True Love is what allowed Malleus to be conceived by his parents and eventually hatched by Lilia.

True love is what put baby Silver to sleep by his parents and woken up by Lilia.

Sebeks parents were able to walk past the line of human and fae, of hundreds of years of animosity, and allowed them to have their children.

Love is what diasomnia is about and love is also what caused the OB to happen.

Malleus Draconia

Oh? You want to join the Gargoyle Studies Club? You’re being serious? Oh!

Words cannot describe how happy he is about a fellow gargoyle appreciator though his expression doesn’t really show that

And to think you see him as just another dude… such honor was bestowed upon him…!

He’ll excitedly bring you to every gargoyle he’s found on campus and infodump about them - and you’d write them down somewhere if you’re in the mood

Sometimes you’d find new gargoyles and bring him to them and you start to do likewise

Even outside of club activities you two geek out about gargoyles at times which has earned you two the title of nerds

“Have I told you about the time I’ve met talking gargoyles? I never thought I would see such a day…”

Gargoyles aside, he has times where he confides his personal daily life in you and in turn, he’ll ask you what’s it like being in Ignihyde, etc

After being around each other so much, it feels weird when you guys aren’t together - some people would ask where Malleus is whenever you’re on your own, and vice versa

People found it weird how close an Ignihyde student is to someone from a different dorm too and you’re not sure if you should be flattered or not

But in a sense, Malleus really is your other nerdy half.

“WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU’RE WORTHY OF JOINING SUCH A CLUB?”

Well, for one, the fact that you’re unfazed by his constant yelling and therefore probably too tired to be fazed by anything, consequently making you the perfect companion to Malleus because you wouldn’t react inappropriately to Malleus’ conduct

And that you actually are interested in gargoyles. That too. You tell all this to him

He clutches his head with one hand, debating your logic. You don’t know how and why but he accepts your argument

That doesn’t stop him from monitoring you two’s activities from afar but, again, you couldn’t care less. A sixteen year old’s fanatics is just part of the growing process

Outside of club activities, he interrogates you on what you’ve discussed with Malleus and you just tell him the truth: gargoyles

At some point, he gets so engrossed in your infodump about gargoyles his eyes shine with a new light

Of course, he mentions something about Malleus obviously liking something so interesting and befitting of his status - but he also thanks you for enlightening him on the topic and that he’ll go to you for more information if need be

You’ve converted him. You sometimes see him clutching a book about gargoyles around the school. It’s filled with notes sticking out of the pages. And a portion of that sometimes he’ll run to you to confirm about a fact or two

Maybe it’s safe to say you two are kind of friends now.

Silver

He doesn’t think too much of it other than being glad that Malleus finally has a fellow gargoyle fan he can geek out with

He’d see you and Malleus chatting it up around campus and he can’t stop the tender smile on his face from making an appearance

Sometimes he himself will try to strike up a conversation with you and gargoyle geek aside, he finds that you’re just a pleasant person to talk to and be around

He admits he’s not too close with any of the folks from Ignihyde aside for the Shroud brothers but you brush him off by saying that nobody is really

He also admires how you don’t really let anything get to you. Again, you shrug it off by half-joking that you’re too tired to be scared by anything at this point

He somewhat empathizes with you on that point, grieving over his narcoleptic tendencies with a heavy sigh

You try your best to cheer him up or if you have experience with such things, you give him advice on how to manage it

You then jest that he can tag along with you and Malleus’ club activities whenever he’s free if he wants. The more, the merrier, right?

He ponders it for a minute and nods. You didn’t think he’d actually accept the offer

“I don’t see a reason to refuse. Sebek and I have accompanied Malleus on his trips before. I’m sure this time around will be more fun with you here.”

And so you all do. You all have a royal time together - and the joy on Silver’s face is especially princely.

Lilia Vanrouge

He sheds (crocodile) tears at the thought of Malleus finally having an additional member in his one-man club more friends

Since you’re chill about it, he is too! As long as you get along with Malleus, everything will be fine and dandy

If anything, he’s a bit impressed by how it takes more than the average amount to gain a reaction out of you 

…and a bit concerned. Are you sure you’re getting enough nutrients? His paternal instincts kick in when you tell him you’re too tired to have a reaction to anything

He knows that Ignihyde students are mostly shut-ins but he still advises you and makes sure you get a balanced diet

It’s like he’s adopted yet another son

“Oh, (Y/N), you really ought to take care of yourself more.”

You grow a bit annoyed at him sometimes but you know his intentions are good so you don’t protest

You do feel very loved though. You didn’t expect this much from just joining a club for a topic you’re genuinely interested in

But you have to admit it is kind of hard to come by people who aren’t intimidated by the Malleus Draconia, even if you don’t see it as anything special

What’s special, though, is the affection Lilia holds for you.

I Found It All On My Own

A/N: *weeps* I love Diasomnia's found family dynamics. I decided to do Lilia as the father figure, Malleus and Silver as older brothers and Sebek as like a twin brother in the same year? Oughdfhj I feel like with everything going on in chapter seven right now, these headcanons would be perfect to write. Don't worry there won't be major spoilers. Well, if you know then you can spot them, but they won't ruin the story for you (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧

Malleus Draconia

Malleus is naturally protective of everyone- especially the people he's close to. His family, if you will. Perhaps it's because he feels bound to his duty as a dorm leader, an heir, or maybe he knows how fragile life is. He doesn't want anyone to get hurt or be unhappy

He goes out of his way to intervene or watch you from afar... just to keep you safe. Malleus is like one of those older brothers that spy on you for "your own good" or "just to make sure"

Sometimes, Malleus would cast a spell to ensure whatever your date, errand, appointment, hangout with a friend, etc. goes well. There will be no rain, sleet or snow. Not a single loud in the sky. The weather will always be perfect. Everything would be too perfect.

If another party is late, makes a side remark or wrongs you, Malleus might entertain the idea of striking them with lightning. Or... slightly inconveniencing their day after they part ways with you.

If you pick up on it, you'd have to tell him. He wouldn't stop otherwise. In your heart, you know he means well. Malleus wants you to be happy no matter what. Your smile means the world to him. He truly enjoys hearing about your amazing day and how you smile when you show him the things you bought or the grades you got, but how can there be good days if there are no bad ones or any mishaps?

Reassure him that if you ever need help, you'd ask him. If there's anyone in the world capable of protecting you and coming to you when you need someone the most- it's Malleus. Tell him that and he'll be trying to hide his smug smile all day.

Lilia Vanrouge:

He's a father figure for many, including you. While not the best cook and using... conventional methods of parenting on some occasions, Lilia is someone you'd accidentally call dad

His age is most certainly a factor, but it's also how he always tells you stories from the past or invites you to sit down and play some video games with him after a long day. Like a dad who doesn't know how to comfort you, but tries his best anyways.

Another way Lilia comforts you, or rather, shows his love is buying whatever you seem to like eating at the moment. Oh these frozen waffles taste good? He'd get you a few more boxes for good measure. He can't cook, but he'll get you all your favorite snacks and frozen meals.

Like Malleus, Lilia also looks after you. He just isn't as much of a helicopter as Malleus is. So maybe not like Malleus.

Lilia simply asks you about your day. He's quite perceptive and has incredible intuition so even if you lie, he knows something is up. He won't ever ask you directly, believing that you could figure it out eventually. Still, he quips the typical dad thing and says that he'll always be here if you need him. You could tell him anything!

Not that you would. Teenagers tend to be more reluctant to share things with their guardians. He would know. He was that age some centuries ago.

...He might meddle a little if he sees you struggle a too much though. If you have trouble making friends, Lilia might ask Silver to befriend you. Or at least walk you to class and make some small talk

Silver:

Silver is little more subtle than Malleus and Lilia when it comes to showing love and looking out for you. He won't buy you too much food or curse your worst enemy, but he'll support you!

He's never had a younger sibling and you're the closest thing to that he has. He cherishes you a lot because of that

His speech isn't as eloquent as Lilia's nor is he as powerful as Malleus, but you can always count on him to show up for you. You have a recital or speech to give? He'll be there. You post something on social media? He's the first like. He won't comment, but he'll like the post. And reblog/retweet it if you need more exposure

He also wouldn't mind if you steal some of his stuff... in moderation. Silver doesn't get irritated easily. He's fairly lax when it comes to these things so if you want something- be it food, clothes, some school supplies- all you have to do is ask

Silver is the dream big brother most siblings would want. You and him rarely ever argue. He's got a decent temperament and hypes you up when you need it.

He'll also agree to help you hide something if you really don't want Lilia or Malleus to know. Silver will recommend you tell them about it, but if you insist... then he won't push it. He'll be hesitant, but he won't spill the beans.

Silver also has this inability to be not so good at comforting (maybe he gets it from Lilia), but he tries his best. He's not good with deep, long conversations about life or growing, but he would one hundred percent listen to you and pat your back or head depending on the situation

Sebek Zigvolt:

If Silver is the sibling you get along with, then Sebek is the one you don't get along with. Neither of you hate the other, it's more so constant bickering over trivial matters

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"How do you know I'm looking at you? Aren't you the one looking at me?"

Nevertheless, like most sibling relationships, at the end of the day, you still love each other. Sebek isn't as soft spoken like Silver. He doesn't show love like Lilia or Malleus either. He's a bit on the harsher side, but his actions will somehow always speak louder than his blunt words.

Sebek will help you with your homework. He won't do a full on tutoring session, but he'll show you how to solve a problem or two. He might even lend you his notes. From the bottom of his heart, he really does want you to succeed.

If you need someone to give you the truth and nothing but the truth, Sebek is the one to go to. He doesn't sugarcoat his opinion that often. If that sweater looks ugly, he'll tell you if you show it to him

Sebek also won't hesitate to call out anyone who says something mean to you. Though the two of may have your back and forths, the things he says to you are never truly hurtful. Sebek doesn't fully realize it, still calling you "human", but he does worry about you from time to time. What kind of trouble would you get into? Would he be able to help?

He doesn't have many friends or siblings... Silver hardly counts in his eyes. You sort of count? He's fond of you to say the least. He'd like to pat your head like Silver does one day.

Perhaps you're the only one who remembered that day the most, despite the joy there was also sadness, those who had a home to go back to, and those who did not.

Crowley died, he died sometime after Malleus's overblot, he died leaving no information of going back to your world. All the time he said he would look for it he lied, he lied to you, he gave you false hope. Home was no longer a place you could return to anymore... Nrc had become your new home.

There was no time for sadness when it came to you, dry those tears (Y/n), it was the day of his graduation.

Silver was your first love when you came to this world, a first love you waited to tell yet never did so, longing for him you could only stare from afar, never did you have the time to spend talking to him or get to know him like you had preferred to.

White hair and aurora eyes, blessings that he was graced with, he was everything you ever wanted maybe that was why he felt so out of reach to you, you could only stare from afar secretly to watch him train, to watch him laugh, to watch him grow from a 2nd year to a 3rd and eventually graduate.

He stood there proud, a future awaited him back in his hometown while no future awaited you beyond the school gates, despite having to leave the school once or twice you still aren't familiar with this world, the world which you don't belong to.

On the other hand was him, secretly admiring your strength from afar, adoring your kindness towards those around you, in love with your existence. If he didn't know any better, he'd thought you were a mage more powerful than Malleus himself for living and braving through all your troubles like that. He... loved you.

As warm as the fire you brightened his dull world, empathy was all that you had shown to those who were against you, even when you hated that person you kept it to yourself not wanting to cause trouble, he saw it all. Maybe as the months grew by, he thought he could have grown closer to you, and maybe eventually talk to you at least once, yet you moved too fast for him, in the blink of an eye you were gone, solving other problems that weren't yours.

Graduation was the last mark of his journey at NRC, proudly standing in his graduation robes he felt more confident than ever. It was strange to see how fast time had gone by for him, it was just like a blink and he met you, another blink and he fell in love, with the last blink however suddenly he's leaving you... a love he might never confess.

"(Y/n)... I- Malleus wanted to invite you to Briar Valley, he thinks it would help you a lot under his power as the crown prince" He couldn't help but lie... But was it wrong to lie when all he wanted was to help you?

