"And? What did you decide on?" Duke asks, fork slipping from his mouth and chewing, focused on Danny.
The boy in question hums. "Oh yeah, I'm totally joining in on the nightlife."
The statement has all of them stopping in their tracks, blatantly staring at the still eating boy.
"This will be my emo arc, daylight vigilante turned dark."
Tim snorts, Jason gives a smirk, nudging the eldest sibling next to him from his frozen state.
"Ooooh," Steph leans forward. "Have you decided? Bat or Bird?"
"New name?" Cass jumps in on the questioning with a small smile, eyes crinkling.
"Will you be joining us tonight then, danyal?" His twin speaks up for the first time during dinner, eyes narrowed and calculating.
"Yes." Is the short reply, with the way damian's lips turn down and displeasure makes itself clear, the intention of giving such a short answer has been met.
"Danny," Bruce gains the attention, leaning forward with his fingers interlocked and brows furrowed with what must be worry.
"Are you sure? I don't want you to feel pressured into this just because everyone else is—"
"I'm more than sure, B!"
The man sighs. "And I won't be able to stop you?"
"Mhm." He gives a nod.
"Okay," his shoulders sag in defeat. "Do you have everything then—?"
"Yep!"
"Even—"
"B, I'm pretty sure I got everything, you can, if in your opinion I am missing something, give it to me later!"
Danny grins, pushing himself up from the table and rounding around towards the door.
"Besides! My whole get up will be a suprise!! So stay awake folks because I'm gonna blow ya all away."
As he leaves, Steph and Duke make sounds of anticipation, curiosity eating at all of them.
(They dont know whats gonna hit 'em.)
"I'm betting 50 bucks that he's gonna be a bat."
Alfred shakes his head at the newfound excitement.
—
What an exciting night.
There is still no sight of their newest, despite oracle's teasing, having apparently already been included in the suprise.
"Well well well," a sly, yet teasing voice makes itself into the open. Catwoman, in all her glory, walks up to the group of bats and birds.
"If it isn't the bat, what's with the gloomy face?"
Batman gives her a nod. "Cat."
Her eyes roam the group and she tilts her head. "Everyone seems to be here tonight." She comments.
"We're waiting," the man shares. "Our newest decided to be more secretive about his debut."
Catwoman gives him a smug smirk. "So I have heard," a chuckle. "I've come here to introduce you to someone, truthfully."
"Oh? Who is it?" Nightwing perks up, having finally decided to join in.
"Me."
Some yelp, whip their head around and away from the lady in black, gasps and cooing (particularly from steph) fill the roof and Danny joins them.
He wears black combat boots, they're heavy just from the look, but make no sound as he jumps around. The front of the boots look like cat paws, they're reaching up to his knees.
Then comes the baggy black pants, knees protected by poleyn and his belt acting as a cats tail. The hoodie he is wearing is also black, with fingerless gloves (only the middle finger is covered) and reaching up to his neck.
Instead of a domino mask, he wears a hood with cat ears and a dark face mask. Cass claps, knowing fully well he took inspiration from her own get up.
The whole outfit is detailed with orange spots, some parts brown and others grayish.
"Meet my new mentee, Calico."
Danny, Calico, waves.

Phantom home alone
A/N: I blame having read a couple of post of the batkids doing that. And my brain went, let's have Danny do that too! I am sure someone might have thought of that already tho...
Danny clutched the screw driver in his head and looked proudly at what he had build on a short noticed. Sure Tucker had notified him that someone was looking into his person, but he had not thought that whoever that was would come snooping around his home this soon. Espacially when he was supposed to be on a home visit to his parents that he had to cancel last minute for a collage project.
Well, it's too bad for those who are trying to sneak into his home. Danny was the son of a pair of the most inventive and creative inventors of Amity that made laser blasters out of toasters. Additionally he was a half ghost with a large variety of powers as well as someone who had the definition of mischief as daughter/sister.
Besides, he always wanted to get his own chance on doing his own version of home alone. His parents security system just never let him do that. That reminded him, should he see if he can bring to live and convince the hotdogs in his fridge to fight with him?
The Bats and Birds just wanted to make sure that this new kid in Tim's college classes was not as suspicious as he appeared to be. Really, if that kid hadn't off handedly commented about the basic components of fear gas while in Tim's presence he might never have gotten onto their radar.
Of course, as paranoid as they were, they had to scoop out the teens' place when they knew he wasn't around. They did not expect the apartment to fight back. And are those hotdogs wielding forks and knives as weapons?!

Dick *whispering*: “So you’re telling me. Bruce managed to pull fucking superman. *starts to yell* FUCKING SUPERMAN?!?!?”
Cass: “Quiet Grayson.”
Dick: “Sorry- I just- just- SUPERMAN?????”
Bruce *from upstairs*: “Dick?? Whats all this shouting about Superman about?? Are you having another episode?”
Clark, also from upstairs: “Oh didn’t you hear! Superman was in town tonight and teamed up with the.. as you call them… “Bird Boys””
Dick: “IT WAS FUCKING INSANE-“
Tim *whispering to Jason*: “what level of the Grayson freakout scale is this?”
Jason: “Id say probably 5-6. If it gets to 7 we sit him down and shove a blanket on him and put on one of his favorite tv shows. If it gets to 8 we need to knock him out.”
Damian: “I’ll prepare the knock out tea.”
Jason: “Good thinking.”
Clark *walks down the stairs*: Hey kiddos
Dick: *goes silent and starts vibrating*
Tim: Hey Dick y’know they’re playing reruns of-

Later batkids chilling on the couch next to a passed out Dick, with tidying up the kitceb
Bruce: Ah, Malcolm in the Middle. That always calmed him down.

Robin fic snippet
“Kid.” He looked up, vivid, heartbroken anger adulterated by a scrunch between his brows, “You want me to kneecap him?”
“Yes.” Tim drummed his fingers against the wood, shockingly loud, “No. I want”-
“Someone to tell you you’re not crazy.”
Tim said nothing.
“There are no one way bonds,” Elle settled on saying. “Death echoes are not a coincidence. I know nothing about clones and less about aliens, but I do know that what you’re feeling is real, okay?”
Tim swallowed. “When Jason came back, you felt it, right?”
Like a supernova. A sunrise. A falling star, and then just a speck of light, for more than a year, before the Pit’s tide rolled fire back in. Gotham had revived him first, all at once, six feet under and so divorced from humanity it did not understand immediately, the diminished return of life without air.
“I felt it,” Elle said. “Warmth.”
Tim met her gaze. “Sunlight.”
No easy kind of kinship- what Elle would, frankly, wish on exactly no one.
But there was something to be said about the way magic drew people together. Every coincidence in Elle’s entire life- and Gotham itself, the power she’d pulled not calmly spooling away, but sitting up on her ribs in steady weight. Like a cat, purring.
Pleased.
“You have to tell me,” Elle began, settling her fingertips on the edge of the ash tray, lip thick enough it was probably a proper baccarat. In this house, there’d be nothing else. “What the hell not human enough to die, means. Especially if I ever find myself in an alley with this guy.”
“Not a lot of alley’s in Kansas.”
“Do you know,” Elle said, spinning kryptonite between her fingers, “There’s a minor breed of demon that lives only in cornfields. You could summon one with fifty pounds of sugar and half a wish.”
Tim laughed, the sound ravaged. “If you tell me what the hell Jason was thinking, giving you a gun.”
Not a surprise that he’d clocked her- but maybe one that it was questionable.
“I don’t know,” Elle planted her hip against the desk, “Blow big holes in anyone who fucks with you, I assume?”
