okay so i made a new account purely to write this : acotar x olympics au. i keep seeing olympics content and i cannot get it out of my head.

eris x doctor!reader when he gets injured during a game, and his dad is getting mad because he didn’t do as well as he was supposed to. (he’s also his coach).

The blue light of his screen was illuminating his face. The Olympics was the topic of interest all around the world, but today, the talk of the town was the pole vault. James had been scrolling through endless edits of Marlene breaking the record then rushing to kiss her girlfriend. “If I so much as hear one more ‘Where’s the trophy’ from you, James,” Remus grumbled.

“Reeeemuuusssss, when will it be my turn??” James whined, dark curls and piercing gray eyes fleeting through his mind for only a second. He silently wished he had more time with the mystery man before he ran off. Flicking his thumb across his screen, he hoped against hope that the man would appear before him.

“You whining isn’t going to get you anywhere. Apparently Tinder in the Olympic village is thriving. The cardboard beds seem to be holding out,” Remus winked from where he was sitting on the opposite side of the room devouring his own screen. 

“Oh is that what the other physios are talking about?” James asked. 

“Nah they mostly just talk about which of their athletes they would fuck,” Remus mused. 

“And do you partake in that conversation?” James asked, blinking innocently. Remus shook his head but James has known him long enough to know that’s a lie. He gasped, “Shut up! You want to shag one of your athletes!?” Remus’ expression remained neutral as he mimed sealing his lips and throwing away the key.

“Speaking of shagging though, how’s Mr ‘Dive Into Me’? Have you found him yet?” Remus pondered.

James let out a groan. “Obviously not, or he would be here and not you,” James complained. 

“I value our years of friendship wholeheartedly as well, James. You mean the world to me too,” Remus deadpanned.

“You know what I mean,” James says.

“Don’t worry about it mate, we’ll find him” Remus reassured him.

James hoped that he was right.

So the Olympics au came about because is was thinking of yukamitsu and then my brain just gave literally all the casts (p3/4/5) an Olympic sport

And then my love of ryukoto just brought my thoughts to life

Akira - Fencer - Mainly because of Arsene but also because that guy has agility and speed to get the points he needs to win in fencing

Ryuji - athlete - that’s self explanatory! But I’d say he competes in sprints (100/200m and the occasional relay race)

Ann - Taekwondo - LET HER KICK THE SHIT OUT OF PEOPLE - but also quite a disciplined sport in itself I feel like she’d love it

Yusuke - Diver - You can’t tell me that he would not love the intensity and precision needed for the complicated dives (also he might be a good artistic swimmer he’d choreograph though?)

Makoto - BMX Racer - Johanna but also how Makoto would probably love how exhilarating it is and the speed of it

Haru - Hammer Throw - THIS NEEDS POWER! HARU IS FULL OF POWER LIKE DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY WOULD UNDERESTIMATE HER BUT THEN SHE COMES AND ABSOLUTELY LAUNCHES THE WEIGHT RIGHT OUT OF THE PARK

I'm in my Olympics 2024 brainrot rn. I blame Duplantis, EJ Obiena, Carlos Yulo, Sunisa Lee, Simon Biles, and the whole Korean Women's Archery team for this lmao.

My mind (being the weird thing it is) got me thinking of an Olympics Polin AU where Colin is a pole vault athlete on the rise, ranked #5 in the world. He's discouraged because of his past failures: first losing the bronze medal in the previous olympics, then failing to elevate his world ranking.

He and Penelope are best friends (who are in love with each other, of course). She encourages him not to give up, promising that she will attend the next Olympics to support him. Colin, fueled and inspired, made a pact to himself: if he wins a medal, he will confess his feelings to Pen.

Cue Colin at the Olympics, smashing the world record and winning gold. He rushes to the sidelines where Penelope is, confessing his love for her, and declares Pen as his good luck charm. Colin kisses her for all the world to see, and they live a happily ever after.

Was this inspired by the moment Duplantis ran to his girlfriend and kissing her after his world record jump? Yes. Will I ever write it? Fuck it, I'm halfway through the oneshot now 🤠

AU Snippet Ask Game Eclipse Edition: Gen Ed Sweep AU. If possible, I would love to see the other Teachers’s reactions during or post Sweep, but I don’t want to ask for too much.

