I think there would be a major disconnect between the bats and the rest of the JL/super powered folk due to injuries and pain.
Let me explain.
I saw this post and it made me think of the healing factor/invulnerability of most of the JL. Clark is practically impervious, Diana’s worst injury is a paper cut at her day job, and the Green Lanterns have a passive force field, so on and so forth. But Batman bleeds. The only one who’s got any sort of healing factor is Jason, but it’s nothing compared to the flashes.
I can imagine Batman nursing some sort of injury like a broken rib from a punch he took from some super villain of the week, whereas Diana, who took the same punch, just shook it off. Batman isn’t jealous. He’s not bitter or angry. He just notices it. He knows he’s not as unmovable as them. But no one else sees that.
But I think it would really become an issue with his kids. Seeing all of his kids participate in a superhero team at some point, most of which start those teams or lead them at some point, because he trained them harder than anyone else. Because they’re not invulnerable.
And the turning point would be if one of those kids gets hurt. Like if Dick broke a bone or something and needed to have it reset in the field, Batman telling him “Scream if you need to” and it actually happening would really make the supers around them take notice. The bats aren’t invulnerable. But they’re the most dangerous of the JL.
Idk I just thought it would be interesting. I might write something with the concept because I could go on about it.

Amity Park is just like Themiscyra and Atlantis in the sense that it’s own nation. Amity Park has magical borders set up by witches and warlocks hundreds of years ago. (Some of these families were the Constantine and Fenton-Nightingale)
So Danny already knew Diana and Arthur before they joined the Justice League. In fact, he had practically grown up with the two, and had become best friends since the time they could talk. Danny, however, saw no point in the Justice League and refused all offers to join them when asked.
Several years after the League was formed, they needed some help. Diana and Arthur immediately thought of Danny, but agreed with the rest of the League to summon the Ghost King. Diana and Arthur knew that Danny was Ghost King, so they said nothing about knowing the man.
When Danny arrives, he looks around at the heroes and then turn to Diana and Arthur. “I told you I didn’t want to join your merry band of idiots.”

Diana Prince (Wonder Woman) with all the Wayne boys when they were kids
Dick Grayson:
Diana rubbing young Dick Grayson's cheek with her hand: Baby, tiny, precious! You so cute!
Dick Grayson giggles.
Diana: You want a candy?
Dick: Hm, yes! Yes! Please!
Diana: Aww, so precious.
Bruce: He's not supposed to eat a lot of-
Diana with a sweet smile still on her face: I know how break every bone in your body at once.
Bruce, hiding his fear: You know what he's been good today.
Jason Todd:
Diana: Oh, you're so cute and precious! I just want to hug you for hours and hours. I love how tiny you are!
Young Jason just dangles in the woman's hug. He can't breathe, but he's not trying to break free.
Bruce: Okay... you're smothering him. Let him go.
Jason, struggling to breathe: Hold up Batman! I'm not complaining.
Diana: And remember I know how to break your bones.
Bruce: All right then. Young Jason: This is the greatest day ever.
Tim Drake:
Tim Drake clutches to the woman's hip, crying happily. Bruce tries to pull him off, but Tim won't let go.
Tim: This is the greatest day of my hero life! I am so happy to meet you!
Diana, simpering: I am happy to meet you too young warrior!
Bruce: I have to stop bringing them around her- Dick, why are you crying?
Dick Grayson: That used to be me!
Dick cries, resting his head on Bruce's shoulder.
Bruce sighs pinching the bridge of his nose.
Damian Wayne:
Bruce: Okay so Wonder Woman is bit... Obsessed with cute kids. Just be ready.
Damian: Oh father please, I've dealt with way worse.
The doors slide open, Diana is sitting at the justice league meeting table. Once she sees Damian, she gasps.
Damian tenses surprised.
Diana: You got the itty bitty ones again! Come here young warrior!
Damian: Noooo!
Damian runs as Diana chases him.
Diana: Let me give you cheek rubs!
Damian: Get away from me!
Clark Kent walks to Bruce.
Clark: You ever think about not having a kid sidekick?
Bruce: You've got one more time to tell me that and I'm sending kryptonite to your house.

I want more of the JL acting like normal celebrities.
Batman and Chappel Roan working together on a competitive cooking show against teams of Kylie Jenner and Danny Devito, Kanye West and Kesha, Taylor Swift and Superman, etc. They are a surprisingly good team who work together great. They end up winning the whole thing and a bunch of wholesome memes start trending about the two of them adopting you after your awful parents kicked you out. Superman and Taylor Swift are surprisingly a TERRIBLE team. They’re disqualified because they never finished cooking their meals as they were too busy arguing. They are memed to be the parents who kicked you out and desperately need a divorce.
Wonder Woman going on a survivor-like reality show about a bunch of celebrities stuck on an island together and all the contestants are whining about things like “My hair is so frizzy and Chad is SO hot, I don’t want him to see me like this omg” While Diana has already chopped down multiple trees, used the wood to make a cabin for everyone, hunted a wild boar which is currently roasting over a campfire she also made with the leftover sticks and leaves, and cracked the coconuts from the tree. The rest of the show is mostly a normal reality show. The other contestants never have to lift a finger and can peacefully gossip and have drama while being well fed, housed, and hydrated. The only real difference is that every few minute the camera switches to Diana wresting a grizzly bear or catching fish with her bare hands.
The masked singer where there’s a person in a colourful parrot costume singing on stage and everyone has to guess who it is. People have guessed many celebrities like Oliver Queen, Bruce Wayne, or even Lex Luther, but they mostly guessed famous singers because the guy is GOOD and there’s no way he doesn’t sing professionally. He sang songs like “Party in the USA”, “Call Me Maybe” and “Never Gonna Give You Up”. People were going crazy trying to figure out who he is. The time finally comes for the reveal. The man slowly takes off his parrot head and... it’s Batman. The crowd goes wild.
The Flash (Barry) and Green Lantern (Hal) make a podcast and spend the entire time going on long rants about their respective interests. Flash talks about forensic science and chemistry for an hour while GL hums in interest or asks questions every once in a while. After that GL rambles about airplanes and engineering for another hour while Flash enthusiastically nods and adds in related stories every so often. Twitter diagnoses them with autism.
Captain Marvel has a TikTok account where he posts himself trying suggestions from his fans. Some of his most popular videos include him juggling a bunch of chainsaws (perfectly, btw), pranking JL members, bedazzling Mr Minds prison jar with fake crystals and speech bubble stickers that make it look like Mr Mind is saying things like “I’m DUMB”, and his most popular by far, citing The Santa Clause rules to Black Adam and convincing him that since he killed his father technically that makes him his new dad (the horror stopped Black Adam in place mid battle, giving Marvel the perfect opportunity to punch him in the face. The punch has been slo-mo’d and memed to oblivion). His Batman mandated PR team has been begging him to stop for months but in response he posts himself TikTok dancing (terribly) in front of a green screen in the background showing an image of the emails while asking for more suggestions.
If anyone has any ideas like this or fics to recommend plz tell me In the comments, I love the Justice League just casually being celebrities.

If I was Wonder Woman I’d tell no one about the Invisible Jet, fake like I’m flying myself while inside it, so when another flying person tries to attack me by tackling or physically hitting me, they run straight into the side of the Jet first.

Billy would definitely be talking mad shit about (almost) all gods to JL. Wherever it is ancient, old, or new drama, and by now picking up habits from those gods and being opinionated himself about the whole situations to mainly Aquaman's -bc poseidon- and Wonder Woman's -bc most female gods- dismay.
