Tim: Hey, do you know the password to Damian’s computer?
Duke: Fuck you, Tim.
Tim: Hey!!
Duke: No, you misunderstood, the password is "fuckyouTim".
Tim: Oh, no numbers? Not very safe.
Reader: Get on my level!
Steph: Unfortunately, to "get on your level" I'd need a boat trip to the Mariana Trench and a pair of cinderblock shoes.
*Dick is fighting a monster*
Barbara : Just stay calm! You already have everything you need to beat it!
Dick: The power to believe in myself!?
Barbara : No, a knife! Stab it!
Reader: Sorry I'm late, I was doing stuff.
Jason: YOU PUSHED ME DOWN THE FUCKING STAIRS!
Damian: Tim, this morning, I called you abhorrent and reprehensible, and I’d like to withdraw that statement-
Tim: Aww, thanks-
Damian: But I can't. Those are the 2 words that best describe you.
Reader: So, Steph is no longer allowed to take the trash out at night.
Cassandra: Why?
Reader: Because I've caught her trying to train raccoons to fight five times in a row.
Steph, arms crossed and pouting: You'll be thanking me when the third raccoon battalion saves your ass.

Would the bat kids be pissed if WB!reader had half sibling counter parts to them from their mom that they actually liked?
Idk if that makes sense-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bio: Yeah, I get it. So, the reader's mom remarried, and now they have cool siblings whom they don't even call half-siblings because they consider them their siblings.
Tumblr media
Just think about it: Reader has a great relationship with their half-siblings but a horrible relationship with their adopted ones. Think about it, Reader coming back home to their childhood house just to see that half the links are like the coolest people ever. The two of you used to play outside until the streetlights were on, watching movies that your mom would never let you watch if she wasn't home. Your older brother used to give you crazy piggyback rides and fling you around the house like you weighed little to nothing. He’d drive you around and take you to places. One time, he took you on a date because "Mommy said I had to come." So now he's on a date with a pretty girl, and you’re right next to him, stealing his fries. You are the victim of your twins always messing with you, pulling pranks, and playing with your hair. One time, you had a thousand beads and barrettes stuck in your hair because you decided to take a nap in front of them. These people aren’t just your half-siblings; when people say, "Isn't he your half-brother? Aren't the twins your half-siblings?" you say no—they are siblings, and you'll die by that fact. So when they decide to visit you all the way from California to Gotham, you're ecstatic. You and your brother have this crazy handshake that’s enough to make Duke jealous. You're playing around with the twins, manhandling those little sickos, and it’s making Damian jealous for some reason, even though he’s acting all serious. Immature deep down, he’d rather be the one getting piggyback rides and being held upside down. Why is Dick getting jealous that you're calling your brother "big brother"? You even got your brother in the first place; he's your adopted brother, but there’s still a small pain in his chest when you do it. Jason’s face scrunches up when you ask for a ride, but you’re not talking to him; you're talking to your brother. Tim gets mad when you take one of his games, thinking it’s some trick to get you to play with him, but in reality, your big brother loves that game, and so do the twins. Why are Steph and Cass getting envious of some kids playing double Dutch with you? They’re not five, but it still isn’t fair; they’re not strangers. I mean, you've been living in this house for years, so is blood really thicker than water? But they, are your half-siblings still a Wayne? You have the last name, after all.

Headcanon about Jason’s and Alfred’s birthday that is five days late BUT:
From any batkid’s perspective other than Dick and Jason’s, it’s just a known fact that Alfred does not celebrate his birthday. No one even knows when it is.
They’ve tried asking him. He won’t budge. It doesn’t help that none of them even know his correct age so they can’t go off of that either.
“Why won’t you let us celebrate your birthday, Alfred?” Steph asked one day while everyone else was around.
“There’s no reason for me to celebrate anymore. I’ve had enough birthdays.”
Not even Bruce will budge on the matter.
Then, long after Jason comes back. Only once he finally reconnects with his family, does anything happen.
Tim walks into the kitchen one day and sees Alfred and Jason at the counter, bowls around them. “What are you two doing?”
“Baking a cake,” Alfred responded. Tim could see the chocolate flavouring from here.
“Can I help?” Cass spoke up from behind Tim.
Jason turned, a stern, cold glare on his face, “No.”
Alfred reached up and tugged on Jason’s ear for a moment before continuing to stir, turning to face the other kids, “It’s a tradition. Best to keep to it.”
That night, they all sat at the dinner table. Alfred set down the cake in front of Jason, who sat at the head of the table with everyone around him.
Damian was the first to notice the writing, “What is this?”
Everyone leaned a little closer. Surrounded by burning candles, in neatly scrawled white icing in cursive font read, “Happy Birthday Jason!"
Then below it, in thick, sloppy, capital letters, read "+ ALFRED"
Everyone’s confused except Dick and Bruce.
“Why is Alfred’s name on the cake?”
“Because it’s his birthday, too? I don’t see what the big fuss is.”
After everything is explained and cake is handed out, there comes to be a mutual, unspoken understanding.
Alfred had lost his reason to celebrate his birthday. Now, after all these years, he had it back.

The pain faded when you turned sixteen, only having a phantom ache when one more stray was added to your ‘family’. There was no reason to wonder why they were so uninterested in your life, for as long as you could remember, they had been creatures of the night, and you were the anomaly. Oddly enough.
At first, they tried to integrate you into their lifestyle, but it was hard when all you craved was love, affection, and a place to call home. So they grew uninterested. The worst you ever felt was hearing snide remarks and playground bullying just because you were different.
Your interest lies in the arts that weren’t comparable to figuring out the Riddler's plans or stopping the Joker. To the world, you were most impressive, but after a while even the praise from others meant nothing. Resentment grew easily of course, being giggled at when you left the room was beyond degrading and insufferable. But when offered a spot in one of New York’s best schools for the arts, every memory that left you crying leaped clean off your chest.
A brand new start in a new city—the best city— is exactly what you need. Packing was a challenge as you couldn’t bring the heart to throw away everything and leave without a suitcase and a part of you felt like you would return to the manor one day, so you left everything reminding you of Gotham.
The last thing on your plate before you left would be telling Bruce. You stalked down the gothic halls filled with priceless paintings and old photos, elated, you planned to simply ask for money and be out of his hair.
No more crying, pleading, begging your pseudo father to have interest shown towards you. You knocked on the door to his office, waiting patiently before he let out a tired grunt to come in. He looked up at you, gaze meeting, his eyes lingering for only a second before focusing back on his papers.
“ Y/n.”
“ Father, I need money for a flight to New York.”
He paused his writing, looking up at you curiously. You went on to briefly explain that you were accepted into a new school and would be leaving later that night. You bit your lip anxiously, wondering why he suddenly looked so shocked by what you said, he had always known about your love for music, dance, and drawing, not that he truly paid any mind to your ‘senseless babbling’ as he would call it.
“ Do you want one of my credit cards?” he questioned, finally redirecting his intense stare back to his work.
“ Yes, that will do.”
He hummed and shooed you away by telling you Alfred would give you everything you needed before your flight. Walking back to your room, that phantom pain visited your chest cavity. Even knowing you were leaving didn’t truly spark anything in him and you thought you knew better than to expect a reaction other than indifference. The little girl in you finally let the last ember of hope fade out that day.
The flight to New York was brisk but you're glad you chose it. Alfred offered to just drive you, but it would be dreadful having to show your dorm and lifestyle change from the mansion. Although he wasn’t as unkind to you as the others, Alfred never once stopped the rude comments or showed interest in anything about you, not even in what you liked to eat. What was the point of having an uncomfortable ride?
New York was exhilarating, the city is exactly as described and you couldn’t be more in love. The city was alive and electric, it breathed hopes and dreams to anyone who stepped inside. It was easy to make friends, the school was heavily social and you quickly settled into this new life.
Parties during spring break and recognition for your talents had you in a multitude of social circles you couldn’t even recognize the girl you had become. A newfound confidence in every stride and a smile that never left your face. Now and then you would get some calls, unknown numbers, plus a few in between those calls from Bruce.
It was strange but you ignored both, getting a new number all together because Bruce would never care about your slight over-the-top spending habits to call you about it. Maybe he was beginning to see what he was missing out on, oh well. The heat of the city was something you barely felt under all the smog of Gotham, the pollution seldom let you see the blue of the sky.