Loathe as he is to admit it, Nedzu is bored. Simply put, the Sports Festival is understimulating. Its usefulness cannot be overstated, true, but the First Years lack significant training, and by their Third Year, most students have already faced each other so often that the outcome of any given encounter is already a foregone conclusion. This leaves only the Second Year, which remains entertaining largely by virtue of the students being aware of the upcoming license exams and doing their best to advertise themselves.

“Ice in three, two, one—” Nedzu stops to sip his tea exactly as Todoroki’s Quirk freezes over everyone’s legs. “Next comes Bakugou, Kirishima, and Yaoyorozu…”

Nedzu's brow furrows.

The three he predicted to seize the initiative best are nowhere to be seen. No, there’s Yaoyorozu, her vault pole forced aside. Bakugou appears to have been redirected into a wall, and he doesn’t see Kirishima at all.

No, the ones in the lead are…

“What’s this?” Yamada declares. “Some ingenious members of Class 1-C have rocketed to the front of the pack!”

Ingenious is right. All of them are wearing Support Gear in varying quantities. He recognizes those designs as well. Maijima filed the paperwork for their approval in the event. Did they…?

Modern AU careers for the Gaang

Aang: elementary school teacher and stay-at-home dad when his kids are growing up. He makes for a splendid househusband for Katara when he doesn't have the weight of the world on his shoulders. Katara: lawyer who runs a legal clinic and an outspoken activist. She was studying for medicine, but she pulled an Elle Woods when Sokka told her she was too "girly" for Harvard Law. Zuko: kind of specific but he drops out of Wharton to become a firefighter, and I'm undecided on whether it's during his bachelor's or MBA. (He also totally did DECA as a high school student but never got past state level). Sokka: engineer who went to a huge college (MIT or Caltech) when nobody expected him to. He's either a civil engineer or an aeronautical engineer. Toph: blind martial artist is the most obvious one, but I raise you: concert pianist. The former is more in character but the latter just cracks me up because the best pianist I know is blind. Suki: Olympic-level athlete in a solo sport measured on performance. So she'd be into running, pole vault, javelin, something along those lines. I think running is the most likely. Sokka is her biggest fan. Bonus: Mai: goes to the same college as Zuko for cybersecurity/informatics, but drops out at the same time as him. She works a day job as a florist and does freelance work as a white collar hacker. Ty Lee: an actual circus performer in the Cirque du Soleil. All her sisters are either doctors, lawyers, or engineers. Azula: has a high position in whatever business Ozai is running and is poised to be his heir. Post-redemption starts one of the most bougie but affordable bakeries in the world.

'Philosophical question of the day: Brinic Summer Olympics AU, what sport does each do? It has to be a different sport for each and you can list other characters but we mainly talking your boys'

While this was supposed to be about Fast and Furious it quickly shifted to the DC universe. So here we have it (going off vibes, some canon points, and the fact I cannot use an event more than once):

Bruce - Triathlon, he's an over achiever and no other reasons past that

Alfred - shooting, honestly would do handgun and rifle but mainly rifle

Dick - Gymnastics, all of them, no elaboration needed

Jason - Hockey, full contact sport, requires an insane amount of endurance and balance, and you can't tell me Jason doesn't give off Hockey vibes

Tim - Skateboarding, it's something he is actively good at

Damien - Fencing, not only is it a style of swordwork, but it also feels like a sport he would actually appreciate

Stephanie - tennis, she would absolutely wreck a tennis court

Cass - all martial arts, judo, taekwondo, karate the whole 9 yards

Duke - Lacrosse, I just feel like he'd do really well in Lacrosse

Roy Harper - Archery, obviously

Ivy - Equestrian, show jumping specifically

Selena - Also Equestrian but she does Dressage, it's expensive, high profile, and very well dressed

Harley - Pole Vaulting, there was discussion with this but I think Harley would do well in Vaulting

Clark - Table Tennis, he's the right level of nerd for it and I feel like he wouldn't do a strength thing

Kon - Shot Put, he's a show off and we love him

Jon - High Dive, closest to flying that's not high jump or gymnastics

Bart - Relay, he could do singles but Bart cheering with a team after winning first is my whole heart, he'd be the one to cross the finish line

Garfield - soccer, he could also breakdance, but that won't be added until 2028

Vincent - Weightlifting, this is Cyborg we're talking about

Artemis - my only double, Archery

Ash/Eiji/Shorter gets off to an angsty start in this fic, which is nestled into the canon timeline.