The whole thing would've gone to a head when Marvel again says shit about poseidon for almost sinking all of Japan again -honestly Japan's natural disasters are crazy common, like did some old Japanese emperor piss on the tridon he found bc he thought it would've been funny or something?- and Aguaman snaps at Marvel about why he never says shit about for example Zeus bc he probably deserves most shit-talking from a human. Marvel wheeze laughs like, "Dude, he's sponsoring me. The one time I talked shit about him, I had to sacrifice a chicken and two goats for him to give me my powers back. Do you know how expensive those get?"
So anyway, Superman would've gotten salty that he got mind controlled by a space catapillar during that time because Marvel couldn't keep his opinions to himself.

< PREVIOUS PART
"Diana, you have exhausted valuable resources and the skills of our healers for one woman. To what end? She will die anyway. Maybe not today or tomorrow. Maybe not a year from now or ten but she will die. You're just delaying the inevitable."
Diana had few moments in her life where she could truthfully say she was angry with her mother. But in that moment she almost hated her. The Amazons were supposed to be messengers of peace and truth and justice. What happened to her mother while she was away? What happened to the fearsome woman who raised and taught her to stand for what was right? This wasn't the first time they'd had this argument and as your life hung in the balance, Diana doubted it would be the last.
You hadn't uttered more than a few sentences since arriving on the sandy shores of Themyscira and that was two weeks ago. You'd been in and out of consciousness every since. Never awake longer than a second or two and no one could tell Diana why. The healers had done all they could. The rest was up to you.
Diana gritted her teeth and rose from your bedside. "You and I are not having this conversation again, mama. Y/N is staying here until she wakes up. The healers will attend her for as long as she requires their attention and that is final. You gave me your word and you will stand by it."
"Perhaps I gave it too hastily."
Fire and hatred burned in Diana's eyes but the Queen of the Amazons did not--would not--falter. "I know you've formed something of an…attachment…to this girl--"
Diana laughed, tearfully. Attachment. What a paltry word to describe what she felt for you. This all-consuming yearning and devotion that kept her up nights and drove her to kneel at your bedside for hours with no regard to her own hunger and comfort. "Attachment," Diana repeated, laughing again.
"She is not like us, my daughter" the queen continued. "She is not like you--"
"She doesn't have to be! I don't need her to be like me. I don't need her to do anything but live, mama!"
"I do not mean to be cruel but if this is what her ailing has done to you…I don't want to know what would become of you if she perished."
Diana for the first time since coming home was inclined to agree with her mother. She opened her mouth to speak, some of her earlier anger dissipating, when a sharp breath stole away her words.
Diana whirled.
You rubbed sleep from your eyes, wincing as you struggled to get comfortable in the narrow cot on which you lay.
Diana stumbled to your bedside and fell to her knees.
You gave her a weak smile, bleary-eyed smile. Your hair was a bird's nest atop your head and yet to Diana, you'd never looked more beautiful.
Tumblr media
You hit the ground hard not for the first time today.
"Dammit," you hissed.
Diana leaned into your line of sight with an apologetic smile. "Are you alright?"
"No I'm not alright!" you snapped. "A toddler could have blocked that kick and I just…I just," you screwed your eyes shut and breathed through the pain, the embarrassment, and frustration. "I'm not the same, D. My body…it's not the same."
She dropped to her knees and gently straddled your waist. Taking your face in her hands, she kissed your lids again and again until you opened them. "It's only been a week, my love. It could take months even years to remind your body of what your mind never forgot. Give it time."
It had been four months since you woke up in Themyscira's infirmary. Four long grueling months spent trying to remember how to walk and care for yourself. Fighting off pain and infection with strange herbs and medicinal techniques you'd never heard of and you were tired. So, so tired of being weak and fragile on an island surrounded by women who were the very definition of everything you used to be.
"But I don't want it to take months or years!" tears of frustration filled your eyes.
"I'm afraid you don't have much of a choice." Diana carefully rolled off of you and into the grass.
"Someone did this to me, Diana. I could have died."
"I know… And when you are well my love, we will find them and you will have your justice. But whether you like it or not it will take time. And if you will have me, I will be here with you. For every step of the way. And every step after that."

This popped into my brain and wouldnt leave so I wanted to share it with yall
A young boy and his parents are attacked on the street, only the boy makes it out.
It's a rare occurrence, an event like this, the police find the man and arrest him and everyone else is safe.
Bruce Wayne goes home to a mansion that feels larger and lonelier than ever, with only his butler to take care of him.
And yet the young boy finds himself too afraid to leave for more than necessities.
The young boy grows into a young man, he inherits his parents business and starts to leave his house a little more, unwilling to lose this connection to his lost parents but still he finds himself afraid, afraid to be around people, to be seen.
Until one day at a gala he must attend for the sake of the shareholders, he sees a man, a reporter, who holds himself in an odd way, clearly a tall and strong man who could be intimidating if he tried but the man held himself as if to appear smaller and unassuming, Bruce's brain flitters across the idea that the man is hiding something, or more hiding himself.
His brain that has soaked up comics and movies for years so as to not grow bored in his home.
And when he learns of all the good this reporter has been trying to do, he thinks the man would make a good superhero.
When he goes home the thought wont leave him alone, he thinks of a world with a hero, a world that needs a hero, one where his parents murder would have just been one of many, but this hero wouldn't have been there to help, he was too bright, a hero for the daytime, not for the shadows of night.
He thinks maybe he could have been a hero in this world, one that saves other kids from suffering a fate like his own.
One who is afraid and fights anyway.
The next time he leaves his home there's an event at a museum, with some special objects that are in town for a few days. There he sees a woman who knows so much about ancient relics and is so beautiful that he doesn't believe she could be just a normal human.
He thinks she would share her knowledge and kindness with the world given the chance.
While he remains mostly alone, other than his Parental figure/Butler, he also keeps in contact with two friends from when he was in school.
One is now a psychiatrist, with an interest in learning about fear and how it can change people, and the other a psychologist, both working at the city's asylum.
Harleen is who Bruce considers his best friend, a goofy but kind girl who cares alot about others, she tells him about a patient, without going into much detail, who she claims would be cute if he wasn't so insane. Smiling and laughing while he talks about harming others.
She got a boyfriend somewhere along the way, a man Bruce is sure abuses her but she can't seem to leave.
The three get in a fight one day, and lose contact, and Bruce supposes you can't have heroes without villains, though he can't bring himself to think of Harley as a villain by her own choice.
On the news Bruce learns of a man working to better science as they know it, a man who always seems to be a few minutes too late, he follows the story until the day something goes wrong and the man is there on time to shield workers from flying chemicals, killing him but saving others, Bruce thinks the man a hero in death, and could have been one in life, one who always made it to where he was needed just on time.
As time went on Bruce tried to get out more in normal ways, one night he went to the circus, he enjoyed it, reminding him of the day when he was little and his parents brought him to one just like it.
It was a few days later that he learned at the next show there was an accident, and a little boy lost his parents, he remembered being small and feeling alone when he had lost his, thankful for the man who cared for him he wished he could do the same for this little boy, but knew he didn't have the skills needed.
He could, however, make sure the boy got somewhere safe, and other kids like him too.
So he held a fundraiser and donated a lot of money into the foster system, doing what he could to make it safe.
And he thought of a world where he could have taken the little circus boy into his home, making it brighter and less lonely.
As he ventured out more and more Bruce travelled through different parts of the city, he saw a group of little children cowering behind one bigger who had just chased off a grown man, Bruce smiled as the kids cheered for the little hero.
It was the news that later told him the boy was dead, a homeless kid who stopped being seen, the little hero was gone.
Bruce held another fundraiser, this one for the homeless shelters and kitchens.
It was the news that told him the boy was not dead, found by the police, with other stolen children.
Children that returned to a better place.
The day he lost his last parent is the day where he began to feel truly alone, the only person there for him gone, but Alfred would live forever in his memory's as the man who loved and cared for him.
