Immortal Nanny

Bruce Wayne had never been a father. He knew what it was like to be a good father, and he knew what good fathers should be like, but adopting Richard was an impulse, a moment when he decided to give a child the comfort he needed, as he himself had needed in the past.

But just because he knew and understood didn't mean he could do it, or that he could become a good father instantly. Alfred would be a great help, of course, but it was he who had to raise the boy, Alfie was too old to start raising another child.

So, it was only natural that he forgot all about his busy life as "Brucie Wayne", adopting Dick hadn't stopped the million interviews or meetings, and while Alfred was extremely capable, Bruce still decided to hire a nanny.

Daniel Nightingale was a bit of an outsider (in a good way), he was studying at Gotham U, and was doing very well in his chosen career; though his records were strangely empty, Bruce knew he could trust him. His tired look and the shy smile he gave him upon arriving at the mansion was enough to calm his concerns.

Perhaps it was because he was just starting out as Batman at the time that he didn't investigate further.

Anyway, Dick loved Danny, from that first day, he used to tell Bruce about his "adventures" and how much fun he had. On one occasion he even told him they had a snowball fight (which confused him, because it was July but he was too tired to question the excited kid).

So, Danny became Dick's, and later Jason's, official nanny. He never complained and always smiled. The boy got along quite well with Alfred and would attend to any emergency, although he was never involved in the vigilante business.

It was only after Jason's death, when Tim arrived, that someone began to question Danny. Tim wasn't sure about Danny, there were a lot of things...that just didn't fit, and if the old photos of the mansion were any indication, the nanny wasn't getting any older.

Dick wasn't ten anymore and that was pretty obvious, but Danny looked exactly the same. Tim frowned, puzzled as to how no one had investigated such an oddity before. Alfred simply looked at him with an amused smile. He wondered how long it would take for the family to notice the (rather obvious) secrets of the elusive nanny.

Alfred couldn't blame the boy, the easiest way to hide something was in plain sight. And he knew the halfa would never hurt his family.

idk but tim's skills both in comics and in fanon are so inconsistent. like wdym he can fight azrael and ra's and lady shiva and he loses fights to... damian? like ok damian is a good fighter, trained by assassins and whatnot but it makes no sense, bc he wouldn't win against shiva

or like tim barely being able to hold out against jason both times he attacks him seriously (battle for the cowl and titan's tower).... but winning against all sort of weird ass shit in young justice?

im not even talking about how his intellect is all over the place, one day he is lying to batman and fooling doomsday and the other he is truly getting trapped/fooled by shitty ass villains like Calendar Man

So Danny ends up homeless in Gotham after a revival to his parents gone wrong and is trying his best to stay out of the bats way. Unfortunately the kid has the worst luck and an even worst hero complex so when he stumbles across a mugging he can’t help but jump in.

It’s only after he K.O.ed the mugger that he looking up and saw the civilian he saved looking at him and in a split second of panic just faded from visibility. I mean who’s gonna believe the guy if he says his rescuer just fu/king upped and vanished.

It worked out tho. So much in fact that when Danny once again found himself jumping in to trouble before he can think he just decides to disappear after.

This happens so much that people start to take notice and the conclusion they come to? A ghost. More specifically a 13-14 y/o ghost with black hair and blue eyes. More specifically the ghost of the black haired, blue eyed, Wayne kid that died when he was 13. 

Yep! Gotham comes to the conclusion that Jason Todd has come back as a ghost to protect the streets of Gotham!!

Now obviously this gets to Bruce who knows this isn’t the case because Jason is over in crime alleys right now hopefully not going on a murder spree again so he’s gotta find out who this is and preferably before Jason hears about this.

Bruce: Oh, yes! It was quaint. They even had a little Elvis impersonator and everything. Stephanie: Uhh... B. Those aren't fake. Bruce: Of course, they are! Who would actually get married like that? So pedestrian. Y/N: It was such a fun party-trick. Alfred: Master Bruce, did you get wed without me? I diapered your bottom and- Damian: Father, how could you?! Duke: Jeez, B- You really got married, huh? Bruce: It wasn't a real wedding! Y/N: Who gets married like that?! Cass pointing to Tim, who is holding Bruce's very real wedding licence. imagine how smart Bruce would be if he didn't get hit in the head all the time. "Lex Luthor is the smartest man on Earth--" "Tony Stark is--" right but if Bruce is holding his own up there AND he's been playing fast and loose with TBIs for a few years, that ranking is flawed.

Game-night in the batfamily has got to be crazy. You're putting a bunch of geniuses against each other and that's asking for chaos to happen.

Nobody know the kids of famous people, the Kardashians are well-known because they have a show (and people who don't give a fuck about it cannot name them), and some kids are known if their parents put them in the spotlight (North West, for example, but like, you could show me a picture of her and I would not recognize her).

I don't think the Wayne kids are famous. Bruce is, he is this attractive rich philanthropic guy who loves the cursed hell that is Gotham, it's his cover for Batman. But his kids? This man is overprotective, he would not let the press anywhere near his kids. If people knows barely anything about them, it's less likely they can be hurt in civics. And the more kids he gets, the less people remember them all.

A paparazzi took a picture of Dick/Jason/Damian at school? Wayne's lawyers at their front door. A rumor was published about them? Wayne's lawyers at their front door. A video of one of them filmed without consent finished online? Wayne's lawyers at their front door. Don't even dream about making some article pointing out his kids are attractive (for other teens or for adults for the adult ones), he will find you. Don't even try to say any racists or bigoted about his kids, he will ruin your life.

Some of them are very satisfied with this (Jason, all ages, and Cass, for examples). Some did dreamed of the spotlight sometimes (Dick. He is a performer, he was soooo annoying as a teen because he wanted to be famous!). But Bruce stood his ground.

In the end, Dick is a bit famous because of his position as "the heir", as he is the one stepping in Bruce's place to do damage control when Bruce dissapears. Tim is known because of his takeover bs he did when Bruce was gone in time (reminder that he is not the CEO). Bruce still doesn't let anything too personal or unprofessional about them exist.

That Bruce gets/meets all of his Robins no matter what.

Like it's a Canon event that he has them in his life. Like he doesn't take in Dick? Oh well Selina has a new child suddenly and it looks a lot like the kid from the Circus accident.. oh the kid that took his tires? He gives him a stern talking to and some money to get himself something to eat but he doesn't take this one home either, but..Talia finds him instead and raising him until she gets pregnant with Damian etc.

Like. BRUCE MEETS HIS CHILDREN SOMEWAY SHAPE OR FORM NO MATTER WHAT, THATD BE COOL instead of having Bruce just straight up be alone and then learns absolutely nothiny