4. Dear Boss (A Confession) [Banana Fish]

Ash gets a letter from his lieutenant, Alex, where his subordinate confesses to having feelings for Eiji.

5. Heartache to Heartache [Banana Fish]

In Vietnam, Max Lobo discovers that his best friend Griffin is in love with him. When Griff asks Max to consider it, he does.

BONUS: Just Say Yes [Banana Fish] (work in progress)

(Extreme canon divergence/AU; 5 years after BananaFish) Eiji was never injured and continued pole vaulting all the way to the Olympics, but now he wants to be a photographer in New York and needs a green card. A fake marriage to Ash Lynx seems like a great shortcut.

Dorcas had watched Marlene’s events many times before but none had been quite like this one. The crowd was electric. Everyone was anticipating whether Marls could break the record for the pole vault. Dorcas was buzzing with nerves for her girlfriend. She worked so incredibly hard for this. Dorcas could scream from the anxiety building in her stomach. She was practically shaking.

Marlene looked gorgeous as ever. She carried herself as though she owned the place. She was so confident and Dorcas was so in love. Marlene steadied herself before the run-up. Her lean arms gripped her pole skillfully. She breathed in and took off. Dorcas held her breath, her heart threatening to stop as well. 

All at once the crowd roared. Marlene had made it over perfectly. Dorcas screamed in joy. Marlene wasted not a single second. She leapt off the mat and sprinted straight to Dorcas in the stands as if an invisible magnet was pulling her. Dorcas leant as far over as the railing would let her. Marlene beamed at her before pulling her into a knee-weakening kiss. The crowd’s volume increased tenfold. The feeling of Marlene’s lips against her own were pure bliss. "I did it, baby"

The click of cameras. The shouts of people around them. The announcer’s voice booming through the stadium. Nothing mattered besides the woman in her arms. This was definitely one for the records.

as a culinary major with no particular interest in sports of any kind, you'd never expected to find yourself in the endzone front row at your college's final regular season game. that was, until you met marcus brooks. he was a sweet guy from your pastry techniques course, and surprisingly enough, a star running back for the football team. sure it was apparent in his stature, with wide shoulders and strong arms, but his gentle nature didn't exactly scream football player.

the two of you had been playing this little game since last spring. you'd test things out for your culinary practicals together, go to wine tastings, and try out new local restaurants. he supported you when you had a part in the spring play, so of course you found the time to come to a game or two. so that's how you found yourself here, screaming at the top of your lungs as the clock ticked towards zero, and marcus charged down the field with the ball.

the second marcus crossed the line his eyes searched for your own, finding them and locking you into his gaze. he points at you, a wide grin on his face as he spikes the ball. teammates surround him, clapping his back and seemingly pushing him in your direction.

you lean down over the low wall while butterflies fill your stomach, marcus pulling off his helmet and jogging straight to you. he stands on his toes, reaching up to put a hand on your face. "i'm gonna kiss you!" he shouts over the roar of the crowd. even if you wanted to protest, he couldn't have heard it anyway. his lips crash into yours, his teammates whooping and hollering behind him. you're pretty sure the moment is broadcast on the video board as well, but you don't mind.

the kiss is over as quickly as it started and from there it's an hour before you see marcus again. he walks out of the field house as you're making your way through confused, excited, frantic messages from friend and family who saw you get kissed on live television. "that was one hell of a hard launch," you say, after kissing him once, then twice more.

marcus laughs, and you find yourself admiring his smile. "yeah, well, it was sorta like... a bet with the guys?" he sees your concerned look and quickly continues, "not like that! what i mean is, when i told them you'd be in the stands everyone was all 'man you gotta make your move' 'cause they were tired of hearing me talk about you."

you giggle, resting a hand on his chest while his own drift to your hips, lips brushing your temple sweetly. "would you believe me if i said my sister told me the same thing?"

marcus holds you at arms length with an incredulous smile on his face. "you mean i coulda done that this whole time? man, i'm an idiot."

you're close enough to detect the slight flush on his cheeks, and you can't help but lean up to kiss it. "'s okay, we can make up for lost time."