He reached out to Harly again not wanting to be all alone, and they made up, he learned she had gotten free of her abusive boyfriend and had fallen for a woman who's love of nature was refreshing and new.
He knew little about his neighbours, but he tried to get to know them better, he struggled but eventually learned that the woman that lived there was very sick and that the man was not home much, when he learned of the child who spent so much of his time alone, he thought the kid was brave and told him if he ever needed anything to just ask.
The kid needed someone the day when his mother didn't wake up and his father wasn't home. Bruce did what he could, he was no father but he cared for the kid the best he could until his was able to return.
Bruce knew it was expected of him to have a family, someone to give his things and his business when he passed. He tried dating, but nothing ever seemed to work out.
However one day he learned of a child, a son, one the mother hadn't told him about, he tried to gain any sort of parental rights but couldn't get any custody, only visitation, he met the boy, a quiet but fiercely determined child, And he loved his son even without seeing him much.
When the quiet, hermit, billionaire Bruce Wayne, best known for appearing, donating large amounts of money to random causes and then disappearing again, passed away his belongings and company were to be split between two people, Timothy Drake, and Damian al Ghul, when the two met up to split his things, they found writings the man had never told anyone of.
Writings of a world where regular people became heroes, where aliens walked amongst humans, and where magic made lives exciting.
They agreed to publish the story's for the world to see.
To most people, the writings were just an entertaining fiction story that a billionaire wrote with his unlimited free time.
But to the retired reporter who knew his height frightened others, who now rested and found the stories learned that someone had seen how he stood, and what he had done and thought of him as a hero,
To the artefact collector and preserver who learned this man believed she was so knowledgeable about what she had strived to learn everything about, as well as beautiful, that he thought her to be blessed by the gods,
To the old psychologist who mourns her friend, a man who thought that no matter what she went through she'd always make the right choice in the end,
To the family of a man who lost his life saving others, who this guy they had never met thought so highly of,
To the man that lost his only family to an accident at their circus, he was a man who wanted him get a good home, where'd he'd get anything he ever wanted,
To a man that went through so much, believed dead for so long to learn this man who he had only seen once, saw him not as a poor homeless kid but as a fighter and protector,
To the boy that new the man for a short time, as a temporary guardian and protector, who made him feel safe and not alone when he needed it most,
And To the boy who wished he could have known his father, but was kept away by his mother,
The storys showed to them all that this man, who some thought of as cold and egotistical, as he locked himself away and refused to be around others, was actually an anxious, lonely man, who saw what others didn't and cared about everyone in his own odd way.
I just thought it was a cool idea I wanted to share with yall, so I hope you guys like it
This is my first post on here, so please be nice,
Also, ignore any spelling or grammar mistakes Dyslexia goes brrr
If you want to know what I think he based the other heroes and character off of, just ask, and I'll figure it out!
Thanks for reading, and have a good day!
Edit:

I genuinely didn't realize how sad this was, lol. Sorry, not sorry, guys

Sneaking around New Themyscira is a feat you didn’t think you’d ever experience but, lo and behold, here you were.
The island was beautiful in a way that reminded you of what used to be. It’s battle torn, but the skies are still bright blue and the air’s still unnaturally fresh and fizzling with magic.
Even if it’s not the same as you're sure it’d be on the original “Paradise Island”, the residual effect of the Amazon’s whimsy sticks to the place like it was fated to be. Like their magic lays as much claim over this part of what used to be Europe as they do.
It’s a drastic contrast to the wreckage all around you all.
“Alright crew, we meet back at the ship by dusk. This is an evidence gathering retreat and extraction mission so stay out of sight and do not engage.” Steve’s command stays quiet through coms even as he shifts to giving out individual instructions next. His voice a steady balm that you lock onto to distract you enough you don’t have to keep biting back your grin.
─────
It’s hours before anything worthwhile than ducking and hiding takes place.
Initially Steve’s group was primarily tasked with direct extraction of Lois Lane from behind enemy lines but you had run into her, and a small number of other survivors hiding in the nature reclaimed remains of what used to be London, first.
Your branch-off specifically is just meant to be gathering enough tangible evidence that the Amazon’s are taking human hostages to finally push the last remaining world leader to actually let Steve’s task force move in to save them.
Years ago you’d thought politics was hard to navigate. Now it was a literal minefield, one wrong move and someone would take off your head.
You’re hoping at the very least your wrong move doesn’t happen here.
The Amazons were brutal. What little clear footage that still remained showed their killing prowess off well. They didn’t level cities the way the Atlanteans did, but at the beginning of all this they’d conquered their way across the Mediterranean in less than a week and no one had even noticed.
The Atlanteans were too loud, even put up against the Amazons brutality and true disdain for humanity. Especially men. Atlantis had taken over the European Coast with brute force and luck that their extremely obvious assault couldn’t be stopped by any human forces.
If the human world had been anywhere near as technologically advanced and superhuman you’re sure that Atlantis would’ve fallen that day. King Arthur had put all of his forces, after the Amazon’s had near silently ran them off, into conquering Europe’s waters but he’d made a gamble in doing so.
The Amazon’s didn’t gamble.
Call it years of godly military practice coming into play or whatever but the Amazon’s were a strategic power house. They blew through everything they wanted to as if it was parchment paper in a way that the Atlanteans and their ‘throw everything at it until it sticks’ strategy could never.
The Queen didn’t take whatever she wanted, the rumored start of the war in the first place, because she was careless.
“Pilgrim to Mayflower, we’ve been caught in an ambush—”
Your radio crackles to life on your hip. You turn to your team leader but she only shakes her head. She gestures for you all to get closer together. She’s following protocol, if you have to leave team ‘Pilgrim’ behind you have to wait in silence five minutes before doing so, but if you get a response in that period you have to call in for backup.
Beside you Lois’s quiet as she stares at the radio in Boston’s hand, lip between her teeth.
The following crackle three and a half minutes in makes you all jump.
“—it’s The Queen. The Queen’s with them!”
This time it’s not Steve’s voice but a woman from his group. The air rushes from your lungs.
Queen Diana of Themyscira wasn’t careless.
Something presses down on the receiver and the sounds of screaming and gunfire reach your ears. Right behind it cheers of triumph follow.
All distinctly feminine sounding.
The Queen took what she wanted without hesitation because she was self assured in her prowess.
“Dammit to hell,” Boston curses.
Your heart feels tight all of a sudden.
The Queen.
The same one who started a whole world war because she didn’t bow down to such pitiful quirks as apologizing. The Queen who allegedly wore the crown of the woman she killed as a trophy.
When that exact crown, Atlantean in nature, crests over a row of rubble from toppled buildings towards you the sight of that golden headrest becomes an omen.
The Amazon’s are ruthless when they reach you. There’s barely a triumphant yell afterwards the fight was so close to already won once it started. In fact it’d probably be an insult to the Goddess Artemis herself to call it a fight at all.
A mild squabble maybe.
Like a kitten might give a gangly boy throwing her into a box to slowly meet its death. Or the inevitable but hopeless life of a fly when around a flytrap.
The Amazon’s had gained on you too fast for women who were supposed to be on the other side of the island right now.
As you’re thrown into the middle of a circle of stern-faced Amazon’s with your team, knocking right into Steve and his remaining crew, you start to feel a lot like a fly trapped because of its need to further inspect a predator so unequivocally greater than itself.
Your eyes prickle and your breath squeezes past your throat, but as you watch the towering few women around you your heart thuds not with fear but revelation.
In person the Amazon’s were every bit as terrifying as the stories and mission reports made them out to be, then some. Their armor was chinked and dusted with the brutal effects of war and yet they still seemed to glow brighter than the overcast sun as they set their ire upon you.
