Dick, proudly: I totally see him as a little brother now. And just the other day he told me he thinks of me as a second cousin.

Damian: I fucking hate them, gonna be the best parents though.

Dick: You know I won't be getting any sleep once the collab drops.

Damian: Bitch that is your child.

Damian: Did you fear clowns in the circus?

Dick: No. Clowns are people who go out their way to dress and act like a fool to make people laugh. That's one reason I hate the Joker. I never got why people feared clowns either. My third cousin was a clown and he was the best; even went to college.

Damian (surprised): There are clown colleges?

Dick: Yeah, he said it was strange, but fun. I think he works for PBS now. Want to know what I was actually afraid of?

Damian: Was it heights?

Dick: No, why would you think that?

Damian (hesitation): Your… parents died that way. I didn’t mean to offend; it’s just how they died.

Dick smiled, not offended by the statement since it was true.

Dick: You’re fine. I never had that type of fear, except for this one time as an adult, but that was because a villain caused it. Heights are something I’m used to; they keep me connected to my parents and my old life. What I was actually afraid of were lions. The tamers weren’t always the best at their jobs, and… sometimes one of them lost a hand or a leg.

Damian: Oh… that makes sense. I thought you’d say elephants as well.

Dick: If you treat an elephant with kindness, they’ll give you the same. Lions terrify me; they’re just giant house cats with sharper teeth and claws. I also enjoyed Dumbo as a kid… he was so cute and relatable.

Damian: Because you both have big ears or mommy issues?

Damian snickered, closing his eyes at his joke. Dick ruffled Damian's hair playfully.

Dick: You’re getting too blunt, but you remind me of a slightly less annoying Bruce.

Damian pondered that comment for a moment before smiling at the semi-compliment.

Damian: That was nice of you to say, Grayson. Can you tell me more about what you remember from the circus, if it’s comfortable for you?

Dick: Sure! I can finally tell someone about a circus geek, and it’s not what you think it is.

Damian crossed his legs in a lotus position, eager to hear more.

Dick grayson is the biggest emo.

I feel like everyone says he listens to Abba cause of discowing but I think he would totally be the type of dude to secretly listen to bring me the horizon , falling in reverse , sleep token, get scared , peirce the veil and sleeping with sirens .

He plays Abba in front of his friends and family to annoy them , he doesn't mind Abba, but in his personal time ? Oh my lord, does he scream emo kid . You have to remember the dude went after his parents murderer at 9 .

The only people who would know he listens to them are probably Wally and Damian, Wally's because , well . Obviously, they've been friends since the beginning, and he probably wouldn't hide it from him anyway ( let be honest, Wally definitely listens to panic at the disco).

Damian, because of their time as batman and robin together , no one else was around for the kid, really besides him and Alfred. He felt no reason to hide it from him . He picks damian up from school all the time, and while damian is complaining about his incompetent classmates , there is always a hidden song playing lowly in the background . Damian tutts , saying the music is designed for flaws , but secretly, he bobs his head to the songs when he thinks dick is not looking . His baba smiles in the rear view mirror as he looks at damian looking out the window of his seat , and maybe slightly turns up the music so damian doesn't have to strain his ears .

Let's be honest, damian definitely looks up the songs once he gets to his room ( whether that be at richards place or the wayne manor .) And keeps a small playlist of all the songs Richard likes . He will tell everybody that he hates the music, but really? He's glad to be learning new things about his baba that no one else knows .

(I'm definitely not writing this as I listened to bring me the horizon and complain about the lack of dick and damian fics on A03.)

Small Rant About Dynamics (ft. Damian Wayne & Dick Grayson)

it pains me whenever people seem to think all love is romantic love, or that romantic love automatically means the love for each other is greater. Platonic love that is so great- overwhelming until it fills every corner and crevice of your heart- makes me sick. whenever fic authors potray the insane amount of love that Dick holds for Damian- more so than he holds for the others- drives me crazy. The fact that Dick would do anything, kill and hurt and die and come back, just for Damian screws with me so badly simply because i know some will take them as romantic. But in reality, Dick literally just loves Damian so much. like thats his baby and you take it romantically :( they just make me so sad and miserable but they can cure me all at once