"Ah, I see, please tell Malleus I'll be okay here at NRC." Butterflies... it's normal when you're talking to someone you fell in love with, yet you can't help but push them aside to think for your own future and Grim's.

"But it'll be even harder for you here, you can't just keep staying at NRC, because if you do how will any one of us that you know even help you?" He might sound mean, heck he knows he's out of character but he's saying this from the bottom of his heart, his hand held yours tightly. "Please... just let us help you."

"Silver... thank you." You wanted to tell him so much, everything that you've buried from deep within, all the words you know of, the feelings you collected, just looking into his eyes you're weak, yet.. "I can't go, not when this is the only place that I can rely on."

Letting go of his hands you gave him a farewell smile, a smile that tells him so little of what you're hiding from within. Your heart cries as you walk away, you want to stay yet you have to go, leaving him was much harder than it looked. It was no different for him, to see you go it pained him yet who was he to stop you from leaving? You two barely even talked after all.

"One day I will stop falling in love with you... “ Words which you spoke to each other, words you hope were unheard of. “We were never meant to be.”

Life finds away, through the pain and suffering that it has put you, even when that pain and suffering has last so long and it seemed never ending.

Your life after he left wasn’t so different from before, you still lived in the school grounds, being taken care of by the staff of NRC, worked there as a teaching assistant and substitute teacher. Trein, was the one who took care of you the most out of all the staff seeing you as his child above all thing.

When he finally retired after 4 years of working in the school, you took over his place in teaching history and magic demonstration to students. Even as you have no magic Trein helped you a lot in using a type of substitute energy for you to demonstrate that magic, that was how you officially became a teacher at NRC.

In those four years, eventually all your friends including you have graduated, the first years, to be exact the Adeuce duo tried to convince you to move in with them, and just like with Silver you rejected them.

Speaking of which in those 4 years that have passed, the Briar Valley had a improved and changed so much Malleus was on the way to becoming a King, Lilia was still enjoying his retirement, Silver and Sebek had become guards and eventually in that short time Malleus’s personally bodyguards like how they were meant to be.

Silver at the time worried for your state in NRC however couldn’t find a reason nor time to check on you once in a while. He was too busy, his hands tied to training and endless training, attending and caring for Malleus that in a way his mind no longer had a place for you, yet his heart after 4 years did, in his unchanging heart you were always there.

Four years you lived peacefully in those school walls, never leaving unless it was for an event, four years you temporarily took over the school until a new headmaster was administered by the education system. Four years he lived peacefully with his brother in arm, always running for the future king of Briar Valley running to succeed, running to catch up on you.

So when there came a day where the future king was holding his ceremony, he hoped to see you again, Malleus wanted to see you again, Sebek knows he’ll see you again, and Lilia will see you again.

“Pup, I got some news that might interest you, class I gotta borrow your teacher for 20 minutes, don’t cause a problem” Crewel came waltzing into your class to drag you away, he might be your second parent figure to Trein but he’s a good parent figure so you don’t mind.

“…I didn’t even get a say in this.” As soon as you were dragged away your classroom got 10x noisier than before, you are so doubling the amount of homework and assignments.

“Trust me you’ll love to hear this news, it’s about Malleus Draconia.” Crewel stopped dragging you when you both reached the teacher’s lounge.

Sitting you down on the couch of the lounge he handed you the official seal and envelope of the Briar Valley crown prince, soon to be king. It hasn’t been opened yet, you assume that it’s really important when it’s written in such a way, normally malleus would just send you notes like when you were both students, receiving a letter is nice though.

“To Night Raven College, it is with great honor that you are courteous invited to the coronation of Malleus Draconia.” Oh, you didn’t notice, Tsunotaro never told you about anything in your recents note passing so you were quite surprised. “We’d like you to send a representative from your school to the coronation, his Highness looks forward to seeing you all.”

“Looks like a familiar hand writing, say, wasn’t it that pup Silver?” You traced the word written so carefully, how have the time treated him? “Anyways, the staff decided it would be best for you to be the representative”

“Why me? I mean I know the reason might be because I know Malleus and was close to him but, I’m not very experienced-“ Crewel quickly shut you up by turning the letter around and hovering it above fire. “Oh”

“The new teacher will be a substitute to your class while you’re away, don’t be too worried pup.” Is it too late to hide in the Ramshackle dorm. “Also you can’t deny this one or the school is in serious trouble.”

“Fineee” that earned you a pat on the head.

Perhaps it isn’t too bad to go visit them…

Briar Valley was as beautiful as you’d imagine, from the images taken by malleus to the articles you would read in the school computer. You’d never thought you had a chance to re-visit the land of beauty and thorns.

It was clearly different, NRC and Briar Valley, while both carried an aura unchanging with time, they both had their own differences. Festivities everywhere, the streets decorated with thorns and white flowers, in the city you felt lost.

Standing by the place you were meant to wait you can’t help but fantasize what your life would be like if you had been born here and had magic.

“(Y/n)…” After so many years… you still haven’t gotten over the butterflies every time you heard his voice, four years can change someone so much.

“Silver, you’re the one picking me up?” He was in a daze, you looked the same yet different, time only changed the way you looked, yet he could still hear the same person he fell in love with years ago.

“Ah right, the others have been waiting to see you again.” You’ll properly spend your time here, your time next to him, he took your luggage leading you away with him.

“Yeah, I’m glad I came here, I missed everyone” ‘you especially’ was what you wanted to tell him, but maybe that’s a story for another time.

The time you spent with him, despite everyone surrounding you he never seemed to left. As it turned out Malleus had assigned him to be your personal bodyguard.

The joy you shared with him, the main part of being in an entirely different place than school meant exploring for you, to see the joy you shared with him, Silver was truly grateful to Malleus for giving him the chance to spend time with you.

The stories you told him, everything ever since he left you told him, your best friend and closest companion right now was him. Even though it had only been a few days ever since you arrived in Briar Valley you can’t help but feel as if you had been there for such a long time. The tales of his story were also interesting themselves, from him handling work with Sebek to getting postcards from Lilia.

The dances you both had, on the night of the coronation, you were there to see it all, the beauty and joy of people, Sebek crying in joy, Lilia acting proud and finally Silver… who doesn’t seemed to be focusing on the event. Instead it seemed as if he was distracted. As it turned out he was trying his best not to fall asleep, again. When it came to dancing, no one else seemed to ask you, somehow it ended up being you and him, hand in hand, laughing like children while having fun.

The love him expressed oh so quietly, watching you from a far was definitely not like watching you up close, and with each day spent next to you, he can’t help but fall deeper in love. Secretly protecting you from anything that could harm you, talking to you, helping you deal with other representatives, making sure Sebek doesn’t scold you too much when talking to Malleus.

The gifts he gave you, he wasn’t rich per say yet he always liked giving you something, from handmade items he collected and were given by the woodland creatures. Your reactions were always so lovely to see, how cruel were you to smile like that and make him want to hold you in his arms, how dare you act like that making him want to leave everything behind and follow you wherever you go, how could you make him fall in love with you?

For the story that could never happen, as you both have grown up by now there were definitely changes compared to when you were both new graduates. A question you always asked yourself when you looked into those aurora eyes back then, the question you asked yourself when you stayed as he go, the same one happened now that you're seeing him again after so long, how much longer will you wait to tell him?

Could it happen? It might not happen ever in this lifetime, after all, you and he were in a way completely different, it would never work, it could never work, you might break your heart because of this but he deserved better than you. You were grateful to be given the chance to spend time with him, so you used it to its full extent, you were happy with what you had being his close friend...

Two weeks in Briar Valley felt a little too fast for your liking, falling in love with him all over again was beautiful yet at the same time painful when you realized eventually it had to come to an end. Just as he was the one to greet you when you first came to Briar Valley, it was also Silver who's the last person you'll see as you depart for your trip back to NRC.

"Did you forget anything (Y/n)?" Silver asked handing your luggage to you, a heavy heart you looked into his eyes one last time.

"I think that was everything, thanks for helping me one last time SIlver" He looked so happy, you couldn't bring yourself to tell him anything, anything that you've kept.

"It was nice seeing you again so far, promise me you'll stay healthy and happy?" you nodded as you stepped onto the Black Carriage.

"I will" However just as you said those words, it felt as if something had overcome your own rules and senses, and you grabbed his hand.

You felt oddly bitter at this point, he looked a bit confused but if anything Silver was also doing his best to restrain his emotions for you right now. It was quite awkward as you both stood there in silence, you couldn't even look at him right now because of how overwhelming it felt.

"You know this is what I would have done back then when I graduated and you said you stayed" He knows that there's something you wanted to say after so much time had passed you still haven't gotten rid of that bad habit of pleasing people, have you?

"I never knew when it was the right time to tell you, honestly every time I plan to do so... I feel like I was ruining your happiness" You're trying so hard to keep your emotions in check.

"So? You're allowed to be selfish for a little bit (Y/n), everyone was born like this no matter how loving they are." you didn't even notice you were crying until he wiped your tears, they tasted as sweet as he imagined them to be. "Since you allowed me to be so selfish, I think it's only fair if you get to do the same thing."

"...I love you." Through the overwhelmed emotions you told him what you had hidden so long. " 4 years and you'd thought someone would forget they ever fell in love with someone, I love you, Silver."

"..." both standing in silence, you had no other words to describe your current feeling, you were prepared to have your heart broken. "I love you too."

You wondered what the younger you would have said if they saw all of this, maybe they would have been as happy as you were right now, like a song you once heard, your world... although you could no longer return to it you were happy because you have found a new world which you could love.

"How far, how long will we live? I'll try to be strong when you're anxious, this is my promise to you." Under the starry skies, you departed your lover and returned to NRC.

Malleus and Titania's relationship in fluffly little snippets.

Acceptance How long did it take for them to accept that they were in love? What were they like after accepting it?

Malleus would accept immediately he was in love with Titania, if he knew what that meant. She was his first friend so he assumed the butterflies in his stomach and the fluttering of his heart was normal in friendship. Thankfully, Lilia was a bit brighter and was able to put two and two together for the sake of his son. 

“Well,” Titania sighed, “guess I should head back.” She cradled a sleeping Grim in her arms, a sign that she’d overstayed her welcome at Diasomnia’s dorm. Lilia watched from afar with amusement as Malleus rose quickly to meet Titania at the door. He pouted and played with the sleeve of his uniform. 

“You’re more than welcome to spend the night,” he said. “I have plenty of space in my room.”

Titania chuckled. “I appreciate it, Mal, but I still have chores to take care of at Ramshackle.”

“I can help with those. It will be easy with magic.”

“I couldn’t ask you to do that.”

“Then, at least allow me to walk you.”

“Nice try,” she teased, “but last time I let you walk me, we ended up staying up even later. I’ll see you tomorrow, though.” Malleus sighed and Lilia couldn’t help but laugh. He was quiet enough that Titania didn’t hear him, but Malleus sent him a dirty glare over his shoulder before bidding Titania goodnight.

Once she was gone, Lilia joined Malleus in the lounge. He was still pouting and the depressed aura radiating off of him made Lilia sigh. “Oh, Malleus.”

“Is it wrong that I wish to spend more time with my friend.”

“No,” Lilia said, “but is she really just a friend?”

Malleus tilted his head. “I don’t follow.”

“Yeah, I figured as much,” Lilia said. “Let me rephrase it. How do you feel about Titania?”

“She is one of the dearest people in my life. I wish to spend as much time with her as possible before she leaves.”

“And if she leaves?”

“I would be devastated,” Malleus admitted. “I would ask her to stay with me forever, if I could, but it is her choice.”

“Alright, how about this? What if Titania did stay with you?”

“I would be delighted–.”

“Because she and I married.” Instantly, the dorm became dark and Malleus’ pout turned to a full on scowl. Lilia laughed and gave him a pat on his arm. “I’m only teasing you. But, you should consider your own feelings more closely.”

“Again, I do not follow your line of thought.”

“You got angry when I suggested I might harbor romantic feelings for her,” Lilia explained. “But if you would not be happy if I courted her, then who should pursue Titania.”