It was a lesson in skill to be present for the way they fought up close. Every strike and simple step was so clearly packed full with power and yet they moved as one graceful unit, where one woman leaned right two more would work to balance back out the open circle till closed again like feathers in the wind.
They were seamless even as they taunted Steve, held in The Queen’s lasso as he was. The center of everyone’s attention.
Something shamefully akin to envy prods at you incessantly. You do your best to ignore it.
Your fists clench and unclench at your side as you watch the warriors playing with their food. Lois looks like she can’t decide whether to throw up or throw something. For the sake of all your lives you pray she only vomits.
“You’re all Americans,” Queen Diana points out before tightening her hold on the lasso. Steve is forced to rise up on his knees at the movement, hands going to his throat in a fruitless effort to pry off the rope choking him. “But you’re going to tell me a little more about yourself. Who are you and what is your group’s goal?”
For a few seconds you all watch as Steve just…doesn’t answer. Your eyes narrow. Maybe the rumors about The Queen’s lasso were actually just rumors this time around, you’re pretty sure a gift from the gods isn’t supposed to have user defects.
The other Amazon’s seem to think the same thing as five of them huddle closer to their leader and soft murmurs travel around you from the ones that remain vigil.
“He’s resisting the lasso of truth! How is that possible Queen Diana?”
The Queen looks offended, jaw tightening.
“It’s not,” she says before wrapping more of the lasso around her hand and pulling Steve up so they’re face to face, his toes dragging in the dirt. “Who are you and what are you and your people doing in New Themyscira?”
You all gasp. Off to the side Boston starts to struggle, cursing up a storm as Steve truly goes red in the face. You can’t not watch her a bit impassioned, you know what’ll happen next. One Amazon, red haired and incredibly angry looking, kicks her in the face so hard that by the time her body falls to the dirt you can all tell she’s dead. Face crunched to all hell as her lifeless body faces you.
You shiver and look away.
“This is an outrage,” Lois murmurs.
You don’t argue in any direction with her, just turn back to The Queen.
“Thank you for shutting her up, Artemis. Now back to you, I believe I asked you a question.”
Steve can barely put up a token protest, still actively choking, before he starts to spill everything.
“My name is Colonel Steve Trevor of the United States Special Forces. Me and my team, the second of which was headed by the woman you just killed, Colonel Boston Knight, were tasked with gathering information about your base and with the retrieval of Lois Lane.”
The Queen’s brows furrow, “Who is this Lois Lane?”
You close your eyes. You can feel the very woman stiffen where she’s crouched next to you. Your next breath in feels too much like a hiccup.
“Lois Lane is a Politzer prize winning journalist who has been embedded in New Themyscira to gather intel on your Amazons for Cyborg. She’s…she’s also one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever met.”
Steve struggles, doing his best to clamp down on his jaw before some invisible force pries it back open and one of his trembling hands flick out to point. “And she’s over there.”
All eyes seem to shift to the woman no less than a foot away from you.
The Queen looks over at her with a haughty air as she takes in the new information.
“‘Most beautiful’ until me, that is,” she states while lowering him.
You're mesmerized as the glow of the lasso fades while she dismisses you all once again. The Queen’s attention quickly shifts to a blonde Amazon who nods and begins speaking immediately.
“Our information was correct, then, My Queen. Cyborg is amassing the outside world’s superhumans in an attempt to interfere in our war.”
“And he will fail,” her voice echoes across their foggy battlefield with surety. Wonder Woman scowls. “Now seize the Lane woman and take her back to our sanctum.”
“Yes, My Queen,” the blonde speaks up again as all the others quickly nod their assent.
Lois puts up a huge struggle, kicking out at a woman and briefly causing her to stumble before three more are on her. It takes a couple seconds before she stops, limbs twisted every which way as she’s held before the Queen’s unforgiving gaze.
She looks distinctly unimpressed as she and Lois stare down one another. The reporter definitely lived up to her reputation at least. Unfortunately so did Queen Diana.
“Go. I will deal with her later.”
They take Lois away and all you can do is watch.
The Queen glances over all of you again as the blonde waves the women off and then turns to Queen Diana with a wave in Steve’s direction.
“May I deal with this prisoner for you?”
She takes barely a second to decide.
“No, Persephone. The Queen of the Amazons is a servant to her people,” she rises then, taking Steve up with her and letting him dangle from the ropes. His gagging makes you curl in on yourself, “nothing is beneath her,” Queen Diana finishes as Steve takes his final struggling breaths.
The blood vessels on his face pop at the relentless pressure put on them as The Queen stares on impassively. The remaining Amazons cheer and the woman seems to bask in their praise.
“You must remember that this is a win for all of us!” Her exclamation is met with more cheers as she dangles Steve’s lifeless body through the air like a marionette.
“May the gods continue to look down favorably upon the daughters of Themyscira!” That cheer, from a dark skinned Amazon with snowy white hair, gets even Queen Diana calling out in excitement.
Their voices thunder around you all and in all your years both as black and as a woman you have never been made to feel so small as you do till now.
Like this, however, that feeling of absolute insignificance was damningly heady.
In the very next moment The Queen’s sharp gaze seems to snap to you and the skant air you’ve managed to gain seems to flee from your lungs in terror.
“Exactly sisters! And for that the fates of the spoils of our hunt today shall be decided by you!” She bows in mid air. “A gift from your ever faithful Queen.”
Seems the celebration won’t be stopping anytime soon then. You glance around at your teammates and see matching fear welling in their eyes.
Some of the people the Amazons choose are killed instantly and with gusto, others tossed between two of them like nothing as they’re tortured, some are even dragged away for who knows what, but you?
You’re left untouched.
Shaking you watch as everyone is picked off one by one around you and how in the rush The Queen's gaze still manages to stay locked on your form.
You’re watching her back with wide, nearly star struck eyes when she finally starts towards you. Your blood goes cold as she descends, carelessly dropping Steve in the process, before that damned lasso gets thrown around your body.
“Now you see that is a face of admiration!” She hoists you up into the air and your stomach drops. “Now tell me your truth, little human.”
“You’re…ethereal,” comes tumbling past your lips before you can hope to stop it.
The woman looks back at you in mild surprise before her laughter fills your ears.
“Of course I am.” She shifts you in her grip while motioning for the Amazons to move, hovering with you above them as they march back to their sanctuary.
You wonder if its location was one of the things Lois was going to share with you.
You were willing to bet it was too late to find out now.
─────
When you get back to the Queen’s new castle you feel like where they were hiding when they weren’t fighting should’ve been pretty obvious.
It was literally the former royal palace.
You walk in and can tell instantly that while some form of a fight must have occurred within the walls, the palace itself looked in otherwise perfect shape.
While most of the other Amazons that came with you disperse, some stay to debrief the Queen as she takes you along to the throne room.
At the entrance you’re met with a set of Amazons. Swiftly, they bow to their leader before opening the doors for her.
As you get a look inside your brows raise.
The throne that sits at the end of the velvet walkway is singular, first of all, and a lot bigger and more ornate than anything the British could’ve ever scrounged up. It makes even you impressed.
Queen Diana sits in it with all the air of a woman who knows without a moment of uncertainty that little can harm her.
In the following seconds she moves you to join her too, and you flush hard enough for a slight red hue to tint the deep brown of your cheeks.
The binding along your arms and midsection is so strong that you don’t even bother attempting to wiggle loose as you’re made to sit on the Amazon’s lap.
She’s completely self assured as she discusses her next steps with her council, and it makes you feel hopeless the way they blow off the US’s push back efforts as nothing. Easily solvable.
And all while you’re sitting on her lap like a trophy.
Eventually she dismisses everyone but the guards at the door and you're as alone as you’ll get.
You swallow thickly, glancing up at her through your lashes.