New york was full of people who knew who they were, and what they wanted, and even if they were unsure they stood confident. You embraced it, dressing in clothes that would’ve had you outcasted in Gotham and its gothic glory, letting the colors dance on the bronze of your skin. The caterpillar finally became a butterfly, oh so radiant, that must be what drew everyone into you.
When the semester finally came to its end, furthermore, you had presented your final piece, performed a new play, sending off the graduates and the other students off with glee, you decided it was time for a vacation. “Y/n, do you have any plans for the summer?” your friend asked while the two of you lounged at a small cafe.
“ I think we should go to the Hamptons if you don’t have anything planned.”
“ I’ll be overseas for the first two weeks of July, I would love to go in August.”
While you spent the first days of summer lounging under the sun, the bats were still surrounded by darkness, following their same routine. It was one of those days where everyone decided to linger around the cave.
Bruce was oddly glued to his phone screen even when his youngest son tried getting his attention by throwing a knife at him. Easily dodging and continuing to tap away only made the young boy angrier. “ Father, we need to continue training, what has you so distracted?”
“ We can train later, Damien, I’m very busy,” he grumbles.
All of his children suddenly stopped what they were doing, curiosity beginning to peak, could it be a new villain? The joker again? With one look from Dick to Jason to Tim his screen was easily pulled up onto the large monitor. It was a surprise to all when they saw your face, smiling and radiant all over the screen. “ Since when did Y/n have social media?” Barbra spoke up.
“ Recently. Since she…moved to New York for school,” Bruce replied. On the screen, a video appeared, you were accepting an award for one of your paintings. The family became engrossed in the new life you had, telling Bruce to click comments and click on your friends' pages.
Jason was irritated, he can’t even remember the last time he saw you, and Bruce never told anyone you were just going to up and leave. “ Why didn’t you tell us she was going to New York? When did she even leave?” He barked at Bruce. Bruce sighed, looking up at him, “ Well, when she left we were dealing with Penguin and you weren’t around until two months ago so I just never got to it.”
“Well, why didn’t you tell the rest of us? Dick or Tim could’ve told me if you told literally anyone else.”
Bruce shrugged his shoulders, turning back to his screen, “ Well, now you know Jason, and so does everyone else.” Bruce was becoming agitated by questions, he wanted to continue looking at your little life you’ve been building, watching his little girl laugh and smile made him feel bittersweet.
He was beginning to realize how little time the two of you spent together and how he would ignore you whenever you tried to make a connection. He should be there giving you flowers and taking you sightseeing, but you left all on your own only asking for a credit card. The others went on their way, four of them becoming increasingly interested in this new and improved Y/n Wayne.
After a grueling night, the four men of the bunch return to the manor, without word, they had Tim pull up everything involving you dating back five years. The pictures became sparse when you got younger, but it was evident you had always been obsessed with art no matter what form it took.
Hacking into your social media was angering, not just because of what they saw behind your public posts, but because of the ease of your passwords. Throughout your posts were dances, paintings, you at galleries, and you with friends… who were also bad influences to a sixteen year old girl. When diving deeper, they knew they might find things they didn’t like, such as videos on your google photos of you at parties.
All but one adorned red ears and everyone was forced to look away, not being able to bear witness to you being as reckless as they were at your age. Wanting to keep their image of you, their baby girl, squeaky clean.
You painted your first days of summer away, relaxing in your dorm finally having some alone time for the first time in almost a year. It was the most peace you’ve had in life, you should’ve known there was no way in hell that this was truly your life now.
Too good to be true. It was just too fuckin good to be true. As your first week of summer break ended and you were enjoying the breeze in central park your phone rang, looking down at your bright screen the caller ID read Bruce Wayne. Your scrunched your face, irritation filtering into your spirit. You answer trying your best not to sigh as he began speaking.
“ Y/n, are you busy right now?”
“ No Br-father,”
“ O-oh well I wanted to talk to you about returning to Gotham for a while.” Bruce spoke, trying to hide the fact that he was flabbergasted. You almost called him Bruce before quickly correcting yourself. New York has done a number on his baby girl.
You snatch the phone from your ear almost ferociously, return to gotham he said? Return to the place where you spent over a deade miserable? Someone better have died again for you to even consider something so preposterous.
“ Um I don’t know if I can return any time soon, I have a trip planned and I’m working on a few paintings that I want to submit for a show in September.” You spoke.
He smiled into the phone, the slight waver of your voice let him know you were lying. He hummed thoughtfully, “ I’ll send Alfred over now and we can bring your paintings, and over dinner we will discuss this trip you plan on going on and with who.” You couldn’t hide your bewilderedness, you almost forgot you weren’t speaking to just anyone but Bruce Wayne. A billionaire who could make anything happen including but not limited to sending over his butler to gather his daughter’s painting in under an hour.
“ I’m honestly just not too keen on being in Gotham—Listen father I have to get back to my work.” With that you hung up your phone rushing to the nearest exit of the park throwing out what was left of a drink you were carrying. You rushed to your dorm, not even to pack an over night bag but to simply gaze at it lovingly.
This space, this mini apartment meant the world to you and every part of it showcased memories old and new. In this moment non of it felt real, it was all dream like to you.
The sun seeped in through the windows, reaching all the way to your ankles illuminating your dorm in a warmth that Gotham probably only experienced before the existence of humans. Your phone buzzed again and it was a message from Alfred letting you know he would be in front of your dorm in less than twenty minutes.
You bit your lip while a sense of dread washed over you. Such a familiar feeling but the last few months had you believing you’d never experience it again. You’d have to face Bruce and that whole godforsaken family again when you had just gotten used to thinking that part of your life had possibly been a figment of your imagination.
You laugh at yourself, thoughts running amuck when you knew you now had fifteen minutes to back a bag and put your painting into something that wouldn’t damage it during the drive. You lull your head back and clap your hands before quickly moving around the apartment gathering your belongings.
When the car pulled up your body fought itself. Run back inside, hide underneath your bed and turn off your phone pretend as if you’d ran away or maybe you didn’t hear— do something but don’t get in that car— do not go back to Gotham. You gave alfred a polite smile that vanished when you turned your head back to the road.
Small talk was even more aggravating when you genuinely didn’t want to associate yourself with people. Your grew angry when the drive was nearing its end, Gotham and New York were too close for your liking and you had little to no time to prepare and rehearse the made up conversations in your head. The manor came into view and your eyes almost buldged out of your head when Bruce was waiting for you outside the manor door with his youngest little goblin.
You got out of the car, heels scrapping the pavement and extending you an extra pillar of strength. Your eyes met neither Bruce or Damien but you held your head high as they observe you. Bruce smiled at you walking over and embracing you. You were frozen in place.
“ Y/n you look beautiful, I hope your ride was pleasant.”
When he realized you weren’t moving to embrace him back he released you stepping back to look you in your eyes. Your lifted an eyebrow and side stepped him following Alfred into the manor trying to shake off the confusion within your spirit. The manor was dark and unwelcoming all but screaming at your bright colors to leave at once.
You grounded yourself with the sound of your heels stalking through the cold manor to your room feeling Damien and your father’s presence behind you. Alfred helped you settle into your room while the two watch, you felt like you were under a microscope from how hard their eyes burned into your every being and movement.
“ Y/n why don’t you show your brother and I your new painting—”
“ Father can yo please just tell me what the fuck is going on? Why are you behaving as if you even care about a single thing I do? Why am I back at the manor and why on earth was it so important for me to get picked up almost immediately after your weird phone call?” You couldn’t stand another minute of this weird shit.
Why was hovering over you pretending like he cared about you? You knew who bruce Wayne was, especially the Bruce who presetented towards you, his odd child, the child who didn’t have any interest in being a vigilante. The chil he neglected and let get bullied and ridiculed by his other other children who thought she was a useless accessory for the Wayne’s public name.
Bruce sighed, he knew he shouldn’t have come on so strong right off the bat but he couldn’t help himself. He was enamored by the way you simply came out of the car like you couldn’t care any less to be here. You, one of his first children along with Dick whom he barely paid any attention due to his life as Batman.
He had no words that would southe you, he along with the rest of your siblings were riddled in guilt and admiration for you. He knew how the children spoke about you, but he never stepped in due to knowing that although they might sound harsh to outsiders the children were always somewhat jealous of your carefree life that they themselves know they could never have.