“Me,” Malleus answered without hesitation. There was a beat of silence, then his eyes widened and his ears turned red. “Oh.”

Lilia howled with laughter as Malleus went to lay down and consider his next course of action. 

Best Friends What was it like to be friends with them? Have things changed since they started dating their s/o?

There wasn’t much of a difference between how Malleus treated Titania before and after they started dating. He still often followed her around campus and accompanied her on any minor errands she had to run. They still went for nightly walks to look at the campus gargoyles and Titania was already a familiar face in Diasomnia so it wasn’t a surprise for dorm members to find them in the lounge together. In fact, there were two major reactions to finding out Malleus and Titania had started dating. 

“Oh? I didn’t notice.”

“I thought they were already dating.”

The biggest shift in their relationship that came with dating was now Malleus was almost unashamed in his affections for Titania. He became much more physically affectionate (kissing her on the cheek, holding hands, cuddling, etc.) and spent a lot more time by Titania’s side. He wasn’t sure if she’d be returning to her own world one day and was too afraid to ask her to stay with him, so he wanted to monopolize her attention while he still could.  

Confession How did their confession go? Was it planned or was it out of the blue?

Malleus gave himself one week to plan his confession. He didn’t want to risk Titania being swept off her feet by Lilia anyone else, but he wasn’t going to do this half-baked either. He wanted to make sure he properly conveyed his feelings to her and, as the week drew to a close and the final details were ironed out, he found himself nervous for the first time in his life.

He planned to confess on their nightly walk, underneath her favorite gargoyle on campus, but now that they were walking in that direction he thought he was going to throw up. His heart was threatening to climb out of his body via his throat and he couldn’t focus on the story Titania told him no matter how much he wanted to. 

The gargoyle came into view but before they could get any closer, Titania stopped. Malleus stopped too, hoping his nerves weren’t obvious when she faced him. “Are you okay?”

“What do you mean?”

“You seem…” she trailed off and looked him up and down. “Do you feel alright? If you’re sick, there’s no need to push yourself. We can always do a raincheck.”

“No!” Malleus shouted. He shook his head vigorously. “I feel perfectly well. Let’s continue, please.”

Titania sighed. “I can tell something’s up. You don’t have to pretend.” 

“I promise you I am not ill–.”

“Well, I’m not moving another step until you tell me what’s wrong,” she said. She crossed her arms and stared up at him stubbornly. He knew that expression well–she was giving him the Prefect Stare Down–and he relented with a sigh.

“Very well,” he said. They were close enough to the gargoyle and Lilia had said that it didn’t need to be perfect so long as he spoke from the heart. He took Titania’s hands and held them gently. “I am nervous.”

“How come?”

He hesitated, for a moment, then said, “I am in love with you, Titania.” She gasped and her hands squeezed his. “Tonight, I planned to confess, which is why I was acting strange. I realized one week ago that my feelings for you went beyond simple friendship. You do not have to feel the same way. I will not be offended. I only wish to stay by your side for as long as you’ll let me.”

“Oh…” she whispered. Malleus swallowed his thundering heart as he watched Titania’s face split into a wide grin. “What if I said I wanted you to stay with me forever?”

Malleus matched her smile. “You would be granting me eternal happiness, then.” She giggled and added, 

“I feel the same way, Mal. I’m so happy–.”

“YES!” 

A sudden shout from a nearby bush caused her to jump. Malleus pulled her instinctively into his arms but when he turned to the source of the noise, he saw Lilia and Silver attempting to pull an overjoyed Sebek back into their hiding place. 

Date What was the first date with them like? What is their go-to date? What is their dream date?

For their first date, Malleus wanted to do something Titania wanted. They often walked around campus or spent time stargazing because they were things he enjoyed doing. So, for their date, he was determined to show that he paid attention to her interests just as much as she paid attention to his. 

He surprised her with an all-day pass to a botanical garden in the Kingdom of Heroes. He was thankful for Theseus, who recommended the garden, when Malleus saw Titania’s face light up as they entered. With so much space, there were more magical plants here than they could grow on campus and Titania spent hours inside taking notes and absorbing as much information as she could about the plants. 

She would talk a lot about plants from her world too, and Malleus listened to her every word with a soft smile on his face. He knew she didn’t talk much about her previous world so the fact that she trusted him enough (or was simply so excited she forgot her reservations) to go on and on about wild flowers she grew up picking made his heart warm. 

They stayed the whole day and stopped on their way back at a ramshackle (heh) ice cream shop on the side of the road. “Thanks for today,” Titania said. She leaned against his shoulder as they ate. “It was a lot of fun.”

“I’m glad you enjoyed yourself,” Malleus responded. “I, too, had a wonderful time.” She laughed and looked up at him.

“Even though I just talked your ear off?”

“Beloved,” he said, “that was my favorite part.”

Elapse How long can they go being away from their s/o?

Shocking no one, Malleus doesn’t like to be away from Titania for long periods of time. He gets visibly depressed whenever they are separated for long periods of time or something interrupts their designated time together. 

He tends to sit around the Diasomnia lounge, pouting and sighing, so everyone knows he’d rather be elsewhere. Most have gotten used to moments like these, but Lilia does his best to help Malleus through the ‘dark’ periods. Thankfully, Malleus and Titania are more together than not and so Diasomnia doesn’t have to worry about the depressive episodes too much. Malleus also has the ability to pop into wherever Titania might be if he ever gets lonely. 

This has caused Grim a few heart attacks but he’s managing… somehow.

Fight How often do they fight with their s/o? Do they apologize first or do they wait for an apology?

Malleus will avoid a fight with Titania at all costs. He is the epitome of that tweet ‘my girl and me don’t argue, she bashes my head in with a rock and I walk it off like a man’ but that doesn’t mean they don’t have their occasional minor spats. This usually results from small miscommunications or one person not understanding the other’s intention. Their fights rarely last longer than an hour despite both of them being terrible at apologies.

Typically, Malleus and Titania don’t apologize out loud since both of them are awkward with their words. Instead, apologies look like cuddling under a blanket for a while in silence or walking hand-in-hand through Titania’s garden. If, on the rare occasion, the argument gets really bad, they will both attempt to talk through it as best they can though sometimes Lilia will have to act as a mediator. 

Gift What is something they would buy as a gift for their s/o?

In true dragon fashion, Malleus has acquired quite the collection of trinkets to give to Titania. Ranging from precious gemstones from Briar Valley to various knick knacks he’s picked up on his walks. He holds onto everything she gives him as well which isn’t nearly as valuable as the historic treasures from his home country, but don’t tell him that. His room is starting to look like Lilia’s with how much he’s hoarding.

Hug Do they like to hug their s/o? If so, how often do they hug them? What are their hugs like?

Malleus is incredibly touch-starved and almost cries every time he and Titania hug. However, he is too awkward to initiate hugs, or any form of physical contact, so Titania does most of the legwork on that end. He never turns away from her affection and is always happy to wrap his arms tightly around her and squeeze her until her bones pop. Once affection is initiated, he is always the last to let go.

Introduction How did they meet their s/o? What was their s/o’s first impression of them?

True to canon, Malleus and Titania met when he was walking around Ramshackle and didn’t realize the dorm was no longer unoccupied. He was surprised that someone was living in Ramshackle, and even more surprised that this student wasn’t afraid of him in the slightest, giving him a silly nickname to boot. For this reason, he was immediately attached to Titania and spent as much time as he could at Ramshackle befriending her. Still, he was afraid of her finding out who he actually was and becoming terrified so he kept that secret as close to his chest as he could until VDC.

That night, as they walked around Ramshackle’s garden, he broached the topic, “Are you not afraid?”

Titania stopped walking and blinked up at him. “Huh?”

“Of me,” Malleus clarified. “Now that you know my true identity.”

“Oh, that,” she sighed and he held his breath. “I knew.”

“...Pardon?”

“I knew who you were,” she said. “I mean, not the first night we met, but I heard the chatter and put two and two together.” 

“You knew this whole time,” Malleus repeated in disbelief. “Why weren’t you afraid?”

“Why would I be?” she replied with just as much disbelief as him. “You’re you.”

This was the moment Malleus fell in love, though he didn’t know it yet. 

Jealousy How easily do they get jealous? What do they do in that state of jealousy?

Malleus gets jealous very easily but he tries not to make a big deal out of it. His emotions come from a place of isolation, the loneliness he felt in his childhood and the fear that he might end up there again. Still, he trusts Titania and knows that she doesn’t intend to make him feel this way so he mostly keeps it to himself. 

Whenever he’s feeling jealous, he gets pouty and more physically affectionate. He’ll wrap his pinky around her’s or sit so close to her that their shoulders touch. He also instinctively glares at whoever is making him jealous in order to scare them off, but if it's ADeuce or the other first years, they’ve gotten used to it enough to be unaffected.

Malleus thinks he’s being subtle in his expressions of jealousy but Titania can tell immediately. She doesn’t say much about it, however, because she thinks he’s cute when he gets like that. 

Kisses What are their kisses like?

Despite him being so constipated when it came to other ways of physical affection, Malleus adores kissing Titania. In public, he presses occasional smooches to her cheeks, nose, and forehead but in private he practically latches onto her, smothering her lips every few minutes for no particular reason. 

One night, after chatting on Ramshackle’s couch for hours, Malleus was in the doorway of the dorm bidding Titania goodbye and goodnight. She was wrapping his school jacket tighter around him and chastising him for not bringing a scarf. “It’s getting colder now, you know?” she said. “You really should bundle up more.”He smiled and said nothing, a secret locked deep within his heart that the reason he didn’t bring any was because he enjoyed her fussing over him like they were an old married couple. 

She eventually sighed and pulled her hands away before smiling at him. “Goodnight, Mal.”

“Goodnight, Titania.” Without thinking, he leaned down to her and kissed her lips like he was off to work in the morning. She squeaked and he pulled back a few moments later, feeling warm enough to brave the chilly night. “I shall see you tomorrow.” 

He left and made his way back to Diasomnia, only realizing what he’d done when Lilia asked him how his night was. Needless to say, Malleus was mortified and unsure how to approach Titania the next day, until she pulled him down by his tie and gave him a good morning kiss on his cheek.

Love When did they realize they were truly in love with their s/o?

Malleus was in love with Titania before they started dating, and confessed to her by saying ‘I love you’ so it was always there. Malleus didn’t always say it since he wasn’t good with words but he knew that Titania knew based on his actions and how he treated her on a daily basis. When he did occasionally utter those three words, Titania would respond in kind and he would smile nonstop for a few days creeping everyone out. 

“Do you ever miss your home?” Malleus asked one day at lunch. Titania slowed her chewing as she fell into a contemplative silence. She sat her sandwich back down on her plate and ran her fingers absentmindedly through Grim’s fur as she answered. 

“Sometimes,” she said. “But not so much that I miss living there. I miss my brother and friends, and,” she paused, “I miss being able to visit my mother’s grave.”

Malleus nodded. “Do you ever wish you could return?” His voice was barely above a whisper but he was taken aback when she chuckled. 

“Maybe to visit,” she admitted. “I’d like to say hello to everyone and,” she beamed up at Malleus, “introduce my family to the man I love. I think they’d like to meet you.”

He didn’t realize he was crying until Titania placed her hands on his face and began wiping away tears. “What’s wrong, Mal?”

He shook his head. “Nothing. I am… simply happy that you would think so highly of me to want to introduce me to your family.” He placed a kiss on her inner palm. “I love you, truly.”

“And I love you. More than you could know.”

Marriage How would they propose?

Malleus would have a very elegant proposal that came a few years after they both graduated from NRC. He and Titania were living together in Briar Valley and while life was certainly busy, he couldn’t complain too much since she was at his side. He decided to propose after talking it over with Lilia and his grandmother, and after getting Grim’s blessing of course, but he wanted to make sure Titania was on the same page. Once he received her confirmation that, yes, she did want to marry him, he began his proposal plan.

He spent a few days decorating one of the castle’s observatories with blankets and pillows and fairy lights before requesting for her to join him there one night. “Oh, wow,” she gasped when she saw the room. “This is incredible, Mal.”