It’s a last ditch attempt but you try it anyway.
“If you kill me it’ll be all the US needs to join the war and deploy their forces.”
She looks down at you with a subtle raise of a brow.
“It’s adorable that you think you can scare me,” The Queen says. “Your government is so pathetic they jump at their own shadow. What threat could they ever possibly be to me when they can barely handle the problems within their own borders?”
She laughs, a boisterous sound that you feel just as much as you hear, and you’re unintentionally shaken in her hold. You knew it was a long shot but damn. She didn’t just shoot your idea down, she busted a fucking gut at it. You pout.
Yeah, you were screwed.
The Queen looked fucking unreal when she laughed though; you were a little winded.
NOTES: Hope you enjoyed!!! I love dark!WW, and she was too good looking in the Flash Point animation style; fourteen year old me literally couldn’t handle it.
Also— boy, has this one been in the works for a hot ass minute, but at least now it’s finally out.
In general, though, I’m trying to get out fics with more of The Trinity as a focus that aren’t just Batman fics. So yeah.
btw: if you’d like to leave a comment I’d very much appreciate it!

Lasso of Tickle Truth
Summary: You are Wonder Woman's most evenly matched enemy, but she has a combination of ways to win.
Note: This was just an idea swirling in my head, and I apologize if some of the details about her aren't portrayed that well! Thank you for your patience!
Word Count: 1133
-----------------------------------------------------
You stumbled into a run-down shed, desperate for any hiding place. You were finally out of view from an ongoing chase with your arch nemesis: Wonder Woman. You two were in constant battles, trying to defeat the other once and for all. Your current heist was to steal a sacred document that was too important to lose. You were successful in this task, but were too late in escaping before being seen. This is how you were in the position you were in now.
You breathed heavily, fleeing by car and then foot. It was dark in the shed, a place that probably hadn’t been visited in decades. A wood chip fell off the ceiling, startling you. You silently cursed, knowing that you needed all the help you needed. Having things fall apart only meant more noise to be made and a higher chance of you being found.
You heard footsteps outside, getting closer by the minute. You held your breath, hoping it was any random bystander. Anyone but her.
“Sorry I’m late,” you heard, just outside of the shed. You scooted in as far as you could, trying to disappear in the darkness.
“Not gonna speak?” Wonder Woman asked.
Your eyes widened when you saw a golden glow appear outside of the shed. If she used her lasso of truth on you, you knew you were done for. She would find out where you hid the document. All of that planning to escape would be wasted.
There was a moment of silence, and you were unsure of what you should do next. You were too scared of what her next move would be.
After a moment, the flimsy door to the shed flew open, revealing the superhero and her lasso in front of you. You backed up against the wall, knowing that you were stuck. You felt around in the darkness for a secret back door. Your hand felt the shape of a knob and quickly turned it to open the door. You pushed it open and sprinted out, not getting very far before her lasso was roped around your torso.
You fell to the ground, struggling to get out, as she quickly caught up, pinning you to the ground.
“Well well well, what do we have here?” Wonder Woman asked, raising an eyebrow. With the lasso of truth around you. Luckily for you, your power was a strong ability to fight against this.
“N-noth-ing,” you struggled to say.
“I know you stole the sacred document. You’re not going to fool me,” she said, smirking down at you.
You turned your head away, refusing to fall for her trap.
“I can fight your silly lasso you know,” you spat back at her while glowering.
Her eyes narrowed slightly, and it felt as if you were two siblings fighting rather than two arch enemies.
“Maybe I’ll need something a little more powerful then hmm?” Wonder Woman suggested. With the lasso still around your torso and arms, she began to tickle your sides.
“NOHOHO NOHOT THAHAHAT,” you shouted, knowing that this is one thing you could never defend against. Especially when you were stuck in her lasso.
“What’s this? The big bad schemer is ticklish? Who would’ve thought this was how you were gonna lose…” she commented with a grin.
“AHAHAHAHA IHIHI WOHOHONT LOHOHOSE,” you squealed, as her fingers moved up to scratch away in and around your ribs.
“You may be able to fight the lasso pretty well, but combining it with tickling will make you spill for sure,” she said, now taking her finger and wiggling it in your belly button.
You shrieked, bucking so hard that you were able to flip onto your side, desperately trying to protect your sensitive giggle button.
“Awww does that tickle? Is that what this button does? It makes you laugh?” She asked, repeatedly poking into it, causing you to scream for her to stop.
“Tell me.” She demanded.
You were weakened by the tickles, and the lasso of truth was getting more and more difficult to fight against.
“N-never!” You barely said, as she flipped you back to your original position, face up.
“We’ll see about that. You know the thing is, I have intel on all of my enemies. I happen to know a little someone has very ticklish feet,” she said with a wicked grin and sat on your shins.
“NO! DONT YOU DAHAHAHARE,” you laughed while screaming and thrashing around. You desperately tried to take the lasso off, but Wonder Woman was quick, turning around and squeezing your hips, making you collapse again with a squeal.
With that, she continued to rake her nails over your sensitive soles, holding your toes back and tickling underneath.
“OHOHOKAY IHIHI GIHIHIVE,” you shouted, as she slowed her evil fingers.
“Speak now or forever hold your peace,” she said with a wink. You squirmed uncomfortably, before blurting out the location when she gave your knee a squeeze.
“IHIHIN THE HEHEADQUARTERS,” you squealed out.
“Thanks for the confirmation,” she said with a smirk.
“What do you mean?!?” You asked.
“Oh I figured, but at the same time it’s always fun to pick you apart,” she replied, as you flopped backwards with an eye roll.
“It is so funny though that you’re so weak to tickles,” she commented, gently flipping you over and tickling your back and neck while you were still in her lasso.
“NOHOHOOHO PLEHEHEHEASE IHIHIVE HAHAHAD ENOHOUGH,” you squealed, turning bright red.
“It’s fun messing with someone who’s supposed to be equally matched with me,” she said, now letting you out of her lasso. You quickly tried to yank it, wanting to expose her secrets. However, it backfired as she gave it a much stronger yank, as she captured you and tickled up and down your sides. You entered yet again another fit of laughter, smacking her to tap out. You cursed yourself for this evil weakness. But being human, you knew she had to be ticklish as well.
“Oh big bad Wonder Woman~are you ticklish?” You asked, before tackling her and pinning her arms above her head.
“I’m not even touching you yet,” you teased, as she was already giggling like crazy. With that, you used your free hand to tickle her armpits, letting her experience the torture you just went through. You blew a big raspberry on her stomach while tickling her sides, which got a great reaction.
You finally let her up, knowing how bad it was.
“Maybe we have more in common than we thought. Shall we team up?” Wonder Woman asked jokingly.
“Yeah we should just go and use tickling as our new power,” you joked in reply.
“Oh I know you’d love to stay the villain though,” she teased, as you avoided eye contact and blushed.
“Knew it.”

WIP Ask Game: Learning to Live
The world knows Captain Marvel as a goofy and cheerful man who is always willing to help. No problem is too small for him and he will help an old lady cross the street with the same enthusiasm as he has taking down giant robots to save the city. The world knows him to always act like he only lives to help the people of Earth. The Justice League knows that its not an act.
After a misunderstanding, the JL think that Captain Marvel is a being who was created for the sole purpose of protecting others and that he has never taken time for himself. No family, no hobbies, no personal life at all. Its a sad existance to live only for others and believe you only have value if you earn it.
They make it their mission to teach Marvel that he doesnt need to 'earn' happiness and that hes allowed to take time to himself and stop saving the world for a few moments to experience it instead.
Marvel is less than thrilled.
From Billy's perspective, he went from happily ignoring all his problems by using every free moment he has to play hero... To being forced to hang out with the Justice League every week with activities that are strangely him-centric.
