Part Five; they're teenagers, don't freak out

I like to think that Batman’s suit is really heavy

Like, the thing obviously Kevlar weave, with lots of armour reinforced bits, not to mention all of the gear and gadgets and tools he has on his person, I mean, anything he’s ever thought he may need, anything he’s been mid fight thinking that a particular tool would be useful, he has it somewhere, probably a few of them

And all the kids too, they’re equally equipped even if they don’t necessarily look it

So I like to imagine that some of the heroes decided they should do a costume switch for fun

The bats agreed, and the best part wasn’t them being weirded out like they thought they’d be, unmasked and all that, no, they couldn’t care less, instead everyone else is freaking out about how heavy the bats costumes are

How the hell do they do impossible feats of acrobatics wearing shit like this

Even the supers think it’s excessive, and they have super strength

The bats all take the opportunity to try some of their moves without the weight, given that they work out wearing even more weight

Turns out they can flip and jump and move in even more insane ways than anyone thought possible and everyone is more terrified than they were a few minutes ago

Everyone decides the bats are better with their gadgets

I think it would be funny if Alfred was a TikTok cat (tm) but the account wasn’t run by Damian it’s run by Tim and Duke and it’s just chronicling the insane shit that Damian trains Alfred to do because she’s so food motivated.

The most popular video is Duke secretly filming Damian as he commands Alfred to steal Tim’s bag of chips while he’s not looking. Damian accepts the bag, pulls a treat out of his pocket for Alfred, and pulls Alfred into his lap while munching on chips. Duke is trying not to lose it in the background causing the camera to shake.

one thing i love about protective batfam is you can flip it in a kinda way that it . . . shows more when they're in their wayne personas, during galas and stuff.

like, yes, obviously they're protective while in costume and all have each other's backs and all that. but also consider: them being overly protective of one another during galas, then making fun of each other over rooftops that very same night.

Red Hood, who had just scared some creep off as Jason from Damian a few hours before hand: I will push you off this rooftop.

Robin, knows fully well Hood would push him off the rooftop but also it's his big brother who didn't let a weird stranger get even near him: Boo-hoo. Try it, imbecile.

Tim, directing the conversation with a socialite to himself because he sees Dick getting exhausted: Hello, I haven't met you, yet. Who might you be?

Dick, smiling despite himself because Tim had threatened bodily harm on him the previous the night because Nightwing woke Red Robin up after he fell asleep on a rooftop: I'll excuse myself.

Cass, showing Duke who to avoid and how to manage galas because he's still quite new to the scene: You can hide here sometimes, if it gets too much. All little siblings do. Dick, too.

Duke, seeing that exact smile but more mischievous the night before because Cass introduced him to rooftop tag but also hid his grappler giggling and saying 'all is fair in rooftop tag': Thanks, Cass. Love you.

duke thomas should study civil engineering and become like…. a reflection of his hero persona — someone who is protecting gotham in the daylight. his family built gotham’s skyscrapers and now duke is creating a better city for the future

Flying Bats

It may take awhile and a lot of bonding and a LOT of work but Dick Grayson absolutely 100% teaches all of his siblings, and sibling adjacent, the various acts he and his parents once performed. It takes them so, so, so much practice and there are definitely broken bones and some torn muscles but each and every one of the Bats eventually manages to master the Grayson signature quadruple somersault and Dick knows he's not the only Flying Grayson in the world anymore. They can't fly as naturally or as well, but he's not alone, his family flies with him.

In order to connect with his children, Bruce thought to adopt Gen-Z /Gen Alpha type slang, unfortunately, he sought out help from said children, the worst decision of all, asking Steph.