He chuckled. “I am glad you like it. I know I have been busy lately so I wanted to take the time to do something special with you.”

Titania rolled her eyes, smiling, and pressed a kiss to both of his cheeks. “You say that like you don’t take time out of your day to spend with me. But, thank you.”

“Perhaps I deserve a few more kisses, then,” Malleus teased and Titania laughed before smothering his face in kisses. When he was finally satisfied, he led her to the center of the observatory where they could clearly see the night sky shining above them. “There is a second reason I brought you here.”

“Oh?” Titania said. “It wouldn’t have anything to do with that ring box in your pocket, would it?” Malleus frowned and she giggled, adding, “Sorry but subtlety has never been your strong suit.”

“Maybe, but surely you have something more to say than that.”

“I don’t know, I haven’t heard the proposal yet.” Malleus reached out and pinched her cheeks lightly which caused her to have another fit of giggles. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”

“Patience, beloved,” he said. “We will get there eventually. First, I’d like to spend some time in your embrace.”

And who was Titania to refuse him?

Malleus almost stopped calling Titania by her name entirely, instead preferring to call her ‘beloved’ or the occasional ‘love’ and ‘dearest’. In fact, he called her by nicknames so often that many of the officials of Briar Valley thought Titania’s name was Love until they met her. 

Titania calls Malleus ‘Mal’ for the most part. She’ll also call him more loving ones like ‘sweetie’ and ‘dear’ but mostly when they’re in private. When she’s mad at him, she’ll call him Young Master as Sebek had so desperately attempted to get her to do in school, and Malleus cries every time. 

Oath What is a bad habit they try to stop doing for their s/o? (putting others first)

Titania was unique in NRC’s student population because she was willing to help people out without expecting anything in return. While most came to her with good intentions, her willingness and inability to say no was taken advantage of quite a bit. She was often asked for help even when she couldn’t add anything or was too busy with her own problems to be effective. 

Even before they started dating, Malleus was aware of how she would stretch herself thin trying to be useful and it annoyed him that she wasn’t taking better care of herself. Once they began dating, he would often scare away anyone who approached Titania for her help when she couldn’t do anything. All it would take was one menacing glare from Malleus and Titania’s schedule began to clear up little by little. The fact that she now had more time to spend with him was just a bonus. 

PDA What is the most affection they’ll give their s/o in public?

Malleus isn’t against PDA and he’ll often have his hand in her’s or press light kisses on top of her head. He doesn’t like a lot of PDA because he believes that those affections should be reserved for himself and Titania only. Their classmates at NRC don’t need to know how many times Malleus will kiss Titania or how long Titania will hug him more; only Malleus and Titania need to know those things. 

Quandary  What’s the most awkward thing they’ve dealt with since dating their s/o?

Malleus has had his fair share of awkward moments since this is his first relationship and he really doesn’t know what he’s doing. Often, he goes to Lilia for advice, a habit he got into during the early years of his and Titania’s relationship while they’re at NRC. After they graduate and move to Briar Valley, Malleus will still approach Lilia with any and all questions he has, including ones that Lilia would prefer not to know about or answer. 

One of the most awkward questions Malleus asked occurred about a year after the move to Briar Valley. He approached Lilia while the bat fae was enjoying his morning tea and Lilia knew immediately something was going on. Malleus had the expression of a sad puppy and he was not accompanied by Titania. 

“Lilia, I need your help.” 

“What is it this time, Malleus?”

“I am afraid I might have really hurt, Titania. She says her whole body is sore.”

“Well, where is she?”

“She is still laying in my bed.”

Lilia spits his tea up all over the dining table and wishes briefly he hadn’t asked. 

Ruminate How often do they think or daydream about their s/o?

Malleus often thought about Titania, mostly because he would see things throughout the day that would remind of her or that he thought she might like. He’s not so bad since, being raised as the Briar Valley heir, he knows to focus on important tasks when it’s asked of him. Plus, he had the added bonus of seeing her pretty much every night so that would keep most of his daydreams satisfied during the day. 

Scent What do they smell like?

Titania says Malleus smells like calla lilies and old books, like the ones found in NRC’s library. Malleus also smells a bit smokey, though it’s more subtle and most people don’t notice it. 

Talk How often do they talk about their s/o in front of others?

Malleus will talk about Titania quite a bit but his audience is limited. No one other than Lilia, Sebek, and Silver are confident enough to speak with him to begin with. Lilia was often the one Malleus would go to for advice so he heard the most about Malleus’ uncertainties with making Titania happy. Silver and Malleus would chat about day-to-day things like gifts she might enjoy or how dates went. Sebek would flip-flop constantly between being happy for his beloved Lord Malleus and warning Titania not to hurt his feelings and being happy for his dear friend Titania and (subtlety) warning Malleus not to hurt her feelings. 

Unique What’s something they would do only for their s/o?

There are a lot of things Malleus will only do for Titania but his grandest gesture comes with his gargoyles. He has a few that are special to him on campus and that he basically gatekeepers from the other students, but after a few months of dating, he’s willing to bring Titania to see his favorite gargoyles. 

Vulnerable What’s something their s/o does that makes them weak to their knees?

Malleus is a simple fae who feels butterflies in his stomach whenever Titania smiles at him. Smiles were rare throughout his life, so whenever he gets one from someone he loves so dearly like Titania, he can’t help but feel on top of the world and dizzy from the height. 

Witty What was their reaction to making their s/o laugh for the first time?

When Malleus makes Titania laugh for the first time, he finds himself joining in with his own laughter. It was a contagious feeling of joy that spread throughout his entire body like a blanket of warmth. Afterwards, Lilia notices that Malleus becomes a lot more outgoing with Titania, talking more and taking more risks with his actions. Lilia feels very proud of his son for coming out of his shell around those he loves.

He also wants them to get along with Lilia, Silver, and Sebek and who sees them as a part of their and Malleus’ family.

Zzz How are they when it comes to sleeping and cuddling with their s/o?

Malleus sleeps with an iron grip around Titania. Their limbs are so tangled together it’s difficult to tell where Titania ends and Malleus begins. Later in the relationship, when Malleus gets more comfortable, his tail will start to appear in his sleep and wrap itself around Titania’s waist. Grim also finds his way into the cuddle pile in various ways, burrowing down in like a mole, and only noticeable from the sounds of his snoring.

I'll try my best!! I didn't really use and gendered terms because i like to keep everything as gender-neutral as i can.

Doesn't even realize he's falling for you until he realizes how much you distract him sometimes. Its just hes never meet someone as nice as you, not just to him but also to others. Even if they are rude to you at first, your still nice to them.

He loves that you try to solve things with words instead of fighting. He doesn't really know how to tell you that he likes you. He's worried that you wont even like someone like him, someone who's so strict and solves mostly any problem with a punishment. Just give him time eventually he'll tell you.

He doesn't even wanna admit he likes you at first, refuses to. Someone like you with him, he doesn't think it'll ever work out. He thinks your way to nice to be even seen with someone like him or who acts like him. But at the same time he cant help but hope you'll wanna be with him.

He loves how much care you give to everyone, how much your willing to help someone without getting anything in return for it. How loving you are towards everyone including himself, with all the horrible things he's tried to do.

He loves admiring you from afar, where he wont be seen. He'll even have the twins keep an eye on you time to time if he cant himself. He just wants to show you the same kindness you always manage to show him at times.

Vil will try to do spa days with you (even tho he knows you dont really need it). Its just the way he spends his free time with others. When he realizes he likes you, he tries to avoid you also. Vil loves how truthful you are, of course truthful in a kind way but still truthful. Vil loves doing your makeup for you if you'll let him do it. He likes that you try your best to be helpful to others no matter what, it just means your a hard worker.

Spends time with you quietly in his room, mostly him just showing you animes that you haven't seen yet. When he realizes he likes, ortho accidently tell on him by telling him in front of you that idias heart rate is going up and he's sweating more.

Idia loves how you try to get along woth everyone, no matter how different they are from each other. Even people like him, who don't like socialize. How you get along with them without pushing them to far to were they're uncomfortable.

Malleus loves taking you with him on his walks, he enjoys you company during the the walks. When he realizes he loves you, it actually causes him to wanna be with you more and spend more time with you. Like literally all the time unless he's required to go to other things.

Malleus loves how playful and loving you can be even towards someone like him. Epically since mostly everyone is scared of him. It makes him really happy when you listen to him talk and actually make conversation back.

Azul still feels estranged from land animals. Sure, he’d seen pictures of them in his books when he was underwater, and he gets to see them quite often now, but it’s still so... different from what he’s used to.

Doesn’t mean he doesn’t like them, though! He’s fond of them, especially domestic ones such as dogs and cats. When you show him your beloved dog, he’s quite endeared, and will happily listen to you talk about just how cute your baby is.

He’s more likely to watch from afar as you play with it rather than engage much, though. And he’s pretty curious about dogs in general, so he’ll ask you a bunch of questions. You’ll probably have some pretty long conversations, and he doesn’t mind at all when they just turn to you gushing about your dog. To him, you’re the cutest when you’re happy, after all.

Malleus Draconia

Thinks it’s the cutest thing ever, how passionate you are about them. Though he worries about scaring your pet away, since his appearence tends to do that. He may put off letting you really introduce your dog to him for a while, before finally voicing his concerns.

If it turns out it isn’t afraid of him then, well, your dog has just gained a second parent. Malleus isn’t super expressive so there isn’t a lot of open gushing, but whatever the dog wants from him, it’s getting. Even if it sheds all over his black clothes, he’ll love his new baby very much.

If it’s still scared of him, he doesn’t mind, though he’s a little hurt as he tends to be. He’ll hope it warms up to him one day! Meanwhile, he’s happy listening to you gush about all the cute things it does, and showing him pictures.

scarabia's dorm leader that never falls to make some, if not all, people's day bright. he cam be a bit oblivious and not understanding certain things but he does try.

and kalim, being the most sunshine he is, would be quite interested about you when he hears a handful of rumors he managed to overhear from a random customer and went on his merry way to talk to you. why? nothing really, he just wants to know of you're malleus level of unapproachable or different.

i'd say kalim would even notice his crushing on you until jamil or someone else points it out. he'd ramble on and on about how wonderful and kind and sweet and pretty— fuck, he's in love.

he's panicking internally and externally, jamil has to calm him down before it gets worse. it's because he doesn't like you (of course, this is kalim we're talking about!!), it's because he's new to crushing on someone for real. he had a couple of crushes, but most of them turned out as him desperate for friends or simple admiration, like an average fan to an idol.

but once he gets his feelings sorted out, you'll find him outside your window with lots of riches and jewelry beside him, as well as a whole choir singing a famous love song from the scalding sands.

jamil probably had to drag him away since he may or may not have done it at 3 am in the morning. an apologetic note from scarabia's vice dorm leader was posted on your front door in the next hours or so.

kalim is extremely affectionate, always having his arms thrown over your shoulders. he's always flustered whenever doing so.

kalim's prone to having intrusive thoughts, his anxiety spiking up whenever you're not close to him. he wonders where you are, who are you with and if you're safe or not, so he has a few friends who were more than willing to watch over you.

he doesn't just let his friends do all the work, he plants seeds of doubt in your mind, making weird comments about your friends and whispering lies into your ear in hopes you would drop them. he doesn't want to hurt anyone but if it means he can get you, he'll do anything to do that.

he's extremely possessive. his arms always finding itself snaked around you, eyes twinkling with malicious intent as he smiles brightly at the person who decided to ruin your time together with him.

kalim isn't as dumb as most people would think. he knows a thing or two and will not hesitate to use his wealth to get what he wants. he doesn't have much of a status when it comes to royalty but he has people who are and is willing to help him. after all, who wouldn't resist such a polite boy? it's not like they could, especially with the blackmail he somehow has.

he has no idea just how bad his obsession is, but he does know what he's doing is morally wrong. while it does hurts him to do awful things, he couldn't risk you slipping from him.

I'm so excited to find a blog who actually does Male/Gender Neutral pronouns! My request headcanons where GN!MC badly hurts their ankle during PE so individually Malleus, Vil, Leona, Jade, and Jack carrying them to the infimary. Probably mostly platonic but kinda leaning towards wanting to be more than friends?