Billy desperately tries to avoid all attempts at getting to know him, while the JL desperately try to get him to open up and relax for the first time in his life.
hijinks ensue, obviously.
This fic is my current focus! The first four chapters are already posted but it was my first fic in over eleven years so it kind of sucks in my opinion. However, the people really liked it and I think they deserve something better! I'm much more confident in my writing skills now so I've been working on rewriting it for the past few months. I just started writing chapter seven and I'm planning on twelve chapters total but that number may change.
For the people who are waiting so patiently for it, here is a drawing of a scene from chapter 5 as a thanks for enjoying it!

A dcxdp fic that borrows from classic ghost stories and urban legends. The Justice League Responds to a disaster that appears to have emptied a town of it's residents. Or has it? A story out of order.
Notes:
You ever have a moment where you're like "Girlie write the story you wish to see in the world" ? This, this is that story. If you have any suggestions of ghosts stories or urban legends I won't guarantee I'll use them but I'd love to hear them.
""
So um... I'm writing a fan fic. Yay! Please enjoy

Part 4: In These Arms of Mine
You woke up to the softest sheets and the most beautiful view out your window. In the distance you could hear the rhythmic lap of the water as waves washed over the beach. Never had you awoken to such serene sights and sounds. Yet, you still felt anxiety rise in your chest as you stared at all of the unfamiliarity around you.
Your breathing quickened and your heart rate sped up. The early morning stupor of having a full night’s sleep not yet leaving your mind. Your confusion was quickly turning to panic, but then you felt her.
She shifted next to you and for the first time since waking you realized you weren’t alone in the bed. You turned slowly and cautiously to look at her and she looked back at you with a sleepy smile. “You’re safe, little dove,” her voice was raspy as she spoke but immediately she knew what your reaction was. You nodded hesitantly, having heated her voice helped ground you. It’s been a few days since you came here and still you weren’t used to this new place, but soon, you kept promising her. Soon, you’d stop waking up like this. After all, you felt guilty each time you woke her up.
Of course, each time you promised her that soon you wouldn’t wake up the same way, she would say something caring and considerate. “It takes time to heal,” she’d reassure. “You don’t have to hide your fears from me.” She’d sometimes say. Any time you showed your fears, your vulnerability, you were met with the utmost care and concern from Diana. She always knew just what to say to ease all your insecurities.
It’s been a few months now. After you had healed from the kidnapping, you two had spent some time discussing next moves. You insisted that no matter where you went, they’d find you. It always happened like that. Diana came up with a whole new idea. How could they find you in a place where very few people knew existed? So that’s how you found yourself here. In the most breathtaking place you’ve ever been. Themyscira was like nothing you could even imagine in your wildest dreams. The air was fresher, the water more clear. It was untouched by the world you once knew.
At first, you felt incredibly guilty to pull Diana away from her life that she had established, but she reassured you it was getting close to time for her to move on. She didn’t grow old and she was pushing it with the age she did give to the people around her. She too was trying to hide after all, but not for the same reasons. So when she came up with this idea she tried to make it seem like it was no big deal, but still you wondered if it made her sad. You knew from the time you spent working with her, that she loved what she did. But then you saw her arrive on the island and that guilt started to wash away. The way she smiled and how her eyes twinkled as she took in her home made her look even more beautiful to you. You watched in awe as she shrugged off the persona she made as Diana Prince and became Diana, daughter of Hippolyta. She was more free here and it showed.
You were still nervous here, however. It wasn’t as bad, surely they can’t find you here. At least that’s what you told yourself. Diana and you had both decided to hide out here for a while. You knew she still loved the outside world, despite how comfortable she was in Themyscira. Plus, you both knew the world outside of this island still needed their hero. So, you compromised. Both of you decided to lay low here, but only temporarily. Both of you needed to regroup and recuperate, not just physically but emotionally too. What shook both of you, even if Diana wouldn’t admit it herself, was that these people who were after you were strong. Maybe not quite physically strong as either of you, but they had strength in number and you had a gut feeling there was a great number of them.
When you got to Themyscira, to your surprise, you were welcomed onto the island with open arms. You were treated as if you were one of them without question. Something that Diana didn’t honestly even see coming. She had warned you that outsiders weren’t exactly a common thing in the island, not necessarily greeted with the most warmth, but she had also reassured you that with her advocacy, they’d come around. She didn’t even need to do that. They immediately embraced you as one of them. It hadn’t been very long and you were hesitant to admit this, but it was all giving you a welcomed familiar feeling. One of family, something you haven’t felt in so long. Warmth would spread in your chest with every time one of the locals would greet you. The people who surrounded Diana and her mother quickly took you under their wing. If Diana was busy with what you called “Princess Duties” then, one of Hippolyta’s righthand women would be with you, teaching you history, customs, you name it about the island. You knew you could fall in love with a person, as you were head over heels in love with Diana, but never did you know you could fall in love with a place. But Themyscira was quickly becoming a rare thing that you cherished. Of all the openness and positivity of those around you, there was only one person you didn’t know how to interact with. Hippolyta herself was kind, but intimating. You chalked it up to how powerful she was in her position and tried not to dwell on it.
One thing you didn’t quite love about this experience, though, was the “training” Diana put you through. It was to master the powers you found yourself with. If you were being honest, this was a long time coming and maybe you should’ve explored them a little more over the years. But there were two problems with that: The first was that if anyone caught sight your cover would be blown and you’d be in danger. The second was that you hated your abilities with every fiber of your being. All you saw in them was destruction and pain. When your fingers blazed with flames and you felt the familiar burn across your palms all you were reminded of was your trauma. Bitterness bubbled deep within you whenever you saw what you, yourself could do.
At least that hatred was admittedly getting a little better. Diana would sometimes be the one to work with you, but mainly it would be one of the other warriors on the island. If she was watching and you chanced a look at her, she would be looking back at you with pride and admiration. It helped you accept what you’ve become a little more. And it wasn’t just the way you felt about yourself and your powers that changed with training and with being surrounded by the positivity and beauty that was Themyscira. It was your powers themselves that seemed to change.
If you focused hard enough, the flame would move, the burn would be a dull heat. The control you had on the spread of your ability grew until it felt less like you were being consumed by what you had become and more like it was just an extension of yourself. You felt a pride rising in yourself as you noticed that your body had to heal less and less. You felt a power building in you with each time you trained. Not only that, but you learned (albeit slowly) how to fight with and without your powers. Granted, you were nowhere near as skilled and powerful as Diana and the other women around you, but you were still progressing and could maybe hold your own a little better in a fight now. This power was new, it was exhilarating even, but deep down, if you were being honest, it was terrifying. There was still that gut feeling that something bad could happen at any minute. It was like a new fear unlocked in you, but you couldn’t quite name the fear yet. Were you afraid that the organization would find you? Yes, but it was more dull now. So what was it? You tried not to dwell.
—————————————————————-
Training was harder this time, but you performed superbly. There was a new trick you were working on. Letting the flames lick up your arm without actually harming you. It was a struggle. It took a lot of focus, but you finally nailed it. For a moment, you forgot you had goals to improve and learn to protect yourself and just let yourself dance with the beauty of the flame spinning around you. Your eyes were glued to the way it illuminated the space around you. Your trainer watched, allowing you this moment. Everyone on the island knew of your struggle in some way or another, so it was moments like these that they all wanted you to have. When you stepped foot on that island, with each moment you felt less like a monster and more like yourself, whatever that may mean to you now. Still, the feeling of self loathing and dread was never zero, but it was better.