Out of every kid you were the one who had absolutely no interest in him as Batman and becoming one of the vigilanties under his wing. You did whatever you wanted to do without thinking there is a possibility of your identity being revealed and you would need to spend all night fighting someone or something twice your size.
Bruce was only now realizing that you had been ostrasized from them, his baby probably thinking she was hated for simply existing. Without letting his small smile drop from his face he walked in your room further sitting on the edge of your bed. “ I called you because I knew summer had just started and I wanted you to come home, the manor has been empty without you as you know most of your siblings don’t live here anymore.”
“ I’ll save the in depth version of this coversation for dinner as I have invited over the entire family to welcome you back… and Y/n, I care about you very much.” You gave him an incredulous look as he got up, pat your head, and walked out with Alfred and Damien.
The little demon only sparring you a glare once more before following his father. A wave of nausea unearthed itself in the pit of your stomach.

consider : you, who are too aware for your own good . .
Tumblr media
you, who’ve recently moved to Gotham, a 19 year old uni student working a part-time job at a local café, trying desperately to make ends meet. you really don’t bother with all that vigilante and supervillain junk, always get home before 12:00 and stick to crowds.
but after a close call, getting nearly mugged and yet saved by a certain masked vigilante- red robin, maybe, judging by the red and the big yellow R on his chest- you think, ‘hey, this looks an awful lot like that one rich kid of Bruce Wayne’s.” and in an adrenaline-induced daze, you blurt out just what you were thinking; “You’re Tim Drake.”
He was only silent for a while (it was difficult to read him, even without the eye-mask- though you hadn’t seen him without it. It’d be much easier if you did) before he’d brushed you off with a small laugh and left you to walk home. Let’s say he kept a close eye on you that night.
The next morning, you woke up after a horrible dream and a terrible headache. The first thing you do; go to your phone, search up ‘the Waynes’. Compare each image of each individual to each image of each vigilante frequenting in Gotham and.. oh god. You’ve been proper enlightened. Will the cops be after you? No, you won’t tell anyone! They have no reason to!
Maybe the vigilantes will be after you.
..No! They’re meant to help people. They wouldn’t do something like that. Not to you.
However, the lack of danger in your path and the pitter-patter of footsteps on the roofs (the ones that are closer to the ground, at least) each night while walking home, sounding different everyday (though there’s almost a pattern. Mondays, they’re barely there, but you know it is. And it’s not belonging to one pair of feet. Tuesdays, they’re almost airy, but quick. Not like they’re running, more like they’re walking faster. Wednesdays, they’re a bit heavier, like the person’s a bit bigger, but that can’t be right. Thursdays, they’re familiar. Fridays, they’re like the tuesdays but they’re definitely running. And Saturdays, they’re not there. You think they’re not, at least- but you can feel the eyes boring into your nape, and you’d like to trust your instinct.) beg to differ.
Now, on a scale of one to ten, how absolutely fucked are you?

A/n: so I made this since I got a random urge to wanting to read black widow! Reader x Batman but I found none, so when in doubt make your own! ALSO! It also has gotten longer than i had originally planned so I will making this into a series ^^
Tumblr media
Slowly waking up, you turned to the sides seeing the sunlight peeking through the curtains to keep the room dark, or at least dark as it possibly can with the sun being out now.
After a few seconds of you looking at the windows you slowly stretched your arms upwards, letting out a yawn in the process causing your eyes to water a bit as you sat up.
"Morning." You said softly as you looked at the man that was asleep next to you, as you ran your hand through his black hair.
Bruce shifted a bit in his sleep as he felt your fingers being ran through his hair. Smiling softly at him of his movement you leaned in,giving him a kiss on his cheek.
His eyes soon fluttered open at the action, looking up at you as he smiled at her sitting up. "Morning love." He said, his morning voice making him sound more deeper than usual as he leaned in to you kissing your lips as you kissed him back.
Pulling away from the kiss you got out of bed as you started to get changed into your outfit for the day. "So you have anything planned for us today?" You asked.
Today was a special day for Bruce and you, which was why you asked. As of today it was your guys 3rd year anniversary.
"You think I didn't plan anything for us today?" He asked, getting up from the bed as well as he wrapped his arms around your waist kissing your neck softly.
You hummed as his lips met your neck, you could just melt at his touch.
"No.." you spoke as you turned your head slightly to look at him. "I was just asking since I was also planning on something."
"Oh?" He said a small smile on his face as he placed his chin on your shoulder to look at you.
"Yeah." You replied, fixing the shirt you had put on.
"I have something too." He said as he went to start changing into clothes he'll wear for today.
"But l'll give it to you after what you have planned." He looking over at you as he continued to get dress.
"Well now you're making me eager to figure out what it is." You said, a smile on your face as you walked out of the room.
"Don't worry I'm sure you'll like what I got you."
He called out in reply from the room.
Walking down into the kitchen you smiled as you saw Damian sitting in the kitchen eating his breakfast.
"Morning early bird." You said as you walked over to him ruffling his hair as you went to make a cup of coffee for Bruce and you.
Damian looked up at you as you spoke ruffling his hair. Once you finally moved away from him, he kept his eyes on you. "Morning..." he mumbled as he spoke.
"Morning Ms McGee." Alfred spoke as he handed her a plate with the breakfast he had made.
"Ah thank you Alfred." You said grabbing the plate as you placed it on the counter next to you. "But I told you so many times you can call me y/n." You said before taking a piece of food that was on the plate.
"I don't get why you still bother with that." Dick said as he walked into the kitchen grabbing a plate as he started to fill it up with things he planned to eat for the morning.
You can't help but let out a huff of a chuckle as you poured Bruce and yourself a cup of coffee as you took a sip of the cup you poured for yourself.
"I know but I think I've been here long enough."
"Maybe a little too long." Jason said as he walked into the kitchen looking at you as he grabbed toast that was out and poured himself a cup of orange juice.
"Morning to you too Jason." You just replied with as you looked at him as you ate your breakfast, as you soon spotted Cassandra and Stephanie both coming into the kitchen together. "Morning you two."
"Morning y/n!" Steph said as she walked to the table. "Morning." Cass said right after also taking a seat at the table in the kitchen.
After that Tim walked in followed by Duke coming into the kitchen as well as you greeted them both as they entered.
Soon Bruce finally came down and you smiled as you saw him giving him a kiss on the lips, which caused Damian to turn his head rolling his eyes.
Once you pulled away from the kiss you handed Bruce the cup of coffee you had poured for him.
"So..." Cass said as she took a sip of her cup of tea. "When is y/n going to join us and get her own costume?" She asked, looking at the two of them.
You had a smile on your face but just shook your head at question as you rolled your eyes at it.
"Well-"
"Never." You cut off Bruce before he could finish.
"And why’s that?" Damian asked, raising his eyebrow at you.
"I just don't fight." You simply said as you drank your cottee.
With that Cass let out a sigh. "I was really hoping another girl would join." She mumbled
Tumblr media
It was the afternoon. Bruce was out with Tim for a social event, you didn't come with them since Bruce knew you didn't like going to public events.
Dick and Damian were both in the batcave training with each other.
Duke was out on patrol.
Steph and Cass were most likely upstairs, hanging out with each other in either one of their rooms.
Jason was.. well who knows where Jason is half of the time.
And you? You were in the kitchen as you had started to prepare what you wanted to make for Bruce and yours anniversary dinner.
You had asked Alfred if he can get you one of the best wines that Bruce will like, and hearing the front door open and then close it brought to your attention his arrival back to the manor.
"Here you go Ms McGee." He said handing you the bottle of wine he had purchased.
"Thank you Alfred." You said happily, giving him a smile as you placed the wine in a cabinet before heading back over to season the meat once more.
After you had prepared the meat you put it back in the refrigerator, as you started to take out what you needed to make the sauce for the paste you heard the door ring.
"I'll get it Alfred!" You called out as you stopped what you were doing and headed to the door.
"Hello how can-" You stared as you opened the door but soon cut yourself off. "Natasha..." You said more softly as you saw the familiar red hair female in front of you.
"Well, look at you living the life." She said with a smile on her face as she looked at you through the sunglasses she was wearing.
"What are you doing here?.." Was all you can really think of as you just looked at her.