I'm a sucker for 'platonic with some romantic elements' type of tropes so this is a big yes for me!

He knew that you're reckless and bound to injure yourself in any type of way just from how brave you are from talking to him. You called him "Tsunotarou" and you've now been chatting with him as much as you get the chance to or when he appears outside the Ramshackle dorm. Though he doesn't mind it, he knows that you should be more careful.

So when you injured your ankle, he was only shocked for a mere second. Again, it's supposed to be expected when it comes to people like you but that doesn't make him any less concerned. He ran his way towards you and that enough makes other students feel uneasy. Even if you two are closest of friends, you usually spend time without anyone there to see so you two are a very bizarre combo to the others.

He had asked you if you were ok and if you could walk again. Your ankle was sprained and your denial of being in pain almost fooled him if you didn't wince as soon as you tried to stand up. He was a fae, his ability to handle pain has far surpassed any ordinary human so he wouldn't fully understand but can still recognize that you're in a rather agonizing situation.

Malleus had no choice but to pick you up from the ground, not as he minds it but what he does mind is people not minding their own business and just stared at you two, God bless Mr.Vargas for telling them to resume the activities. There was no use if you're trying to make him put you down or get yourself down by yourself as he was way too strong, even if his grip wasn't tight at the moment.

He actually has no idea what's wrong with you, he doesn't know why you can't stand up on your own so you have to do the talking. The nurse persisted Malleus to go back to his lessons and it irritated him but you also shooed him out and told him to visit later when he's free. Very questionable as to why he's free as PE ended but you couldn't care less. He always visits you every day because of how you always manage to make him happy and his heart flutter and he is not sure as to why.

Vil always has loathed your carelessness. He has pointed it out several times and telling you to be careful but you just couldn't help but get into countless troubles and it's not helping that your best friends are intentionally and unintentionally troublemakers. He never gave up on scolding you for your careless actions as he wants his..friend to improve but it does get tiring getting angry over the same thing over and over again.

So you falling and harming your ankle until you can't even stand up without the feeling to cry was not surprising in the slightest, just like what Malleus felt. He facepalms to your recklessness before walking up to you to ask if you're ok but NOT before scolding you, telling you that your actions have consequences and other junk but you never cared enough to listen.

Once you said that you might have sprained your ankle, he dramatically sighed and called you a fool for that. Since even walking you to the infirmary was already hard for your side, he had no choice but to pick you up and asks you to stop struggling or freaking out so much like you weren't gaining enough attention from injuring yourself.

While he's used to getting attention, he doesn't like the one he's getting right now as this could end up with multiple scandals of you and him maybe dating. While he's not opposed to dating you- wait, what is he saying!? He doesn't like you that way, right? It doesn't matter is what he thought to himself at the moment as the main priority is to get your butt into the infirmary and do a three-hour lecture on why you should be careful as the scolding wasn't enough. He called out the people staring as rude and should mind their own business and to continue their PE lessons.

He got really upset when it was confirmed that your ankle injury was rather severe and not just mild as it would take about four weeks or even more to fully recover. He understood fully and left the premises as he does have a class to attend but worry not, he will visit you any free time he has. If he couldn't visit you, maybe a video call would suffice. While he wouldn't treat you like royalty, he would be softer with you as he slightly pities your condition. As you were discharged and needed to walk with a cast, meaning you will be slower than before, meaning Vil would also slow down his pacing as you are his friend! Yeah, friend..

Your recklessness was annoying but also what makes you interesting in the lion's eye. It was so entertaining to see a creature with sentience to have very little to no sense of danger. While he doesn't like the part where he gets involved but when he isn't and you're just figuring stuff by yourself is such an amazing show he could watch forever. Well, as long as you don't get seriously injured or something because truth to be told, he doesn't want you in any type of physical pain because surprise surprise, you're his pal.

So when something Leona doesn't want to happen to you happened, he mentally groaned in annoyance because he needs to get up from this comfy spot under the tree but he's still worried of course, it's just not obvious at all. People would've thought that he hated you or something when he saw him walking to where you are with a dead cold stare. When he found out that you were your cause of agony, he gave you an "Are you serious" look. He's very disappointed facial expression makes you embarrassed even more now.

He spat out a monotone "you ok" line, you thought that he was a robot for a second. You said yes and he told you to get your ass up from the grass and you obliged but failed to do so. When he saw you winced as you were trying to get your left foot standing, he knew damn well you aren't ok and gets more worried. However, his expression never changed. He sighed one more time before picking and throwing you on his shoulder in one swift. Your struggles are no use as he was stronger than you.

He glared at the people that dared to stare, especially to the ones that were whispering to one another about utter nonsense, aka stupid "are they together?" Rumors. He decided to tell the nurse what's wrong with you but it was worded so bad that you had to do it in the end anyway, making him scoffed like he just didn't say "their ankle broke or something". He refused to return to his class because it's boring but deep inside, it was because he wants to stay by your side for the entire time of your recovery.

Even if you're discharged and able to walk with a walking boot, he still stuck at your side even from afar as he doesn't want to see you do anything stupid and maybe twist your spine as he does not doubt that you're capable of doing so because of how unpredictable you are. And maybe it's also because, from all the time he has spent with you during his visiting times, something about you shined more inside him. Inside where exactly? Inside his heart.

Jade loves this recklessness you hold. It's the reason why you're so unpredictable and he loves that about you. One second you will be the smartest person in the room, the next second you almost fall off from the second floor of the school building because some of your papers were accidentally been blown by the wind. While sometimes it can be quite troubling, most of the time it's enjoyable.

But now is the times where it's not as entertaining. He did the wrong decision of not keeping his eyes off you for more than 20 minutes to focus and trying to hone his flying skills as he heard you wailed in pain somewhere not too far away. He walked his way calmly to the source of your sounds of misery and see you lying on the grass with the broom beside you, absolutely helpless. He chuckled at your deadpanned face before asking if you're ok. Whatever your answer is, he knows damn well you aren't as you were wincing a lot as you were trying your best to get up.

He offers to walk you to the infirmary and you happily oblige. Only like two or three people would stare for a few minutes as walking you there isn't an abnormal situation as they did it before as well for other injured students. Just as soon as you two reached the hallways, where nobody is around to glimpse, he picked your figure up and continue your journey to the infirmary. If you asked him why he's doing this, is because it's faster and convenient to do it this way. Also, your face got so red when he picks you up and he thinks it's adorable, making you even redder.

For real though, seeing you all blushed up is quite endearing, he might tease you even more just to see that red face again. Anyways, he perfectly explained the situation of your ankle with some condescending remarks in it. He's a very busy man so he doesn't have that much time to visit you so he wishes you to discharge as fast as soon as possible so he can see your lovely face as much as usual.

So when you do discharge, he would always accompany you to wherever you're going if he's not doing that already. No matter if you need a cast or not, he would always treat you like a patient or even more, like royalty. He believes that he should make it up for not being able to visit, especially since you're always complaining to him how boring it was staying in the infirmary bed for four weeks. He can even get you red with this little special treatment, so why not go for it? It even secretly makes his heartbeat fast as well.

Jack hates people who do not think before doing their actions and you are no exception. Nobody knows how you guys got to be friends to begin because it feels so impossible. Maybe because you two were paired up for an alchemy class project? But he still sticks with you for more than eight months already. Maybe he likes you? Or he's like your low-key guardian? Yes, the latter is the second but the first one could be a possibility, who knows.

That's why he gets more irritated when your recklessness is the cause of your distress. He could take it as your punishment for being so careless and take this as a lesson but knowing you, that will never happen so that gets him even more irritated. He runs up to you and scolds you for a few minutes about why you should be careful and such, it's surprising how he's so calm despite how many times he has scolded you about the same thing. After that useless scolding, he finally asked if you were alright or not. He scoffed when you lied about your ankle injury and have no choice but to pick you up from the grass.

Why would you even try to make him drop you off? It doesn't matter how much you annoy him on the way to the infirmary. If someone's injured he takes thing seriously, especially if it's his totally platonic mate that was in pain no matter how severe it is. He would get rather defensive and would throw hands with people who are saying things that maybe your relationship is more than friends so, please remind him that you're injured and your health is something he shouldn't be easily distracted and fight people who don't know how to mind their business, even though you might not care for your ankle yourself.

You kinda did not tell him what's wrong with you nor did he even asked in the first place so you'll do the talking. He got pretty surprised when you told the nurse you have an ankle injury, even more, astonished when that it's in a severe category now. He didn't like that you were taking your conditions lightly and joking about it too. He's a good boy, so he would follow the nurse's orders to leave to resume his lessons. Just like Vil and Jade, he wouldn't visit you every day as he still needs to prioritize his school life and such. Though, he might cut a tiny bit of his workout schedule to visit you until you discharge.

So when you do discharge no matter if you need a walking boot or a cast or just nothing, he will keep his eyes on you more frequently as he doesn't want to see you do some dumb stunt and hurt yourself again. He would make your stay in the Savanaclaw areas close to him and let you do whatever you want while he works out. As long as you stay nearby and don't wander off. I repeat, he doesn't want his probably future lifelong mate to have a single scratch on their face.

·      You watched as Rollo barely kept his contempt from showing.

·      You wondered if he knew that his actions belied his words, especially when he tended to cover his mouth with his handkerchief.

·      You knew you would have to watch out for him and whatever he would try against your friends.

·      Honestly, you felt terrible for Tsunotaro, who seemed to be enjoying himself, but at least he had Sebek and Silver at his side.

·      And…

·      As you looked over to the roof of the Noble Bell College, a bat hung upside down without anyone noticing, and you knew a certain dark fae was also keeping watch.

·      Rollo was something else.

·      He was apparent in his ways.

·      He had admitted to knowing everything about the NRC students.

·      So, you wonder why he made it so evident that he was trying to get close to you to get close to the others, especially with Malleus.

·      Rollo being friendly to you was…unsettling, to say the least.

·      He gave vibes that told you never to trust him.

·      And you wouldn’t.

·      You just wished he would stop trying to get on your good side.

·      Running after Grim was a daily occurrence almost, but this was ridiculous.

·      At least you knew the layout of NRC, but this city was new to you.

·      And running after Grim was an extra hassle when you were trying to keep an eye out for the safety of everyone.

·      I am going to take his cans of tuna away when we get back home. This is getting ridiculous.

·      You would have continued looking for your companion if it wasn’t for the hand that grabbed you and pulled you into the alleyway.

•Riddle is absolutely outraged. He turns red in an instant, and it takes every last ounce of self restraint in his body not to scream “OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!” right then and there. He only sees you giving Ace the chocolate by chance, but he pauses to watch from afar and it makes his blood boil. He was planning on giving you a gift and asking if you wanted to be his girlfriend, but this completely set him off. Riddle doesn’t stay long enough to hear that you were just showing appreciation for Ace as a friend, he just say that you gave him chocolates of Valentine’s, not that it would matter regardless.

•For the rest of the day Riddle is extremely trigger-happy with his unique magic, to the point where Trey actually starts to worry about him overblotting again. But he can’t stop him either, because with how Riddle’s acting nobody can seem to get two words out without losing their magic. The biggest recipient of punishment is Ace, who for even small infractions that day not only loses his magic but gets all the chores in Heartslabyul dumped on him. From rose painting to feeding the flamingos and hedgehogs, all of it must be done by Ace, with no magic to boot. Ace would probably have yelled in protest if it wasn’t for Riddle’s horribly intimidating aura.

•While Ace and the others are busy avoiding him, Riddle does a “surprise dorm inspection”. It’s actually an excuse to find the chocolates you gave Ace and confiscate them while nobody’s watching- and the first thing Riddle does is take that entire box and burn it. He watches the flames eat away at the box, melting the chocolates you’d wanted to go to your friend, but to Riddle became a sign of betrayal. How could you do such a thing to him? Of everyone you could choose, why did it have to be that idiot?