So when training was over, you wanted to rush to find Diana and share this moment with her. Some of the women around Hippolyta’s temple told you where you might find her, so you hurried to the meeting hall to see if perhaps she was out of whatever princessly duty she had today. You walked swiftly through the pristine halls of the Hippolyta’s immaculate palace. When you reached the towering doors of the hall you were pleased to see people filing out of the room. It must mean the meeting is over. Good, you were in a rare playful mood to whisk Diana off to the beach and show her your progress. Except, as you scanned the hall, you had yet to see Diana walk out those doors. After a minute, it seemed like the steady flow of Themyscira’s officials had finally stopped, yet Diana hadn’t been spotted. So, you decided to peak in. If the meeting was over, what would it hurt?
You walked up slowly to the double doors that were still slightly cracked. Your hand reached out to start to pull them open more, but faltered when you heard two voices come from the other side.
“What is she to you, Diana?” Hippolyta’s voice came from within the room.
“We’ve been over this already, mother.” You heard Diana’s voice reply.
“Yes, but with the statement you just made, child,” Hippolyta’s voice was commanding, yet still gentle, “I’d like to hear it again.”
“It’s hard to explain what she is, what she means. I thought it’s what I felt with him, but it’s so much more. She’s…”Diana paused for a moment and you couldn’t help but lean into the door to hear better. “Everything.” Diana finally said. “She is everything to me.”
“I know she is,” Hippolyta’s tone almost sounded apologetic. At that moment, you started to realize that maybe you shouldn’t be listening. But it was blatantly obvious that this conversation was about you and you didn’t want to tear away. “But I have my concerns.”
“Can you not just trust that I can make sound decisions for myself and my own feelings?” Diana was stern, but her voice held the same calm, commanding tone as her mothers.
“I do trust you, Diana, but this decision could affect the entirety of the island. We have you back finally, you can take your place as Princess of Themyscira again.”
“We came here for a reason, mother.” Diana’s voice suddenly sounded tired. Something told you this conversation had been had more than once. “I needed to keep her safe.”
“But what about keeping the island safe?” Hippolyta’s words hit you like a ton of bricks. Did she think you’d bring danger to her people too? That those men could find her? Surely not. So then, did she think you yourself was the source of danger? Your stomach dropped. Your power was growing, but you were learning to understand it more. Surely, she would know you’d never purposely harm a living soul on the island. But then again, purpose was the key word here. Deep down you knew. All it would take is one moment… a brief loss of control of what you could do and then something catastrophic could happen. No, you didn’t want to think about that.
“I’m done discussing this.” You heard Diana’s foot steps come closer to the door and you began to back away. As you got some didtance you heard her voice echo “it’s going to happen, mother.” And you wondered what “it” was, but didn’t dwell. Right now you really didn’t want them to know you were eavesdropping. Guilt washed over you at your own actions, but at least you now knew where you stood with Diana’s mother and it wasn’t good.
Your feet took you to your shared room with Diana. All thoughts of proudly showing her what you could do had left your mind. When Diana returned to you she noticed immediately that you seemed off. The smile you greeted her with seemed forced, pained. She was concerned, but when she asked, you shrugged it off. You were withdrawn for the rest of the evening.
————————————————————
The smell of smoke hit your senses first. You knew if you opened your eyes you’d see a sight that you really didn’t want to see. You could hear the crackle of trees as they broke down, you could hear the roar of fire coming from all sides, and worse, you could hear the cries of agony echo in the distance. Smoke filled your lungs and you sputtered a cough.
Finally, you willed yourself to open your eyes and what you saw confirmed your fears. There was no other color in the world around you but the vibrant red as flames consumed everything in sight. Your chest heaved, not from the lack of oxygen but from the gut wrenching sorrow that filled you. This was you. You did this.
Your eyes fell to your hands and you were startled. Instead of flesh you saw what looked like molten lava and searing hot stone in the shape of your arms. Heat radiated from your palms and you fell to your knees in shock. The grass ignited under your hands and quickly you pushed yourself up. The flames still spread though.
You scrambled, it wasn’t just where your hands were that caught fire around you. Where your knees hit the ground, there too sprang flames. As you stood you looked further down, only to realize your whole body matched your hands.
Fire licked at your heels and yet it didn’t hurt you. But it hurt them. Yours eyes turned to the hills, where in the distance you could see more and more homes get swallowed by flames. People fled, but you watched as some burned. Their screams echoed louder, louder, louder…
They drowned out the roar of the fire now. You put your hands to your ears but it didn’t muffle their cries even a little bit. Finally, you screamed too, overwhelmed by everything around you. Yet, it still didn’t rival that of the people.
And then, under the anguished howling around you, you heard a small groan of pain. Your eyes turned fast to where the sound came from. Off to the side of the burning field you found yourself in came the source of the noise. Your heart dropped when you realized what you were looking at.
There she was, Diana. Your love, your protector, your everything. She was on the ground, crumpled. Burning.
You ran to her, dropping to your knees without a second thought. Your hands flew to her arm to try to turn her towards you, but the minute you did you saw her skin sear and you pulled away.
“No,” you cried. “No, no…”
“No!”
“Shhh, it’s okay.” A voice cooed. Suddenly the smell of smoke was gone, the heat surrounding you dissipated. The world was silent. “You’re okay.”
Strong arms wrapped themselves around you and your eyes finally cracked open to see that you were back in the safety of your shared room. Diana pulled you to her chest, a hand running through your hair to calm you.
You turned into her. Your hands clutched at her shirt and you buried your face into the crook of her neck. You took a deep breath, inhaling her familiar scent, taking in everything about her. She was safe, it was just a dream.
But it felt so real.
“Was it about that man again?” Diana spoke softly into the otherwise silent room.
“Not this time.” Your voice was hoarse, you tried to clear it, but you were still too shaken from the dream.
“Do you want to talk about it?” She asked. You just shook your head, still keeping your face pressed into her. Your fists clenched tighter onto her shirt and you were sure, if the room wasn’t so dark, you’d see that they had gone white from how tight you held on.
“Whatever it was about,” Diana murmured, her lips still pressed lightly to the top of your head, “it was nothing but a dream. You’re safe here, my love.” Her hand moved from your hair to cup your cheek and bring your face out from where you were trying to hide. Her lips pressed gently to yours for a brief moment before she pulled back again. “I promise, you’re safe.”
That wasn’t the problem, but you didn’t want to tell her that now. Your head was suddenly filled with a new fear, a fear that the people here and even her weren’t safe from you. The words of Hippolyta replayed in the back of your mind, but you tried to shove them back down. You didn’t want to think about it. Instead, you leaned back in, capturing her lips in a kiss far different from the one she just gave.
Diana hesitated for a moment, trying to steady you with a firm hold on your shoulder. She pulled back slightly, only so she could meet your eyes. Both of you knew where this was heading and she just wanted to make sure you were sure this was something you wanted tonight. You met her eyes with a look that said it all. You needed to feel her tonight, to be in her arms in a type of intimate way that as of recently was only a privilege for her to have. She just nodded, her hand reaching up from your shoulder to press gently to your cheek. Your hand covered hers and you turned your head to place a kiss on her palm. She really was your safe space, your hero, your all. It was only in her arms that you felt all your fears finally melt away and it was in her arms that you needed to be engulfed in tonight to take away all your painful worrying.
After a few seconds of comfortably staying like that, Diana dropped her arms. With both strength and tenderness, she wrapped them around your waist and pulled you into a sitting position on her lap as she too sat up. Your hands immediately encircled her neck and you pulled her back in to meet her lips. The kiss was deep, breathtaking even, but still slow and full of utter admiration. The way her arms tightened slightly as your tongue peaked out to trace her lips, the way her chest rose and fell a little faster as you pressed your body fully into her, it was all intoxicating.