"I need your help." Natasha replied as she looked at you.
"If you need help go get help from S.H.E.l.L.D or the other avengers or something." You said in a low voice too scared anyone would hear you.
"It would only risk the mission." She told you in reply. "Besides, you know Gotham better than them or me." She added.
"Who is it?" You heard Alfred ask you.
"Oh it's no one." You replied, turning to look at him as you smiled. "Just a Girl Scout selling cookies." You told him, making him nod his head in reply before he walked away out of eye and earshot.
"Follow me..." You told Natasha as you moved out of her way, letting her enter before closing the door. You soon made your way up the room that Bruce had given you to do your pottery before closing it and locking it once Natasha entered.
"Do they know?" Natasha asked as she looked at you.
"No, why would they know?" You said as she took a seat in the stool that was in the room. "You helped me bury my past, I've been able to live in peace for 5 years... why would I ruin it?"
"I was just asking..." Natasha said as she looked around at the room that was mainly filled up with vases as she examined them.
You stood quite for a bit as you just observed her.
"What do you need my help with?" You finally asked.
"It has to do with the court of owls-"
"If it has to deal with the court of owls then don't worry, let the bat deal with it." You cut her off
“You didn't let me finish.” She said leaning against the wall as she crossed her arms as she looked at you.
After a few more seconds of silence Natasha finally spoke again. “It doesn't just have to do with the court of owls but also hydra.”
Heading that made you just stand there in shock. “Hydra and the court of owls are working together?..” You asked, making sure you understood what she was saying.
Natasha nodded her head. “I was following some hydra agents to Gotham trying to figure out why they were coming here.” She said as she walked a bit closer to you. “When I finally got to them after some integration they told me that they came here to meet the court of owls today and that they weren’t the only ones.” She told you.
“Did they tell you where they were going to meet them?” You asked.
“They didn’t but it wasn’t hard to find this.” She said going through her pocket as she handed you a small card.
Standing up grabbing it you turned it around to look at it until you spotted the location on the card.
“You think this is where they are meeting?”
“It has to be.. I’ve been watching them for weeks and they walked around the area close to this location more than I count.”
“…Did they tell you why they were meeting them?” You finally asked.
“No, that’s what I need to find out and why I want you to help me.” She answered. “It’s one thing if it was just hydra and the court of owls have never been a threat for us at S.H.E.I.L.D, but if they are starting to work with hydra then they’re becoming more of a threat not just in Gotham but outside.”
You just hummed, nodded your head in agreement. “Yeah… it can’t be good. But I can’t help.” You told her. “Today is Bruce and I's 3rd year anniversary and I was planning on making dinner for us… you should ask someone else you know…”
“I would but not many of them are good at undercover missions and they won’t make it here on time.”
“I don’t do that anymore, you-“
“Y/n please.” Natasha cut you off. “I know you don’t do this anymore, but I’m not asking you as a former assassin, I’m asking you to help as a friend.” She told you. “I know you don’t want to do this type of work anymore, but you and I both know that if Hydra is here then it’s not good for you or this family you have.”
You stood quiet. You knew she was right, that was the whole reason why you never went out in public with Bruce, why you changed your last name, had a small quiet jobbed, why you did everything to hide your past.
It wasn’t because you were ashamed of your past or that you were trying to hide away from the red room (since you knew it was taken down by Natasha), but you were hiding cause you knew if anyone from hydra found you again they’ll “take back what’s theirs”.
“…no you’re right…” You said as you walked over to an old vase you had made. “It can’t be good for me or this family…. Even if they might be able to handle themselves.”
You soon pushed the vase to the floor causing it to break as it revealed what you had put inside. Your old widow suit, two pistols, and widows bite bracelet.
“How long do you think it’ll take?” You asked her as you picked up the items from the floor.
“An hour maybe 2.” Natasha answered. You just hummed at that as you went to put the items in a bag.
“Do you plan on us using a disguise, or are we just gonna break in?”
“Oh don’t worry, the two guys I got were given owl masks, we would have to use them to get in.”
“Then what are we waiting for?” You asked as you started to leave the room heading to the front as you grabbed your brown slouch coat.
“Alfred, I'm heading out with a friend.” You called out as Natasha followed, as she got a glance at the butler.
Alfred nodded his head as he looked over at the red head woman next to you.
“I understand, and who might you be.” He asked mostly to the other woman.
“An old friend.” Natasha replied as the two of you left the manner.
Tumblr media
“Hmm I still look good in this.” You said to yourself a smile on your face as you looked at yourself in the mirror, checking yourself out in the black jumpsuit.
The two of you had gone to the apartment that Natasha was staying in, while in Gotham to pick up some things.
“I’m surprised it still fits.” She said a bit teasingly
“And what’s that supposed to mean?” You raised your eyebrow as you looked at her.
“Just that you haven’t worn that thing in over 5 years.” She said as she walked over to you handing you a white owl looking mask. “You need this.”
“Thanks.” You responded as you put on your coat once more to hide the weapon that were attached to your body before putting the mask in the pocket.
You watched as Natasha do the same thing before the two of you walked out, heading the car she was using.
You got into the passenger seat at the same time as Natasha, and right as she started the car you two heard a phone ringing, and you knew instantly it was your phone.
Pulling it out you saw the caller ID was Bruce so you immediately picked it up.
“Hey y/n, Alfred told me you went out with an old friend?” You heard him through the other side of the phone.
“Oh yeah. I was actually going to call you about that right now…” You told him. “I didn’t know she would be here, but she wanted to catch up.”
“I didn’t know you knew many people outside of Gotham..” He said.
“Yeah… she's an old friend, we don't talk a lot…” you told him. “But I actually wanted to let you know we kind of got caught up with something. She needs my help with something.”
“What does she need your help with?”
“… pottery..” Was all you can think of saying.
“Pottery really?” Natasha mouths to you quietly as you look over at her seeing she’s holding in a laugh.
You just shrugged. “I didn’t know what else to say.” You mouth back to her quietly.
“Yeah, I don’t know a thing about pottery or what type of clay to use and I knew y/n can help me, sorry for taking her away from you for a while.” Natasha said loud enough so she can be heard through the other side of the phone.
“Yeah… we just left the place she’s staying at now so I can get what I need to teach her… so I’ll probably be late for the dinner I wanted to plan for us…” Was all you told him as you looked at the road in front of you.
“It’s okay… I got caught up in some work of my own, Dick, Tim, and Damian are coming with me for it.” He said, causing you to nod your head even though he can’t see you do it.
“Hmm then maybe I’ll get home before you.” You joked with a smile on your face.
“Hmm maybe, maybe.” He replied and you can just imagine him saying it with a smile on his face.
“Stay safe okay…”
“I will.”
“I love you Bruce..”
“I love you too y/n.”
And with that you hung up the phone, putting the phone away as you turned to look at Natasha.
“We should be at the place in 20 minutes.” She told you and you just donned your head in response letting out a deep sigh you didn’t realize you were holding.

.Face of another.
Aunt reader <3333 not really a chapter 🤷🏽‍♀️ this is just a like outline of how I went things to goooo
Tumblr media
It was a regular night, but you guess not. All the bats and birds were focused on a new interesting case, to interesting to pay attention to the shadowy figure only six feet away.
You were expecting better from the infamous Bats and birds. You had heard a lot, especially about Batman.
Oh
Oh how big he’s grown, oh he’s almost pasted you height.
“Oh Damian, how’ve big you’ve gotten.” You couldn’t help but to whisper. It was like just yesterday he was asking you to read him a bedtime story.
“Did anyone hear that?” A boy around 17, with black and blue eyes said. If you hadn’t done some research you would have thought he was Bruce’s biological son.
You had supposed they would have noticed you sooner or later. You aren’t trying that hard to keep your presence unknown.
“Who’s there.” A deep voice said, has your gaze turned to the one who muttered those words.
Jason
You had not been that close to the boy when he ‘joined’ the league. You held respect for him though, his relationship with Damian was good.
“ apologies, for interrupting. Sell I come by another time? You all seem busy.” You said, taking your time stepping out of the shadows.
“Talia, what are you doing here” Bruce asked stepping in front of Damian.
“Bruce.. Don’t call me my sisters name.”
Safe to say the bats were shocked, sister they never heard of Talia having a sister. Of Ra’s having another daughter!? Who would want to have two kids with him?