•Riddle still has the gifts that he prepared for you, and he curses the flowers he got you. He puts a sleeping powder in the blossoms and rigs it to expel when you hold them near your face. On top of that, he quickly prepares his room to have one more occupant. Riddle won’t tolerate this, not for a second, so he’s going to kidnap you that night. Even thinking of you giving chocolates to Ace… he just snapped. He’s terrified of losing you, so he won’t let this stand, regardless of your actual intentions with the chocolate.

•He finds you before you manage to make it back to Ramshackle. Riddle insists you take the flowers, admitting that he loves you. Regardless of your response, he waits while you take the flowers. Eventually they get close enough for the flowers to spit the powder in your face, watching as you grow extremely dizzy and faint. He catches you, of course, and with the help of some magic he carries you right on back to his dorm room.

•You best grow used to it. The chocolate incident genuinely made Riddle snap, so you’ll be under a very strict set of rules until he feels he can trust you enough to let you leave his room- or his side- for any length of time. You made a serious mistake not going to Riddle first, at the very least speaking to him, and now he’s going to make sure you suffer the consequences.

•Leona hears about the incident second-hand, namely from Ruggie. He sent the hyena of you check out where you were- he wasn’t about to wander about looking for you and waste all that time and energy- with an invitation to meet him in the botanical gardens at lunch. Ruggie actually comes back with the invite in hand, which at first annoys the ever loving hell out of Leona, but he can’t tell Ruggie off because he’s got news. He found you… with Jack Howl. Giving him chocolates. Today. This morning. Before class.

•Even after Ruggie tells Leona what he heard- you were trying to show that you appreciate Jack for making your stay at NRC that much better- the prince is still livid. Did the little herbivore really think she could just go around and do that willy-nilly? Oh, you poor, silly little thing. Leona is incredibly possessive over you and is not about to let this slide. Regardless of your intent, Jack could so easily get the wrong idea. Did you even know what kind of predators lurked around in this school? Clearly not, because you didn’t seem to understand just who you were supposed to give chocolates too.

•Leona pretty much orders Ruggie to stage an ‘accident’ for Jack, just like the Magical Shift Tournament incidents. Ruggie’s reluctant to do it, but Leona won’t let him sneak out of it. Get it done by the end of the day, or you’re not getting back in the dorm. He’ll figure out how to handle you once Ruggie leaves, reminding him to still give you that invitation. He has plans for that.

•He doesn’t even fake concern or anything when the news of Jack’s unfortunate “accident” reaches him. Serves him right, in Leona’s mind, he’s not going to let a first year shove him into second place in your heart. He continues to wait until the day’s end, lying in wait in the botanical garden and watching for your arrival.

•Leona doesn’t wait when he sees you, he just pounces, hand on your throat as he tackles you to the ground. He doesn’t squeeze, but it’s a threat for sure. He’s glaring as he demands to know why. Why was Jack better than him? How did Jack make your time here better than he did? How was he not good enough for you? Why did you ever think that you could escape his sights? It’s a dangerous world out there, little herbivore. Only he can keep you safe. There’s nothing Jack could do for you that he can’t do, so how come you picked him instead?

•Even if you attempt to explain that Jack’s just a close friend, that it’s completely platonic, Leona doesn’t accept it. You clearly just don’t know what you’re up against. Leona throws you over his shoulder and brings you back to his room, deciding to keep you in there because you clearly don’t understand what’s best for you. He wanted to respect your choices, but he can’t have you turning away from him either, so Leona takes it upon himself to show you the correct choice.

•Vil is straight-up offended. Like, extremely offended that you even considered giving Epel chocolates, forget about actually giving them to him! How could you go to someone Vil’s still training, someone who has so much work to be done on his attitude, when you have the Vil Schoenheit right there?

•He likely finds this out from Rook, who he sends out to spy on you when he can’t keep an eye on you himself. The reason only makes Vil’s blood boil more. Really, Epel was the one who made your time here better? That boy of all people was the one who was your closest friend? Vil has sent you gift after gift, he’d gone so far to craft the most perfect, beautiful romance for his darling flower… and you try to throw that all away for Epel? Vil has his sights set on Epel as his biggest threat now, especially since it was a gift given on Valentine’s Day. Don’t you realize how it looks, a beautiful girl like you giving someone chocolates on Valentine’s? It doesn’t matter if you’re just friends. He’s not having any of it.

•Vil locks himself in his room, and it quickly becomes a disaster. It looks like a tornado rushed through, Vil’s makeup is smudged, yet he’s too angry to care. He’s glaring at his mirror as he carefully styles his hair, correcting everything to be even more beautiful. Surely, you can’t look past him like this, now can you? But that isn’t all. Vil is an intelligent man- beauty is also a matter or the mind, not just the body you know- and he isn’t going to let Epel get away with stealing such a precious gift from him like that. Clearly, those chocolates were destined to be his. But then this unworthy beast got in the way!

•Before the day ends, Vil has those chocolates in his hands. He takes them to the alchemy lab when nobody else is around, and he puts something… special on them. Two different potions. The first Vil makes is a simple poison; not deadly, but enough to make Epel feel nauseous and dizzy. Then, he adds a potion that makes you loathe the first person you lay eyes upon. If Epel thinks that he can have you, even as a friend, then Vil is going to do everything within his power to crush that under his boot.

•Another thing he does is make a small vial of another potion; one he didn’t want to have to use, in truth. Vil, seeing you as being the one person who can match him in beauty, wanted your romance to be just as beautiful. He wanted it to be something worthy of you both… but there’s an obstacle, and he can’t stand for that. So Vil brews something forbidden; a type of love potion. Nothing too powerful, but enough to give you a little nudge. Giving those chocolates to Epel pushed Vil over the edge, so if you don’t see him as the reason that your stay at NRC is a bit brighter, then he’ll change that. This isn’t a powerful love potion, but it’s enough to “kickstart” the response he wants; in theory. Hopefully it’s enough you won’t question it, either- while forgetting all about Epel.

•Vil seems like his usual self as he hands Epel the chocolate box, saying he found it left in a classroom and that Epel should be more careful. He watches as Epel tries a chocolate, barely able to contain his smirk as the boy looks right at you… and suddenly complains about feeling ill. You rush him to the nurse, alone. There’s no way he doesn’t see you first. When he sees you run by the lunch room, crying, he knows that it worked like a charm. Vil makes sure to throw the chocolates away, no longer seeing any use for them. Then, he grabs your favourite drink, and on the way to see you slips the love potion into it. He’s stepping into the second phase.

•Again, he seems perfectly normal. Telling you crying is unsightly, softly scolding you before he hands you the drink. Pulling out a handkerchief, Vil wipes your tears away, pulling out his makeup kit from his bag. He tells you to be grateful; he’s going to correct your makeup (or just do it for you if you weren’t wearing any) so be sure to stop crying. He waits as the potion kicks in, smirking a little when you blush at his closeness. Exactly as planned.…

•Frankly, by the end of it, Epel won’t even talk to you anymore. The potions Vil made have made Epel “willingly” remove himself from your sight, and lead you to see what’s right before you. A disasterous day, for certain. But Vil doesn’t mind, so long as you’re his dearest little flower at the end of the day.

•Well, this simply won’t do. Azul tried to remain composed once Jade reports back to him, telling Azul what he saw, but he’s on the verge of tears the second that he shoos him out. After years of bulling, being told that he was stupid, useless- this just breaks Azul’s heart. He’s been there this entire time, pining first you, getting you gifts and expertly romancing you… yet it’s not enough. You give chocolates to Deuce on Valentine’s, telling him just how much he means to you. Even if it’s just as friends, you may as well have taken a knife and stabbed Azul yourself. It hurts. He just wants to crawl into his octopot and die. Was Deuce really that much better than him?

•This is the only revenge that won’t take effect within the same day, the plan only bearing fruit after a few weeks of effort. Azul is very intelligent, and not to be underestimated. He’s dragged Deuce into a contract once before- Azul knows that he can pull it off again. He’ll let Deuce happily eat those chocolates for now, but Jade and Floyd are now watching you and Deuce like hawks. Nothing that either of you do is unseen if Azul can help it, the time that the twins aren’t keeping watch being covered by magic. He’s looking for an opportunity, drafting the perfect contract just for Deuce. As for you… well, you’ll find out soon enough.

•With some well-place sabotage, Deuce’s grades start to drop, and that’s where Azul himself comes in. He directly meets with the first year, saying he has a deal for him. Deuce tries to refuse at first, but when Azul tells him he’s not asking for magic or servitude in return, he gets him to listen. He’ll hand over the notes, just give Azul some very precious… that’s all. Deuce ends up signing it, although much to his horror after the fact, the price is never being able to speak with you again. If he dare tried to defy it, every time he’ll be given a horrible, electric shock- and the same thing happens if he tries to discuss the terms with anyone else. Deuce is avoiding you against his own will, basically forced to ghost you, while you’re left in the dark about what’s going on.

•But of course dear, generous Azul has just the thing for your sweet little heart. Not a contract this time… but someone to confide in. He’s letting you into the lounge as a safe haven- don’t you worry your pretty little head about buying a drink, it’s on Azul this time- with Azul always right there to confide in. You thought that Deuce was so wonderful, making your stay better? Well, Azul is more than happy to slide into his place and become your companion. He’ll let this Valentine’s Day go, so long as he alone has all those that follow. Essentially what Azul does is he forces a chance to sneak his way into your life, taking Deuce’s place as your dearest friend with the goal of being more.

•Azul will ask you to be his girlfriend later on, once he believes he’s properly charmed you. Be careful; if you deny him, you’ll have to carefully watch what you sign… or else you’ll end up in a contract with Azul yourself. He was far too close to losing you once- Azul isn’t going to let it happen twice.

•Malleus is quietly displeased; he’s likely assigned Sebek to protect you and keep watch over you before regardless, so he isn’t exactly shocked that you’re fond of Sebek but he’s still unhappy about the matter. He didn’t see Sebek as a threat due to his attitude towards humans, but yet you ended up giving him chocolates anyway…

•Sebek ends up shocked and sputtering, even blushing when you thank him. “You’ve made my time here easier to bear, Sebek, and I really appricate it. I hope you like these, I made them for you.” Sebek is unsure how to handle this or thank you- but Malleus can feel his heart breaking when he sees. Sebek is close to his young master of course, and thus within Malleus’ sight. The prince is very, very unhappy. But he can’t help but assume you’ll be getting him chocolate too, right? Hasn’t he made your stay better.

•Then Valentine’s goes by. Malleus leaves his gift in your room, anonymously- a bouquet of your favourite flowers, a hand-written note, your preferred sweet in a heart-shaped box. Even a lovely ring that’s just your size. Yet, he finds nothing left for him. You don’t give a Malleus anything, and once the sun sets, he’s filled with intense, raging jealousy. So you prefer his butler to him, is that it?

•Speaking both as a prince and Diasomnia’s dorm leader, Malleus commands Sebek doesn’t speak to you again the second he sees him aga8n. Ever. Sebek hesitates for the first time in his life; he asks why, what did he do? But Malleus doesn’t explain. He just seethes, his aura even intimidating Lilia as he demands that Sebek forget you even exist. He isn’t too look at you again, or so much as speak your name. If he disobeys, there will be consequences. Sebek can’t defy his young master. He agrees. “I won’t go see that girl again.”

•Malleus will watch as you grow more and more hurt, unable to even speak to the boy that became your closest friend. But as your tears fall, suddenly another beautiful fae will walk into your life. Appearing so concerned, asking why a child of man is crying so late into the night. He seems so, very sweet. So kind and caring, even gentle as he lets you hold him and cry about Sebek, and gives you a safe haven. Malleus will have it so he can slide right into Sebek’s place, and garuntee that next year, he’ll be the only one you even think about giving chocolates to.

“Tsunotaro, I think I have fallen for you.” You quietly said warmth spreading across your cheeks. “Will you let me stay by your side till the last breath I take?”

That was a few nights ago, and he left you without giving a reply. Instead of saying anything, he instead returned to the confines of his room and hid. While Sebek was glad he’s back Lilia sensed something in him that he asked the younger fae to leave the future king be. Now, all he can do is watch you from afar as you share your smiles and laughs with your peers from Heartslabyul.