Honestly, just this, the way she was kissing you as if she was trying to pour every ounce of her heart into it, was enough to make you feel better. But still, you wanted to feel more of her and if she were being honest, she did too. Diana’s hands moved from where they had pressed to the small of your back, dipping down under your sleep shirt so she could feel your bare skin against the palms of her hands. Her hands moved up your back slowly, dragging your shirt up with them. You let go of your hold on her so that she could easily take your shirt all the way off. She dropped it haphazardly on the ground and leaned back.
There you were, bare from the waist up before her. Her eyes were dark, pupils blown as she leaned back a tiny bit so she could take you in. You looked so beautiful to her. Every time she saw you like this she swore she’d never felt happier than when she had these moments with you. Her eyes dragged up and down your naked torso and you still weren’t over how shy she could make you. Your arms flew to your chest, crossing over it in an attempt to cover yourself.
Diana gave you a small smile before resting one of her hands on your arm, gently pressing down so that you’d stop covering yourself. “You look beautiful, (Y/N).” Her voice was filled with gentle reassurance and patience. “Please, let me see you?” You paused for a moment, nodding hesitantly before letting her pull your arms all the way down. Diana gave you a soft smile before leaning down. A small gasp left your lips when she leaned down far enough to brush her lips against one of your bare nipples. She placed a soft kiss to the tip of it before, without warning, taking it into her mouth. Your hands flew to tangle into her hair and your teeth sunk down into your bottom lip to stop yourself from letting out what would’ve surely been an embarrassing whine.
Her tongue swirled around the peak and your hold on her hair tightened. Diana didn’t mind though, if anything it just spurred on her actions more. She switched to your other nipple, paying just as much attention to it and you began to squirm on top of her. With her strong hands, Diana moved them back down to your hips and started guiding you slowly to grind against her. However, you both quickly decided there was still too much clothes in between you two. With a pop, Diana let go of your nipple and you moved your hands to tug at her shirt, pulling it off her and throwing it behind her. With her hold on you, effortlessly, she lifted you just enough so you could shimmy yourself out of the underwear you were sleeping in. Diana did the same with her sleep bottoms, lifting herself and you with her as she kicked them off.
When you both were finally without clothes, Diana paused again. Her hand returning to your cheek before slowly dragging it down your neck, then your chest, and then slowly down your stomach. Her eyes followed her hand as she ran it down your body, but yours stayed glued on her face. The way she looked at you made you shiver, and you knew your heart was pounding with anticipation as her hand went lower and lower.
Finally, her hand made it between your legs. She continued to watch the movements of her fingers and she used two to slowly slide down your folds, gathering the wetness that she had already caused. You were embarrassed to admit how much you already wanted her. But that was how it was with her. When she kissed you, you never wanted it to end, when she held and touched you, you never wanted to leave her arms. You wondered if this profound need to just be near her would ever end, but deep down you knew it never would.
Diana’s fingers moved back up your folds and then further and you watched in shy awe as she placed the tips of her fingers to her lips and took them slowly into her mouth. Your face flushed at her reaction. Her eyes closed and she let out a low moan as she tasted you. When her fingers left her mouth and her eyes reopened there was a new fire in them. She looked at you with pure hunger and you shivered at the intensity of her gaze.
Her hand shot back down between your legs and she immediately started circling your clit. Her eyes turned to your face, watching as your expression turned into that of pleasure. Her fingers moved faster for a moment and she was pleased to see that your hips started to move with her.
Your hands held tight to her, pulling her to press against your chest as she kept going. She, in turn, buried her head in your neck and began placing open mouth kisses against your skin.
You couldn’t help the way your hips sped up, wanting more from her as she continued to play with your body. Finally, Diana’s fingers paused. She pulled back from your neck and you looked at her with what you were sure was an utterly pitiful pleading face. Your hips kept moving, trying to chase the feeling she was building in you, but a strong hand grabbed your hip and effectively stilled you.
“Look at me,” she commanded, her voice raspy with need. You did as you were told, only to see her gaze burn into you with its intensity. “You are so breathtaking,” she says and with that you suddenly feel her fingers go lower until two slowly enter you.
Your whole body shudders at the feeling and you can’t stop the loud gasp that leaves your lips. It echoes through the room as her fingers start moving up into you. Your head falls forward, your forehead pressing to her shoulder. The grip you had on her releases, only for a moment, to drop to her back. You press her closer as she starts a steady rhythm. When the hand that was on your hip started to guide you again to move with her fingers, your nails started to dig into her skin. If it was anyone else, you knew it would’ve hurt. But all you felt from Diana was the tense of her muscles as she gradually picked up the pace.
At this point, you were letting her take full control. Your mouth hung open as your face remained buried in her shoulder. She was practically lifting you and moving you back down onto her fingers as she pumped them inside you. Moans were being muffled by her bare skin and you could hear sounds of Diana too as she touched you. Her breathing was ragged as she kept going, occasionally she would let out a moan of her own as your hips pressed against hers.
Your legs began to shake the closer you got to the edge and your thighs tightened around her as you struggled to stay upright on her lap. Diana took notice of this, the hand guiding you, suddenly moving to encircle your waist. Her hips began to buck hard into you, putting more power into the movement of her fingers. It took a few more seconds of this before you felt yourself falling apart on top of her.
Your body slumped forward after a minute of you coming down from the orgasm she drew out of you. Her fingers slowed to a stop before delicately sliding out of you. She held you in her arms as you caught your breath.
Both of you stayed like that for a few moments. She placed kisses to the top of your head and you returned them with innocent ones pressed against your shoulder. Her fingers started to run through your hair and suddenly your body felt heavy. Sleepiness hit you once again and Diana could tell.
She repositioned you so that when she leaned back, you went with her, your body comfortably resting upon hers. Her arms moved to trace along your bare back. Your hands started to move lower, realizing you had maybe been a little selfish in getting all the attention and not reciprocating, but Diana stopped you by gently wrapping her hand around your wrist. “Not tonight, my love.”
You looked back up to meet her eyes and she looked back at you with a gentle smile. “But you didn’t…”
“Maybe tomorrow you can make it up to me.” Her fingers went to brush a strand of hair from your face. “Just let me hold you for the rest of the night.”
You nodded, a little relieved because of how tired you suddenly found yourself. You leaned up and briefly kissed her lips. She returned it happily before you laid back down with your ear pressed to her chest. As you listened to the gentle thrum of her heartbeat she took your hand from where it rested on her waist and brought it to her lips to kiss each finger tip. The softness of it all made you smile against her chest.
“You know…” Diana mused as she played with the tips of your fingers. “My people used to believe that a long time ago when the cosmos was created, living things would be made up of two parts. Two heads, two sets of arms, two sets of everything.”
“Sounds kind of scary,” You mumbled into her chest.
“Yes,” Diana chuckled softly. “I suppose it does. But eventually living beings changed, we separated and became two halves. Now, some still believe that their other half is out there. That we each make up two parts to one whole and that other part is…” Diana paused for a moment trying to find the right words. “I guess you’d call it a soulmate.”
You looked up a Diana for a moment, your arms still resting around her waist. She looked down at you with a gentle sincerity shining in her eyes. “Do you believe in it?” You asked.
“I didn’t used to,” She whispered. “But my perspective is changing.” Her hands moved to run slowly through your hair again and you laid your head back down. Never in the long years you’ve survived had you felt more safe, more whole, than in this moment. Diana began to hum gently, a melody you weren’t familiar with but soothing all the same. After a short while you fell back into a deep sleep and Diana continued to hold you in her arms until the sun came up.
Little did you know that Diana didn’t fall back asleep with you that night. Her mind was elsewhere as you slumbered in her arms. Her eyes kept moving to her wardrobe, where buried deep was a certain item that could change everything. Her mother might have her doubts, but she knew, undoubtedly, that it would be for the better. All she needed was the right moment.