And you and Talia looking almost identical? Oh boy that was even weirder and you both sounded alike, who’s to say you weren’t Talia with a parm!
They didn’t trust you, and you could tell by the way they all held their weapons up.
“I’m not here to harm any of you, I’m simply visiting my nephews.”
“How do we know you’re not Talia? What if you’re just trying to take Damian away!” This time dick answered, he was holding up his little electrified glow sticks.
A chuckle
You let out a loud chuckle. Because if you really wanted to take Damian back you would have already done it.
“I am Talia twin sister, [reader Al ghul] the heart demon.”
Tumblr media
“Father, we need to have a conversation” Talia said, walking into her father’s personals office.
“Talia what is it? I’m busy”
“It’s about [reader], she’s back.. back for Damian”
Tumblr media
Guys I know it’s little but like 😔I was running out of ideas, if you are confused, just ask about it!!

The Waynes' Nanny
Batfamily and Reader/ Bruce Wayne x Reader Chapters Ao3
What is Bruce's Nanny?
“I’ll take ‘Literature Classics’ for six hundred, Alex.”
You were mentally answering the question before the contestants could get a chance to press their buzzers, proud when you got the question right. The kids had been tucked in over an hour ago, and you’d finally claimed a rare moment to yourself. Curled up on the TV room couch, a red blanket draped over your legs, you nursed a glass of chilled white wine in one hand and a half-finished crossword puzzle book in the other. By the time Jeopardy! started, the book had been all but forgotten.
Bruce entered not long after, clearly just as surprised to see you there as you were to see him. You both let out soft, awkward laughs—surprised, maybe, that neither of you had claimed some other corner of the mansion. Without a word, he settled on the opposite end of the couch, dividing his attention between a thick work report, a glass of scotch, and the TV screen.
“The Dashwood sisters are characters found in this early nineteenth-century novel by Jane Austen.”
“Sense and Sensibility!” You both answered in unison.
There was a pause where you both realized you had answered the question aloud. Then came matching bashful chuckles.
“I totally answered that first,” You teased.
Bruce snorted, eyes going back to his report. “Sure, if that’ll help you sleep at night.”
You feigned offense and jokingly threw a pillow at him, though he dodged it with excellent ease. The conversation died out afterwards, your attention going back to Alex Trebek on the screen. It was nice to have company that wasn’t asking you to put the straw in their Capri-Sun or telling you that their shoes came untied yet again. It was quiet, comfortable.
Unfortunately, it never lasted long.
Not that you ever minded.
Cassandra appeared at the edge of the room, moving slowly. She inched toward the couch in hesitant steps until she stopped in front of the TV, eyes wide and sleep-heavy.
You immediately straightened, setting your wine glass on the end table.
“Cassandra?” You said, causing Bruce to look up. “What’s wrong, baby?”
She looked to Bruce before training her gaze back onto you. If she weren’t always extremely quiet, you would have been more concerned. Cassandra didn’t look distressed, just drowsy and indecisive, like she was debating where to crash. After a moment’s pause, she climbed up onto the couch and curled up beside you.
You lifted the blanket for her to settle under, wrapping one arm around her shoulders as she curled into your side. Once she was settled, Bruce reached over to scratch her back.
“Everything okay, sweetheart?”
Cassandra nodded. “I just wanted to cuddle.”
You looked up at Bruce, biting back a smile, as you settled deeper into the cushions. Luckily, the couch was extremely comfortable, so you had no qualms about being trapped there by an eleven-year-old girl.
“I hope you like Jeopardy, Cassie,” You whispered.
There was a beat of silence. Then, with the unfiltered honesty only kids seem to master, she murmured, “Is that the show old people watch?”
Bruce and you looked at each other, clearly offended but also not able to say she was exactly wrong.

hello author!
I’m a totally different, definitely not the anon who sent the previous post!
So…out of curiosity…if fd reader was filling in for robin ( I assume this is pre- red robin-or would reader act as a double for red as well?)
and they got sucked into another universe…
what kind of shenanigans would occur?
also while I am definitely not the previous anon, I’d like to mention that the fd series has a new film coming out next year it’s a little different!
A/n: sorry kinda messy because I got my wisdom teeth removed

---
Getting dropped through a portal and landing in the middle of a fight isn’t great. Fortunately, you're dressed for the occasion since you’re filling in as Robin. Unfortunately, your comms are dead. Fully dead. Dead enough that there isn't even a trace of static to be heard.
It could have been worse, you think as you help Nightwing (alternate universe? Probably alternate universe Nightwing, he doesn't seem to recognize you) clear out a group of goons. At least you're in Gotham and at least you didn't land directly in the path of the batmobile while someone was driving it or something.
Nightwing is wary of you and your supposed help, at least, until you get a moment a tell him the code for alternate universe situations because of course, there’s a code for everything.
(Code for time travel, code for alternate universes, code specifically for family, etc, etc. You leave all those codes up to Batman to decide.)
He doesn’t totally relax, obviously, but he’s willing to take down all the goons before focusing on you.
You're clearly bat-trained, have bat-gear and would look like a carbon copy of Robin if Tim was currently Robin and not Damian. It isn't difficult to believe you are a dimension traveller (you aren't the first and likely won't be the last either), especially with the obvious portal you hopped out of.
And well, things should be okay if you’ve got the family code tagged along with the standard code, right?
Either way, you and Nightwing end up going to the batcave. There’s some back and forth banter, you ask about who’s around and find out that it’s basically everyone you remember from the comics in their own role. Their universe is a bit ahead of yours it seems.
“D’s not allowed to be Robin until he’s more than 4 apples tall,” you tell Nightwing. By 4 apples tall, you mean 4 apples on the height chart you bought to mark Damian’s growth.
"4 apples tall," he mouths, delighted.
Dick had reacted the same way when you put the chart up. Damian had been livid.
The batcave is every bit as dark and cave-y as you remember it to be. Batman is there. So is Red Robin. And Spoiler. It's still early in the night so everyone else is probably still doing patrol.
Being interrogated (kind of) is interesting. It would be more effective if you hadn't seen similar songs and dances hundreds of times. Plus, Batman isn't being too harsh about it. It might be because you're Robin, because you're family.
The edges of your domino mask are peeling off. It always feels like you never put enough glue.
Well, you might as well reveal yourself. With the retrieval of the glue solvent, removal of the mask and a quick run of your hand through your hair, you could consider yourself off duty.
“Are you a girl???”
“Congrats on your top surgery.”
“Congrats on your bottom surgery.”
Hilarious. You laugh softly and ask, “Do you guys think I’m Tim?”
Something discordant ripples through everyone. You thought it was obvious you weren't Tim but well... You smile and hide your teeth.
"I'm (Y/n) Drake, nice to meet you."
You’re pretty sure that your universe will figure some way to get you back so you tell Batman that if you haven’t disappeared by the time 48 hours have passed, he should probably contact a magic user to get you back.
No one is going to bed apparently. It’s Sunday tomorrow. They’re not technically the family you know so you don’t say anything about pulling an all nighter.
There are some fascinating follow-up one-on-one conversations afterwards once they get past the "Tim's older sibling who doesn't exist".
Dick mentions it’s a bit odd to see you as Robin. You’re technically the oldest person to have ever been Robin as everyone grew out of it (died in it, got fired, etc) and got their own costume before they hit 18.
You point out it's not really your costume and that you only really fill in when you have to. He tells you you're still part of the legacy. You're still Robin. You... don't really know what to say to that.
When he asks you how you got involved, you shrug and say you just followed Tim. "He's my brother. What was I supposed to do? Leave him?"
Anyways, interesting conversations between two people who have been eldest daughter syndrome-d. Maybe things are better in your universe where you're there to ease the emotional load of the family but it shouldn't have been your responsibility. It shouldn't have been Dick's either.
You end up telling Jason that the Joker is dead in your universe. More specifically, that he "had gone missing a bit after Red Hood arrived in Gotham". You don't say exactly how it happened but he can probably infer that you had something to do with it.
The two of you probably bond a bit over your paper thin morals. After all, when you aren't playing at being Robin, you don't have to follow Bruce's moral code either.
Bruce is okay. The one here isn't horrendously terrible or anything but there were probably more bumps along the way. You straight up tell him to start seeing a therapist. His nest of birdies are his children first before they are his vigilante partners. He should make that clear before he makes another blunder, fails to apologize, and has to try to mend his relationships again.