Oh, how I miss hearing that laugh of yours… He can’t but think as he kept his gaze at you.

You two stopped meeting each other ever since. Well, more like you change your course of direction the next night you saw each other. He can remember clearly how tired your eyes look, how you’re ready to cry one more second you stay in his presence. You merely bowed your head and walked straight in Ramshackle Dorm.

“Lilia, what should I do?” He cried that night. “My only friend, the only one who understands me outside of our family… has left me.”

“Humans are quite delicate creatures, Malleus.” The older fae answered, pity evident in his eyes. “From the sound of it, the trust that you two have has been severed from your actions.”

“I want to stay by their side, I want to keep talking to them, laugh with them.” He continued wallowing in his sorrow as he remembers all the times you two spent on each other's side.

“Tell me, Malleus.” Lilia made him sit upright and face him eye to eye. “Do you reciprocate their love?”

It's not that he doesn’t return your feelings, far from it. He loves you more than anything in the world. Yet, the thought of him living on as you age and eventually dying scares him. He’s tired of being left behind, of losing things he deeply cares for and living on without them by his side. Fears that clouded his judgment that night which lead to the pain twisting in his heart for not being able to be near you anymore.

Time is but a blink of an eye for his species but who would have thought that it could feel this agonizingly slow as well. What he thought had been years already is merely but a day… without you by his side. Just one conversation, that’s all he wants. He wants the normalcy of his days with you to be back. So, imagine his joy when you approached him with a smile once more.

“Tsuno – I mean, Malleus.” He frowned when you refrained to use the name you had lovingly given him. The pain in his chest returning even greater than before. “I have great news to share.”

“No need to call me by my name. You’re more than welcome to call me Tsunotaro as you please.” Please, call me Tsunotaro again. Call me with that love you have for me. “What is this news?”

“Crowley has found a way to send me back home!” You grinned as he felt his heart shatter into pieces, eyes widening in disbelief. “I can finally go back home! Everybody’s heading to the Hall of Mirrors to send me off.”

“Is that so…” He can't breathe. The pain is too much even though you’re finally talking to him again…you’re smiling at him again. “Then allow me to send you off as well.”

“Alright! Let’s go then!” You took his hand and guided him to your destination.

How warm. He can’t help but think so. I would love to hold your hand forever and never let you go.

You two arrived and you let go of his hand to greet the others. Farewell speeches were made, tight embraces, and souvenirs from each dorm handed to you. You grinned as you accepted everything given to you. Alas, it’s time for you to leave and you stepped in the mirror. The moment you’re gone, the mirror cracked, signifying that your departure is a point of no return here. He stood still as everybody slowly left the Hall of Mirrors until he’s the only one left. His eyes began watering as everything that happened finally sinks in. The now cracked mirror mockingly reflecting his broken image. You left, returned to your world facing forward with a bittersweet smile… and he let you go without answering your confession.

“Then the least you can do is give her closure.”

“(y/n), I too have fallen deeply in love with you…” Tears flowed endlessly as he gave his reply to no one. “So please…”

“Isn't it better to have a few years filled with love than have a lifetime worth of what-ifs?” You cried as he rejected your confession to him before running away towards your dorm.

“(y/n), it's nice seeing you here.” Lilia’s smile faltered a little as you hesitantly smiled back before leaving as fast as you can.

Day by day, you both tried to initiate conversations with each other without being too tense. He can tell how you’re forcing yourself to talk to him like nothing happened and it hurts the both of you. Both wanting the pain to end yet now willing to let go of what little interaction you have. He tried to distract himself by performing his duties as Diasomnia’s vice-leader, cooking food, even go as far as reading history books that he knew the true version of said history. All to dull the pain he feels as soon as his thoughts drift towards you.

Why did you have to have such a short lifespan? He kept asking himself as he leafed through a book he’s holding. I would love nothing more but to stay by your side and start a family. A simple life with you… how nice it sounds.

But he can’t fathom the idea of existing without you by his side once your time in the world expires. He’s more than happy to love you with all his being but he can’t help but hesitate as he thinks of the future ahead of you two. A few more days have passed and the two of you had officially stopped talking to one another. It was merely by chance that he spotted you talking with his son. He was on his way towards the light music club room to distract himself once more. Against his better judgment, he eavesdropped at your conversation with Silver.

“I envy you, Silver.” You spoke with such sadness that Silver can’t help but pat your head. “Despite you being human as well, Lilia chose to keep you by his side.”

“He truly does love you,” He reassured as you slowly began to shed tears. “He just doesn’t want to live without you by his side when the time comes.”

“And look at what happened instead.” You scoffed as you wiped your tears harshly. “I can’t even bear talking to him without being reminded that I’m not important enough to be able to stand by his side till my last days.”

“(y/n)…”

“I thought since he has you, he knew that this will happen and he’d rather treasure those few years with people he loves than just leaving them be.” Your eyes, tired and dull from the emotions swirling in your heart and mind. “Tell me, am I too foolish for clinging on that little hope back then?”

“No, you only followed what you felt was right.” He dropped his hand to his lap and looked down the ground. “Sometimes things just don’t happen the way we want it.”

“Thank you, Silver. No offense on your situation with Lilia though.” You smiled in defeat before standing up and dust off your clothing. “Please do keep your promise to me.”

“As much as I’m against it, I understand.” Silver sighed as he stood up as well. “Farewell, (y/n). Please don’t forget about us when you return home.”

Lilia froze as hopelessness settled in him. You’re leaving not just him but everybody else. He silently left the area and walked aimlessly as his feet somehow managed to bring him back to his room. His body felt colder than ever, body stiff and eyes wide at the realization of his fears. His fears of you leaving him behind as he will keep living his immortal life. Except, instead of through death, you’ll return to where you truly belong.

But, you also belong by my side…right?

He can’t help but laugh bitterly at his situation. He knew this would happen one day. He accepted this since that dreadful day he rejected you. So why…

“You’re right, (y/n).” For the first time in his immortal life, he shed tears and let out a scream of agony.

No matter how cold-hearted and isolated Malleus has always been, he’d be way different from the heartless monster that everyone saw in him when it comes to you. Though it isn’t that hard to tell why, it’s because you are different. You’re one of the very few people who do not fear him, the loveliest sister Malleus could’ve ever asked for and his best friend; at some point his only friend.

He used to avoid you when you were younger, he didn’t want his sister to come and fear him like enormous people already did. If his existence was meant to bring you any fear or pain, then it would’ve been best for you to never see Malleus. As a child his malicious aura did sometimes scare you, it still didn’t hold you back from approaching your brother.

You were still too young to see through him yet you could feel that deep inside, there was something special about him, something that kept you returning to him even as he wanted you to stay away. But having a a little child chasing him, rubbing the edge of his long cloak and cheerfully hugging him with her tiny hands from behind…Just how could he resist you? Oh dear, even as a child you were such a little surprise, weren’t you? He always thought that you’d avoid him like everyone else always did, he didn’t even expect you to consider him your brother.

Things continue to change as you grow, Malleus becomes way more comfortable with having you around as he knows that you do not fear him. You never called him a monster, and were always genuine when you said that you don’t care what everyone else says about him. He came to realize that he can be his real self while he’s with you without needing to carry the heavy chains of his family name’s honor and pride.

He’s just as helpful as anyone expects him to be, having a wealthy knowledge on hundreds of different matters completed with his iconic magic skills and natural talent, he’s probably the best partner one can ever ask for when you’re in need. From helping you with studying to training you and teaching you some of his magic skills, you know that you can always count on Malleus to help you (unless it’s with machines or technology-) But you’d better be prepared for the consequences, because he’d want you to tell him interesting stories and spend time talking with him afterwards. He’d usually joke about it being the price of him giving you a hand, but in fact he just enjoys having his time spent with you, and he’s always there to help you without wanting anything in return. His favorite thing to do with you would be taking brother/sister walks and having something cold and sweet~ Which would be ice-cream, probably.

Well, you always knew that Malleus enjoys teasing others, and he loves it even more if it’s with you because he knows that you won’t mind. He’s quite playful, from using his magic and never letting you win in games to suddenly hugging you from behind and spinning you around without letting you go. If he’s to tease you even harder, he’d lock you in his embrace to slightly tickle and bite you on the shoulder, just enough to make you laugh and let out an excited scream. Note that he also knows how to tease you verbally, comments like “Oh dear~ I see miss mini needs help” or “Well well, liltle sis has gotten herself into trouble again, hasn’t she?” are pretty common to hear from him whenever he discovers that you’re in trouble or need help. Of course he will help you with it, but that wouldn’t go without teasing you a just little bit.

As the princess of the Draconia family you surely aren’t one to underestimate, but your brother’s powers are still on another level. There’s no way to stop him from teasing you when he’s in the mood. But even as his games slightly bother you he’d makes sure to make up for it afterwards. Greeting you with a bright smile, telling you what a cute little sister you are and spoiling his sister with cuddles and piggyback rides is his common way of rewarding you. Who knows, maybe he’d give you one or two forehead kisses as well.

With all sweetness, don’t forget that he’s still the Malleus Draconia whose name send shiver down everyone’s spine. He’d be no kind when he’s serious, and he’s always serious over protecting you.He won’t hesitate to burn anyone who dares bother his sister alive, those lowly creatures don’t even deserve to be the dirt under your feet let alone having you cry for them. Anyone who dares hurt you shall deal with Malleus, and all of the powers of hell. Let them know what will happen when they lay a finger on Malleus Draconia’s beloved sister.

His protectiveness might sometimes be a bother though, to the point of not letting anyone approach you at all. To see all these strangers around you…he can’t help but to be afraid. How do you find these creatures trustworthy? You don’t even know them enough. How can you assure that they won’t someday betray you after all the time you spent caring for them? Though he does try to cooperate and let you be happy with your friends as you wish to, he understands that he doesn’t have the right to control you since it’s your life. But he’d always keep an eye on each and every one of your friends, even as he seems to be neutral towards them. If you’re okay with them approaching you Malleus won’t say a word in disagreement, though he’d still be watching your friends from afar with that deadly : “Okay but beware, you’re on thin ice” look on his face.

His feelings are a mess whenever there’s someone around you. He refuses to accept but he’s actually scared, not just because of you and how much he’s afraid of them abusing your feelings, but also for his very own sake. Malleus is aware that many in the world, including most of your friends, do hate and fear him, and he doesn’t want this to effect you.

He knows that he was partly born to be evil, and that’s something he can never change about his nature. But this doesn’t change the fact that he did try to be different for you, he wanted to be the brother you’d come to trust and hold dear just as he always held you dear in return.The thought of your friends’ fear effecting you hurts him like nothing does; to see all the trust and faith he always found in your eyes be replaced with hatred and fear.

You’re one of the very few people he ever held dear in his life, he doesn’t want to lose you. If you understand that in your friends’ eyes, he’s nothing but a monster would it change anything about the way you see him? Or even worse… what if…what if you one day live him all alone for your friends? After all you two have been through, would you as well start forget him like everyone else did?

His relationship with you means a lot more than it seems to him, and he doesn’t want a single soul to ruin it. He just wants you to be safe, and away from anything that might be threatening your life or future. Know that he’d always be protecting you by all means, even if he doesn’t reveal himself in front of your eyes. You’re his ‘precious little sister’, after all. And no matter what the obstacle is, you can always feel that you’re going to be safe;because you’ve got a wonderful brother who would always be protecting and watching over you like a dragon.

Everyone knows Leona is, well in the nicest way possible, a lazy cat. You know very well, seeing as you're always trying to get him to hang out with you.

Its apparent that you like him because who would constantly bother him like you do? You're always pestering him and trying to get him to, at the least, take a walk with you, but he usually brushes you off.

"I'm tired." He would say, before falling back asleep after napping for hours on end.

Most people who were put off like this would've given up, but not you.

You walked into his room and plopped a small bouquet of white bell-shaped flowers on the end of his bed.

"Leona, you're coming with me to the flower shops." Your tone was slightly demanding, but he knew he could scare you off if he really wanted to.

If, he wanted to.

"Yea, alright herbivore." He heaved himself out of bed, causing your eyebrows to shoot up.

