struggling to come to terms with the fact that her brother died in the basement of the house that she currently sleeps in every night - all while her parents miss breakfast yet again in favour of tinker away in their lab.
I want to see Jazz fumbling her way through keeping up appearances while struggling to find some form of peace in between all the responsibilities she's juggling.
Sometimes it's when the glass in front of her mists up completely while she's in the shower and the water's so hot she can't see her reflection in the mirror and the steam stifles her breathing.
When she's alone in the freezer aisle staring at the packaging of Danny's favourite ice cream with only the sound of the refrigeration humming in her ears.
When she brushes her hair in the mirror and catches sight of the split ends that need to be trimmed.
When she's wading through the piles of dirty laundry in Danny's bedroom and sorting out which ones are most in need of a wash, only to look up and catch sight of the faded glow in the dark stars still stuck to his ceiling.
When she lays out her notes on the kitchen table while waiting for Dash to arrive for his tutoring lessons. The sound of footsteps walking up the driveway doesn't stop her from staring at the cracked tile above the sink, but the shrill sound of their doorbell has her stumbling from her seat, tripping over her feet while the glass of water in her hand goes rolling across the countertop.
I want Jazz to seek sanctuary in the fleeting moments of silence in her everyday life. She's still a teenager with no one to talk to. For all that she pesters Danny on speaking his mind and not keeping his worries to himself, she's an absolute hypocrite. But there isn't anything she can do about it. She's always been pitied as the most "normal" Fenton, and as long as she keeps it together and keeps herself moving then no one will notice how her parents never seem to leave the house anymore, or how she's the only one making dinner every night. No one will see the bags under her eyes, hidden beneath all the concealer and powder. People will look at her and see that they're doing okay - regardless of how many late assignments her brother hands in and the number of detention slips he's managed to accumulate.
I want to see her counting down the days till her 18th birthday while she chokes on the fact that her parents had a hand in killing her brother - that they still haven't noticed what's right in front of them, even though they should’ve. Love isn't enough to raise a child and it's something that Jazz has always been acutely aware of - something she's never had the courage to face - but now she feels goosebumps every time she hugs her dad and she's turning blue every time she meets her mother's eyes.
I want to see Jazz desperately trying to stop herself from falling apart at the seams. She's smart and far too self aware and struggling to keep her head above water. I want to see her dealing with her grief in the only way that she can with all the limited time and resources she has - all while swallowing down the guilt that she's fine and that she's okay and that she isn't even the one that died so how can she be the one feeling like she can't get enough air into her lungs when most days her brother doesn't even have a heartbeat.

DP & DC prompt 1:
Imagine danny meeting Martha and Thomas Wayne at one of Vlads Galla type things. Danny just gets dragged along to any Galla his parents are invited bc “You have to visit your uncle Vladie Danno”. So here he is, hanging out by the fruit bowl when this guy comes along and strikes up a conversation with him, and guess who it is…Alfred. So Danny gets talking to this guy bc it’s better than eating his weight at the snack table.
So their talking and then along comes a young Bruce Wayne after he to got bored of all the business talk (Bruce is like 3 years younger than he was when his parents got killed) and so he sees that Alfred has struck up a conversation with another fellow child (even if said child is older than him). So Bruce gets talking with them as well until the Galla is over. They say their goodbyes and think that this is the last time they see each other…surprise surprise it’s not!!!
Vlad actually hosts many parties every year so these three end up meeting a lot. Danny is introduced to the other Wayne’s and the Wayne’s are introduced to the Fentons. Danny actually becomes a close friend to Bruce and starts to see Alfred as a type of godfather/uncle. And Bruce’s and Danny’s parents become friends and have exchanged numbers.
After The Wayne’s are killed Danny doesn’t see Alfred and Bruce anymore. It’s when Bruce, now Batman, has a problem, a ghostly problem, at the manor that he remembers the Fentons. He thinks that Danny has probably forgotten about him and won’t remember him since it’s been so long, but when he calls the Fenton residence Danny picks up.
They then have this whole conversation about asking eachother how have they been and all that, eventually Bruce brings them back on track and asks what can be done about the ghosts and Danny goes “oh I can fix that for you, it’s a low level ghost so it won’t take long” and then says he’ll be there in a few days and then proceeds to hang up. Bruce is just standing there like ‘ok, guess we’ll be have our ghost problem fixed and an old family friend over’.
He tells Alfred and he is just happy that they will be reunited with someone from before Bruce becoming Batman and hopes the Danny can bring a more normal feel to the manor for as long as he is staying. He’s exited to introduce Danny to the bat kids bc he feels like he can hopefully become a part of the family as like an uncle of sorts that isn’t in the crime fighting profession (wishful thinking there Alfred).
When Danny arrives Bruce and Alfred were expecting someone in their like mid 30’s (I couldn’t find an exact age for Bruce when his parents are killed, just know he was between the ages 8-12) but when the open the door their is a guy who hardly looks like he is in his early 20’s. Danny’s half’s status didn’t make him immortal but it did slow his aging down. They eventually brush this off as him just having a baby face and thus making him look young. So Danny goes and says hello and all that and after a bit of reconnecting is alerted of the ghost with his ghost sense. He says he’ll go catch the ghost now and leaves. Not even 20 minutes later he is back and says he got all the ghosts. Alfred and Bruce are impressed but think nothing off it bc he was raised by ghost hunters.
Alfred then asks him to stay for dinner as he is about to leave and Danny accepts. He meets the bat kids and when Jason walks in he gets a sense that he is familiar. Danny doesn’t really act on it in the moment but he tells himself that he will get this kid (bc Danny called anyone younger than him kid) a nice cleansing bath to get rid of the rotten ectoplasm in him and replace it with clean and healthy ectoplasm.
That’s really it. Danny being a friend of the family and becoming the official “ non-hero related uncle”. Jason knows about his half’s status but doesn’t tell the rest of them. You can do whatever you want after the dinner. But yeah…that’s it.

Giant Danny:
We have a bunch of headcannons where Danny is a forever tiny gremlin of a being, but I want a Danny that towers most tall people even close to the tallest person on earth.
Plus why was Pariah Dark that tall? was it his hoard of power he amassed as king, if so then Ghost king Danny should be tall too.
I don't mind tall Jazz, but at 14, he is aloud to grow bigger than where his torso is as big as his dad hand. Let Maddie be the shortest, with Jazz, then Jack and finally danny when he stands up straight.