He asks if you’re one of his children. You laugh until your ribs hurt.
Damian asks why you (and your Tim) are still Robin. You’re reasonably confused. Dick had informed him that your Damian is with the Waynes already yet has not been made Robin.
You aren’t exactly aware of how this Damian (or comic Damian for that matter) became Robin but you just tell him, “There’s no rush to pass on the mantle. Besides, we’re a couple years behind you guys.”
"You coddle him." "He's literally like, 9."
He'll figure it out someday once he gets past the being raising in an assassin cult thing. You ask what pets he has to derail him.
Things are easier with Cass, as they always have been. She takes one look at you and definitively declares "Family". You smile, ruffle her hair, the same as you would with your Cass, and she drags you away to talk to Steph.
Steph cracks a joke about your presence evening out the gender ratio in the household. She's also on the phone with Barbara so you say a quick hi before being swept into the next conversation.
You and Tim. Tim and you.
It’s been years since Jack and Janet Drake have died. Years upon years since Tim was a little boy waiting by the phone for his parents to call and tell him they’re coming home. He thinks some part of him still longs for them, despite it all.
And now, there is you. His sibling who never existed.
You remind him of his mother, of Janet. You’re as sharp as he remembers her being but you’re so terribly warm and patient and casually affectionate in ways he still isn't used to. Perhaps you're how Janet would've been like if she had loved him more.
You and Tim probably have the most to talk about out of everyone, especially about the early days from before he became Robin. Throughout it, he finds out just how much you've involved yourself in the other Tim's life. There's something sad in your expression when the two of you talk.
He hasn't needed someone to protect or raise him for a very long time but still, it must have been nice to have you, to have someone to trust and love him unconditionally.
For what it's worth, you tell him you're proud of him. Even if you don't exist in this universe, he's still your itty bitty tiny little brother.
Something bubbles in his chest. He thinks it might just be jealousy for the version of him that has your unconditional love. The version that has everything that you could give him.
Alfred brings down food for you to eat. Despite the fact that you don't belong, he insists on calling you "Master (Y/n)". Some things never change you suppose.
Everyone notes that it's very very strange to see you be so familiar with everyone when none of them know you. It's like they're all stumbling over a step in their life, fumbling in their interactions with you, uncertain about what to do.
Duke wanders into the Batcave in the morning and finds you at the batcomputer, still wearing your Robin costume. You get one look at him and go, "Ah they didn't tell you about me did they."
You give him a quick rundown ("I'm from an alternate universe, yeah I showed up last night, I'm Tim's older sibling, I'm only a placeholder Robin, no I don't really know you but I think I've seen you around in my universe before") before he leaves for day-patrol.
He's cool. You'll keep an eye out for him when you get back.
True to your expectation, less than a day after your arrival, a portal opens up beside you. Everyone's in the batcave and are able to see you off as Tim (your Tim) reaches out to bring you home.
You're wrapped up in hugs immediately upon return. So clingy, you think as you say, "I'm home."
Tim, who's buried by your side, mumbles, "Welcome home."
As for you filling in as Red Robin later on, it might be better to discuss it chronologically with Batman getting lost in the timestream and the no good very bad follow up conversation about who should wear the cowl that somehow ends up with you filling in as Nightwing.

Tim: Anyone down to take couples counseling and see at what point the therapist realizes we barely know each other?
Steph: Idiots to lovers, 20k words, angst with a happy ending.
Dick: You know, when Tim comes over, damian can get a little…
Steph: Psycho?
Duke: Scary?
Cass: Drunk?
Dick: All three.
Damian, to Duke: How do you tell someone politely you want to hit them with a brick?
Reader: Just think about this! I’m your hottest friend.
Reader: No, that’s Cass… I’m your nicest friend.
Reader: No, that’s Dick... I’m your friend!
Jason: When we get back, I'm going to step on you!
Reader: Okay, as much as I might enjoy that, Jason–
Reader: Anyone else feel good when their brain releases a bunch of endorphins?
Cass: Can't relate.
Steph: Why would my brain release a bunch of dolphins?
Reader: Hey, let’s mess with Damian, guys!
Steph: Hey, Damian, your momma so fat-
Damian: My mom committed multiple war crimes and is now locked in solitary confinement in a Bolivian prison.
Tim: Well, uh- your dad-
Damian: My father left when I was two to be captured and consequentially sacrificed by a group of feral ferrets.
Steph: The fuck-
Jason: Well then...
Reader: Stop, Jason!
Jason: Your grandparents so-
Damian: My grandmother floated into the sky like a balloon with too much helium when my grandfather spontaneously combusted.
Damian: You cannot best me, mortals.

(This ask took me forever because my phone was being a bum, then I lost said ask so whoever this was from, thank you, and heres what you asked for)
They would obviously go insane, being kidnapped by some low-life thug in Gotham and held against their will for millions of dollars, but in your eyes, you thought you weren't even worth a penny. You didn't even fight back; no way your shit-faced family would come running to save you. At least Bruce was on the way to save Jason from dying, but there was no way he would do the same for you. You saw the look in his eyes when you attended galas; it wasn't out of love, it was out of shame, pure shame. So you sat there in the cold, dark, and wet room, seeing rats chew on electric cables; even if it shocked them, they'd keep on chewing, keep on finding something to eat, even if there was pain or it would kill them in the long run. What had you thought of yourself so much, proving yourself to people who would never see you as their equal? You were allowed one call, and only one. Your kidnappers thought you would call your dear old dad, but no, you called your mom. You were begging and crying, using "mommy"—you hadn't used that word since you were 13—but right now, you wanted your mom more than anything. Fuck Batman and his stupid kids; you wanted your momma.
She took the message to Bruce; she was going through all four stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, and depression, but acceptance wasn't one of them. She wouldn't accept the fact that you might be dead; she wouldn't accept the fact that she'd never find you; she wouldn't accept it at all, and she tore them a new one, cursing each and every family member out while Alfred held her back, making sure she didn't do anything rash, which she would, and the Batfam felt absolutely trembled. Go searching for you? Half of Gotham would have burned down if it wasn't for Tim and Babs talking the rest of them out of it, but let's be honest, those computer twins were up for nights searching security cameras for you. Bruce was the craziest out of all of them; it was like losing Jason again, except it was his own flesh and blood, and when he heard that you called your mom for help—not him—he lost it. She didn't even have enough money for the ransom; she couldn't pay it off, but you called her instead of your billionaire father, who was BATMAN! For Christ's sake, did you really not trust him? Did you really think you weren't worth the trouble? Did you think he didn't love you?
He was going crazy in his study just at the thought that Dick, Jason, and Cass were going full rage mode. They'd been beating thugs into unconsciousness; some of their faces were unrecognizable if they didn't have an ID on them. Damian was very confused; he didn't know what to feel. At first, he acted aloof. Why did they want you of all people? You were useless, a disgrace to the Wayne family name, weak and replaceable, and when he shared those feelings with Alfred, the old butler who always seemed to understand him, walked away without a single word. It just didn't make sense to him. Why did the old man care, and why did everyone care now, and why did he care? This wasn't like him. Not at all.
Steph felt like she failed as a sister, as a hero. How could anyone hurt you? You're so sweet, so silly, so kind, yet she did the same. She was no better than the thugs. Duke was completely out of it. You'd catch him muttering to himself, going on all-night patrols, hitting the streets, finding all the info he could, and coming back to your big brother when he finally found you half alive, your locs matted and fizzy. Your glasses were broken, and dirt caked your brown skin. You pushed away from them the second they tried to touch you. You screamed for your mom, crying for her like a baby. Still, she finally showed up, pushing the brick of a man that is Bruce Wayne out of the way, grabbing you like you were a baby that was first put into her arms the second she gave birth to you. The Batfam was heartbroken, especially Bruce. He had made his suit less scary for the last child who cried when they saw him, but even when he took off his cowl and got closer, you still cried and pulled away from him, afraid he might attack you. But he wouldn’t—you’re his baby, after all.

Bat!sib: Every time I hear someone talking about updog, I’m torn between wanting to fall for it and wanting to help them complete their joke.
Bruce: Okay, but what is updog?
Dick: Updog is a sausage in a bun.