"Oh-Really?? You're actually going?" You were shaking in place from excitement.

This was the first time he had actually decided to go with you!

"Yea, whatever, maybe you'll finally stop bothering me." He smirked lazily, flicking your forehead.

The truth was that Leona really did enjoy your company, and the night before he had thought about how much longer you'd tolerate his actions.

You picked up the bouquet Lily of the Valley and grinned.

"I knew these would work."

By the time you had finally made it to the flower district, Leona was already ready to take a nap.

"Oh come on Leona, I'm sure you'll be fine. Besides, they might sell catnip here."

He didn't even get the chance to correct you, for you had already pulled him into the first shop to look at all the flowers.

"Look at these, and these too-! They smell so good." He watched as you happily trotted through the store, looking at all the flowers and telling him all about their meanings.

"You sure do love flowers." He grumbled quietly, but on the inside he was delighted to see you so exuberant.

"Well yea, not only do they smell good and look pretty, but there's a lot of medicinal properties to some of these flowers."

There was this passion the burned so brightly from within you, and Leona found himself admiring you from afar.

"All flowers have meanings behind them too, you know. The flowers I showed you this morning, Lily of the Valley, mean happiness, 'cuz you make me happy!" You were ecstatic to be able to hang out with Leona here that you had practically no filter. You hadn't even realized you'd said that to him until he pointed it out.

"Ohh, I make you happy, huh herbivore? Is that why you always bother me?" He began teasing you, smirking the whole while.

Your face was bright red, so you tried to change the subject.

"Uhm, here these ones are hydrangea, they mean thankfulness. Y'see, all flowers have a meaning." You picked up a bouquet of hydrangea and held them comfortably before shifting your attention back to Leona.

He was looking at the roses with an expression that almost said he knew what they meant.

"Do you know what roses mean? I think roses are quite gorgeous. These are red, so they mean love, but other colored roses like white mean innocence."

You watched at he picked a single rose up and turned to you.

"Alright then." He toted the single rose around until the two of you were ready to leave.

When you were finished, Leona was holding the single rose and the bouquet of hydrangeas.

You escorted Leona back to his room, ready to retire to your own room when he called to you.

"You forgot your flowers." He handed you the bouquet of hydrangeas, and you began to thank him until you saw the single rose placed right in the center of the hydrangeas.

"Oh, Leona, didn't you want to keep your rose?" You were painfully oblivious, but he thought it was rather... cute.

"Ugh, what an herbivore... the rose is for you."

You picked the rose up, staring at it as your face heated up.

"Oh.. oH! U-h, thank you- I-" You stuttered all over the place, trying to find the words when you felt him gently kiss the top of your hair.

"We should go to the flower shop again sometime, it was fun."

Sebek

Sebek is, well.. everyone knows how Sebek acts about Malleus. He always singing praise about the young master, and it was funny at first, but when you began to develop feelings for the loud boy, it became a constant reminder that he wouldn't reciprocate your feelings.

Again today, he was speaking so highly of Malleus. It wasn't in your nature to be jealous, but seeing how he could sound off all these facts about Malleus gave you this weird feeling.

You didn't realize it, but Sebek had noticed a change in your behavior, and had consulted Lilia about it.

Lilia had been alive for years, so Sebek trusted his judgement on how to deal with human.

"Buy them flowers. It's a simple gesture, but it means a lot to a human."

So he did. He didn't know anything about flowers really, only that they were pretty and some smelled good but that was about it.

He had bought you lavenders because they were some of the most beautiful in the shop, and because he quite liked the smell.

When he showed up and handed you the flowers, the look on your face confused him.

"You're.. uh, loyal to me?" Your face had darkened slightly as you spoke, and when you looked at Sebek, you could tell he was much more flustered than you were.

He couldn't just say no- because he wasn't necessarily not loyal to you, but be was loyal to the young master in a much different sense-

He yelled out in a flustered manner to try and fix the situation, "Yes! I am loyal to you, (Y/N)!"

You couldn't help but giggle quietly as you cradled the lavenders.

"That's very kind of you, Sebek. You do know that flowers have meanings, right?"

"Of course- and I'm saying I'm loyal to you. I'm loyal to the young master too of course, he deserves loyalty-!"

You laughed whimsically, reaching up to ruffle his hair.

"Well thank you, Sebek, I'll return the favor with a few flowers for you too."

The two of you shared your goodbyes before reporting to your classes for the day.

Throughout the day, Sebek kept thinking about the flowers.

He didn't know all flowers had meanings! He knew about the rose's meaning, but he thought only roses had meanings!

If all flowers had meanings, then what would the flowers you were going to give him mean? What if the flowers meant something bad?

He wasn't one to dwell on one topic for too long, but the you and the flowers were on his mind all day.

He was anxious and even a bit excited to see what your flowers would mean. He wanted to head straight to your dorm to see you, but he also didn't want to seem desperate so instead he headed back to Diasomnia.

He waited and waited until finally, the next morning, he received a text from you asking him to meet you outside.

This was what he was so anxious for, so antsy for, so you already know he was at your side in a flash.

"I bought you your flowers, Sebek!" You grinned when you saw him.

You were hiding the flowers behind your back, possibly for dramatic effect, before showing them to him.

"I couldn't get them to you yesterday or else they would have wilted by night, but here you go, morning glories!"

He took the bouquet of small star-shaped flowers in his hand. They were petite and smelled slightly earthy.

"What... do morning glories mean?" He had been preparing for this moment, hyping himself up for this moment-!

"Affection." Your tone was soft and sweet, much like it always was when you spoke to him.

He looked into your eyes as his face slowly began to burn.

"I accept and return your affections!" He had gotten loud again, something that wasn't uncommon, but you understood the difference.

You smiled sweetly at him, causing him to avert his gaze.

One thing he learned growing up was that he didn’t wish to raise his children just like how his mother raised him

Rules are always fine to enforce but to let loose and give in a little to indulge never hurt a soul

So when he found himself with a little girl in his arms, he couldn’t help but just instantly melt with adoration and affection

He’d break any rule for her just to live happily and however, she wants

Does she want some cake or tarts? He’ll bring her over to Trey’s bakery for the afternoon. What about a long walk in the park to play with the local ducks? He’ll have some bread crumbs for her to feed them with

Something the two have in common as she gets older is a favorite type of tea

Tea parties are very common in the Rosehearts household, whether it’s with her stuffed animals or with just the two of them and a brewed pot of calming tea

He wouldn’t even hide the fact that it was just him raising her, and answer any questions she has

It may hurt at times to think about what could have been, but he focuses on what has been and what will be for her future

Yet he couldn’t be anymore prouder of his daughter as she grows up strong, confident and quick-witted

She does have a bit of a temper when it comes to idiots and numb skulls, but he could only sympathize and give as much advice as he can

Despite feeling as if he made a mistake, he wasn’t the type of man to just abandon and drop anything; he’s prideful

He’d take responsibility and watch over the little cub, even if it was annoying to have his tail and ears pulled on and a constant crying wail ring in his head

It would take some time for him to even warm up to caring for the child, as it all would feel like a chore

Expect a few servants to aid in the Second Prince’s responsibilities

At least until probably a heartfelt moment occurs between him and the cub, where he just wishes to care for her and not have anyone else take her away

That’s when he’ll become the clingy one; all bark but no bite

Especially since he already had a slight soft spot for his nephew, Cheka

One of his favorite activities to do with his little cub is grooming, since it’s a little intimate and it will initiate a tickle fight

And anything that involves him lying down or the ability to nap afterward on a comfortable bed is a win for him

Though his daughter doesn’t pick up his lazy habits or his talent of sleeping anywhere in a mere three seconds, she does have the ability to out-smart most of her classmates and friends

He’s proud to have raised such a smart and well-rounded girl

The thought of even raising a child scared him, and never occurred because of all his ambitions and greed; yet when he sees the small girl in his arms he never had a second doubt

It’d be hard, especially when he’s forced to bear all responsibilities

But he still has the Leech twins under his wing and can more or less just force some advice out of them, or share a quick deal for help

He’s just like some of the others, where he’s rather doting over his daughter

He’ll do his best to spoil them and give them anything they want; the only one in the world who can be given something without him needing to take

He’ll even make a few deals with others just to provide her with whatever she wishes

Though because of what he went through, he’ll make sure she’s up-to-date on her academics and studies

He prefers if she were to follow her own passions, as that what he did when he was younger

Sometimes he’ll also notice she hang out with the Twins a little more often than not, trying to use both his smooth lines and fatherly figure to get a squeak from her

But she won’t budge and he’ll be both proud and annoyed because he raised such a beautiful girl

Of course, it’s later found out she was planning on a nice dinner for the two of them

Which he’ll end up crying while eating the prepared fried food she had

He isn’t one to back down quickly from responsibility, he just needs to learn

At first, he sees only the charms and the adorable cuteness in his daughter, wanting to play with her; maybe even accidentally throwing her up a few times too high and getting her stuck up somewhere

This will cause Jamil to panic and wonder why he’s even a father in the first place when he doesn’t have the qualifications

Of course, Kalim has other servants and siblings to help him

Which he’ll accept their kind-heartedness when applicable to the situation or when he needs help

Which, as she grows older, he’ll end up needing more help and aid

He isn’t terrible and learns pretty quickly what he needs to do, and certain responsibilities that he has now that he’s a single father

Rather he does his best to smile even more and make sure that she has a carefree life, all the while looking out for herself just like how he learned

His past mistakes won’t interfere with her life, and he’ll protect her

Especially her bright and beautiful smile he’s grown to love seeing and wish to see every day

One thing he could never fathom was becoming a father, especially to such an odd little being

He’s not one to have a motherly touch or quite a fatherly instinct, so it takes time for him to even grow used to being around a child; even his own daughter

At some points, he’ll just let someone else he knows to take care of her as he does his own business

But his heart isn’t pure black coal, even if charcoal provides a perfect mask for the skin

He can learn to love his own little potato of a child, especially when he can show them the perfect skincare routines and how to look perfect every day

From early on she’ll learn colour theory and may take quite an artsy turn with her father’s hobbies

He’ll only show a bit of stubborn pride if she truly gives him a nice gift once she’s older

Of course, he also has a firm hand and doesn’t let his walls down -- even with his own daughter, so it takes time for him to relax with her and show some common interest

He’s just there to raise her, and then she’ll leave him

Like most new fathers, he’ll be having a mental breakdown and crisis

Add on that he’s now alone in taking care of a small soul of new life, and even with Ortho’s help, he’ll just breakdown more often than not

He only knows some lullabies from when he grew up and rumors, and even a few stories -- though all are a bit grim and not the greatest to show moral

He doesn’t mind learning new formulas and recipes to feed her, but he will have trouble even making edible food once to the point past baby formula

But that shows how much determination he has to even keep her living and to have her see the world

He’s rather fond of the idea of her memorizing certain things in life, or even just learning

So that makes him one of the fathers who may or may not take quite a bit of photo and pictures

He does it all in the wellness of his heart, and he prefers to have his own keepsakes as well for when she grows older and just ditches him for a man

But he rather not think about such things and tries his best to think to the present

Even though that’s quite a feat for him and he sometimes even gets depressed, so Ortho has to take care of watching over her while he’s in a corner

Being a father isn’t new for him, especially since he helped raise Silver with Lilia

And with his years, he’s seen humans and how they care for their own children and their own customs

But Fae? Him? With his own daughter? Right now in his arms just sleeping soundly?

He has to make sure every night for some years she isn’t in a coma or asleep forever, bound by a curse

Which leads to a morning ritual of kissing her forehead in the morning and whispering ‘Good morning, my sweet lily’

He’s rather fond of his own child, so it’s no surprise if she’s spoiled or just given everything; with his own twist

Long walks with talks about history, their homeland and even a few fun facts about Gargoyles if well-behaved will occur

Sometimes he surprises himself with how happy he gets, as it’s been some time since he felt complete bliss that wasn’t bound by something else

He knows how the world works

So once she’s older and can be on her own, he may get a little protective at first

But with Lilia’s help, he’ll grow to relax and just watch from afar