Tim: No, that’s a hot dog, updog is when a new version or patch of an application is released.
Damian: No, that’s an update. You’re thinking of the fourth largest city in Sweden.
Jason: Pretty sure that’s Uppsala, updog is the giant spider in Harry Potter.
Duke: That’s Aragog. Updog is a symbol conventionally used for arbitrary small number in analysis proofs.
Cass: You’re thinking of epsilon. Updog is an upward-moving air current.
Steph: No, that’s an updraft. An updog is the modern version of henway.
Bruce, absolutely confused: What’s a henway??
Bat!sib: Oh, about five pounds.

The hours flew by, and you distracted yourself from your previous encounter with your father by attempting to continue your painting. Darkness began to overtake Gotham like a blanket of death and your inspiration was stuck in the big apple.
You were dreading this ‘dinner’ and the discussion that apparently needed to be had in front of the whole family. Was this a sick way of humiliating you for trying to move on from them? Was your escape to New York so angering that they needed to drag your back to the city and remind you of their existence.
You showered off the new version of you. Digging into your closet, finding the girl you used to be. Dark colored tops, dresses, everything, dark and depressing. You shrugged on something neat, something you saw akin to armor to deflect the painful remarks and ridicule you're expected to face. Dinner got closer and soon you were called by Alfred, beginning your trudge to the dining room.
Getting closer you heard distant laughs. Bile begging to rise to your throat. Dick and Tim laughing at whatever psycho shit came from Jason’s mouth, two distinct female laughter rang your ears into oblivion as well.
When you stepped into the room you swore you could hear your own blood rushing through your ears. Their eyes all piercing, expectant of you. Wordlessly you sat down keeping your head high facing the door to the kitchen where Alfred was thankfully walking out with drinks.
They all drank in your appearance. They pretended to continue their chatter, but kept quieter, wanting to observe you. You finally looked like the girl they remembered only with radiant skin and a different hairstyle. Your clothes held a different fit as well, but the boys were trying their best to pretend you hadn’t put on a few sizes since the last time they truly paid attention to you.
Or maybe they were trying to pretend you weren’t the girl they relentlessly bullied and pushed past for a decade. No one wanted to speak up first, each and everyone, besides Damien, were anxiously anticipating Bruce’s arrival.
The young boy observed you intensely, Head to toe, from your outfit when you first arrived to the little facial twitches you made interacting awkwardly with your father. He was enamored at your complete 180. Your timid behavior and crying over the way your siblings fooled around had angered him, he couldn’t understand why you would behave so childishly in a family like the Wayne's.
He noticed the way you were still shrinking away from them, pretending you were an innocent victim. He remembered the other day going through the computer in the bat cave, seeing all the extensive research they had done on you.
His heart racing in pure anger seeing as you let men grope and kiss you ass soon as you left the manor. He sneered at you with just that memory and your eyes widened finally picking up his radar. Surprisingly you rolled your eyes at his behavior. Just as he was about to speak he heard the sound of his father’s heavy footsteps.
Bruce sat down with all his children, happy to be once again surrounded by those who gave him the will to live. His eyes landed on you, in your old clothes looking as pretty as one of your paintings. Which reminded him he never got to look at the one you were currently working on due to his nerves. His confidence grew with the rest of his children in the room with him. The conversation tonight would begin the mending of your relationship with the entire family.
Alfred began bringing plates out and Bruce pondered on whether he or Dick should begin the conversation. What was found on your phone, whether or not you’d be returning to New York in September, how to begin the apology for not treating you like family for as long as you’d been here. He sighed to himself as he poured gravy onto his plate, your reaction to anything they needed to say tonight will go only one way.
Earlier during the day the Batcave was occupied by Dick and Bruce. Silently working, waiting for one another to spark the conversation about you. Dick already knew Bruce wouldn’t start first so with a huff he swiveled his chair and rolled over to his side, “ We need to figure out how to begin the conversation later. Should we start with an apology or go straight into telling her off about the bullshit we found in her phone?” Bruce grunted angrily thinking about your behavior in some of these videos. “ I don’t want her to become too upset, but I am her father and you’re her older brother—I just can’t believe the way she acted!”
“ Stop mentioning that, I don’t want to be angry for the rest of the day.”
“ I think we can ease into it all by talking about her public media, congratulate her, and then maybe she’ll be so happy she will understand when we mention not returning to New York!”
The two were quickly forming a plan.
The dinner dragged on, the weight of each passing second sinking deeper into your chest. The conversations around you felt hollow, their forced laughter and thinly veiled curiosity only amplifying the discomfort. Each member of the family studied you with an intensity that unsettled your nerves. Even Damien, the youngest of them all, couldn't stop watching you like a hawk, his dark eyes piercing through the veil of your calm exterior.
You couldn’t help but feel the undercurrent of tension. You could sense that they had been discussing you before you arrived—hell, you knew they had. The way they looked at you now was different, more calculating, as if you were some puzzle they were eager to solve. You clenched your fists under the table, trying to keep your composure.
Bruce was talking now, his tone warm, almost overly so, as he praised your work—your art, your paintings, your social media presence. You felt the air in the room grow thicker with each compliment, the undertone of admiration from your father felt almost too affectionate. But you couldn’t pinpoint why. It was when he mentioned your “public media presence” that you felt the first cold prickle run down your spine.
“Y/n,” he began again, leaning forward as though eager to engage you, “You’ve been doing so well, haven’t you? You’ve truly blossomed. The way you’ve built your own life away from Gotham—it's impressive. The way you’ve grown... you’ve become a woman, haven't you?”
His words felt too sharp, too scrutinizing, this couldn’t be the same man who barely glanced at you six months ago when you said you were leaving for New York.. The back of your neck prickled with an uncomfortable heat. You could feel their gazes intensifying as they looked at you, as if they were all waiting for something—waiting for you to fall into their trap.
“Thank you,” you said quietly, the words tasting foreign on your tongue. You were used to compliments on your work and achievements… just from other people. It had been so long since anyone in this room had complimented you like this, in fact, they never complimented you. Something was very wrong tonight and yet, the way they spoke about you now made you feel a warm tingle, as though you were a person to them, someone they truly loved.
Bruce continued, his voice softer, “I think we can all agree that you’ve done well for yourself. But…” He hesitated, looking at you with an expression you couldn’t quite place. “There are still some things we need to discuss. Things that can’t be left in the past, like your time here in Gotham, and... well, your future. You don’t want to stay in New York forever, do you?”
His words hit you like a punch to the stomach. Your intuition was always right. The thought of going back to live in Gotham, back to that suffocating manor, back to being the girl in the shadows felt like a prison sentence. You had found your freedom—your space. You had begun to heal, to find yourself, and now, they were pulling you back into their world, a world you had never fit into.
“I—” you started to speak, but your voice faltered under the weight of the stares not wanting to anger them. “I’m fine where I am. I’m happy in New York.”
Bruce’s smile remained, but it no longer held any warmth. It was darker, more predatory. His gaze lingered on your face, calculating, almost like he was looking past you, into the future he was trying to map out for you. “You don’t have to worry about that. You’ll be home soon. It’s just a matter of time. A family needs to stay together, Y/n. We have a lot of healing and apologizing to do.”
The words hung in the air, heavy with meaning. His tone made your heart race, the chill creeping up your spine turning into a full-on shiver. You couldn’t look at him any longer. Eyes turned down to the table, anger and fear coursed through you.
Your father spoke as though there was no reasoning behind your leaving, as if you were some defiant teenager trying to get a rise out of daddy. The affection within his words, affection he never had for you even when you first arrived at his front door was laced in something sick and possessive.
Anger washed over your features when you lifted your head. His eyes held love, all the love you wished you had, the love every one of your siblings received all these years.
You closed your eyes for a moment, breathing through your nose before putting on a fake smile. “I’m not sure what you mean, but I’m happy where I am,” you said, smile twitching.
Your attempt to brush off his words only seemed to intensify his focus. The others—Dick, Tim, and Jason—watched you in silence, their expressions unreadable. Jason’s eyes narrowed in a way that made your skin crawl, while Barbra and Cass exchanged a look, the kind of look siblings share when they know something is about to get ugly.
Bruce leaned forward, his voice dropping to a low murmur, barely audible over the sound of the clinking silverware. “We’ve been keeping track of you, Y/n. Of your social media, your friends. We want to make sure you’re safe, protected. You don’t need to be with those people, you know. You belong here, with us. You’ve always belonged here.”
You recoiled at his words, a sick feeling settling in your stomach. The realization hit you like a ton of bricks—they were treating you like one of their villains. All this time, they had been watching, following your every move, like predators circling their prey. The thought of them lurking in the shadows of your life made you sick to your core.
But before you could finish, Damien cut in, his voice laced with venom. “You’re not even really a part of this family. You’ve always been difficult—a distraction. And now you think you can just live however you want? As if you don’t owe us anything?”
Your eyes snapped to Damien, your blood running cold. The way he spoke, the way his words cut through the air—this was why you had left without word. They didn’t care about you; they only cared about controlling you as they easily control Gotham. And now that you had escaped, they were trying to drag you back, to reclaim what they thought was rightfully theirs.
You stood up abruptly, the chair scraping loudly against the floor. “I don’t want this. I don’t want any of this!” you shouted, your voice breaking with the emotion you had been holding in for so long. The room fell into a stunned silence as you backed toward the door, your pulse pounding in your ears. “I’m not coming back. I’m not staying here. I don’t belong with you.”
Before you could make it to the door, Bruce was there, his hand slapping into the door and the other gripping your wrist with a surprising force that made you stumble. “Y/n, you’re staying home. You don’t get to make these decisions, you’re still a child. We’re family. You don’t get to run away from us, we’re trying to fix our relationship.”
“ Fuck you, you decide nothing! You never once cared about me or shit I’ve done in my life—any of you!”
His grip tightened, you winced at the reminder of who he was, at your wince he released the tight hold, not fully letting you go. This wasn’t about love—it was about control. About ownership. He doesn’t care about you, not truly. Not until you had made your escape, made them remember that you were alive.
Damien moved to block the door, your eyes tracking the shining silver tucked into his hand, his eyes gleamed with malicious intent. “You’re not going anywhere.”
The others were closing in now, like wolves circling their prey. Dick, Jason—they all stood together, silent, but the weight of their presence was suffocating. Your vision began to blur, the familiar feeling of anxiety keeping you paralyzed.
“You can’t keep me here,” you whispered, panic rising in your chest.
Bruce’s smile was cold, calculating. “Oh, but we can. You know that very well. I didn’t want dinner to turn out this way sweetheart, so please, sit down and we can talk about this. Like family should. ”
And before you could react, Damien was upon you, his hands gripping your arms as he pulled you back into your seat with force a child his age shouldn't have. Your heart pounded in your chest, your instincts screaming at you to escape, but there was no way out and there was nowhere to run without one of them catching you.
“You’re stuff will be delivered back to Gotham in the next few days. Next week we can look into one of Gotham's art schools, doesn’t that sound fantastic sweetheart?” Bruce said softly, his voice laced with a terrifying finality. “And we can plan a family trip for the summer, all of us together, no matter what.”
The walls closed in around you, and the air grew thick with the way smiles grew onto everyone’s face. Your life in New York, your freedom, was nothing but a fleeting dream. You sat in your chair, tears falling from your eyes as you tried to hold back your sobbing. They all went back to eating, chatting with one another as if nothing went down, as if they couldn’t hear the way you sobbed into your sleeve.
“ I hate you,” you whisper.
Bruce stops chewing, looking up at you through his lashes. “ I’m sorry sweetheart, I didn’t want to be rough with you.” He says, remorse in his voice.
When dinner ended, you quickly got up, rushing out of the dining room. Embarrassment coursed through you. They saw you weak again, you weren’t as strong as you thought you had become.
You wished you could time travel, let yourself know that it’s not worth it to pick up the phone, maybe you should’ve gone on a trip by yourself for the first two weeks of summer, and leave your phone behind. The things you wished you could have done before you got to this moment made the tears fall faster.
You locked the door to your room, feeling Damien’s presence hot on your heels as you rushed up the stairs. Talking to that little boy felt worse than speaking to anyone else.
You lay on your comforter, cradling yourself and tucking your legs into your chest. The emotions were too overwhelming, and the scenes played over in your head. You thought the dinner would be simple.
You wanted to just pop back into Gotham, show them how good your life was without them, and leave within the next two days. Deep down, it was evident that the random calls from unknown numbers, the calls from Bruce, and even asking you to return to Gotham were signs that something was amiss. All your achievements and change meant nothing when all you had to do was return to the manor to become a shell of yourself again.
The manor was quiet now, and the sadness was dulling. You finally picked yourself up and walked to your dresser, getting a pair of pajamas. You changed and crawled under your sheets, reaching over to turn off your lamp.
Hours passed, and you still twisted and turned, falling in and out of sleep. Light began peaking through your window, and you groan restlessly. You didn’t want to spend another minute in Gotham with lunatics and the night came and went.
You sit up finally, giving up on a full night of sleep. You needed to formulate a plan, how would you escape Gotham? Scratch that, how would you escape Batman and his super soldier vigilante children? You paced around in your room, there were cameras everywhere, among other things that would be able to detect you.
There was also the new-found hyperawareness of you that would be your biggest issue, you knew better than to think you could even leave your room without coming into contact with one of them in the hallway.
You knew you needed to be realistic with your situation. You were dealing with Batman, Batman-level technology, Batman’s boys and girls, and you were the only one in the house without any training, so you can’t barge your way through the front door.
You didn’t want to play into heir shit either, nothing was forgiven or forgotten and the way Bruce and Damien handled you last night was infuriating. Incredibly painful as well, but there would be no more tears from you.
When the sun hung higher in the sky, making Gotham a dull blue-grey, you finally left the safety of your room walking down the dimly lit hallway. You felt the cameras in the corners, the ones hidden in plain sight, how they zeroed in on you.
You ignored the desperate feeling in your legs, wanting to run and take you as far as they could. In the kitchen, you searched for something easy, wanting to be in and out in case all of them were still here. The top shelf held yogurt, so you reached for that when you turned around, you almost dropped it due to coming face to face with Jason.
His eyes were hardened as usual and he dwarfed you completely. You try walking around him, but he reaches out and you jump back into the cool metal doors of the fridge. You refused to shrink into yourself and puff your chest looking him right in the eyes. He notices your behavior immediately, a smirk pulls onto his face. “ Y/n, the big apple changed you. You used to be so shy.”
“ What do you need, Jason?”
“ Nothing...nothing it’s just—you’ve grown up.”
You rolled your eyes, trying to walk away from him again but he lightly grabbed your arm. You look down to his hand then to him before yanking yourself away.
He gripped you again, yanking you back and slamming you softly into the fridge, making you drop our yogurt. Your eyes widen when he begins speaking, “ You know, it’s impolite to walk away when someone is speaking to you. Or has partying and acting like you’re an adult got you forgetting your manners?”
“ The fuck are you talking about–”
“ You forget who you’re dealing with? You forget your daddy is Batman? You think we weren’t going to find out everything you did in New York, baby bird?”
You opened your mouth to speak but a few grunts from behind Jason stopped you. He rolled him eyes and released you letting you see Bruce and Dick. Both of their arms crossed, and you stood there defiantly. “ As Jason was saying, we found out about the partying, the weed, everything,” Dick explained rubbing the back of his head while his ears turned red.
“ That’s your fault,” you scoff.
“ Y/n you can’t possibly think that dad is going to let you just run back to the city–”
“ I can do as I please! My entire life you people never even gave a fuck whether or not I was alive and now you’re all being weird and fucking crazy. Which is the main reason I left in the first place!”
“ Sweetheart,”
“ No. Stop with the weird pet names that you have never once called me. I don’t want this, whatever you’re trying to do leave me alone. I’ve always been alone and I’m not going to let you invade my new happy life.” You scream.
The tears welling into your eyes again but you refuse to let them fall. Their faces drop seeing the tears, the remorse and guilt settling further in. The way you looked speaking to them with your heart arose possession.
Your tears framed your face making you look like the child they all remembered, you were obviously still that child and you needed the protection, love, and support from you family. They would never allow you to be surrounded by such obvious bad influences again.
They made you drink, smoke, and act in ways no girl your age should be acting. Bruce walked over to you, brushing a hand through your hair, “ Sweetheart, I want to apologize for how I treated you, and I want you to understand that we are not doing this to hurt you.”
